In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

It had been a long time since flowers bloomed here, but once they took root in the soil and found their way to the sun, it seemed nothing could stop them! Clusters of crocus, purple and gold, blankets of pansies, lilies, iris. Everywhere there was life. Even in the broken cracks of the streets, greenery found a way to poke its head out and into the world and gaze upon the sky.
The effects could be seen in Radiant Garden’s people; their cheeks were rosy and their eyes were bright. In celebration of spring, the children were creating a mural. It was a wild explosion of colors and fanciful creatures and at the centerpiece was a large reflective piece of glass. It must have broken off a mirror.
Tun had gone off, once again, to the top of a building to watch the daily events from above. He still wasn't naturally inclined to talk to anyone right now, and prefered this distance.
He took a look at the mural, seeming to only be half interested. The only part that actually caughthis eye was the mirror. It just seemed so...strange. He took a quick look at his knife, to check if it was in too bad of shape. It seemed rather nice for being stuck in the ground for who knows how long.
Finally, Tun slid down the back of the building to the streets, and calmly walked down towards the colorful event befelling the area.
It was not a large gathering; a class of perhaps fifteen children and their teacher, who was at that moment elbow deep in cheap paint, trying to ascertain precisely how much of it one of her students had decided to eat.
One girl had broken the tiles she was working on and was crying over it, two boys were fighting over the last of the red paint, and a couple of students had forgotten the project altogether and had started a game of tag. It was clear that the children were getting tired and cranky, and with the sun hanging low in the sky, it would soon be time to go home to dinner and sleep. None were mindful of the stranger approaching.
The mural almost glittered in the low sky, especially when the sun struck the mirror shard, throwing an odd beams of light here and there. The picture of singularity, ii almost made one believe in faerie stories.
While Tun felt somewhat anoyed by the scene of the students seeming to have no sense of general direction, he quickly ignored that to observe the Mural at a closer point.
While the students had seemed to give up on this project, they certainly had shown lots of work in the results of what has been done. Many colors surrounded the other in an explosion of colors. Greens, reds, blues, magenta and even colors that seemed like they were just a mixture of everythingslid into eachother in near perfect unison.
Tun looked closely to see some basic images. It appeared there was a few fairies garbed in clothes of green, blue, and red. There was also what seemed like a comically designed tower that had a single window near the top. What did seem odd was how there were several strange designs specifically in the center. They seemed to compliment the light at random moments.
In a moment or two, the children and teacher were cleaning up and leaving for the day, leaving the area more-or-less empty of people.
They marched in a single file in no particular order, pleased with their work and eager for the weekend. Now a sort of peaceful quiet settled comfortably into the scene, with a few passersby: The wheelwright on his way home from work, a white cat poking her pink nose about, looking intently for something, a duckling on a bike, delivering a package for Uncle Scrooge McDuck. They created an easy harmony as evening began to descend.
Why did today felt brighter than any other day? For starters Rikku had collected new roommates; she was genuinely bitter when Yuna left with some little boy just to fill a void, a crumbling secret she masked from her cousin. It was a cold stab in the back to be completely ignorant and not see Yuna's unhappiness here. It ran deep enough for a massive cover-up that peaked and burst out in beacons of light when that little boy Novi poked and probed her.
She wished she could've been selfish and told Yuna to stay; they were the gullwings; they were family, and family stuck together. Instead she brightly told her to get packing and leave; despite the bright smile, Yuna could feel the hidden stigma and complied thankfully. It was a bittersweet goodbye with too many conflicting inner turmoils. Thinking about it now stings less and less, because she had two others girls under her watchful eyes.
No, she wasn't playing mother and coddling them as such. Even with her zany nature, Rikku evolved to an older sister persona and allowed Merida and Rapunzel to roam around on a loose leash. She told them what as out there beyond the castle and ravines, so they know to be careful. And soon she'll even escort them to different worlds beyond their imaginations.
But first, she must get them necessary equipments for they'll at least have a fighting chance. Merida had simple bows and arrows, and poor darling Punzie clung to...a skillet, a mere iron skillet. YES, it's effective, but it's...a skillet. Rikku chuckled her way down the street imagining the long hair-blonde whacking away heartless with skillets and spraying their eyes with cooking oil, while Merida howled in laughter in the background. Yes, the days were brighter; her days were brighter, and the girls were the raining drops of sun that caused it.
Her fingers glided along the cobblestone walls and brushed passed vines that started to taking over the city. The drops of sunshine really had made the world more beautiful each day. Everyone was on the same high. Maybe they also had someone in their lives making their hearts lighter, while the growing global stability made their hearts stronger. Descending down a flight of stairs rimmed by an archway littered with foliage and peeping rays of light, a flight of colors nearly blinded the Al Behd's spiraled green eyes.
"Hmm," she found her feet walking around a mural. It was cute in its simplistic innocent childish ways. The light of the world glowed brighter everyday especially in the hearts of children. Hearing taps of feet, Rikku leaned over to see a line of children disappearing around the bend. They were probably in school no doubt and just exerted enough energy with this outdoor activity, "Hehe this place can really use more of these."
Turning her head, a flare popped in her peripheral, and a thief's eyes were always precise. Turning back around, her brows wrinkled? What as that pretty little shine-shine? It couldn't possibly be a sphere here right in this world RIGHT UNDER HER NOSE!
Time was slowing down to a slow pace, and Tun felt the presence of so many people dissapear. A few people were still around, and every once in a while another presence would show up.
Tun notced one person in particular. A young adult garbed in bright colors. A huge standout, especially to Tun. Somewhat curious, he started to walk towards her with the attempt of appearing to have not noticed her. He simply would walk around the mural, still looking around at each design. By the time of just 20 seconds, he was standing 6 feet from her.
Like a crow, her head tilted as she slowly tip-toed into the mural; she walked and nearly danced on the balls of her feet to avoid stepping on the precious artwork that can still be wet with paint. Her face grimaced for multiple concerns; she didn't want any stains on her shoes and smudge the paintings. In her eyes, she was a skilled sleuth as light and elegant as a cat, but from the outside looking in, she was playing a childish game of hopscotch in childish scribbles. She would tilt her body hoping to be in the right position to see the flare of light again from the nooks and cranny of the cobblestone floor.
I SWEAR if a sphere was here I'll be so peeved! How long have I been here FIXING my baby, and one was HERE the entire time? Yuney would've...
Would her cousin truly stay if they had found a sphere together? Their old mission and purpose would've been restored; she wouldn't be restless sad couch potato that blossomed depressing mushroom in her dark corner of woe. No, they would be happy! They would be on an expedition as soon as possible. They would've stayed...together. The hype for sphere hunting just slackened a bit. The two people she would share this moment with wasn't with her. So what was the point? No one else would understand what this meant to her, to her world, Spira.
Squatting down, she hunched over. It was hard to tell if she was staring off in space deep in thought or scanning the floor for a shiny object, the sphere. Her elbows rested on her knees, while her hands scrunched up her cheeks and face.
Well if I'm not hunting them for us at least do it for Spira, Rikku.
It would still be a victory, but not as fulfilling.
A shadow stretched out towards her, and the curious Al Behd looked up like a meek shy child. From her curled up squatting fetal position, she looked like a child who was just pouting her life away after being scolded. Her large spiraled eyes wondered how long he's been standing there. Her eyes wandered about wondering if they were the only ones around. No, very few people zipped and cruised in and out the center, and before she can feel more eyes on her, Rikku stood up and dusted imaginary dirt from her clothes.
"Like what you see?" She interrupted the silence since he wasn't going anywhere. Now standing upright, she could say she 100% liked what she saw. On his face, she could detect the scratches and fading colors of bruise over his eyes. With a quick sweep, the details were throughout. Whoever was the craftsman was diligent for consistency, which only made her stomach twisted more. Still his face looked youthful and at peace with his rich sweet eyes and vibrant hair; it was very contrasting from the questionable marring he wore.
Tun walked by, soon hearing her respond to his presence. He thought for a second. He wasn't used to talking to people, with his uncle being the only one he talked too commonly.
"oh, umm...err....H-hi?" He mustered after a few moments. He was definetely not a talker, and this showed it. Hi? are you stupid? Try to say something else! He thought. It was true, he should say something else. Perhaps responding to her question would help.
"Yes, I mean, no, I mean......W-W-W-what's y-your name?" He quickly went through that statement. Clearly, a waste of Time, having made himself look like an idiot. First Impression destroyed. Think before you Speak, Tun. You'll get nowhere withoutr thinking through sometimes. He thought with annoyance.
Any glitter or gleam that came from the mural was gone now, as the sun finally sunk below the horizon, leaving the world in the darkness of night. The glass shard centerpiece, plastered to the mural, was dull and difficult to see unless one was scrutinizing carefully. Perhaps a person could make out a hint of his or her reflection but nothing more. Even the brighter colored pieces seemed dull now and lackluster.
Four blocks away, the lamplighter was applying his trade, filling the neighborhood with pins of light long the street. He was not in a hurry, dressed in brown work overalls, clearly a laborer of another sort who did this as a part-time job. At the rate he was going, it would be several minutes before he reached this particular clearing.
Isn't he a talker. Rikku stared at him curiously; her mind couldn't compute what just happened with that easy question. She couldn't grasp if she was that pretty to steal his breathe away, or he overall had poor communication skills. Either way she couldn't help but feel humored with a smile with a dash of embarrassment for him. His face looked too young for him to pursue, but innocent fun isn't illegal or immoral.
"Someone have a mouthful; it wouldn't surprise me if you choked," the Al Behd giggled as she walked up towards him before giving a bump with her narrow hips, "It's Rikku, and I only bite on request."
One can doubt if he saw her smile full of mischief; dusk had left them in a cool hue. Taking notice how the orange sky turned purple and blue, Rikku tried to pinpoint the time. The girls should be home right about now. Even if she let them do as they please, they still were sensible enough to not roam the world in the dark especially the uncharted and guarded terrain. They could be lounging in the gardens, since the heartless' threat diminished. Hopefully it's not too dark where they at; the world could really invest in some streetlights.
"I'm assuming you should be getting home soon," she let the last word draw out longer and linger for he can fill in the last blank with his name. From her stay here, she never saw him before. Despite how absent minded she can be, she remembered faces, especially those who have evidence of some brawl, fight, or abuse.
Whistling a merry tune, the lamplighter was soon upon them, hoisting his flame up to the candles inside the glass lamps.
"Good evening, to ya!" He sang to them, never missing a beat, as he applied his trade. He was a man of average height, with muscular arms from heavy lifting. There was a smudge of dirt upon his cheek but it did nothing to detract from his warm, friendly, chocolate brown eyes. His hair, also, was an average shade of brown, cut relatively short, slightly unkempt. His overalls were brown as were his shoes. When others speak of 'the salt of the earth,' this is the kind of man they are speaking of.

Hearing a whistling song, her attention turned away from the boy. She smiled and waved happily; finally there was a lamplighter nearby. Not only was he making it well lit, he was cute too.
"Good evening to you too," Rikku started before becoming a tease, "I was wondering how long I was going to be in the dark. I can see what they mean the world doesn't lit itself."
Oh yes because the world was being ignited by this muscular man of a man. The Al Behd held back a giggle at her own thoughts. It made her feel light and warm; she can still be a typical girl despite the surrounding chaos outside of this world. Hopefully her company didn't have to be victim of her moxy ways.
"So you never told me your name unless you forgotten it."
The lamplighter saluted Rikku, with a smile, appreciating the view, "Wouldn't want a pretty lady like yourself to have to walk in the dark." He replied with all the charm and confidence of someone who knew he was charming and didn't mind flaunting it.
Rapunzel walked along the dark streets of Radiant Garden, her feet slapping against the pavement as she walked barefoot. Rikku constantly told her the dangers of walking barefooted, but Rapunzel never saw much threat and preferred to let her feet feel the many textures of the world she had so long been locked away from. Though being locked away for so long did have a few backsides, Rapunzel didn’t know much about the outside world and hadn’t a clue about many things people would call common knowledge and it didn’t help this new “world” Radiant Garden was in such a different period of time than Corona with tons of different technological advancements.
One thing constantly ate at her, but as much as she tried to forget it she couldn’t stop picturing her poor defenseless mother and what those horrid creatures known as the heartless might have done once she got in their clutches. Rapunzel shook it off and kept walking, she had been home for awhile preparing a dinner for her two new roommates when Rikku hadn’t returned home. Now Rikku had been known for a bit of a wild side, but being in a strange new world with heart snatching creatures made Rapunzel a bit more overprotective and caring for her friends. Rikku and Merida had practically become sisters to Rapunzel and she wasn’t going to risk losing them.
Rapunzel clutched Rikku’s Frying Pan tightly; the darkness frightened her greatly and after all who knows what lurked about in the shadows. Rapunzel started using Rikku’s Frying Pan as a sort of weapon never needing to use it yet, but Flynn had her old one from Corona and her hair was rather heavy to lift up in a quick pinch. Speaking of which being home for a majority of the day Rapunzel had let her hair down and hadn’t bothered putting it in the intricate braid as usual it was rather time consuming for just staying at home and after all today she was only going out in the dark when no one was about so she thought no one would find a trail of hair and be worried.
A street light flickered on in the distance causing Rapunzel to have jumped. She flung around causing her hair to whip about accidently so she faced the figure. It seemed that the figure was making noises in the direction of another person, inaudible from Rapunzel’s standing point she wondered if it were a friend or foe. Was it speaking to her? Or to another creature? It was rather large and had a muscular figure from what she had seen. Which do to the distance was only a silhouette of the creatures body. Whatever it was Rapunzel was prepared.
