In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Hearing the new nickname, ironically the Princess of Hearts looked at him incredulously, but finding the pun and inside joke of it all she didn't respond too negatively to it. Also the tone of his voice made her think it would be the wrong time to laugh or even chuckle. As he spoke she stared him down like a crossing doe in the forest; by that he had her undivided attention.
The way he said her name, well her cover-up name caused her to feel as if she had done something wrong. It felt similar to when her parents or friend was angry, yet they'll never tell you what it is until you ask and the only hint of their frustration was their tonality and gaze. If she had the ears of a doe, it would certainly flattened, but her brows did turned upwards like a chastized dog. For a moment she glanced away, Crap...I did something....wrong...again
What he said next caused her to quick snap her head to see him causing her bang to get in her eyes. Her head tilted in confusion trying to figure things out, and it dawned on her...she had hurt him...somehow...in someway. Her brain was going on rewind and replay wondering when she had ever said anything directly about him to fire him off in such way. She wasn't sure if it was assuming he was labeling her a child...or the friendship tick, which was directed towards him. The first she didn't think would cause him that much grief unless he hates these kind of scenarios caused by assumption, but the latter can surely punch a hole in him. Either way she would have to pave over both accounts only his reaction would tell which one was more effective on him.
For a moment, while watching him, she felt like she saw another spectrum of Reno. The more she lingered next to him the more she saw, which would a.) definately draw a line between him and Axel, which she never knew on a personal level with indepth conversation, b.) she was seeing more of other people. Lately she has been surrounded by people she knew excluding Akira; this experience made traveling being worthwhile. One gets to see new people and maybe be able to see them for who they are, or maybe she was thinking to far ahead of herself. At the tought of that she looked up at him and chuckled.
Sure she could've smiled at retribution of no longer being seen as a child, but for her it was more towards the realization, he is...not bad at all...
Now she wanted to be around him more to see what other sides she could find. Snapping out of her own la la pondering land, she hummed acknowledging him blinking at him, "Oh...he's somewhere...maybe helping others and searching for me."
She didn't want to think of Sora's and Riku's reaction to her being gone and her departure letter; something like this should be spoken then cowardly indirectly to not face the music, but for her it seemed like the only route to actually do it without the music and hovering. Moving over she scooted up on the balcony and sat indian style not fearing off falling off,"I left my friends behind; to help them, I need to get better...at alot of things. I know they aren't happy about that...they tend to worry, hence why I left for I can catch up with them since they been through so much in so little time, which I can never relate to, and in the end of it...they've gotten stronger from it all."
Without them yes, she was a bit uneasy with them as buffers, but it's a learning process and adaptation she must go through.
"What about yours?" Kairi inquired, and she watched him curiously.
Indeed, he saw her confusion, more like felt it when she stared at him with those doe eyes of hers, but he did nothing to clear the murky waters of Reno's Logic. He'd learned from being a Turk that information only comes when you seek it, and unless she asked he didn't feel like telling. Damn right, in his mind, because if she asks him no questions he'll tell her no lies. He also felt her eyes on him, but with his naturally- unnaturally, as the rest of the Turks would correct- red hair, he was used to being stared at by now. Not that it ever bothered him to begin with.
He nodded, assuming that since Shio didn't know where this friend of hers was, he was probably on another world. But his brow furrowed as he replayed her words. 'Searching for me?' So, perhaps she was the one on the different world. Right? Or maybe he was jumping to conclusions. After all, he had the misfortune of knowing from experience that one's world could be completely turned upside-down by the darkness.
Oh, wait. She was explaining.
C'mon, Red. Turks always pay attention.
Shio was sitting on the balcony now, and a wicked idea crossed his mind to act as if he were going to push her off. He wouldn't, not really, but as tempting as the thought was, he didn't feel like listening to her scream at him again. Especially if he deserved it. He nodded, preferring to listen to her talk about her friends than reprimanding him. The short few sentences didn't make up the entire story, even he could feel it.
"You ain't them, yo." He offered, shrugging as he turned away from her to look out over the balcony. "Maybe leaving for a while's the best way you'll catch up to 'em." Her next question sort of caught him unawares, while at the same time it was expected. What about his friends? He didn't know where they were, he didn't even know if they were alive. With a soft sound to acknowledge her question, the Turk pushed himself off the wall and made his way to the balcony. The cigarette between his fingers only had one good, long drag left before burning his skin, and like the risk-taker he was he took it, racing the embers as his lungs filled with smoke. With a smirk, he quickly dropped the cigarette to the ground and crushed what was left with his boot. More smoke rings followed as he exhaled, and he waited until they vanished before speaking.
"Beats me, yo, 'cos they ain't here." He said, the words wrapped by the obvious Midgar accent- well, if one knew about Midgar to begin with. He leaned forward, placing his hands flat on the balcony to support himself. His eyes flashed over to hers, watching for her reaction. "The Planet was finally starting to heal itself when they came." This time he twisted his upper body enough to look more in her direction. "Those little black freaks with the yellow eyes, yeah? We couldn't keep 'em under control. SOLDIER aren't really known for losing, yo, neither are the Turks. Now we're all only Gaia knows where."
It shocked him in a way, to hear his own voice sharing so much information. Compared to what he was trained to do, coupled with his natural instinct to keep personal things locked up tightly. But war did strange things to people, it made them realize whether or not they had anything to lose, and how much.
"Radiant Garden really isn't your world, if you left." He stated, confident in this observation simply because he didn't know her full history. Besides, he was sure she wouldn't want to listen to him drone on and on when the subject matter wasn't all that exciting to a kid her age. Remembering her issue with him thinking of her as a kid, Reno's smirk widened, and he narrowed his eyes playfully. "Where are you from?"

Although she didn't know Reno at all, it felt good to have a sense of approval. Sure Yuffie was supportive with keeping her lips sealed...if that was even possible, but there was something different to get a clear cut 'a-okay'. The only person who've been telling herself it was a good move was her; atleast that just added another person to the list to help her feel more secure and less guilty.
Her brows dipped sadly at his confession; just the first line she imagined how lost and isolated he felt whether he showed it or not. She could relate to not having her friends nearby multiple times; at Traverse Town, she had the crew that now made up the restoration committee, and back at home once it restored, she had Selphie, Wakka, and Tidus. Still with all the buffers, there was still avoid, but it still can't equate to complete cut off. Looking at Reno she thought of how Sora took it when he realized everything he knew was gone.
What didn't surprise her was the heartless involvement, a phenomenon that even to this day can be a nightmare for her. She could still feel the chill from loosing her heart, which was the closet to a life and death experience she touched, and the darkness grasping her away from her world. As she listened intently, she brought her knees up to her chest as her arms and chins rested on them. Kairi was about to say something, but Reno changed the subject; she took it he didn't want to talk to deeply into it...and she didn't blame him. While her wounds of that night was old, his was brand new and fresh.
Her eyes smiled at the question, since in a since he was wrong and right. "Actually I am from here...at one point, a long time ago. I don't remember much about it; I guess I was to little to remember. It's kinda sad...I don't feel attached to this place, but I had a family here, a grandma, yet...they are nothing, but blurs to me. Some how I ended up at my home, the islands, Destiny Island."
She didn't want to draw conclusion on how she got there, since it was still a mystery to her, but it wouldn't be surprising if the heartless was invovled.
"The heartless, those black freaks, came to my world too...about two years ago in a storm," she can still remember how dark the skies were, how voilent the ocean smashed into her row boat, and how the shadows wavered from the sands chasing her. "It's fine now...I even remember when it came back just dazzling radiance as everything sprouted back; I'm sure your world will do the same too; I know so."
The only reason she can guarantee that was because she knew three people that can undo it all, and she was one of them. In a sense, she had made a silent promise and committment," And seeing how your friends are strong like you...they're probably somewhere...looking for you, and when everything is back to normal...you'll all be together.
She then paused to look at him giving an encouraging smile, "just like the islands."
"You're from here, but you're not really from here." He offered, knowing what she meant but just wanting to confirm his thoughts. But the repetition might have confused her, because even to his own ears it sounded odd. Then again, everything he said tended to do that. "Sometimes it's easier to be attatched to people than to a place, yo." He nodded as if he needed to agree to his own statement.
Reno couldn't help but blink owlishly at the name of her actual home, Destiny Island. When was the last time he was on an island? Had he ever been on one? As she continued, he remembered to pay attention this time. Silently, just to give his hands something to do, his fingers drummed on the balcony to no particular beat. But then they paused. He turned to her, careful to keep his expression neutral. "It came back, yeah?" Happy for the girl as he would be for anyone whose home came back after such an attack, he grinned crookedly.
"Of course they're strong, yo! We're Turks." Reno said, being dramatic as usual and standing at attention- which he hardly does off the clock, and never on- giving a mock salute. "But just think, if the Boss has SOLDIER out lookin' for us?" The Turk actually tossed his head back and laughed at the odds. "They can't be trusted to find anything but trouble."
He shook his head, still smiling. Partially he was biased, but on the other hand, SOLDIER had a brilliant time getting themselves into trouble and needing the Turks to get them out of it. On a sudden impulse, he reached out with one hand to ruffle her hair harmlessly. With his smile more of a smirk now, he looked back to the skies. "You ain't bad, kid. You ain't that bad."

Kairi laughed softly as Reno restated in simpler terms, “Yeah, weird right.”
It seems weird stuff always happens around her; Selphie wasn’t an alien from a different planet, nor was she kidnapped by Nobodies, a random Princess, and all the other ridiculous non-sense that ironically all happened to her. Another weird thing of weird was a lack of recollection of her family; one would think one’s home would be a nest of those memories of those people. With her mangled link to her family, her link with Radiant Garden was damaged. Then again, Kairi hardly burdened on those thoughts, since there wasn’t much to be done for it.
Now other problems such as the universal problems and the missing worlds are things she can reverse and aid. Reno’s enthusiasm only made her want to jump on that bandwagon even sooner; she wasn’t getting anything done sitting around in the safety net of Radiant Garden and under the eyes of the Restoration Committee. Nor was she fulfilling anything, while hiding her keyblade.
Kairi blinked unaware and lost as her hair was ruffled and became a mess under Reno’s affectionate wrath. She looked over to him to see a small smirk on his face. Once her hair was free of torture, she shook her head for it can fall back in place as the rinse dye started its fading process. Her eyes narrowed for a moment at the nickname, but they rolled knowing he was permitting in using that as a joke, “Yeah you’re not that bad either Ponytail.”
Oh yeah, she said it.
”So what are you going to do next besides lounge, smoke, get wasted, and fall off of baileys?” Kairi snickered to herself as she imaged a rather wasted Reno; it wouldn’t surprise her if he was a drinker…that what resulted to the tattoos.
Reno coughed, choking on air as it tried leaving his lungs. It wasn't shock really, more like surprise. Being a Turk, he certainly wasn't caught off-guard- that never happens to Turks, obviously- but he still couldn't match a name to the feeling.
"Ponytail?" He asked, eyes widening for less than a millisecond before he got his reactions back under control, his green orbs narrowing then in mock anger. Another childish impulse to poke his tongue out at her nearly got the best of him, but he bit it back just in time.
Five seconds later and he willingly gave in to his impulses. After all, Reno wasn't known for being mature. He was dangerous and lethal while on the job, and ridiculously lazy and childish off it.
"What am I gonna do?" He shrugged nonchalantly, inwardly smug at the fact that this time, the words out of the girl's mouth hadn't surprised him. "Well let's see; you've got lounging, smoking, getting wasted, and fallin' off Baileys..." Each event was counted off on his long fingers, and with a crooked grin the redhead held up his hand and wiggled his four digits with a mock sense of pride.
Then he winked at her, before moving on and dramatically groaning as if he were just told to finish paperwork. "You're actin' like I've got all day, darlin'." Which, he did.
"I like food too, y'know. Sleepin' ain't that bad either, but you'll probably be like 'Laney and say lounging and sleeping are the same damn thing." Reno sighed, and in one smooth motion he was perched upon the balcony next to Shio. He kept his expression neutral, not wanting to give out more information than he already had. Looking back at their conversation, he realized with a small shock that he'd told this new girl more about his life than anyone else he'd met since Gaia's collapse. He was trained to see all but share nothing, yet the filter between his brain and his mouth was obviously malfunctioning.
"I'll keep an eye out for the rest of the Turks-" before thinking, he scoffed and rolled his eyes, "-as well as any SOLDIERs. Say, if you see any, mind tellin' 'em Red's still got his Mag-Rod?" A playful smirk was aimed in Shio's direction, and his tone was light. "They're precious little things, with skulls as thick as their muscles." Of course he was messing around. It's not like any SOLDIERs would be dull enough to parade about in their uniforms...but then again, Turks were more the brains while SOLDIER made up for the brawn.
"I ain't got nothin' planned, yo." There, he gave her an actual reply. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he was well aware that not everyone cared about Shinra like he did- for the most part, at least- but loyalty was loyalty and he'd always had a bad habit of telling others about the company. "What about you, kid?"

Seeing the look on his face, Kairi burst out into a laughter as she pointed at him; the narrowing of his eyes only made her bend with the tight strain of her stomach. As his tongue popped out, Kairi rolled her eyes mockingly as her laughter died down to giggles. Getting comfy, she lifted up a knee to rest her arms and chin on as she watched him.
He was quite an amusing specimen to observe...if she was to categorize him as such. His mannerisms made him a breath of fresh air, and it's not like she wasn't a sociable individual...he was just oddly different. Actually he would pretty much be the second person Kairi had met outside of her social circle and comfort zone. Oh the glories and blessings of mistakes; she wondered how else she would meet this stranger if not for a poor misunderstanding and miscalculation.
She snorted teasingly as he groaned, "Yeah you do have have all day...Alsoo lounging isn't quite sleeping; you can be awake and basking, while lounging, but not sleeping. "
The youth could've continued on, but noticed his silence. Her brows knitted together in a concerned tone as her head titled like a curious pup. Her mind rewinded everything to make sure nothing wrong was said, but his next line had helped fill in the gaps. He truly felt seperated and genuinely missed him even if he didn't showed to much of it. It really didn't take much to show it. Kairi wasn't psychic, but she's attentive; perhaps she have Riku to thank, since he can be just as cryptic, while trying to be expressive without fully exposiving himself.
Looking up at him, Kairi nodded with a smile about these soldiers. She rather keep up his good mood and comply even if she had no idea who these soldiers were exactly. Still she wanted to help his cause, but she couldn't think of how to go about it, since he never asked. It seemed intrusive to make such an offer when one was so guarded and self-aware. A fingernail became a prisoner between nibbling teeth; it took his direct question to snap out of it blinking like an innocent doe.
"Hm? I don't know really. I kind of planned stuff for me, while still being uncertain of things. I would depart from this safety bubble of a world, but not just yet...just have a feeling I'm missing something. Ya know? As if...if I leave too soon, then this visit would be too insignificant as if I'm going to miss something very important..."
There was something about her that confused him; one moment she nearly kicks him off the Bailey and the next she's looking up at him with her doe eyes. The hell? He couldn't decide if he wanted to treat her as a child or as a young woman since she showed both sides. Mulling these thoughts over in his mind, he effortlessly retrieved another cigarette from the pack in his pocket.
"As if...if I leave too soon, then this visit would be too insignificant as if I'm going to miss something very important..."
To this he nodded; he placed the cigarette between his lips and paused his nodding only long enough to light it. To be honest, he didn't truly know what she meant because he was more interested in Shinra's taking control of the Planet while keeping it safe from super crazy space-freaks with pink eyes and mind control. Not that the very mental image made him think of anything in particular, of course not. Besides, he wasn't about to tell her that part of his history, seeing as some things are better left unsaid.
"Did you ever tell your friends about what'shisface before you left?" Reno clearly remembered Axel's name, he just didn't feel like saying it. Almost as if speaking his name aloud would lead to one of those odd 'speak of the devil!' moments. Then he blinked, and realized his mistake. "Sorry yo, just had to ask." He actually wasn't sorry, but experience taught him that people appreciate such bullshit comments. Habit, one could say.
"But this is a 'safety bubble of a world', eh?" He finally decided to stop speaking around the cigarette and withdrew it, exhaling fine rings of smoke into the air. He grinned, watching her from the corner of his eye. "Ain't nothing important happens in a place like that." Like that, not like here because personally he didn't believe in world-shaped safety bubbles anymore. Especially not if he lived on said world, because knowing his luck he'd have to blow something up again, just like Sector 7, only this time it'd be the city where Shio stayed, and she'd be home when it happened, and she'd never have another chance to try and murder him-
No, he told himself as his eyes flashed; Radiant Garden was not going to become the next Sector 7 if he had anything to say about it. Reno took a longer drag this time to keep from sneering at his thoughts. For Gaia's sake, they hardly knew each other! Why the hell was he suddenly feeling like the dark-haired, doe eyed girl next to him was someone like a long lost sister? Gods, their hair color didn't even match.

Kairi's brows scrunched in contemplation trying to remember memories so old. It wasn't a priority to vent at Riku and Sora about him that would only deminish her big girl status to the damsel that needed guarding. Also if they heard about that they would probably keep a closer eye on her, since even 'safe' on the islands she had drawn attention to herself unintentionally. "You know...I don't think I did. Anyway it's my problem not theirs, and after that had happened its been...pretty much a year since we've seen each other so it hardly came up. Wouldn't surprise me if they knew already."
Then again Riku and Sora were always several paces of ahead of her. For a moment she reflected in trying to figure out what could they be doing right now and if they were okay. She giggle snorted at her worrisome nature; she had the most hard-headed stubborn friends in the worlds ...in regards to giving up. Actually they were quite well-mannered. Hearing Reno somewhat quote her, she looked over at him as her head tilted in curiosity of where he was going with it. Her lips pursed as her eyes roamed the bailey thoughtfully, "No...there's something important here. I just can't put my finger on it."
She looked out towards the ominious structure from a far. Why her curiosity said go check it out was beyond her, and she doubted this was the 'something' she referred to. Already she was making 'venturing outside of the protective city' on the top of her what to do list. Then again what Reno said was true...nothing truly out of the norm ever occurs within the city, but Kairi would be looking for trouble stepping out of it. At this she shrugged; she have been getting into 'trouble' when she was oblivious; atleast this time it would be on her own accord. "Hmmm maybe I should roam this place until I run into it. Also I bet it's outside the city, the 'bubble' stop just outside of it."
Then her mind began to paint what could it possibly look like outside the city walls. She never heard anything about it. Sure there was the Maw not to far from where she's at now, but that was still...close to this sanctuary bird cage. With the spunk of youth still kicking in her, she hopped off the ledge to the ground before stretching. Heck her first plan to 'leave' the islands was for venturing; she might as well sate her venturing bug in her own homeworld.
"So if nothing important happens here...are you leaving?"
Heh. How familiar that notion was to the redhead, believing that any and all issues encountered were meant for his eyes only; the impact of a situation didn't decrease in relation to how many people were involved. Shio seemed to be a girl who didn't feel like shoving her problems onto others, instead choosing to keep them to herself- like Elena. Finally, he realized, he could now connect the dots and have some sort of understanding as to why he felt a slight protectiveness towards the slip of a girl who tried pushing him over to his death. Shio and Elena were both strong girls and it was only natural that Reno wanted to fill in the void left by Elena with another, consciously or not.
But she continued talking, and he quieted himself by taking drags from the cigarette between his fingers. A part of him wanting to laugh madly at the memory of Tseng, his boss, who had such an aversion to his smoking that Reno often smoked just to spite him. Shio didn't mind, or at least she didn't say anything, which was nearly as calming as the nicotine itself. He also didn't comment on the fact that she couldn't put a finger on whatever important dwelled in this world. Trouble, he knew from experience, had a knack for finding you the moment you stopped looking for it. So if she continues searching, not too much could happen, right? Oh, he was everso wrong in that assumption but sometimes he just needs to lie to himself.
"You think the bubble stops, or you know?" He asked, once again keeping the cigarette between his lips as he spoke around it. His eyes were trained in the direction she was staring off in, not wanting to miss anything. "'Cos wandering off without a partner is dangerous, y'know." He watched her hop off the ledge and stretch, even though he had to turn to glance over his shoulder to keep her within sight. Blowing smoke rings to keep his comment to himself, Reno wanted to mention how happy he was that she didn't try shoving him over again. But he wouldn't vocalize this, seeing as how something told him she wouldn't try again unless he started it.
Her next question made him smirk around the cigarette, and he slid the rest of his body around to face her. "Depends, yo." The Turk started, carefully pulling the cigarette away from his lips to gently knock the gathering ashes off onto the ledge next to him. "I get bored too damn quickly to stay and watch the clouds. But I'll stay if somethin' decides to keep me here- if the world can handle this." With a playful gleam in his green eyes, Reno motioned to himself as if he was the thing not too easily handled.
"I'll follow you now, yo, if you don't want to go alone." Because he needed something to do other than go back to sleep. The bit about him following her regardless of her opinion was left unsaid, since he could just as easily trail her from the shadows. She was interesting enough to want to keep from being killed out there, of course.

She hummed at the question; she wasn't too entirely sure about the Tron defenses or knew indepthly about it. What Kairi did knew was that she was advised not to go towards the Maw. With that she concluded the defenses either had a stopping point or was less efficient. To not give any false leads, she gave the usual glance back and shrug with a nervous chuckle.
Now she stroll had an extra bounce her step as if she knew she was going to get herself into trouble; the thought just stirred up a childish mischeif in her blue eyes. Her head turned over her shoulders hearing Reno. She rolled her eyes at his self-presentation with a 'pssh'. He didn't seem that big of a bundle to be a bother; then again if one purpose was to get him moving when he's stretched out like a lazy lithe cat, it could be a challenge.
A smile beamed on her face as he offered his company, "Sure it will break the silence, so get up lazy bum. If outside the city is less protected, then theeeere should be something oooout theeeere."
