In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

No, seriously... everyone's getting these really cool images to put behind their posts (images are different depending on the character). I'm under the impression that it's got some fancy coding in it, which is fine, I like coding, but. . .
That's the general dimension I use; some of mine are smaller in width. What I pretty much do (I hope I don't confuse you):
Open photoshop starting with the dimensions of my header, then put guides down at the end bottom of its height. Next edit the canvas to add in the hieght for the bg, mark down it's ends with guides, then repeat with the footer. That way everything will blend together in the code, especially since the BG repeats itself. I tend to make the BG a solid color for there isn't any banding.
Here is another example (: There's many different styles, I like playing with it to make the header and footer look like the first couple of pixels are already part of the text box.
The middle chunk is just a thin image that repeats, depending on how long you type. If it helps you to see broken up:
I have rounded corners on this box in particular, but for some reason they just show up as dark. 0.o So I'd be careful with transparent PNG's if I were you, I still haven't quite figured out what's up with that.
Thank you guys for your explanations. =3 I guess I know what I'll be doing with Gimp for the next few months...
You guys rock. Thanks sooo much.
About the "transparent" PNG image, Zephiris: did you make your image on a canvas with a transparent option enabled, and do all of your layers have alpha channels? They might not be coming off as transparencies because one or more layers doesn't have the alpha channel to tell it that there's nothing there. That's just my guess though. ^_^
PNG is usually my choice image due to its size and clarity, but they are also known to slightly change your colors, so the colors you paint with... will look slightly different when saved as a PNG.
Thanks again for the help. Let me know if my tip helps too, Zephiris.
The thing is, they show up as transparent anywhere but these boards. It's odd, and I haven't had a transparency problem in years.
*edit*
It's only on one computer where they show up as transparent off the boards. -rolls eyes- I'll double check with your tip though, Era, if I feel museful enough or have the time. Thankkies. xD
