In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Arthas Kinohorin~ Guardian of the Worlds, Guard rank Unknown Soldier~Breaking Benjamin "Holding on too tight, Breathe a breath of life, so I can leave this world behind"

Light footfalls echoed through the lonely alleyway leading to the Third District, and the occasional sigh could be heard as Arthas approached the wall overlooking the square. Upon reaching it, he climbed up it and sat down, taking a bite out of the ice cream he had just brought back from Twilight Town. Lately he hadn't been having the best of times, due to the lack of visits with Kyrie combined with his recent mission in Port Royal. As he leaned to take a bite, the angel wing necklace around his neck fell, hanging in front of him, and he grabbed it between two fingers.
"I guess she's on a mission or something...some Guardian I've been. Perhaps I should ask Max or Mikhail where she is...no, it wouldn't do any good." The warrior mumbled to himself for a while, then put the necklace back inside his cloak and took the last bite of his ice cream, about to ignite the stick. But he realized the word Winner on the stick, and pocketed it, a small smile forming.
And then frowned when the sound of something behind him caught his attention. He was facing the wall now, having jumped down, and turned, realizing ahead of time he was cornered...
and saw nothing. With a puzzled look, he looked around, a fire aura forming on his right hand, just in case.
Come to me, Arthas...
The whisper seemed to be calling him from the fire door, and he approached it, not even noticing the Heartless really appearing.

Everything was ready. She'd said her final farewells, stayed up the entire night... or at least, the time of the day dedicated to night in Traverse Town. Helena was on a relative high. Though she knew she'd be leaving soon, only a few hours from now, that girl had done all she desired to accomplish here. It was high time to move on to somewhere else, to greater victories and to better worlds... Feeling fresh though she'd been up for hours upon hours, Helena rushed through the Districts one last time, starting from the Third District, weaving through all those streets one last time... The memories were now new again in her mind. She remembered every instance, every moment here in this strange world that didn't see daylight...
And now it was time to make one last memory.
There was a blonde-haired boy in front of her, approaching the door with the picture of a flame upon it. He wore some kind of black cloak that touched the ground; Helena couldn't see his eyes nor much else. Heartless were creeping up behind him, silent as the grave... Helena unleashed Phoenix Feathers, knowing their intent. They wanted his heart; that much was certain. They were all Shadows, all fairly stupid for not realizing the tsundere's presence for quite a while, but they were definitely sneaky. There was about three total, a small group of hunters.
For the first time, Helena was able to set her blade aflame without the snap of her fingers. She realized this would probably be the last time she'd be able to accomplish this feat and took advantage as soon as possible. Nearly silently, her blade's edge met the Shadows. In a grand total of five swipes, they were gone. The flames covering her blade ran out instantly afterward. Phoenix Feathers found its holster again and entered with a quiet shiff. The ribbon trailing after it billowed in the breeze.
She turned as if to leave, but the girl had what seemed like all the time in the world.
For some reason, Arthas half expected Kyrie to be behind him when he turned to the sound of fighting, and saw fire swiping through the air, and a female figure behind the blazes. He started to reach out, then stopped as the Shadows disappeared and the fire was brought back towards the stranger. He saw that it was indeed not Kyrie, but another girl he had never met before.
"Thank you." As the girl turned, he said those words, then frowned, finding something mysterious. Why would somebody who just saved him from injury just walk away. He assumed that if he kept talking, she would turn back around and at least say "You're welcome."
Instead, right as he opened his mouth, a sharp scent of darkness caught his attention, and he watched as a Large Body appeared behind the girl and started to swing at the girl. Before it could, though, Arthas used the fire aura around his hand and enveloped Marumasa in fire, then activated the Terra Crystal hanging from his blade, swinging as it began to turn to crystal. The Large Body turned, and he stabbed through its stomach, falling to a knee to dodge a swing.

As the girl turned, she recognized the presence of something large. Helena knew that the Third District was the most dangerous, but she never thought that she'd be in this big of trouble. Just as she unleashed Phoenix Feathers once more, the presence was gone. The dark-haired girl turned her head to see quite a sight. That guy--the one she'd saved previously--had downed the big Heartless on sight. Yet, he hadn't noticed the other Heartless, which may have been the most tragic error had Helena not stepped in. Phoenix Feathers found its sheath once again. "All right, you've impressed me.
"I'm not much of a people-person, but since it's my last time in Traverse Town, at least let me have a name. Mine's Helena Mitsuko. You're welcome, by the way, and thank you." The words held the presence of a slight taste of bitterness, yet they were sweet with sincerity. Helena touched the ribbon trailing from Phoenix Feathers, noticing that it was stained by blood. She brought her hands up to her face and noticed that her knuckles were trickling with blood. Was I really holding my sword that tightly...? Self-conciously, Helena wiped her knuckles off on her pants mostly inconspicuously.
She noted that she hadn't seen this guy around, but Helena knew that most people who lived around the Third District didn't investigate the door with the flame on it. Maybe most of them didn't even know the door was there. Helena had always seen it, and this guy had seen it, too. Did he regularly visit this part of town? How come she didn't see him earlier? Helena felt that this was rather odd, but instead of wondering she focused her efforts on formulating these questions in her mind so she could ask him.

[[OH WOW TT______TT I'm sorry, I never saw this until today TT______TT]]
"Arthas, huh? No, I haven't seen a girl with white hair. I don't go about Traverse Town looking at people... I fight. I save. That's what I do." Fighting was pleasurable, to say the least. The raven-haired girl felt like she could take on anything as long as she had a sword by her side. Formal training was irrelevant. As long as one knew what their best fighting style was and had a lot of experience, they were just as good as anyone else, at least in her opinion. "I grew tired of Traverse Town a long time ago. These people don't appreciate my efforts. They go on with their lives without changing a damn thing about themselves... People never change, really. We'll always be the same deep down."
That much, at least, she could admit for herself. She was aware that her base personality still lived at her core. Deep down, Helena still cared about people, especially her friends. But she realized that she needed to keep her heart guarded; if not, someone would come along and throw her back into fiery despair. Hero was the only one who had gotten her to place her trust in him. She was a tad bit more open, now, but just barely. The girl doubted there was anyone else who would make her feel the same way.
"And now, a question for you: why approach a magic door in the Third District? You nearly got yourself killed." The words were scornfully glacial, but at their base, concerned. Before, she had claimed that the old Helena was dead and gone... But now, more than ever, the tsundere was absolutely sure that this wasn't the case. Her old personality reached out through her new one. She wanted to care, truly, but she just wasn't ready for that... not yet.
