In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Vapor noticed the look in her eye change as soon as he asked. He began to think asking wasn't such a good idea. Her eyes showed a distinct sadness, yet she had a smile on her face. Then her answer came: "I got this when I was young. My brother was teaching me how to fight and his sword broke giving me this scar when his strike connected." Vapor quickly figured that her sadness was related to her brother, and that her locket likely contained a picture of him due to the fact that she clung to it after she finished speaking.
He really wanted to ask about her brother, but he felt it may push her to tears, and he didn't want that. She was already close enough as it was. Instead Vapor looked to the sky, trying to fight his curiosity so that he didn't ask Leandra about her brother, and waited for something to happen.

Leandra looked at Vapor and noticed that he was looking up at the sky. She looked up at the sky as well but didn't see anything. She wondered what he was looking it and looked back at him confused."What are you looking at Vapor?" She asked deciding not to tease him this time.
For some reason it seemed like he was waiting for something. But Leandra wasn't able to tell what he was waiting for.
He looked back at Leandra when he heard her voice. "What are you looking at Vapor?" She must have been confused by him looking at the sky, which was as blue as always and was lacking in clouds. He did this quite a lot, and wasn't quite sure of the reason himself. "Oh, nothing."
Still fighting his curiosity of wanting to know about Leandra's brother, Vapor decided it would be best for them to go do something. They could do with doing something rather than just standing there, something interesting and fun possibly. "So, now what?"

Leandra thought about exactly that as Vapor asked his question. What could they do now? If she had met him a year ago they could fight the heartless in the city. But with the security system now set up there were very few places left that had heartless. Most of those places were out of the way.
She smirked after thinking that. Even if they were out of the way it would still be fun. Plus this way she could see how good of a fighter her new friend was. After all even though she was on the receiving end of his attacks she believed that he was holding back just as she was. "How about we go hunt some heartless?" She asked smiling planning on making it a competition if she had to.
Heartless hunting? That sounded like as good of an idea as any. Vapor nodded. "Sure." He smiled, and began to walk.
It took but a few seconds for his mind to click. The defense system. Where were they going to find Heartless? He stopped and spun around, to face Leandra, and asked "Where, exactly?" Hoping she had some sort of idea on where they could find some. Vapor knew of a couple places to find Heartless, but they were quite some distance from the two's current location. So he just stood with a slightly puzzled look on his face, awaiting an answer from Leandra.

Leandra's normal smirk returned as Vapor asked "Where, exactly?". She had the perfect place in mind where there never seemed to be a shortage of Heartless of varying difficulty. "The Great Maw. There are plenty of Heartless there and we could make it into a competition to see who can defeat the most." She said excitedly.
Now most people would probably confuse her excitement for bloodlust. But Leandra wasn't really a blood thirsty person. Did she enjoy battle? Of course she did she was a soldier at heart. However she did not hunger for battle. She just had gotten used to it to the point that she saw it as fun to have battles that could double as competitions.
"The Great Maw." Now there was an answer Vapor was half expecting, but the part added on wasn't anywhere near as expected. "We could make it into a competition to see who can defeat the most." This kinda surprised him. "A competition, huh." He thought, "Well, it couldn't do any harm." Something that caught Vapor's attention was her unusual amount of excitement. Fair enough it was exciting to fight, but she seemed a bit too excited. But he just decided to think nothing of it. Instead, he set off in the direction of The Great Maw, signalling for Leandra to follow. "A competition sounds fun."

Leandra smiled while following Vapor towards the Great Maw. This was going to be fun. She hadn't really known anyone that she could have a competition like this with so she was even more excited. She knew that she had very few offensive skills but she was confident in the abilities she had. "Hehe this is going to be fun." She said happily.
Leandra smiled as they arrived at the Great Maw. This was the perfect place to have a competition like this. She ran forward and jumped right into battle as several Shadow and Soldier Heartless surrounded her. She cut down a few Shadows and Soldiers down before jumping up and flipping backwards over them and extending her left hand. "FIRE!" She shouted launching the fireball into the group of heartless and hitting a couple of them. Before she charged back in she looked over in Vapor's direction.
The Great Maw. Vapor hadn't been here for quite some time. Well, he hadn't a reason to, because he had never had an excited green haired girl who wanted to have a Heartless fighting competition with him. He had a look around at his surroundings. The same blue crystal cliffs as always. It never changed here. And neither did the Heartless; due to the lack of a defense system outside of the town, they were free to roam however they pleased. And that was perfect for the two.
He stopped admiring the scenery when he heard a shout from Leandra: "FIRE!" Vapor looked to her to see she was already surrounded by multiple Shadows and Soldiers. "She can handle herself.." He thought, and started walking toward and empty area and, almost immediately, Heartless spawned around him. He whipped out his daggers, and stood, awaiting the Shadows and Soldiers to make their move. Which didn't take long. A couple Shadows lunged for him, he sidestepped and swung at the closer one with his dagger. The hit caused the Shadow to disappear. "That's one. Now for the other fifty." He thought, looking the growing numbers of Heartless surrounding him and Leandra.

Leandra smirked before slicing through another shadow destroying it. She blocked an oncoming attack from a soldier. She got scratched by a shadow from behind and jumped away hissing in pain. She let out a growl as she charged forward again aiming to take out as many heartless as she could. 'Shit shit shit.' She thought to herself as the number of heartless kept growing.
She managed to just barely roll out of the way as a Dark Ball rushed at her. She quickly got up and blocked it's next attack then destroyed another two shadow heartless. 'Ok that's fifteen of the weak ones now how to avoid getting overwhelmed by the weak ones while taking out the strong one.' She thought to herself lashing out at the Dark Ball and focusing on her swords ability. She smirked as her sword glowed and she held the sword in both hands. "Now comes the real fun. Shift Change!" She yelled out as the magical energy completely surrounded her and her sword turned into it's giant Scythe form.
She lashed out with the scythe chopping the Dark ball in half perfectly. She smirked as it vanished back into the darkness before she charged at the smaller heartless. She cut through them with ease smirking as she kept count of how many she had taken out with her Scythe.
"Four, five, six.." Vapor thought, as he slashed his way through the seemingly never ended number of Heartless, "Ten, eleven, twelve.." He could tell he was going to lose count soon. Just then, he heard yet another shout from Leandra. "Shift Change!" He quickly glanced over to see her sword had transformed into a large scythe, which appeared to be much stronger as it cut through a Darkball with ease. "Daamn, she must have been holding back against me.."
Luckily, Vapor's attention turned back to the job at hand just in time. He turned back to the Heartless surrounding him, to see a Shadow within touching distance of his face. "Oh, fuck." He mumbled. He ducked, and avoided the attack, except for one of the claws which scraped across his back. He flinched slightly from the pain, but immediately spun to demolish the Heartless. He smirked, and continued slashing his way through the Shadows and Soldiers.
It was then that two Darkballs appeared. One each side of him. He glanced at each of them, and saw they were both starting the fly in towards him. He jumped back just before they hit him, avoiding getting hit. The Darkballs flew into each other at quite some pace, stunning themselves. Vapor took this opportunity to charge a couple Aqua Shots and fire one off at each Heartless. He ran in after the spheres of water, and slashed down in an 'X' shape across the two Darkballs, destroying them both. "Heh.. That makes 19 and 20."

Leandra charged forward at the heartless slashing through them with her scythe. She managed to move out of the way as a couple more Darkballs charged at her. She smirked as they collided with each other and dazed one another. She swung her scythe and in one swift motion sliced them in two. "Heh that makes 29 and 30." She said before returning to slicing heartless in half.
Vapor was happily slashing his way through the endless spew of Heartless, when he noticed something. He wasn't counting, meaning the inevitable had happened: He'd lost count. He was having so much fun killing Heartless that he'd forgotten how many he'd actually killed. This could be a problem, seeing as the whole idea of the competition was to see who could kill the most Heartless, so not knowing how many you've killed kinda means you lose by default. "Oh well.." He thought, "I'd probably have lost anyway."
Since he had lost count, he decided it seemed a bit pointless to continue with the slaughtering of Heartless, and started to make his way over to Leandra. She seemed to be enjoying herself, swinging around her scythe amidst the Heartless. Once Vapor had reached Leandra, he started helping her fight away the ones near her, and then asked her "How you doing?"

Leandra was now back to slicing through Heartless with her sword and parrying attacks when needed. She was a little disappointed that she lost count after reaching 43 but she didn't really care. She was to focused on taking out the heartless. She barely noticed as Vapor made his way to her. She smiled as he helped her fight them.
"How you doing?" She heard him ask as they fought back to back. "Unfortunately I lost count after 43. How about you?" She asked while blocking an Armored Knight that had just appeared. She kicked the heartless in the chest and then cut it in half.
So she had lost count too. But after quite a bit longer than Vapor. "Lost count.." He started, but paused to block a Soldier with his left hand, and stab it in the face with his right. "..Around 25." He finished.
He took a brief moment to observe their surroundings. Although there wasn't much to observe. Heartless. And lots of them. Somehow, the two had made it a considerable distance away from where they started, and all there was from where they were back to where they started was Heartless. Vapor wasn't too concerned about whether or not they'd get back safe, but more about how long it would take. He turned to Leandra, and asked "Should we go?"
