In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Vayne smiled as his new friend Xaoc bought the most expensive dessert on the menu, as well as what he knew would turn into several mugs of the frothy, non-alcoholic beverage. He hadn't told the waitress his drink order, but he hadn't needed to. The staff all knew his usual order-- Kupo Nut Cookies and apple soda. He'd been a regular customer of theirs since he'd arrived in the small world.
"You know, refills are free..." he said with a tiny laugh at the end.
When the desserts came, not only did they receive the items they had ordered, but they got a lovely surprise in the form of a large platter with various goodies piled onto it.
"Here ya go, hun!" the waitress said. "Mark said he wanted you to try the new menu item for him-- free of charge, of course!"
It was such a large platter, and it was piled high with goodies that Vayne had suggested in the past. There were miniature candied apples, tiny apple tarts, small glass dishes filled with apple sorbet, and to top it all off, a couple of slices of warm and juicy apple pie.
"Wow, this is amazing Bridgette!" he exclaimed. "Did Mark say what he was planning on calling this?"
"Oh, I think you'll like it, Vayne,"she said. "It's called the Vayne Variety Platter"
A dish named after himself? Vayne had never expected such kindness... Of course, Vayne was so honoured. His ears perked and he sniffled a bit as he began to cry with joy.
Xaoc smiled as the waitress brought over the food, and a surprise for Vayne. A dish made for, and specially named after him. He was so cute in his surprise and happiness. Xaoc felt real happines for him, which surprised her. It had been a long time since she had been happy for another person. She felt like... almost like he was her kid brother or something. She almost wanted to adopt the kid, right then and there. But all she did was put her arm around him, and give him a onehanded hug, saying, "Congratulations, sweety!"

Hmm... Vayne would definately have to taste himself later. He needed to know if he tasted sweet or not. However, that wasn't the most pressing issue at the moment. He was still overjoyed by the fact that he had a dish named after him.
Xaoc-- who he was slowly beginning to feel was more like an older sister than a random girl he'd seen walk out of a Corridor of Darkness-- had wrapped an arm around him to give him a hug, and Vayne hugged her back.
"I can't believe Mark actually listened all those times I suggested food!" he exclaimed.
Vayne took one of the miniature candied apples and popped it in his mouth. It tasted so sweet, but it had all the flavor of a regular sized apple packed into.
"I bet he just used Mini on a bunch of normal apples," Vayne said.
Then he offered an apple sorbet to Xaoc. It wasn't that big-- only about one full scoop in a small dish-- but it was light yellow, and had grated apple zested onto it.
"Bet you can't guess what my favorite fruit is!" Vayne said teasingly.
"Tangerines? Heheheh, just kidding. I bet you love apples. You must have told the cook a lot of food, to get a bag that big." She ruffled his hair, and accepted the apple based desert. she ate it, and a look of pure food based joy crossed her face. "This cook is amazing... And that waitress is so nice... I think they have earned a little something..." SHe snapped her fingers to get the girl's attention. She came over. "Everything okay, ma'am?"
She smiled. "Things are quite perfect, actually. I have a gift for you and the cook." She drew out two more of the foot radius golden rings, and handed them both to the girl. "One for each of you. Solid gold. Don't let anyone see you have those. That is for making him so happy," she said, pointing at Vayne.

Bridgette's eyes went wide when she saw the two gold rings. Nodding she accepted them and ran off, but turned back before she entered the kitchen.
"Vayne, hun, you better thank your friend there," she said.
Vayne turned to Xaoc, and eyed her with a tad more skepticism than he had before.
"Do I wanna know how and where you keep getting those?" he asked.
He already knew both "right" answers-- yes he "wanted" to know, but no he didn't. It was a strange dichotomy of feelings, and he was sure that the older, wiser of the two of them could pick up on that.
"Nevermind..." he said. "So, is there anything else that we just gotta do? I may not know everything about this Town, but I know enough to show you around!"
"My pocket, sweety," she said with a wink. "But don't worry, they are not from anywhere around here," she said, finally digging into the chocolate heart attack from heaveshe had ordered. Another wave of food based pleasure washed over her. "So frikken good," she said, taking another bite. "And the only thing I wanna see for the next few minutes is this chocolate dream..." she quieted down as she ate, happiness on her face, grinning at Vayne. Finally, she finished, and she decided to say it. "You know, you feel to me like you're like the little brother I never had. That doesn't bother you, does it?"

Vayne smiled. The feeling had been mutual-- Xaoc represented an older sibling-figure he had lacked in his youth... Well, his earlier youth.
"It's funny you say that, Xaoc," he said. "I was starting to feel the same way... Isn't that weird?"
Vayne pointed across the mostly empty cobblestone square to a set of imposing doors. They looked less used than the ones that had lead from the Second District to the First.
"That's the way to the Third District," he said. "Beyond that is where I'm staying-- it's called the Zero Distict. Its just an abandoned cottage, but I've been sprucing it up."
Vayne began thinking of all the other places to go, and he remembered the bar where he worked.
"We could also have a go at Dark Intentions," he said. "I can get you in no problem-- normally they ask that Singles wear an X on there left hand."
She knelt to his level, and gave him a hug. "Sweety, you don't know how happy that makes me," she said, tears threatening to brim over. She evaporated them with twin sparks of Chaos. She released him before there where more tears than Chaos. It had been far too long since she had cried last to start now. Then he mentioned a house. The idea of a safe place to sleep appealed to her... but then he mentioned that club. She felt a sudden urge to go there, and another one to cause some trouble, but she didn't want to get Vayne in trouble. "I would like to see the club, sweety," she said with the slightest tremble in her voice. Damn it, what was it about this kid? She was supposed to be Xaoc the Reaper, feared by all, moved by none, but this little boy with kitty ears touched her in a way that no other person had.

"Sweetness!" Vayne exclaimed. "If I go in for overtime, I'll definitely have enough Munny to get that bed."
Vayne gathered up the few tidbits they hadn't eaten and asked Bridgette to hold them for him until he came back to get them. She took them back and Mark came out, slapped Vayne on the back and laughed really loudly then went back into the kitchen. Vayne smiled and grabbed his older sister's hand.
"If you're my older sister, now..." he said, "then I'll have to start calling you Onee-chan." Vayne lead her back to the doors, opened them , and started walking. This time, he went the opposite direction from where they had come from. Vayne was skipping all the way there, bursting with excitement. When they reached the bar, Vayne stopped for a moment to let Onee-chan absorb it all.
The club's front was nothing much except for tinted glass that made everyone on the inside look like dancing Shadows. A light fog rolled out through the open doorway, where a burly man stood next to the roped-off entrance. Couples were allowed in no problem, but "Singles" as they were called-- people without a partner-- had to present their left hand and let the bouncer put an X on it.
At the moment, loud dance music boomed from the heart of the club, making the stone beneath Vayne's feet tremble. He looked at his current outfit; it was his casual songstress costume, but it had gotten a bit dirty from the fighting and the food.
"Awww, I'll have to change outfits..." he said. He wasn't too upset though; the owner had specially ordered his more flashy outfit, and it would knock his new older sister's pants right off.
The real reason she wanted to go to the club was so that she could reove the owner's spine through his rectum for allowing an innocent kid like Vayne in at all, let alone letting him perform, but she knew that she couldn't do that. "And what do I call you, since you're my little brother?" she asked him, happie than she believed possible. As they went through the door, the bouncer stamped her hand. The beat from the music reached into her mind, and urged her to release the inner monster, but she wasn't listening this time. "I'll watch you from the front, okay?"

"Call me 'Oto-kun'!" Vayne said, disappearing into the dressing room. It had once been a large utility closet, but the owner, a man by the name of Daniel, had been insistent that Vayne get a dressing room.
Locking the door, he quickly disrobed and threw it into a laundry hamper in the corner. One of the bartender girls was nice enough to do laundry for him. Opening the closet, Vayne pulled out what Daniel called "the Secret Weapon". Vayne smiled.
"Oh yeah... This is gonna impress Onee-chan!"
In the club, the lights dimmed, and the house music was abruptly cut. People in the crowd began mumbling in confusion, before Daniel came over the loudspeakers of the club.
"Attention, Dark Intentions patrons, he said, "please allow me to welcome back, for an encore performance, Vayne!"
Club regulars began to cheer and whoot as Vayne took his place on the still dark stage. Taking a microphone in hand, Vayne tapped his feet to set the beat for the band.
One... Two... One, two, three--
The lights went on in a flash, revealing Vayne in a layered dress made of pink and black latex for his torso, and pink and black satin for the actual dress. The whole thing came complete with a long black tail to go with his black ears. While it might have been short on an older girl, the skirt came down to Vayne's knees.
Tiny kitten with a name V-A-Y-N-E Please don't call me 'kitty', though All part of my van-i-ty!
As Vayne stepped on stage, Xaoc did a double take. Now he most def looked like a girl. Her eye began to twitch, and she balled up her fists. Dark intentions indeed... She was feeling the distinct urge to slice the entire patronage to ribbons, but she stood there, raging silently, Chaos sparking gently off of her. If it wasn't for the dim lighting, a black aura would be visable. So, this is what her little Oto-kun was subjected to? And he seemed to really enjoy himself! He didn't realize that it wasn't his SINGING the people were cheering. THe urge to start killing became stronger, and she bit her lip to cut through the building Chaos. With effort, she damped down on the energy leaving her body. unfortunately, that left her without a release valve...

All you gotta do for me Just one little favor please? All consuming need to find you Brings me to my knees!
Vayne could spot Onee-chan near the front, like she'd said, but she looked a bit... off. Red sparks were coming from her, and people were trying not to stand too close. Vayne wrote it off as her being a new Single and put it out of his mind as he continued singing and dancing. Remember... Step, twist, step, slide... he thought to himself, making sure he kept the moves correct. He'd made up the dance himself, and Daniel had loved it, saying it fit the beat perfectly.
Far away from all I know Strange town that never sleeps People here know how to party Entirely for keeps
Pinch me, wake me You can't fake me See me, hear me Love and fear me Gotta wake me from my daydream Awaken what I've got within me
Vayne made sure to wave at Onee-chan during the bridge, though a few people nearer to her thought it was aimed at them.
Completely separated from you Don't know where you went to hide Keep on fighting while I find you I think you'll be surprised!
Pinch me, wake me You can't fake me See me, hear me Love and fear me Gotta wake me from my daydream Awaken what I've got within me
As Vayne struck a pose, confetti exploded from a pair of cannons at both ends of the stage and showered the crowd with rainbows of paper. People cheered, some called for an encore, and a few just chanted his name. Vayne struck a victory pose, then walked off stage.
"Oh, yeah, Vayne..." he said to himself. "You done good!"
"Oh, I am going to kill somebody... in the slowest and most painful way I can think of," she said, he voice shaking with the effort of not snapping. She hopped up on the stage, and caught up with Vayne. "Oto-kun, it is time to go home," she said. "Before bad things start happening." Despite her desperate repression, large arcs of red electricity were sparking across her body. "Please, sweety..."

Onee-chan seemed upset. Vayne wasn't sure why she would be, though-- he'd done a pretty good job. At least, he thought he had.
"Alright, then," he said. "Like I said, I live in the Zero District, so we gotta go throught the Third District." Vayne pondered a moment. "'Course... Third District has the highest attack rate..."
He shrugged. Onee-chan had proven herself capable of taking on Heartless before, and even in this outfit Vayne was sure he could fight alongside her. He went to the counter where a bartender girl handed him a sack with Munny.
"Here ya go Vayne!" she said. "Daniel paid you a little extra so you can get that bed you've been eyein'." Vayne nodded enthusiastically and then exited the building. The bouncer waved as Vayne walked down the stairs and around the corner towards the small door the sectioned off Second District from Third.
