Examining the Darkness (Seed, PM)

Rose sat on the water feature, with Halen next to her. She focused, trying to tap into her connection with him. She could feel it, and him, in her heart, but reaching out and grabbing ahold of that...

A small amount of darkness floated off of her hand. She smiled. It was odd, but when she used the connection, she was able to make darkness. When Halen used it, he could make light. She turned over her hand as the small flickering dark aura moved like a tiny fire on her hand.

"We gotta figure out this thing we got, Halen... It could make us so much stronger, if we could just figure out how to use it..."

Halen looked at her, and nodded. Imitating her, he held out his hand, and accessed the connection as well. Light began to flicker from his palm. We make work.[/b]

It wouldn't be a normal week, hell, a normal month for Seed as long as Myde decided to churn Seeds emotions like a veritable maelstrom of malice. Seed gritted his teeth as he walked out of the portal, hands in pocket and jacket hood up. Anyone walking by would only guess he was a troubled man running about some bad luck in life and most likely leave him alone, and that's exactly what Seed wanted to be right now. Alone...alone with Leiz really.

"To much to ask for wanting to be with someone isn't it..." the emerald Heartless sighed as he continued his stroll around Traverse Town. He thought he would have been at Leiz by now, he sensed the mans presence nearby but it was like he was destined to not see his boyfriend ever again. Not even noticing, Seed had a very hurt look on his face. He could feel it, but didn't know he was portraying it.

"That witch put to much into that...thing,"[/i] he walked down the stairway and sensed something rather odd. Darkness and Light in one spot, what each was coming from was what surprised Seed. A Heartless emitting Light and a Human emitting Darkness; Seed narrowed his eyes and walked over to the two sitting on the fountain.

He stood in front of the Heartless, leaned over to get on and eye to eye level and stared at it, not caring if he was creeping them out. He looked for any kind of reason why Light was coming from this being, there were swirls of white on the being but the emerald Heartless thought it was some kind of tattoo to make this particular Neo-Shadow stand out but now it seemed to be more.

Seed finally spoke up, "That's not normal, if you were to come into contact with Light your body would have been destroyed...so....why isn't it" he gave an examining poke to the Neo-Shadow to see if it was even a real thing and not him finally losing it.

Halen looked up, sensing a powerful Heartless. A Human-shape, a rare thing indeed. He tilted his head, and poked the other Heartless back. His white lines shifted across his body, coming to rest on his torso. Something was different about this Humanshape... He didn't feel like the others, not even Ienzo. There was something much more human than Heartless about him. Of course, this was a difficult concept for Halen to express on the best of days. You different... Like me.[/b] he said.

Rose picked up on Halen's senses, and realized this guy was a Heartless. She raised an eyebrow when he poked Halen, and chuckled slightly when Halen poked him back. Just like the Neoshadow to have such an irreverent attitude. "His name is Halen, if you care to know. I'm Rose," she said to the green haired Heartless.

Seed was taken back a bit when the other Heartless spoke to him. He gave another poke to the Heartless and spoke back to it, "You could say that...Halen, I'm far from a normal Heartless...but as are you." he barely noticed Rose there and only looked up and gave a cold, "Hi" to her and went back to the Heartless.

Something of this caliber really perked Seeds interest. It reminded of him when he kidnapped Yulia to bring to Elaeus to extract her heart of light to see what made it tick. He eyed the Heartless entire being, the swirling white lines seemed to be the source of his light given powers. But the thing that confused Seed was why, why had light been driven into the Neo-Shadow and it not die.

"Rose, where did you find Halen" he never eyed the woman as he asked the question. His hood was still up and his sleeveless jacket blew in the new wind that came through.

"He came to me. He came to my world. Left his portal open when he did, and I used it to escape. Ended up in Radient Garden, in the canyon. We were all set to kill each other, but... I dunno what happened, but now..." She shrugged. She knew what question was coming next. "We share a connection of the heart, something called Resonance. No idea what it means, but it has some interesting applications. So, what's your name?"

Halen poked Seed back again. This was a fun game. But, the other Heartless wasn't having fun. He was sad. Halen felt a longing that had nothing to do with the hunger normal Heartless felt. He didn't even notice the question. He just looked at the Heartless. Why sad?

As interesting as Roses story about the two beings being connected through a heart string theory, Seed was still curious on Halen. What exactly was he? He didn't have a mouth but yet words came out of him, he was born of darkness but instead wielded light as a weapon. "So," it was said as soon as Rose finished, giving the faint impression he actually meant to interrupt her.

"That's it? Not very interesting. Oh, name's Seed. Pleasure, blah blah ya hello..." the emerald Heartless traced a finger along the white pattern on Halen. Much to his surprise it began to burn after a few seconds; so this was light energy flowing through the Neo-Shadow. He was about to remark again on the oddness of the whole situation when Halen questioned Seeds emotional state.

"Why sad?"

The emerald Heartless almost scoffed and deflected the question but he knew that Halen could easily read Seed as easily as the emerald Heartless could read Halen. The Neo-Shadow sensed that Seed was distraught about being away from Leiz. Might as well answer the Neo-Shadow.

"Not sure sad is the right word to use Halen...it's just, I miss someone. He was supposed to be here, but" again the hurt and lonely look fell upon Seeds face without him realizing. He turned his head to the side, looking down, almost ashamed that he was feeling so connected to a Human.

"Guess he's not..."

Halen nodded, understanding. He would miss Rose if she was gone and he couldn't find her. He shifted his light away from Seeds finger, knowing it was hurting the other Heartless. then he felt shame touch Seeds heart. It confused him. WHy should he be ashamed to be connected to a human? Why wasn't he with his human? Halen thought hard, trying to find a way to voice this question with his limited vocabulary.

Rose sensed what he wanted though. "He wants to know why you don't just stay with your human, like he does," she said for him. "He thinks its odd to be connected to someone and not be with them wherever they are." She tilted her head, unconsciously imitating Halen's questioning look. "Actually, it's a pretty good question..." Interested, but affecting a bored attitude, she tapped back into Halen's heart, and began toying with the little dark aura again. Without really paying attention, Halen did the same, connecting to her, and causing light to flicker once again from his hand.

Seed almost snapped at the two for saying that he and Leiz were like a pet and its owner being separated. His jacket rippled in the wind and the hood fell down, his longish green hair falling down over his shoulders and his bangs falling delicately in front of his face. The sad, hurt look was replaced by a more annoyed and reclusive one. He stepped away from the two and replied,

"He's not a pet!, just because I miss him doesn't mean he's some dog who ran away..." his arms crossed and narrowed eyes boring into Halen and Rose, just needing half a reason to go off again. But he knew it wouldnt do any good, getting upset every time someone made a comment on him and Leiz is the worst thing he could do.

"It's more...complicated than that. Leiz, he and I...well, we...err..." he rubbed the back of his head in a nervous anticipation. Seed had never actually said aloud he was dating a human, much less a human MALE. Everyone knew him as the womanizer but he never bragged of his other consorts;for good reason.

"I'm...dating him..." his hand still rubbing the back of his neck. He stood there, waiting to be belittled, made fun of for being with another guy, a Human. A gaze fell over to Halen, Seed expecting the first of the bashing to come from him.

Rose smiled, unruffled at the outburst. It took a lot more than yelling at her to scare her. "I wasn't suggesting anyone was a pet. Halen isn't my pet, though he sometimes acts like it. He's my friend. And, as for dating, trust me on this one, I have seen much stranger things in my life than anything you could throw at me. If you like him, and he likes you, why the hell shouldn't you date?" She got where the guy was coming from. Many a time she and Halen had had to fight because people automatically assumed they were evil. "I'm learning the rules of this universe pretty good, and one of those rules is the Heartless are unfeeling, unthinking monsters. However, there is a rule that no one seems to remember. Every rule has exceptions. Halen is one of them. You're another..." She trailed off, thoughtful, then glanced at Halen. He looked at her, and they both nodded. If it had worked for Antique, it might work for Seed. Though, he might need to acclimate...

Halen placed his hands on both his own and Rose's chests. He focused for a moment, then pulled gently. A small orb of light came out of them both, and Halen quickly put them together. Rose winced slightly. "That stings a little... Something I've learned from Halen is Heartless can recover the Light in their hearts. As they do so, they regain the emotions they once had in life. Normally, the process takes centuries, but with a little outside help... Well, it's up to you, if you want this or not." Cupping his hands, Halen held the small orb of light out to Seed. "And, don't worry, this shouldn't hurt you in the slightest, or weaken you. After all, it comes from another Heartless."

Seed was kinds surprised that all Rose did was shrug off what he just said, he had grown so use to being made fun of by Myde he assumed it was how everyone else would react when they heard. Twilight Town didn't hesitate to let Seed know they thought even less of the Heartless than they already did when Seeds own darkness let it known to the citizens. He gave an awkward chuckle when Rose finished speaking and was about to question Halen again from what Rose had told him but before he could the two did something odd. They formed...light?

"How did you..." the emerald Heartless began to question as he walked up to Halen holding the small orb of light. Seed took it in his hands and to his surprise it didn't burn, but with Maleficent magic inside him taking this inside him as well would most likely destroy him.

"Whatever this is...I can't use it. A witch already helped me and using this with her magic may very well tear my body to shreds. So I think, I'll just hold on to it for now." he compressed space around the orb and sent it into his room at the Dark Castle with a note floating in front of it, "Touch this Sol, and I'll make sure you never leave this place...so please don't"

Being close to Halen, Seed again traced a finger along the white lines; ignoring the small burn. It was all to curious, that this one Neo-Shadow broke almost all the rules of what a pureblood heartless was. But then again, Seed wasn't exactly a normal Humanoid Heartless either.

"Could you two always do this? I mean, doesn't his innate darkness try and take over?"

He couldn't use it? Heh, somehow, she doubted that was totally true. Not that fact that he thought he couldn't, but the fact that he actually couldn't. "Yeah, hold on to it. You never know, you know?"

"I don't know, to be perfectly honest. He had some of his light back to begin with when I met him. I would prefer not to find out, actually, but his light seems to be constantly growing anyways. But, except for the first thirty seconds I knew him, he has always been a nice guy." She looked at him, thinking. From what she had seen, Heartless like Halen were so rare as to be almost nonexistent...

"But, like I said, it's taken Halen a long time to reach this point. About a century. Which is odd in and of itself, because most Heartless don't survive that long... Then again, he's a bit of an oddball," she said with a joking smile. She reached out, and scratched behind one of his antennae affectionately. He leaned into her hand, and made a slight purring noise, almost like a giant cat. "I don't know all that much about him, except that he is much stronger and smarter than your average Heartless. Heh, honestly, he doesn't know all that much about him either. Seriously, you should see his sword... Halen." The Neoshadow held up his hand, and a falchion made of slid darkness appeared in it. "Like I said, smarter than the average Heartless.

The emerald haired heartless was still rather confused about Halen as a whole. But hearing Rose say more and more only fed the fire of Seeds confusion; would he never be ceased to be amazed by what he could find in the worlds. For all he knew this Heartless in front of him was the answer to life itself, to be frank Seed would find that be the least ironic thing right now.

"For a Pureblood Heartless, yeah, I would say that is a long time. Not so much for the higherups, sorry Halen, but even with all your...uniqueness higher-up Heartless could easily take you down. Don't worry, I'm not like them, as you could easily tell." now Seed wanted to test something out, if he could hear Halens voice in his head just by the pure will of the Neo-Shadow, could Seed make such a connection himself? Would it be possible? Couldn't hurt to try,

"Halen, if you can hear this. Does the name Ansem or the Dark XII have any meaning to you?"[/i] with any luck no one else knows about this Heartless. The emerald heartless had a feeling he would be meeting these two later on, hopefully with his life in better working order.

Halen tilted his head, then nodded. Rose spoke up. "Yeah, we've been told about them. In fact, I know Ienzo... We hung out a little in Radiant Garden, back when I first got here. I trust you'll keep that quiet though, I'm sure none of them would like the idea of one of their number having human freinds. And, yes, I heard you. He conducted your question. He does that, when he has no idea how to answer... Right Halen?" THe neoshadow nodded happily. Rose smart,[/b] he said. "Course it isn't quite telepathy that he can do... I've done a little research, and I'm guessing he actually speaks to a person's heart, and the heart broadcasts his words to the mind." Halen looked at Seed, peering into his mind. Why ask?[/b] he asked.

"Interesting..." he whispered to himself. Seed would really love to sit and talk more to this Heartless, but he was too distracted from his original reason for being here he forgot to seek out Leiz. Who, from what Seed could tell was still here.

"Why ask?"

The emerald heartless almost gave a very long winded explanation on who Ansem was but he figured that might be too much for them both. "Well, he'd try and collect you. Which me meeting you is a double edged sword...but if asked I'll just say it was a normal Neo-Shadow and a girl. Nothing more." he had his shoulders up in a shrug and his hands out-turned. He could easily distract Ansem with information about Marluxia being a spy for the XII in secret.


He was about to speak again but he sensed Leiz leaving the world and the hurt and lonely looked again made itself known and Seed sighed. Too much time was spent talking to these two and now he was further away from Leiz. Just perfect, he put his hands in his jacket pockets and sighed heavily.

"Collect us? ... Okay... That sounds weird... Perhaps not mentioning us at all is a good idea... After all, I wouldn't wanna have to shoot any of your friends..." Rose said, frowning. THen the Heartless suddenly looked sad, and alone... It kinda made her wanna hug him... She wasn't sure why... He sighed. "Hey, you okay?"

Halen looked at his new friend, and felt his sadness. He reached out, and patted his shoulder. Is okay. You find soon.[/b] he said, trying to cheer Seed up.
