In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

"The winds of change blow through my soul, And the warlords try to take control, I will never rely on you, And the pain will hit you... shame on you..."
Another slash, another kill. Pale, black lashed eye lids shot open as a serious gaze flashed in heterochromia eyes of blue and green, eyebrows furrowed into a soft frown. A lone figure, surrounded by creatures born from darkness, remained in her stance. White feathers danced away in the wind from her feathery skirt, the beautifully crafted sword in her right hand was pointed behind her with her left arm stretched outwards and her fingers spread out like a fan."Bitter sweet oblivion, or eternal slumber? Each equals loss, but at a different price," softly spoken words were uttered from lips so full as she finally stood up straight, awaiting the decision of her shadowy foes "to rest peacefully in never ending sleep, or be damned forever in forsaken nothingness... act out your answer!"
With a scrape from the tip of her sword against the ground below, sparks were created and soon faded as quickly as the swiftness of her blade. Alas, they did not seem to understand her words, and without hesitation they soon swarmed towards her. The young warrior just merely closed her eyes, gripping the hilt tightly in her hand as she sighed. Out in the open in The Great Maw, the woman highly doubted any one else was around which had therefor caused the creatures to attack, believing she was either weak or unguarded.
"How unfortunate that you choose the foolish way..." it was indeed sad, but she could not back down, her life was in danger, so she had to defend it. Not a day went by without her getting tired of the constant fighting. Once again there was another slash here and there, more of the dark creatures faded into mist, but it just didn't stop more from appearing.
"Blasted creatures..." she growled under her breath, why wouldn't they just give up? She didn't even know why they had showed up and attacked her, though clearly she knew not of what they were and what their purpose was. She felt that she could handle it, but damn, these things were persistent.
Running. Metal greaves speeds hastily over the top side of the Great Maw. Following the treacherous canyon out to Villains Vale, leaving the safety of Radiant Garden. Despite the weight of the silver metal, the strong legs kept a ferocious speed. Carrying a knight in full metal plate armor. Silver pieces laced over black leather. The wind whistling passed the wolf head's shaped helmet. With a cape billowing in his wake the broad tall man ran as fast as he could. The sounds of combat were drawing near.
Appearing over the top ledge, Sir Lucas spotted the gathering of Heartless below. Swarming around a single person, trying to steal her heart. The Wolf Knight didn't had much time to take in more details through the black visor of his helmet. A soul was in danger, his duty called. With a quick sprint, the heavy warrior leaped from the top of the canyon and slided down the steep wall to the bottom of the gorge. A rough trip that would have scabbed the bare skin of all that were not wearing any protection.
landing at the base of the Great Maw, his entrance had already drawn the attention of some of the Heartless. The predators of darkness sunk into the ground and shifted closer to the newcomer. The Wolf Knight pulled out his longsword from his scabbard and took a firm hold of his kite shield. The black shield with on it the drawing of a wolf howling at a full moon became visible. Taking a position with the shield in front and the sword raised at the ready to strike. Inside the helmet, Sir Lucas gritted his teeth in anger. As his voice roared from the mouthpiece. "By the Lunar Goddess, thou vermin shall not feast on a heart for as long as I draw breath."
With a howl he charged forward. Fighting his way through the mass of opponents standing in between himself and the unknown woman that he wanted to reach. His shield plowing through the ranks as an indomitable force they could not best.
"The winds of change blow through my soul, And the warlords try to take control, I will never rely on you, And the pain will hit you... shame on you..."
Another enemy slain, though more continued to appear. Unknown to the angelic woman with the heart of a noble wolf, her heart was pure and strong, one so deliciously desired by the darkness. This battle was slowly becoming tiring, as much as she wanted to convince herself that she could handle, she knew she could not.
Before she could strike once again, she was somewhat startled to see someone aid her in this chaotic battle. Despite the appreciation of the brave warrior risking his life to help her, she couldn't help but feel slight annoyance, only remembering herself of those foolish stories of the damsel's in distress and the so-called brave hero swooping in to save the day.
No... she was not a damsel, she was a warrior of Seraphinus, the only daughter of the great King Azriel Alexandrus Fáelán VI, not some helpless maiden. She looked over her shoulder briefly at the stranger, his face hidden by a wolf shaped helmet, for a moment it's design somewhat reminded her of her dear friend Faolan back at home. Soon a gentle frown plastered her features as all seriousness washed over her before turning her back on him, leaving him to fight his share of the battle now. As long as he did not get in her way, she would be fine with his accompaniment.
Turning her attention to the yellow eyed beasts born from darkness with Lupus Alatus held firmly in her grasp. "Your profanity ends here!" she roared whilst entering a hasty pace and targeting approximately eight of the enemies, dashing towards each and slashing through them twice, allowing them to return to the darkness from whence they came. Now the final blow was to be dealt, the wind blew gently around her, a soft howl could be heard in the wind... and then finally, with sudden gust of wind, the dominant growl of a wolf was brought in one single blast of wind. The spirit of what appeared to be a wolf appeared through the woman and faded out of her, the enemies had been thrown back and now the upper hand was slowly becoming theirs.
Bursting through the final line of Heartless, the ironclad knight arrived at the heart of the fighting. He was plagued by a sense of déjà-vu, remembering a similar situation he was once trapped in. When the escape pod of the Atlantis expedition crashed down in the third district, the crew inside was an easy prey for the Heartless. He stepped in to defend them but the longer he shielded those men from danger, the more Heartless appeared. It was because others came to help him that things turned out well.
This unknown warrior woman was making a similar mistake. Staying put not knowing that there will be no end to this blight. Despite her skill her stamina was finite. Covering the final meters, Sir Lucas was now looking at the back of her head. Seeing only the messy brown hair. So far he had not been able to see who could be wandering out here alone. He was only sure that it was somebody he had not met before.
The creeping Heartless tried to strike in the opening that was created and lunged for her back. With a quick jab and a brutal bash of his shield the attackers were skewered and stomped. Keeping his momentum, he turned around and slided backward over his metal boots till his back was facing her back. Only the length of his cape was between the two warriors. From the little he had seen, he was trusting that she would be a capable swordswoman. But still now both were surrounded by the Heartless swarm.
Any attack was swiftly blocked and countered by the kite shield and long sword of the Wolf Knight. His weapons and armor were withstanding firmly the endless attempts of the dark predators. Keeping his focus on his half of the battlefield. Then the sudden loud but familiar roar of a wolf erupted right behind his back. The Knight froze up for a moment as he stood there baffled. Seeing how the Heartless were all knocked back and giving pause to their tactics. Believing the growl to be a sign granted by the Lunar Goddess.
Immediately he spotted that this was the only opportunity they both would ever receive. Turning his head back but keeping one eye at his adversaries. He shouted to her: "There will be no end to this onslaught. We must make for the town of Radiant Garden. Within it's walls we shall find repose."
A cocky shadow that thought the knight had his guard down got ferociously cleaved apart with a quick hack of his longsword. Proving his intuïtion wrong. Right after this, the noble knight pointed his long sword out into the direction of Radiant Garden. Which laid behind an every growing army of Heartless. "We must cut a path."
"The winds of change blow through my soul, And the warlords try to take control, I will never rely on you, And the pain will hit you... shame on you..."
The Princess of Seraphinus took a mere step to the side as another shadowy creature attempted to pounce, it had missed her and so with one single flash of her blade the fiend had been destroyed. "Foolish shadows, return from the darkness from whence you came!" it wasn't long until the warrior was back to back with her, a few feathers to her half skirt came loose and soon blew past in his direction.
A small fight which now appeared to have turned into a battle was growing more and more tiresome, it had to end as soon as possible. She raised her head, focusing on the enemies whilst the wolf armoured warrior gave his instructions, though she strongly disagreed with it. "No! We mustn't!" she shouted back to him "there are too many innocent lives within that town, to flee shall only lead the enemy to them, I cannot allow that!"
Though after her words were spoken, she began to wonder. Would they possibly have to flee whilst finishing the rest of the enemies? She couldn't just let harm come to anyone, she didn't know if they would give up attacking them or just simply follow them into the town and attack the lives of the innocent.
There had to be some other way, but right now, the enemy was just nearing closer. In a sense, they would have to flee, after all... there was no harm in doing so. Looking to where his sword was pointing, she saw both the opening and the town... however...
That was it! She could just about make out something that appeared to be a cave, the Crystal Fissures as she remembered correctly. They would have to make their way towards there through the countless dark beings, hopefully it would be a fair place to hide for a while before they would head towards the town, and maybe if they were lucky, the people of Radiant Garden would be safe.
"This way!" she shouted as she dashed on ahead, keeping only the back of her visible to him. The army of dark creatures seemed to make the opening smaller at that moment, though this would be her perfect opportunity to try something.
Just as they ran towards her whilst others pounced, she simply jerked her left arm and to great surprise it activated the device on her back, they appeared to be mere seraphim's wings made from steel, anyone would've thought that they were just for show... oh, how wrong they were...
As soon as her arm jerked, the steel bladed wings activated, spreading much like wings should, though only expanded to cover the space of her back and shoulders. Unfortunately, the pouncing dark beings were slain whereas the approaching ones were skewered, soon returning to the darkness.
That was idea one out of the way as she then flicked her arm again, causing the wings to return to how they once were, deactivating them.
Thankfully, she was nearing closer to the cave, there were still dark beings left, though as she hoped before... they would give up and leave. She had to get there, and quite quickly too, considering her energy from using her abilities long before hand was tiring her out.
She continued to swing and slash at the dark foes before she finally made her way out of the crowd. Without a second thought, she made her way to the cave with a dive before crawling over to hide behind a boulder, so far... so good...
Bent over with her hands to her knees, panting a little, she kept her head down, the messy dark and light brown layers hiding her face and circlet stating her rank hidden.
Her only hope now was that the warrior was alright and not far behind.
Chaos. The kind you could only find on a battlefield. The seasoned Wolf Knight kept his self at withstanding the continuous Heartless that tried to break the resolve of both of them. Their attacks so intense that the good man failed to respond in time to her noble argumentation why not to flee for the city. Clearly she did not know about the city's defense systems nor the rich history it has with the Heartless.
Seeing her run off with ample warning he gritted his teeth inside his helmet. Fearing for the impulsiveness of this female warrior. Such sudden actions without giving them much thought were dangerous. But at the same moment, he gave chase to her without hesitating or even considering it. Hurrying across the flat rock bed of the large canyon. He ran as fast as his legs could carry him. Still his speed laid much lower then that of hers since he was more heavily armored. The distance between them grew and Heartless were there eagerly filling the void. Besides the common bred of Shadow Heartless. Other, bigger and stronger version appeared: Armored knights. Feeling the adrenaline pump through his veins and with rising anger the knight ran forth. Not letting any Heartless slow him down as he battled in the wake of the female warrior. Each dark, yellowed eyed monster was met with harsh brutality and the full weight and impact of his longsword, kite shield or even armored body parts. One of the Armored Knights then appeared out of an orb of darkness just as she ran past. Landing in between the two. Swinging it's head back at the approaching knight and ran up to meet hem. Trying to tackle him down to halt his movement and separate the two.
Through the visor of the wolf helmet, Sir Lucas gasped as he tensed up. Continuing to run both were about to clash head on. The Wolf Knight focused. Watching the precise movements of the Armored Knight and waited for the last moment to act. The Armored Knight dove forward trying to grab him by the middle. But he just held back for an instant before impact and jumped up while twisting his upper body round. Their shoulders slammed into each other and through his momentum, Sir Lucas could roll over the back of the Armored Knight. Letting the Heartless fall on the ground underneath him as he swung his legs round and landed on his feet again. With great difficulty he managed to maintain his balance and continue on running toward the entrance of the cave where she had disappeared into.
Leaving the hungry mass of Heartless behind, he also dived into the cave. Entering the crystal fissures he first needed to adjust to the sudden change in lighting. Luckily the cave seemed to be empty. Empty... for a moment a shock of fright jolted through his body as he realized he could not see her anymore. Fearing something had happened to her. He looked back at the entrance. The Heartless did not pursue inside. Remaining outside, patiently waiting. Quickly he ran deeper into the cave. Looking around for where she could be. Running past the large boulder he finally spotted her hiding behind it. Seeing her having her hands to her knees and with her brown hair messed up dangling in front of her face. At first he wanted to channel the stress of the battle out on her. She had spoken not to endanger the citizens of Radiant Garden and in the next moment ran off by herself without even looking back once to see if he would make it.
No single word about this did leave his lips, no single expression of anger or hint of taking it out on her. He was brought up to decently to fall to such unchival manners. The stress of combat was something he found himself to be standing above. With that stress now fleeting away as calm returned. He looked back once more at the entrance of the cave and spoke with a panting voice himself: “I do not believe they follow. We can spare a moment here.”
The wolf's helmet then turned and looked down on her. Kneeling down Sir Lucas brought himself to eye level while his armor shackled in protest. Scratches, scrapes and cuts could be made out covering his entire armor. With an hollow echo coming from within the silvery helmet, he asked finally: “Are thou wounded good Lady?”
"The winds of change blow through my soul, And the warlords try to take control, I will never rely on you, And the pain will hit you... shame on you..."
So foolish. The female warrior remained in her place, still panting whilst at the same time worrying for the wolf knight's life. She already knew that her actions a few moments ago were rather rash, but what did she know about this foreign world? All she thought about was her good intentions.
Placing one of her hands over her chest in hope and whilst catching her breath, she closed her eyes, praying to Seraphinus in hope that the warrior would be safe. She truly hadn't meant for this to happen, though neither did she ask for his assistance... but, then again... she guessed he was doing what any noble warrior would. Though this was a reason why she preferred to fight alone half the time... no one would die in battle along with her if things didn't go too according to plan.
Just before she could even stand to go back for him, but to her relief he had soon entered the cave and was now kneeling opposite her. She sighed as she moved some of her bangs back to wipe any sweat that may have broken out from her brow, only briefly exposing her circlet before her bangs fell back down into place.
She lightly nodded at the warrior's words, she really had no intention of leaving this cave any time soon. "Indeed, for now we shall wait and rest... they may leave in time, or continue to wait," she spoke softly in a serious tone "I highly doubt that they can breach this far, however... my intuition may be deceiving me this very moment."
Rather stoically, she stood up straight after he asked if she was wounded. With her eyes closed, she just merely shook her head before opening her eyes to look at and face him. "Do not worry yourself, noble warrior, I have not received a single scrape from those dark creatures," she said nobley with a part of her bangs covering her right eye, only exposing the one of emerald green.
Placing her only gauntlet fitted hand over her heart, she bowed with both respect and appreciation. "Please... excuse my rash decision back there, what I did was decided through good intentions, I'm afraid I am not quite adapted to the environment around me, do forgive me..." by the time she rose, a look of seriousness and regret plastered her features for only a while. She knew there was not much she could do now other than apologies. What's done is done.
She then turned away from him, taking in her surroundings for now. "I regret leaving you behind, but I wouldn't have run on ahead if I doubted your capabilities on the battle field," a sigh escaped her at that time, she was never one to be so much as a talker.
Though it did leave her pondering on who this warrior was.
"There is no need to apologize, Milady." The tall ironclad warrior said with a deep but monotone voice. "As I first arrived on this strange world, I too was confused and frightened."
The large Wolf Knight sheathed his longsword back into his scabbard. Throwing the kite shield over his back, letting the long leather belt hang it over his shoulder and keep it in place. Giving the knight his hands free. He brought the gauntlets up to the sides of his neck. With a moment of fiddling and then a flick of his fingers, two hinges that keeps the helmet attached to the neckplate became untied. Then he placed his flat palms against the side of the wolf's head shaped helmet and started to lift it up.
Removing his helmet, a pale manly face appeared. Ravenblack dark locks with strands of grey in them, framed the sun ridden appearance. Two mature woodbrown eyes stared down with a serious expression at the young woman.
It is only now, now that he is unhindered by the dark visor that shields his eyes, that Sir Lucas could clearly see how extraordinarily beautiful this woman was. His reaction was a blink and a very short pause in his breath. The noble man quickly whisked the thoughts away as he remained formal.
Bowing his head down in a greeting manner, he stacked his helmet under his arm and spoke: "Milady, I am Sir Lucas Lunaris the VII. Son of the baron of Nordenfrosd. Follower of the Lunar Goddess. Spokesperson of her royal majesty, the Queen Minnie of the castle of Disney. And member of the noble Guardians of the Worlds. It is my chival duty to escort thou to the safety of Radiant Garden."
Taking a short pause in the introduction. He took a step forward. Nearing her as he said on a lower and slightly softer tone: "This city I speak of has lived with the Heartless presence for a long time now. The city has defenses that protects all within it's walls. As well as many able fighters to oppose the Heartless blight. It is imperative we make for this haven while we still are able to."
"The winds of change blow through my soul, And the warlords try to take control, I will never rely on you, And the pain will hit you... shame on you..."
Still standing away from the warrior whilst peeking out of the cave, noticing the dark creatures disappearing due to the long wait, though she was no fool, chances were that they could possibly be trying to find a way in. A doubtful chance, but one that should be taken into consideration.
It was then she turned around, hearing the sound of armour against armour, she was curious to know what may have been occurring. But upon doing so, her first reaction was a short of breath and a step back. Her emerald eye was now focussed on a strikingly handsome man, possibly older than her, but still somewhat youthful despite the streaks in his hair. He appeared to have a rather serious expression, which was fitting for a noble warrior.
He introduced himself, though she wasn't surprised by the importance of this man. Sir Lucas, as he called himself, had the mannerisms, the appearance, and speech of a great warrior and protector. Still, an introduction for an introduction. Forming her index fingers and thumbs into the shape of a heart whilst the rest of her fingers remained spread out, making it appear to be a six winged heart, a formal greeting of her family.
"A pleasure, indeed," she spoke softly, lowering the symbol to her heart and lacing the other remaining fingers together so the wings had closed "I am Lady Séraphie Fáelán, Princess of Seraphinus, Lady of Terra, and the only daughter of King Azriel Alexandrus Fáelán the VI and Queen Evangelina," with those words she broke apart the heart and placed her hands gracefully to her sides, bowing her head in respect to Sir Lucas briefly before setting her gaze on him once again.
He took a step towards her and spoke, she nodded to his explanation, glad to now know that the city has its very own defenses, one less problem to think of. She thought back to what he said earlier one, Séraphie honestly didn't like the idea of being a typical princess being escorted to safety by a warrior, though she knew it was his duty to do so, but she would make a few things clear.
"I truly appreciate your chivalry, dear wolf knight, I am honored to have such a worthy fighter by my side in my time of struggle," she smiled whilst speaking politely "if should ever falter, please do not worry so much about me, I've fought enough times to defend myself, I so would not want to become a burden on your part."
With that, she turned and walked towards an exit of the cave, though did not leave just yet. She looked over her shoulder at him, waiting for a moment. "Would you care to lead the way, Sir Lucas?" she smiled, then looked on ahead. Hopefully none of those creatures would choose to attack them any time soon.
Sir Lucas remained silent at first. His thoughts were turned inward as it took a moment to realize his situation. It dayed to him now that he was standing in the company of a princess. An uneasy feeling washed through his body as the mere fact alone made him nervous. A princess stood so much above him in the hierarchy of nobility. Sir Lucas was worried that somewhere he would made a mistake against etiquette and protocol in how to address her and behave in her presence.
The Kingdom of Seraphinus was unknown to him. As well as the King Azriel Alexandrus Fáelán the VI. It must be another world with it's own rules for it struck him as odd that a princess initially introduces herself as 'Lady' Deducting that would be the proper term to address her from here on out. Still the only daughter of a King is still a very important person and her life was now invaluable more worth then his own.
Being called over at the cave's exit. He stepped up till right passed her and answered with a slight bow of his head: "Yes Lady Fáelán."
Sir Lucas walked till right in the opening of the Cave. Looking outward. Scouting for any hint of danger. The great maw appeared to be a desolate wasteland, abandoned from Heartless. A sharp contrast with the commotion only minutes earlier. Calmly he placed his helmet back over his head. Securing it tight with the latches on the sides. His gauntlet gripped around the shaft of his longsword as he pulled out the dull grey steel from the scabbard. With his left hand, he grabbed the leather belt hanging around his shoulder and flung the kite shield over to his hand. Readying it to block any incoming attack. On the front of his shield and now exposed on the back of his black leather cape. Was the family sign of the Wolf Knight. A white silhouette of a wolf howling to the full moon.
Still he was not ready yet to venture out. One more act of preparation would be done. Raising the sword in front of his face. He nodded his head so that his forehead. Or rather the snout of the wolf's head shaped helmet connected with the blade. Despite the black visor shielded the view of his eyes it was apparent that he had them closed. As he spoke in a soft, nearly mumbling tone a prayer. While speaking those words, a soft glow started to shine from his body and armor. That grew in brightness with each sentence.
"Lunar Goddess, thy children heed to battle once more. Guide our weapons and shield our skin. Clear our minds of doubt and fear. Let us strike your wrath to our opponents. By the power of the moon, make us... ready for battle!"
The soft light that had accumulated onto his body bursted away like an explosion. A growing cloud of magic light that only reached for 10 meters and then died out. Lady Séraphie who was standing in that area. Could feel the beneficial effects of the prayer. As her moral, focus and willingness to fight received a short temporary boost.
Sir Lucas glanced back once more to her as an indication that now was the time to go. He nodded his head in silence and then leaped out of the cave. Landing on his feet he took a stable defensive stance. Expecting an attack the moment he left. The jump was to clear enough room for Lady Séraphie to also leave the cave. He stood there, anxiously waiting for a strike that did not came. With adrenaline pumping through his veins, he looked around for a couple more moments. But as no Heartless appeared he relaxed his stance. And together with Lady Séraphie started to make his way back to Radiant Garden. Continuously remaining on alert and trying to be as silent and unnoticeable as possible.
