In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Sometimes, Xion found herself wandering for a purpose.
Twilight Town was very familiar to her, despite in its current ruined state, and she often found herself looking for something. A meaning, a friend, Axel, Roxas... Something. But often, she would end up past the small wood, before the locked mansion, and every time she was there, she looked for the same thing: a reason.
Something had to justify her coming back, and all that made sense was that she was a leech again. A puppet to take the memories of Sora, to further someone's goals. That hurt from before came back, and there was no Axel, no Roxas to stop it. Time and time again, she had traveled to the remnants of worlds, via Portals of Darkness, to try and find remnants of the Organization, to throw herself at them and hope they ended it quick. To not be a detriment.
But there was no Organization, no Sora. It didn't make sense. Why was she back? If it wasn't to inherit the Keyblade from Sora, why was she here? Looking at the mansion brought only questions, and also a hope that somebody would find her in this familiar place. Roxas was long gone, she had made sure he re-joined Sora in the end. But there were others, like Axel or Namine or even DiZ. But day in and day out, nobody came.
Today was different, and when she heard somebody approaching, instinct seized her, and she called the Kingdom Key in a flash of light, pointing it at whoever came near. It was more reflex than intent, but she found herself not looking. She didn't want to find out it wasn't somebody she wasn't looking for. She spoke in an empty, hopeless tone.
A sham. That's what Riku had referred to Xion's keyblade when they met some time ago, but now she was back, and it was she and her keyblade that saved them when they needed it most. The memory of her had been lost for some time now, but with her reappearance, he was beginning to remember more and more as the days went on. What he didn't understand was how she came back, and like Xion, he came to the mansion for answers. But he found nothing, no clues as to what had happened to Sora, or how Xion had returned.
He sensed her presence, and so exited the mansion to meet her outside, and his thoughts turned to the day they first met. It had been on the bridge to Beast's Castle, where he had easily defeated her, a fake. He did many things he wasn't proud of in order to wake up Sora back then, but it turned out the worst of it had been wiped from his memory until now. As it stepped out into the clearing, Xion raised her keyblade towards him, demanding to know what he wanted. He stopped short of the keyblade as it pointed to his chest, and he crossed his arms.
"I guess I deserve that. I've never exactly been a friendly face to you, have I, Xion?" If he thought he had changed after all this time, seeing Xion here today removed that thought entirely. Back then, allowing Xion to be forgotten so that Sora could return, Riku would have said it was the only option, it had to be done. But if he had learned anything after all this time, it was that there was always another way, and he simply had a track record of making the wrong choices for the right reasons. He hoped he could change that, even if he couldn't make up for everything that had happened.
“A friendlier face that some, but I can’t say I’m elated.”
She flicked her Kyeblade out of existence, looking back at the mansion, so prominent in her lifespan. So much had happened there, for better and for worse, and it held bittersweet memories for her. Times of acceptance and sacrifice, of siege and capture. In that very courtyard, she fought a good friend. But still, she found herself drawn here, for some reason she didn’t know.
“Do you wonder why it always seems to be here that we are drawn to?”
She mused out loud, looking to the side. A part of her wanted to run from him, to preserve herself in case he tried anything funny, but another part just felt nothing. He would do what he would, and that would be that. But he had no weapon drawn, and there was something much different about him than before, something stronger and more… Calm.
“I don’t know why I’m here, and it scares me, Riku. I want to say I have a heart now, but I don’t know, and I don’t want to hurt anybody. I went looking for answers, for Sora, but he’s nowhere. And if you’re here, and he’s not, then I’m worried something happened. But I don’t remember anything past his old memories, and I’m so… Confused.”
Her eyes met his, and she shrugged.
“If you want answers, I don’t have any. I doubt you do, too.”
Her lack of enthusiasm to see him was understandable, but she at least put away her keyblade. Riku would rather avoid a fight, but he was silently wondering if her keyblade was as false as the day they met. If she was willing to help them in their fight after all, a false keyblade could pose problems for them. But that would be for them to figure out later, for now he had to find out what Xion planned to do from here on; he couldn't force her to join them after all that she had been through.
As she brought up the question about the two of them seemingly drawn to this mansion, he simply shrugged as he glanced back at its looming shape, "It was a place to find answers, I suppose. Or at least, Ansem the Wise seemed to have the answers. Now it's just another empty abandoned building around here."
A few moments of silence passed between them as he glanced back to her. She began voicing her concerns and fears, and his gaze dropped thoughtfully for a moment. While Riku himself had been worried about the negative implications of Xion's appearance, now that he stood here looking at her, only to find she felt the same way. He couldn't imagine how it may have felt to be in her shoes, but he couldn't simply agree with her, it'd only drop her further into despair, and that never lead anywhere good.
He nodded, seemingly to himself as he looked back up, "Sora was working on helping those connected to him. Maybe he found a way to help you return? We might not have the answers, but maybe we can find Sora together. I can't make up for everything that's happened to you, but we could really use your help." He held out his hand towards her, realizing how much he was asking from her. She had already given everything once to save Sora, but hopefully they could change things this time around.
"Together? I... I don't know what I could do to help, Riku. I'm not connected to Sora as closely as Roxas was, and I can hardly get to Castle Oblivion without being torn to shreds by the Heartless. I'd say we lost, but I've never known what team I played for, and now I'm just moving without strings."
She looked up to the mansion, at that window where she met Namine. Things were much worse back then, but she was free, and it still didn't make sense to her. What was she doing, and why? If Sora really had saved her, that should have meant Roxas was free as well. It made no sense to her, but at the very least, Riku was offering a step in some direction. Whether that was good or bad was still up for interpretation.
"And what about you, Riku? What's changed since we last met? There's no Organization anymore, so I don't think we're enemies... But I'm used to being used as a means to an end, so I'm scared. Of what you could do to me, what happened to Sora, where anyone I care about is right now, and if they're even okay... There's a lot, and it's tying me down here. I'm free! I could travel the fallen worlds if I wanted to find lost hearts, but instead I just wander empty paths that lead here, or Castle Oblivion. I... I'm confused, that's all, I guess."
