Name: Santa Clause
Nickname: St. Nicholas, Father Christmas, Sandy Claws, Santa, Etc.
Age: About 300 years old (Though he looks about 65-70 Years old)
Gender: Male
Species: Elf (of sorts)
Position: Good
Powers/Abilities/Techniques/Skills: Skills:
Sneakiness: Decades of sneaking into houses in the dead of night has made Santa light on his feet. As long as he focuses on being quite, it will be so, and he makes little noise breathing, walking, or things of the like.
However, if under pressure or stressed out, the jolly old elf won’t be so sneaky, and easily makes noise.
Behavior Omniscience (Sort of): With having to know how every boy and girl has acted this year, Santa needs to stay in the know, literally. As such, he has something of a sixth sense of a persons behavior, and their position. Things that don’t know right from wrong are able to bypass this technique.
Wintry Resistance: Living in the cold and snow for most of the year, the big man doesn’t succumb to ice magic’s or things of the like so easily. Not to mention a few hundred cookies each year helps too.
Powers:
Good Magic:
Disguise: Santa can manipulate his form slightly by picturing himself slightly different: The only catch is, he can only manipulate what clothing he can wear, and his hair style (slightly). For example, he could make himself look like he’s wearing athletic shorts, a t-shirt, and a sweat band on his head.
Sandman’s Sand: A gift from the Sandman, Santa can sprinkle this dust on a person to lull them to sleep, causing them to forget what happened the previous 30 seconds before entering dream land. The target who was put to sleep with this dust falls asleep for exactly 8 hours, and rests peacefully, good dreams filling their head.
This is primarily used to put children to sleep who stayed awake for Santa, and is not very effective to be used defensively, seeing as just throwing the sand will only make one drowsy; It’s most effective to sprinkle about a teaspoon on the person’s face.
There is an unlimited supply of the stuff.
Joyful Aura: Whenever Santa’s around anyone, or anything, a wonderful feeling fills them up, causing them to be joyful and peaceful. For those who are curious, it is invisible, but the smell of candy-canes and gingerbread linger slightly in the air by those affected by the aura.
Also, a slight heat can be felt from the aura, warming even the coldest souls.
This CANNOT work on those without hearts... Or more accurately, those who can feel emotion.
Chimney Express: By standing in any fire-place or standing on top of a chimney, Santa can lay his finger aside his nose and magically slide down or fly up the chimney with ease and grace.
He technically breaks the laws of physics by distorting space around him, and because so, anyone holding onto him as he climbs up or down the chimney are brought too. For good or bad.
Defensive Magic:
Blizzara: Even Santa Clause needs to defend himself sometimes! The Jolly old elf has learned how to cast Blizzara over the years, and it can be very useful.
By extending his hand, Santa will say the incantation, causing a stream of freezing winds to billow from the appendage. The spell is not very accurate, but when it hits, it can severely slow the targets, allowing Santa to escape. (Requires a 3 post recharge)
This spell is used defensively, and is not very powerful; It is mainly used for keeping the assaulter occupied.
Note: Any form defensive magic will tire Santa out, and all cannot be used in succession: The “Recharge” for all spells is three posts. Also, Santa is a pacifist, so he tries not to use this class of magic
Weapon/Items:Santa’s choice of equipment is his magical toy sack, which, not surprisingly, is almost infinite in space. Old St. Nick can call a certain item by thinking about what he needs, and he will pull it out of the sack.
Santa can’t create items, however; They must’ve been previously stored in there. The sack is made of burlap, and is decorated with various Christmas related items (Gingerbread men, holly branches, Christmas trees, etc.)
Santa’s also has his pouch of sand from the sandman, but his sleigh could also be counted as equipment;
Driven by 9 reindeer, Santa can ride his magic sleigh to almost any world. The sleigh can enter different “Modes” to accommodate the situation; for example, if out in space, a bubble of glass forms around the reindeer and santa, and the sleigh will transform into something of a gummi ship, colored with gold, red, green, and white gummi blocks.
The sleigh, however, is only taken out during Christmas Eve or some sort of emergency.
Picture: Santa as he appears in KHII and The Nightmare Before Christmas Father Christmas as he appears in reality (And how I intend for him to appear on this site).Appearance: Santa Clause is a plump little man, who weighs about a good 250 lbs., and is about 4 feet and 10 inches. As often described, he has a kind face, a cherry shape and tinted nose, round rosy cheeks, and piercing blue eyes that always have a twinkle in them.
He has grown a distinguished snowy beard, and also has gone slightly thin up on his head, but a few white wisps of hair remain. He often wears his signature hat, however.
Though his garbs use to differ, Santa clause now wears his signature red suit, which does its best to cover up his big belly, with white trimmings.
He also wears a belt along his torso. The big man has thin arms and tiny hands, often donned by black leather gloves. The big man also wears leather boots, his feet and legs also small.
Personality: The best, and most common word used to describe Santa, is jolly. He is almost always in a good mood, spreading joy and happiness wherever he goes.
Of course, the naughty children on the list bother him a little bit, but he still does love them, he just wishes them to behave more nicely.
Santa’s goal all his life is to be happy, and show that being good and caring about your family and loved ones can really make a difference; As well as that, the man is very generous, and feels that good deeds should be rewarded.
However, due to recent rumors, he often fears people will stop believing in him, causing him to slowly lose his immortality, and eventually, the spirit of Christmas.
Also, ever since Jack Skelington came into the picture, the man has always worried that the skeleton might pull another fast one, and try Christmas out again. But otherwise, Santa feels he has let Jack know his feelings on the subject, and the two are on good terms again.
Interests of Santa include research on what kind of toys and gifts people want this year, cookies that are in popularity, and of course, the statuses of the worlds other than Christmas Town.
Santa tries to keep a cool head whenever things get out of control and dangerous, and is often known to scold people if they make poor decisions. But whenever with a group of people, Santa is comfortable to listen to advice or giving it, since he has been in both sorts of situations.
Original World: Christmas Town (True Orgins Unknown)
Current World: Christmas Town
Movie/Video Game(s): The Nightmare Before Christmas, KHII.
History: Santa Clause, though best known as Kris Kringle back then, was born to a simple family on an unknown world; however, all that is really known of Kris Kringle’s origins is that one night in the village of what would become Christmas Town, a baby wrapped in a woolen cloth was found outside a house of local elves. When the family of elves heard the baby’s cries, they came out side to see what was the matter.
They brought the babe inside, and found only a tag of the babies name; Kris Kringle. The little boy was handsome, and the elves took the child as their own.
For the first few years, they tried their best to figure out the child’s past, but to no avail. So instead, they tried to raise him in the arts they were raised in; the art carpentry.
The boy was already taller than his foster parents at the age of 5, and he began learning about the trade of carpentry. Over the years, he slowly worked on this art, but found he was much better at making small wooden carvings then big objects, such as tables..
At the age of ten, Kris had whittled a tiny sparrow, and had carried it around the village. A fellow child-hood friend saw the creation and asked Kringle would make him one.
Thus began the making of the little figurines. All the elf children wanted them as toys to play with. Kris’s guardians found it wonderful that he had found a hobby, and these were the steps to becoming a carpenter.
But as Kris grew older, he never stopped making toys. In fact, he began making more than just wooden toys; he began finding loose bolts and springs or such, and started to make new toys, such as a duck you could pull around with a string.
In fact, by the age of thirty, Kris Kringle had installed a new way of life in the village! It seemed that all the elves loved making toys due to their small nimble hands, allowing for fine craftsmanship.
After awhile however, it seemed everyone in town had a surplus of toys, and there were too many to go around. Kris Kringle, at this age 35, decided to go for a walk to think whom else these toys could go to, since indeed, a humongous pile of playthings had begun to pile up in the center of town.
Wandering to hill a little ways away from the town, Kris sat and began to ponder how to solve this dilemma when he turned around and saw an evergreen tree with a gaping hole inside.
The middle-aged man went to examine, but was suddenly sucked into the hole, pushed in by a mighty wind. It was terrifying, flying through the dark when suddenly… The to be Santa Clause found himself standing in the middle of a forest… with different trees with different shapes on them.
Unbeknownst to him, this would be the exact forest that would cause him trouble in the distant future… But that didn’t matter now.
He wished to go through all the doors, but he was extremely drawn to one that looked like a blue sphere with green markings on it. Shuffling slowly to the door, he turned the knob on the door, and was once again sucked into a portal.
This time however, he was among different people. These people looked just like him… But with different clothes, and they were walking around with little people who must’ve been their children!
Kris had landed in a bush right outside a small town, and it was full of big buildings, and vehicles pulled by strange creatures, much like the reindeer he was accustomed to. Kris Kringle had found Earth.
He rushed back to Christmas town, and shared the great idea of delivering these toys to some of the small children in the little town he had found, and it was a stupendous idea all around.
(
Before you bite my head off about how close this sounds to another holiday mascot’s history, let me remind you that THIS guy did it first, and this was his idea originally)
And so, for many years, the elves and Kris Kringle delivered presents to the people of the 1700’s in England. But he didn’t just give presents;
He encouraged all who received these gifts to also give to others. People who met Kris called him Sinterklaas, or St. Nicholas, since Kris acted much in the same way as another person long ago had to the normal people.
However, age had begun to catch up with Kringle, and by the age of 65, he did not feel as young as he used to. He could only make so many trips per year, and had begun to think what would happen to the children if he passed away; Would the elves continue this tradition? Or would this practice die away through the ages?
Almost by a miracle, Kris Kringle one day had been working on how to solve this problem in his work place (At this point, Christmas town had begun to take some of the technology of the “modern” world, and the once tiny village was steadily growing into a small town), when there was a knock on the door.
Walking out, Kris found a small present, wrapped up in a box, and topped with a bow, much like how he would present a gift.
The gift had no tag attached to it, and there was no note at all whom it was from. Opening the present, there was a small note, again no signature. The note read, “Do you, Kris Kringle, son of Alfric and Marylyn, take the job of Father Christmas? To spread good cheer to the people of the worlds, and to present them the act of giving to one another?”
The letter confused Kringle; Father Christmas? Christmas was just a holiday. And other worlds? It was all so confusing.
But if this meant he could continue to give toys to children, he would gladly accept the role. On a piece of parchment, he wrote back, “Yes, I accept this role of Father Christmas- Kris Kringle” But he was stumped? Who was the man supposed to send this letter to? As if by magic, the letter swirled out of existence; out of the empty present, the most wonderful smells emitted from a wind billowing out of the box, and all of a sudden, Kris Kringle, or now Father Christmas, had a wreath of holly around his head, and was wearing a red robe of sorts.
But the most peculiar part was the feeling… Father Christmas felt ageless. Though old… Still young… Eternal Life (
Keep in mind, he can’t die of age or sickness, but a sword through the gut or likes will sadly finish him off… That or the children stop believing in him.)
Stepping outside, Father Christmas walked outside to see more magic unfold, and stood in awe, stroking his now white, snowy beard; Ornaments began to dress the nearby evergreen trees, all the elves were being dressed in festive colored clothes, the houses also being adorned with shiny baubles, mistletoe, and the things of the likes.
But most stunning was a new sleigh. In the center of town stood a completely decorated sleigh, silver bells jingling as it formed; The sleigh was red with gold bordering, the bells attached to the sides, and in the front, 8 strong, young reindeer to drive it.
In absolute disbelief Father Christmas let out a big laugh “Ho Ho Ho! Ho Ho Ho Ho HO!” Thus, this was his now signature laugh came to be.
Turning to his elf neighbors, he asked, “It appears I’ve been promoted. We can only deliver once a year… However, giving gifts to these children from different worlds is going to be difficult. Will you all help me?”
The crowd was silent, for they had all come out to see what was going on, and then… They erupted into cheers of ecstasy, and so began Father Christmas’ tradition of gift giving every year.
As it turned out, this was a bit hard to get used to; a map/manual had been found in the sleigh of how to travel quickly along Earth, and then the different worlds, and then how to do this most efficiently.
The sleigh could fly, but it was all confusing; after a few years of practice, Father Christmas, or Santa Clause as he now preferred due to his old nickname Sinterklaas, had finally gotten the use of this.
Along his legacy, he had been caught one time, while going into a home on a world where magic is practiced. There, an older sorceress was rocking in her chair and Santa, who was quite embarrassed, attempted to quickly escape out of the door.
The sorceress was a kind one though, and laughed, “Dearie, if you were to take a quick a escape, I suggest you place your finger aside your nose, and step into the fire place, and think about flying.”
Though nervous by the surprisingly beautiful woman, Santa listened, and he shot straight up through the chimney, and was surprised.
The woman landed right next to him with surprising grace, and said, “If you want to go back down, jump through, and do the exact same thing.” She leaned over and kissed the old man on the cheek, “My present to you Father Christmas” Sana felt quit giddy the rest of the way.
Santa began to befriend this woman, and after a few years, proposed to the sorceress, and she then became Mrs. Noel Clause. She proved her worth by showing Santa useful good magic, enchanting the sleigh to now fly straight, and even gave one new reindeer to the fleet a glowing nose, which, though was once the thing that got him laughed at, was quickly shown to be quite useful while flying in cloudy weather.
Even better, she began inventing new Christmas treats for adults to receive as presents, which then inspired people to leave milk and cookies out for Santa… Which has done a number on his figure.
Though occasionally making a change, Santa has tried to keep his promise as Father Christmas, and is very happy.
Kingdom Hearts History Santa had been working one day in his workshop when he had heard a clutter outside. Striding outside, Santa gasped as he found the second person to find the seasonal doors; Jack Skelington. At first frightened of the creature, Santa was quickly calmed after finding the skeleton meant no harm.
Jack began asking Santa all about Christmas, and though a bit curious at first to why, as learned, the Pumpkin King wanted to know about his holiday, Santa answered Jack’s questions. After a bit though, it was curious; It seemed Jack came back more frequently, and it was disrupting Santa’s work.
One time, Jack had brought in some friends of his, and the partially normal looking boy (due to his costume) asked to see if he was on the nice list. Sadly, the youth had said, when he was 8 that Santa didn’t exsist, and was thus on the naughty list. Jack left with his friends, leaving Santa to his work after a quick tour of his factory, and some dealing some punishment to three very naughty children.
Santa was unknowing about Jacks plan to try and take over Christmas for a year until it was too late; Once Oogie Boogie was brought back (the first time), Lock, Shock, and Barrel, Halloween Town residents and minions of Oogie, kidnapped Santa Clause on account of Maleficent’s orders.
Once kidnapped, Oogie held Santa hostage, (some how not recognizing him), only to be rescued by Sally the Ragdoll while Jack and a group of friends defeated Oogie Boogie. Santa scolded Jack for trying to take Christmas away since it was Santa’s job to take care of it, and Jack learned his lesson to take care of his own holiday; Halloween.
Shortly after, however, presents began disappearing, and Santa assumed it was Jack Skellington again, wanting to make his Christmas.
After some investigation, however, it appeared a resident scientist of Halloween Town had accidentally created a present thief robot! Santa agreed to help catch the culprit by making a decoy present. Jack once again assisted Santa with the aid of his friends to defeat the fiend once it appeared.
After the fierce battle, Santa congratulated Jack, and allowed Jack to drive his sleigh in the skeleton’s makeshift Santa suit, as a reward for helping defeat the creature. When Jack landed, he had a talk with Sally, in which Santa saw an amazing thing happen;
the boy took out his sword, which then caused the indescribable phenomenon. A large key-hole appeared the sky, and it appeared Jack had something to do with it. The boy raised his blade and turned it, the key-hole glowing, and a distinctive sound of a lock locking issued.
Being who he was, Santa knew the boy was looking for a friend, and let him know that he would find his mysterious friend, and to not lose hope.
Santa has yet to see them all again, but has silently been watching them thanks to his wife, and has rewritten Sora on the good list again ever since.
Role Playing Sample: "Steady! Steady!" A little elf called from the ground as Old St. Nick flew around in circles, waiting for the all clear. Santa had been giving the reindeer a practice run for the big night. It had been an extremely tiring night, however; More than once the whole group had to traverse through a full fledge blizzard.
The landing elf waved the glowing candy canes directly up and down, giving Santa the okay to go in and land. Santa Called to the reindeer,
"Ho, ho boys, time to go for a landing!"Twisting the reins ever so slightly, the reindeer obeyed, and the sleigh went into a slow decent. Finally, the flying vehicle went in for a touch down, it being dragged along by the magical caribou.
As the sleigh came to a stop, Santa was helped out of the sled by an elf wielding a cup of hot chocolate, and congratulated Santa on his flight, "Good practice flight Santa! We saw how you had to go through to blizzards and readied the fire place along with this cup of steaming hot chocolate."
At this, Father Christmas thanked the elf, and glided over to his house, where the lights were on and a female figure was moving around in the kitchen. Smiling, Santa knocked opened the door to the smell of cinnamon and sugar. Sniffing in the delicious aroma, Mr. Clause asked his wife,
"Dear, do I smell those wonderful cinnamon sugar cookies you make?"A response issued from the kitchen, friendly and warm, "Yes dear! And they're right out of the oven. Would you like me to bring them to you in the living room?" Grinning ear to ear, Santa was so happy to have Mrs. Clause as his wife.
"If you wouldn't mind Noel, that would be lovely." Said Santa as he curled up on his favorite armchair by the fire. The crackling blaze soothed Santa's once frigid body, and the big man pulled out his infamous Naughty and Nice list.
Mrs. Clause, a friendly old woman, was wearing her christmas tree apron, along with a red skirt and festive Christmas stockings. Her gray hair was tied up in a bun, a sign she had been cooking all day, and was wearing a green bow to hold it in place. Handing her husband some milk and fresh cinnamon and sugar cookies, she pecked him on the cheek, he returning one back.
Looking back at his list, Santa began to, as they say, "Check it twice", though in reality, this had been the 32nd time he had checked it this month. He would occasionally make a remark on a child, and would either put an "X" or checkmark by their name to mark them as good or bad.
He found himself suddenly thinking of a certain skeleton out of nowhere, and began wondering how Jack Skelington was doing. Santa set down his quill, and suddenly imagined Jack practicing for his holiday, Halloween.
Chuckling to himself, Santa continued his duty, and was anxious for the upcoming Christmas, in a mere matter of days.
