In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Many of you know that I am a rider - though it likely means something different to you than it does to me - and one or two of you know I've been on a very stressful horse hunt for the past few months. It's been killing me, but with my own boy bordering retirement age and show season just around the corner, I've been practically pushing the limits of my sanity to find the right equine in time. My budget's low for the jumper world, and it hasn't been easy.
We (my trainers and I) finally found someone promising, and brought him to the park last week for a week trial. There's probably not many here who are familiar with the trialing process, so long story short, he performed beautifully. Vet checks were the next step - and if they went well, I would pay for the x-rays.
=D Summary of it all were words from a very trusted Grand Prix vet: "I haven't a clue why this creature is priced the way he is. He's healthy, and quite the well built thing."
I officially bought him last night.
As utterly happy and relieved as I am to have a younger companion to grow to trust me and take me further, it's also a bit bittersweet. In the next month I'll have to look for a home for my older man. I can't support them both. I've heard of some retirement centers for registered racehorses, which Stan was in his younger days. Heavens know he deserves it.
Finally to the point - you all ought to help me! I need to think up new boy's show name by the start of the season (coming up this month), and it's more important than you'd think. Judges come to know you by it, and it's the name on registration papers and what's announced when you enter the ring.
Would anyone be interested? If any one of you would like to brainstorm list of ideas I may be able to use or build off of, you'll have my eternal love and affection. :D I'd pop up some background information if anyone's up for it.
I don't require horse knowledge, just skill with words. Which all of you have. <3
Thank you! And I just kept the info off the first post until someone expressed interest, partly so it didn't get to cluttered. xD
Information:
Barn name is Romeo. Red bay gelding (straight, black mane/tail), four white socks and facial markings (somewhat rare, flashy - called being 'chromed out'), shorter than the massively tall thoroughbred I'm used to but still a good sized horse, young, well built, but neither thick and powerful nor overly refined. Best word I can think of to describe his features is noble.
I'm thinking a name playing off a Shakespeare quote or work, since he came as 'Romeo' and struck me as the type. Or just something sophisticated, regal, strong, ect. He's a lovely calm horse, and does his job well, even though it's obvious I haven't won his trust yet. I'm not sure what fits exactly. All I know is that I'm not going for comical for this boy, which is common for show names.
And thus far, he's tried to take a bite out of any plant life everywhere we go, and sniffs around for food more than any horse I've ever known. xD I wanted to call him Hungry Hungry Hippo. He isn't a particularly heavy horse - in fact, he has some work to do to get more muscle on his youngling frame.
Past show names I've liked for horses I've known (listed Barn/Show):
Stanley : Standing Ovation (show titled by myself) alternately 'Stand and Deliver' Casper : Cast No Shadow Noodles : Crescendo Bingo : Blackjack (show titled by myself) Kenya : Out of Africa Names at shows that have caught my attention include Sophisticated Lady, Saga, Legend, Cahiro, London, Nairobi, Latest Edition, Czech Mate, Mamba, among many. A motley bunch. But then there's some where I think - a twelve year old named that animal. @.@
My trainer is sending me his pedigree soon. She looked at it during the sale, but I haven't yet. I don't yet know his dam and sire's names - I'll certainly be looking for them.

xD He does look similar to the equine in War Horse! Has the four white socks, but Romeo's are actually handsomer, and his hind ones almost reach his knees.
Buuut. . . the horse in that movie's name is Joey. xD
I love movies. Connections to them are fine.
-starts splurting out her own ideas-
Off of Shakespeare quotes, ect.- Twelfth Knight Crowned Chance Ides of March Lord. . . something or other Something or other including word 'Duet'
Hmm. . .
Basilio - means noble in some language, forget which. Baron
Possible Names: Knight's Honor Beyond Measure (Measure by Measure is Shakespeare) Round of Applause (lol :-P) Royal Pride Lord's Leisure Lord's Luster Passing Fancy

Oooh loving them all. And starting to dig the 'lord' or 'knight' idea. I helped name my riding bud's horse Knight's Bridge, after the place in England (her horses' barn name was another place. . . Piccadilly, of all locations). But if only I kept that one for myself! xD
*edit*
Red Rome O.O I love that one too, Ellie.

Also, problem with words that sound like another is that, over intercom, people just hear "Roam About", which doesn't sound as clever.
But Czech Point for example, or Czech Mate, on the other hand, sound good just as "Check Point/Mate", even if the listeners don't see the clever twist until they see the lists of horse and rider.
Seeing Red, Rome and Conquer. . . Like the sound of them, even if he doesn't seem like an aggressive type.
