Name: Dilan
Nicknames: Dilly (However, it’s not a good idea to call him that!), and Ladin (Only uses this name when he’s undercover)
Dark XII Nickname: The Raging Tempest
Age: Unknown. Looks as though he’s in his early 20’s
Gender: Male
Species: Humanoid Heartless
Position: Evil
Wind ManipulationDilan, like his Nobody counterpart Xaldin, affiliates with the power of wind. He can use it offensively and defensively, as well as raise his speed and agility to an abnormal level. Dilan can create gust of wind, tornados, jumps up in the air with incredible height, wind barriers, and could also create a small breezes or wind around a specific area. However, Dilan is one to conserve his energy unless his opponent puts up a good fight. The Raging Tempest likes to use some weaker spells just to see how good they can dodge it or how many they can endure. He’ll gradually increase his powers if the opponent seems more than capable of taking a few weak wind spells.
Sinister GustDilan can discharge a strong gust of wind out of the palm of his hands without any effort. This move is only meant to push someone away from him and sends his or her opponent flying back a few meters away. This attack will not do any form of damage to the opponent, unless they’re are obstacles, like a pole or wall, behind the enemy, it can surely knock the wind out of them once they collide with the object.
[[Lower level spell. Can be used 6 times per thread. Cool down = 1 post]]
Sky SphereDilan focuses the air around the palm of his hand and stirs it around; creating a light greenish ball of wind on his hand. This move only requires little energy from The Raging Tempest and once he shoots it at the enemy, it could send them flying a few meters back. Once it’s released, it’s quite unlikely for his opponent to dodge it because of it’s great speed. Most likely, the sphere will not knock out anyone or damage them.
[[Lower level spell. Can be used 5 times per thread. Cool down = 2 posts]]
Zephyr HasteThis spell enhances his speed and agility by 25%. Dilan can control the air around his body and rapidly move it around him whilst moving, thus increasing the speed of his movements. He can sprint or dodge projectiles at an incredible rate, however, this spell costs a lot of energy to perform and can only be used when he’s not tired.
[[Medium level spell. Can be used 1 time per thread.]]
Gale GuardianThe Raging Tempest can create a barrier of wind around his body and can at least lower his enemy’s attacks when it successfully hits him. Because of it’s rapid movement around body, the wind can be visible and has a light greenish kind of color. It can, however, resist any weaker attacks by the enemy, but it can’t totally resist any higher level attacks or spells.
[[Medium level spell. Can be used 3 times per thread. Barrier lasts for 4 posts and cool down lasts for 5 posts]]
Cyclone BeamThe Heartless can shoot a rather light greenish beam of concentrated wind out of his hands and can cause major damage to the enemy once it collides with them. This spell requires a lot of focus to work; he cannot be distracted as this spell drains a lot of energy from him and it may be bad for him if he’s interrupted during the process of using this spell. Once the beam escapes from his hand, it can be quite difficult to avoid, unless his enemy is a sort of speed demon who can escape any attacks no matter how fast it comes after them. In a way, it’s a more concentrated form of Sky Sphere, but only in a beam form and much more powerful.
[[High level spell. Can be used 2 times per thread and cool lasts for 7 posts, however once it’s performed, it can lead him to exhaustion.]]
Limit Break: Demonic Vortex“Enemies from afar, listen for the winds of hell, for it shall devastate you. The almighty Gale will destroy everything in its path and make you tremble in fear. Listen well, ole weakling, the wind is singing to you...It’s singing about your death”
(Dilan’s battle cry once he starts to activate his Limit Break)
The Raging Tempest can only perform this Limit Break once he’s grown very weak and tired. Like they say, “A wounded animal is a dangerous animal.”
Anyways, The Heartless levitates from the ground and his lance rapidly spins around him; slowly creating a tornado around the the Tempest. Once the vortex is complete, he can move around in it; hopefully, trying to suck in his opponent inside the devastating windstorm. The tornado can do a massive amount of wind elemental damage to the enemy is he/she is sucked in. After about 30 seconds, the vortex will spit out the enemy and hurl him across the area like a rag doll. Once the windstorm is gone, Dilan will definitely be exhausted from the tremendous power the tornado absorbed.
[[Can only be used once per thread and lasts for one post]]
(Each of his spells -- save Zephyr Haste, Gale Guardian, and Sinister Gust -- do wind elemental damage to his enemy)
Darkness ManipulationLike any other Dark XII member, Dilan can use darkness for his own personal uses. He can create a Corridor of Darkness and travel from world to world; collecting hearts or causing panic throughout the worlds. He can summon about 10 to 12 Heartless at once; however, he usually likes
Wyverns and
Air Soldiers to accompany him during a battle. The Heartless can also create black, bird-like wings made from pure Darkness and use to fly or use it as a sort of decoration, and awe the other people around them with its beauty.
WeaponUnlike Xaldin, Dilan only use one lance for battle instead of having six. He calls his trusty lance, Kaze. The lance itself is very light weighted so it’s easier for Dilan to swing it around. The lance is mostly blue in color, while the edges of the tip are silver. Right below the tip of Kaze is a curled, heart shaped design to it. He does not carry this weapon around, but rather summons it from the Darkness before he battles with an enemy.
AppearanceThe most notable feature about Dilan is that he has long, black hair and is worn in dreadlocks. He usually like to tie his hair back, because it annoys him when his hair is covering his eyes--although has one strand of hair dangle over his face. Dilan has long and thick sideburns that hook over his chin. The Tempest also has thick and bush eye brows and hazel eyes. His skin is lightly tanned and is rather tall compared to some of the other Dark XII members.
Dilan usually wears a grey guard uniform and wears a small Heartless symbol right below the collarbone region of his uniform. His uniform is decorated with gold zippers, and red and silver highlights. He wears black, leather gloves and knee-high boots. He wears long black pants, however his boots cover at least most of his pants. Most notably, he wears a long, black cape that run down to his ankles. He usually covers up his uniform with his cape, because he likes to have a more mysterious and secretive feel to him.
DilanDilan and his lance, KazePersonality Dilan is...not the most friendly person ever. He has quite a strict nature and likes to keep everything serious. He rather gets his missions done fast and quickly, and never gets distracted or stops for anything that may interfere with his objective. He would rather keep everything simple and easy. When talking to other people, he talks rather coldly to them and always throws in a few rude remarks. But what makes him stand out more, is that he is quite loyal to his Master Ansem and his allies.
He has a passion for fighting and likes a few challenges, but avoids fighting at all cost and only does it if he has to. He disapproves laziness and scolds people of their drowsy nature. When in combat, he sometimes uses words rather than action when the fight has begun. In a way, he loves to anger his opponent and see the Darkness feeding in their hearts. After he angers them, then he begins fighting, casting wind spells, etc.
The Raging Tempest is not fond for humans and views them as bugs or pests and are inferior to the Dark XII. However, he’s not the type to go around and steal peoples hearts like any other Heartless, because he sort of likes to watch humans have fun and go through their daily lives. It reminds him of the times he has when he was human and misses the old days when he was guarding the castle and working under Ansem the Wise. His self-control and patience is also a major aspect to him.
The meaning behind the title, The Raging Tempest, is that once he’s angry, he’s is like a killing machine. He’s conjure many spells, slash and thrust with lance, etc. just so he could kill that specific person. No one wants to be meet him once he’s angry...they will definitely regret that came across The Raging Tempest.
Original World: Radiant Garden
Current World: The World That Never Was
HistoryDilan, a resident of Radiant Garden, worked under Ansem the Wise as an apprentice, along with Braig, Even, Aeleus, and Ienzo. He was once a loyal servant to his master and never tried to anger him in any way. However, most of his time, Dilan and Aeleus would guard the castle gates; they would do anything to protect their beloved castle and anything inside. But because of this, they didn't have enough time to actually assist Ansem and his work.
Then, on one fateful day, everything seemed to change. A young man with white-hair, by the name of Xehanort, was found collapsed at the town center. He was taken back to the castle and when he had awoken, Ansem had asked him to become his apprentice. Xehanort took the offer; becoming Ansem's new and foremost underling. He was a great student and took quite an interest for the human heart, but he had his own motives.
While Ansem was trying to somehow help the people of Radiant Garden from the Darkness, so he created a laboratory to study and conduct experiments on Darkness. Xehanort offered to become a subject of an experiment, but he wanted to conduct his own research and go deeper in the project. The six apprentices joined together annd carried out their own research, behind Ansem's back.
They had abducted innocent lives and experimented on their hearts; tampering the Darkness inside. One set of the subjects, however, had become unstable and were kept in the dungeon. Days later, they checked up on them and the frightened people were replaced by black creatures known as the "Heartless".
Later on, the six apprentices were accepting the Darkness in their hearts; Dilan, however, was somewhat weary about this. His master, grew worried and asked his underlings to put a stop to their experiments, but they ignored his request and continued. Dilan was now looking somewhat....non-human. His heart, slowly, being consumed had an uneasy feeling inside of him, but he felt a whole lot stronger. It was something that he didn't want to give up.
Days later...he was no longer human; now a creature of Darkness and a monster that feasts on human hearts. He was transported to the Realm of Darkness; he now had the body of a Shadow, and he wondered around the lonely and dark place. Slowly, but surely, his appearance and mind were changing. His body was taking the shape of his old self and fragments of memories were popping in his head.
A feeling of loneliness was setting in inside of the poor Heartless; he needed to escape from this dark world. He desperately tried to do so, but nothing was enough. He tried countless experiments, but they all failed in the end. He was losing hope, until a man showed up: Xenhanort's Heartless. The Seeker of Darkness offered a job to Dilan. A job that involves the invasion of worlds, in exchange for his loyalty. The Tempest nodded in reply and ever since then, he became Number III for the Dark XII. He was truly a powerful being, but always stayed by his new master's side.
RP SampleIt was eerily quiet in Traverse Town. No one was strolling around; doing their daily routines. The neon-colored lights warmed the streets of the town, though, but it was like a ghost town. A soft breeze ran throughout the town, but something was peculiar about the draft of wind. There was a sinister feel to it -- something dark was coming towards the large town. Where was it coming from though?
A black-like portal formed on top of a four-story building; it was the only unusual thing in sight. Moments later, a tall man with black hair and worn in dreadlocks surfaced from the dusky portal. All you could see, was a black cape covering up his body, but underneath that exterior was a grey uniform. At first, his face seemed so emotionless; devoid of any life. He checked his surroundings and mumbles softly under his breath. He slowly took a few steps and peered down the tall building. There was nothing in sight...nothing at all.
A wide grin surfaced on the strange man's face.
"No where in sight!...Hopefully, they won't show, so maybe I can get some training done until they need me back at the castle," the man spoke softly to himself. His voice sounded so deep, yet there was something about it that was spine tingling. He peered over the ledge of the building, but this he leapt up in the air and was hurtling towards the ground. His cape and long, ebony hair were flowing in the wind; arms by his sides.
With a slight movement of his hand, a powerful gust of wind was blowing upwards towards him. His fall was slowly decreasing in speed; then he gracefully landed on the concrete floor. His eyes wandered around the large courtyard, but then he caught a glimpse of man in a white jumpsuit to his right. Hmph, I knew it. There really is Nobody activity here.
The Nobody, known as a Dusk, slenderly walked towards the man. The man eyed the creature, but a few more of those Dusks appeared by the original one. There were 5 in all, but the man knew he could take them all in...not even in a mere minute.
The ebony-haired man smirked at the creatures and said,
"You know, you guys should be a little more discreet. You shouldn't come out of the open like that." A large light-greenish aura appeared over the man's hand. The Dusks stopped their pace, and stared at the peculiar display. The man could only laugh at them, for their demise will soon come. The light-green light dispersed, and a large blue lance appeared over his hand.
"You should also know that you're messing with Dilan from the Dark XII...and this weapon right here"--Dilan then pointed the lance at the blood-thirsty creatures--
"will end your pathetic lives." With a swift motion, Dilan sprinted at the first Dusk and hacked its head; disappearing from existence. The other Dusk surrounded the Heartless, but their methods of approach would be futile. He raised his free hand at one of them and sent a vigorous gust of wind at it; sending it flying across the area. Luckily, the creature collided with a pole and evaporated.
Two of the creatures closed in on Dilan, but with another swift motion, he rolled his lance around his hands and arms, and slashed at their chest.
"One left...this is seriously not a real challenge. I may as well get this done quickly. Oh well, maybe I'll get Braig to train with me later on." He let out a sigh; hoping that it would intimidate the creatures.
Dilan focused a certain amount of energy at his fingertips. The air around it, gradually move around his hand. The wind kept moving faster and faster, every second that passed. With one flick of his hand, a small turquoise sphere of concentrated wind, hurtled towards the last creature. Poof! The creature was obliterated; Dilan could only let out another sigh and gaze at the stars above him.
"Organization XIII...they need to make things more challenging."He glanced around the courtyard again and felt no eery presence nearby. There may be more, so Dilan wrapped his body around his cape again and headed towards a random direction. The Heartless was not pleased at all; no one, other than the other Dark XII members, could satisfy his hunger for power. So, what if he had more power than anyone else in the universe? What would he do with it? That answer may never come to him, but it was simply a goal in his life. To try and become powerful, and that he could be the Dark XII's second-in-command.
