In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Synthest ducked and dived as the flurry of snowballs danced around him. The powdery snow under his feet was kicked into the air, creating a snowscreen that hampered his dodging abilities, and considering the snowballs flying his way weren't... aimed, then their trajectory was in no way being hampered. The blue-eyed teen ducked behind the nearest solid structure he could find and sighed with relief. It was only then he noticed a moving figure beside him. It was that girl with the phoenix... (Helena) He gave a curt wave before picking himself up from the snow. Soaked, he let a surge of heat through his body, and the water almost immediately evaporated.
He peered over the edge of the fort then looked to the phoenix girl. His gaze didn't leave as his breath crystallized before him. Her eyes were really nice. He'd never seen that texture before... For some odd reason, it reminded him of looking at clockwork, the bronze and golden cogs working in sequence, closely meshed- His eyes dropped back to the field without a word. Those eyes reminded him of an old friend. A small smile flickered across his face as his own strangely luminescent eyes closed. Time to stop thinking about the past, Syn. Follow your own advice.
The un-aging teen formed a quick sphere of snow in his hand and let it fly like a grenade towards his enemies.

In the midst of all of the conflict, Helena found that she was... what was it... enjoying herself? It came as a surprise to the girl who had been completely apathetic and even suicidal ten minutes before. Funny, how fire and snow, such opposite elements, could combine to make the tsundere do a complete 180. She had compared herself to the two elements often. On the outside, she was as harsh and as frigid as winter could be. However, whatever was caged up inside of her was the complete opposite--an inferno of emotion, a flurry of warmth. Perhaps Artemis was the embodiment of this happier, kinder Helena. If so, the raven-haired girl had the oddest feeling that maybe, the flames were finding footholes in the frost...
And for a moment, she smiled.
The action seemed to come to a grinding halt. It appeared as if time froze around her, though she knew that was not the case. However, her focus was placed entirely on Artemis, now. All else became silent and still, just background noise in this singular moment. Fiery eyes looked up at rust-like orbs longingly. A small crackle escaped from the similarly small bird. It sounded almost pained, as if... Helena's eyes widened in surprised. There was a cold, heartless breeze. The bird of flames, hovering over the girl's worn black jeans, flickered, and, in silence, he went out.
Her expression dulled. The smile on those pale lips faded. She dropped the snowball from her hands, both reddened from handling the slush without any mittens or gloves. The noise and movement resumed without much notice. Up at that point, the tsundere had concluded that she didn't care anymore. The world, her attitude, her heart, everything--they'd all become much... colder.
Rising to her feet, Helena was pegged with a snowball in the chest, but the game was meaningless to her, now. She walked back to the lamp post where she had been found and picked up her dulled xiphos, returning her father's sword to its proper location. Silently, emotionlessly, coldly, she headed into the nearest building, a coffee shop whose name the tsundere didn't really care to know.
...this is why I told myself I'd never feel again... this heartbreak... it's...
Her first snowball managed to only hit the boot of the cat-eared boy, and Haruka let out an agrivated huff. This was going to be harder than she thought. She quickly ran and leaped behind the snowfort opposite of the other boy's team, and began making more snowballs to throw. Of course, most of her throws missed, but Haruka did manage to land a few marks on the other team. Her confidence mounting with every laugh and smile of the other players, Haruka felt less and less out of place, and she began to enjoy herself. Ducking down to avoid a well aimed snowball, Haruka took a moment to survey her own team members.
There was a boy and two other girls besides herself. The one girl seemed young, but then again, looks could be deceiving. She was throwing snowballs with the full spirit of the moment surging through her, and Haruka could feel her happiness reverberating through her heart. The younger girl's mood lighted Haruka's own, and she smiled even wider at the other girl's delight.
The boy was tall, though everyone seemed tall to Haruka, since she was pretty small for her age. He seem very in to the snowball match, but he still took some time to notice his comrades every once in a while. He looked about Haruka's age, but she was getting some vibe off him that made her suspect that he was older than he appeared. He gave off a feeling of warmth that seem to come from the core of his being, and Haruka wouldn't have been surprised if he had some internal fire burning in him. At this though, she wondered why someone like him would even want to be out in cold weather like this, but she was distracted when she saw him place his attention to the other, older looking girl in the group. Haruka watch with concealed awe as the boy suddenly lit a fire in his hands and held it out the the girl, who had been surprisingly silent for most of the fight. Haruka assumed that the boy was trying to keep this girl warm, since she wasn't wearing any gloves, until she got a glance at what the girl was holding in her hands.
This girl was different from the other one in their squad. Her brazen gold eyes seemed metalic, almost cold, and she gave off a feeling of emptiness that Haruka couldn't explain. There was an occasional flicker of something in her eyes when the younger girl involved her in their play, but she otherwise looked solemn and reserved, as if she didn't really want to be there. Her demeaner changed to something happier, however, when would glance down at the tiny creature in her hands. Haruka's eye widened when her mind finally registered what the glowing object in the girl's hands was.
The creature was small, about the size of an egg, and glowed brightly as it burned in the girl's hands. The tiny bird occasionally made a small chirping sounds, and seemed delighted when the boy fed it flames from his own hands. There was only one creature that Haruka knew of that fit the description of this tiny bird. It was a pheonix, one of those mysterious life forms that one rarely comes across and imprints itself into your mind forever. The sight of it was breathtaking, even if it was only a small representation of those magestic birds. Haruka would have loved to gaze at it for hours if she hand't been hit in the back of the head with another well-aimed snowball. Forcing her mind back to the present, Haruka whipped around and hurled a snowball back towards the opposing team, laughing at there expressions. She managed throw a few more before something made her stop.
She felt something, something strange, as if something had been snuffed out or exstinguished. She turned around and looked at the girl holding the pheonix, only to find that the bird was gone, and the forelorn look on the girls face had morphed into that of someone with a deep, abiding ache in their heart.
Haruka's face changed into a mask of concern as she watched the girl slowly stand and turn away from the game, ignoring the snowball that hit her as she stood. Haruka wondered what had happened to the bird the girl was holding, as well as why the girl's mood had suddenly plummeted. She turned to the others, hoping they could shed some light on the other girl's reaction.

(as far as I can tell ppl are just posting whenever so long as it's not twice in a row, so I think you can go if you wanted. But we may need helena to post since she's kind of driving the story right now with her walking away from the game)
