In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Disney Castle, the home of the one and only Mickey Mouse, was withstanding itself within the mercy granted upon it, while it rocks with the tides of darkness in the sea of falling worlds. Heartless still emerge from their hiding for their usual hunt, but with the light dwelling within the hearts of the Animals, the children of darkness were constantly kept at bay from overwhelming the world and kingdom. For the time being, the skies were brighter and bluer ignorant to the bad omens in the sky. The garden surrounding the castle were lush with the smell of freshly cut grassed. After resembling the mess and placing everything back in its orderly fashion, the servants began giving the palace tender loving care to make everything light-heartened.
Youthful colorful flowers were being planted, while the hedges were getting a trim. Birds chirped, while butterflies fluttered in the peaceful grounds. Coming from the Gummi Hangar, a broom wobbled with buckets of empty water after cleaning up the place. Even if it meant ruffling the furs of the master engineers Chip and Dale, who'd gotten dunked a few times in wooden bin before being patted down with a pair of thick gloved hands. With an extra pep in its step, the broom bounced and hobbled up towards the castle, where the beaney bop Queen bounced about in the Colonade heading towards the castle.
She was wearing a light pink summer's dress without gloves or a crown adorning her person, since she too was tending to the palace. It may seem too mundane and common of a task for a Queen to indulge herself on, but it certainly made her feel closer to her world and the connection between her and her people. Also with the stress of the nightly watch, which she participates in if not busy with paper work, what's the harm in sitting back and bring more color to the castle with some mere flowers? Sensitive round ears twitched hearing patches of straw crunching against the ground; turning her head, she was met up by a broom, who silently spoke to her, "Ooh I see you've been a busy bee today. You were...in the Gummi Hangar?"
She couldn't help but giggle lightly, which turned into a sneeze when the hyacinth she had in her hands tickled her nose; although the chipmunk brothers were friendly Rodents, they were particular about their space and being disturbed while working, "Oooh I hope you didn't pester Chip and Dale too much. Anyways thank-you, and I'm sure the Audience Chamber has been tended to already."
The Queen was humored agains when the broom swept up a couple of stray petals from the Queen's abundance of flowers glittered the floor, "Oh well by my guest...and come along, I'm sure there's dust in the Library. Hmm I wonder if Pluto ever made his way back."
The doggy bed in the library has been vacant for weeks. The Castle seemed quieter without the hard running, heavy pants, and boisterous barks of her golden dog, Pluto...well Mickey's dog. The thought of his name brought a worried and solemn expression on her face. She WISHED she would hear Pluto's barking to announce his arrival; at least then she would know it wasn't a dream or an illusion. Hearing a silent shout, Minnie shook herself out of it watching the broom a head of bouncing up and down with waving arms, "Hehehe pardon me, I was just lost in thoughts is all."
How long ago has it been since he could say, “I’m finally home.” He had devoted over a decade of his life to the worlds; actually one can suggest it started ever since he was brought up by a former master, Yen Sid. Ever since his life was all about becoming better and rising higher for the greater cause. Like a couple of years before, he’d swiftly left his world; the omens of the blinking stars woke him from his peaceful routine, scribble down a letter with a small note ‘find the key’, and left with Pluto as his only company roaming the worlds through the corridors. From then he never truly returned home until the worlds were at rest with the fall of Xemnas.
It felt entirely too good to be true with his track record of a series of peculiar events; it shouldn’t have surprised him with the wave of darkness came forcing the Cornerstone to expel its light to defend the world. By the morrow, it was waning down; it was too big of a problem to hesitate, so he left and went to Yen Sid before investigating at The World That Never Was. Only recently it seemed the Mouse crawled out of his solitude and lone expedition; first it was at Traverse Town where he met Malakai, and then he went to Radiant Garden to inform the Committee, but met a young avid scholar and a fellow traveler, Kuu. He was able to reach out to some of the worlds, but he needed to prepare his own.
From the looks of it, the Castle looked relatively the same; finally Mickey could exhale; even without the Cornerstone is world still stood graciously. Pulling his hood back, the King greeted the essence of fresh air and flowers of the courtyard. Staring at the colonnade he sighed wondering what sort of welcome was awaiting him. Round ears turned back guiltily; there was no turning back now; as King and a Keyblade Master he saw he could handle and most likely deserved what would come his way. Ascending the stairs, he felt a nudge against his hand, and naturally a gloved hand rubbed Pluto’s head before tapping his back. With permission, Pluto heavily ran and barked running forward following a familiar scent.
Lost in thought she was, the Queen, but now something boisterous caught her attention, loud boisterous barking. Before she could turn her head, a heavy pooch nearly jumped on her. Petals combusted everywhere with impact causing the broom to jump in alarm With a squeal she held her arms out to hold the golden package, then a long pink tongue lolled all over her face. Normally Minnie would’ve chastised the dog; instead the hall was jingling with laughter,
”Oh Pluto you rascal you’re going to lick my make-up clean off, and I’ve missed you so.”
Mickey stood at the top of the stairs watching his Queen squeeze a happy go lucky Pluto in her arms definitely not caring of getting dirty, while a frazzled broom swept away the array of flowers. With a final lick, Pluto returned to the floor before running around her; that’s when the light dawned on her. Was he finally back? Looking up, her breath caught in her throat, while her eyes widened; even when she’d rather be furiously angry at him, Minnie missed him so much that he could make her heart skip a beat. He was alive and well. Better yet, he was home.
“Mickey…,” she called out lowly; she started to walk towards him and didn’t bolt into a run until he called out her name in return with open arms. It would seem unlady-like for the Queen to throw herself at him. Her arms circled around his neck as he caught her. With the sudden weight of her leaping at him, The King stumbled and spun her around away from the stairs, while the Queen showered him in kisses and frenzy of chatters of “I missed you”, “Where have you been?”, “You had me worried?”, and more.
“I missed you too Minnie,” the King chuckled before placing her down; he let his guard down once resting his head on top of her not suspecting an angry shove.
“Don’t you EVER do that to me MICKEY MOUSE! Don’t you EVER LEAVE like that without TELLING ANYONE! There wasn’t a letter, a note, or anything,” she started shouting, while pushing at his chest in frustration, “and the Cornerstone was GONE. You were GONE, and this castle was a wreck and-and…”
Her voice started to crack, while she struggled to suppress her tears recalling the vow to stop crying. Turning on her toes, she took a few steps away from him and face her back to him; gloved hands covered her eyes to summon those tears away.
Slowly he approached her from behind to touch her shoulder, “M-M-Minnie I’m-”
“Don’t MINNIE me,” she countered and tugged her shoulder away. In due time, they went limp; she was tired of worrying, scared, concerned, and angry. She wanted to be angry and whack him with those flowers she had, but it was just too exhausting. Mickey could sense it too; the order of the worlds hadn’t been kind to her let alone Disney Castle. Despite that he was treading on ice, he pulled her back to his chest with his hands secured on her arms, ”just…just don’t do that again. I know the worlds will call you whenever they need you; I get that, and I’ve been accepted that. Just don’t you ever….EVER leave me in the dark like that again.
“I promise…”
They stood there for a moment and wasn’t disturbed until a shy Pluto came slinking over; when voices were raised, the dog just learned to stay away and steer clear. Seeing how things had simmered downed, his large eyes looked up to them innocently, asking.
“Yes we’re done Pluto…for now, so come over here,” the Queen beckoned allowing the door to brush against her legs and lean his head on her hand. A family was reunited, yet there was so much to go over and conquer, Come on let’s go to the library; there’s much to talk about.
Grabbing his hand, husband and wife, King and Queen, walked towards the library, while their dog ran ahead of them excitedly; there they sat and went over events: the Cornertstone, the attack on Disney Castle, the revival of the Organization, the rise of Ansem, Marluxia’s arrival seeking sanctuary since he was being hunted, and the findings on The World That Never was.
“Have you told Sora?” The Queen voice peaked.
“No, I haven’t; I haven’t found Sora, Riku, or Kairi. I don’t know if they are still on their world. That’ll be the first place to look.”
“Alright,” she then paused thinking it over as she sat on his lap at the desk. Pluto found refuge at his bed and curled up to sleep. “What about Yen Sid?”
“No, I haven’t spoken to him yet either. Sounds like I need to have a meeting or something. All the keys need to gather and know of this.”
“Do you think with having more problems that there’ll be more keys? I mean if Xemnas and Ansem are going to their old ways, Xehanort’s way,…”, it was as if nothing was changed; the trouble was just doubled, and with people learning from their mistakes, Minnie felt it would just get worst.
“Hmmm,” the king hummed in contemplation,” then I’ll just have Donald and Goofy on the lookout, and Sora, Riku, and Kairi would probably need to bulk up. This isn’t how it was before, and if things are going how I think it is then they’ll need all the preparation they can get, and we’ll need all the hands we can grab.”
“Then we’ll start looking for people anyone who’d stand for Light. I don’t know what you or Yen Sid may conclude what’s best for them and in turn for the world, but they can’t do it alone,” her brows dipped in concern, “stars are going out again; worlds are falling; keys or not someone needs to help them. If they are to train, how can they get better with focusing on their skills, while the worlds beat on them at the same time.
Mickey’s head leaned back and looked up towards the ceiling; this would be harder than the other times; he could feel it, and it would be a test of Sora, Riku, and Kairi as well. The King sighed at the predicament; he wanted to have faith in them, and he did, but he doesn’t want to see them get cornered and overwhelmed. His heart went out to the fallen; like the present wielders, there were three of them and was never heard from again. He didn’t want to imagine the same faith for them.
“We’ll just have to keep faith, and they’ll just have to keep sight of their light.”
