In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Well he obviously wasn't a Heartless. At least that was what Lea thought. One hand was placed over the center of his chest. The other still held the pamphlet he'd taken off the wall. A slight bow caused the chain on his coat to jingle. "Most people call me Axel." It was the name that matched a face far more notorious than he. And yet, he shared the face and the memories. "Or you could call me Lea." In a way, Nobody, Somebody: they really were pretty much the same. Perhaps there was a difference in temperament or goals, but the appearance and the voice remained the same. And what of the heart and the mind of a person? In the end, whatever Lorena wanted to call him would be her choice.
Now what of his business?
"It seems the refugees are gathering for a meeting relevant to our future. I figured it might be nice to step in and give my two cents." The fancy words scrawled next to the moogle blowing a trumpet indicated such on the flyer. But she mentioned a threat, and there was a certain spark in those bright jade eyes. A smirk snapped across the fire-wielder's face.
"But, if extra firepower's what you need," he tucked the flyer into his coat as flame began to snap into existence along his shoulders. Then he stretched out both hands, allowing his wheel weapons to roll to a stop as they dropped into ready fingers. "I'd be happy to oblige." Perhaps he was eager for a fight, but summoning his weapons now served dual purposes: first, it showed willing assistance to the woman with her bow trained on him. Second, he would have weapons at the ready in case she decided to attack him. There really was no harm in being prepared. And it probably wasn't the brightest idea to go flashing his keyblade around to everyone on first meeting, so the Chakrams were a good fallback. Using them came so much more naturally anyway.
Her bow was still trained on the red-haired man for a few moments as she deliberated. He held one of the many flyers that had been posted all over town, and he seemed to be merely another resident or refugee trying to attend the meeting. Once she mentioned an incoming danger though, he offered to help her defend the area, which was enough for her to lower her weapon. She studied his weapons as they appeared from a sudden burst of flame before sending a curt nod his way. Even if he did end up being a threat, falsely offering assistance to her up here on this roof was a better option than allowing the stranger straight into the infirmary. She'd just have to keep an eye on him; even the friendliest faces could hide the sharpest teeth.
"Very well. I hope you have more than firepower though, Lea. Supposedly there's a dragon about, and somehow I imagine fire will be less effective against it." If it came off harsh, it wasn't entirely intentional on Lorena's part, she was just simply stating the facts. She had heard stories of dragons on her home world in Grendam; brilliant creatures who could breath fire and soar through the skies. If the dragon Avari described was anything like it, they'd certainly be in for a tough battle.
"A dragon?" What a fantastic adversary! The slender redhead listened to Lorena's concern. He flashed her a smirk. She was right, fire against a dragon didn't sound all that effective. "Then we'll just have to outwit it!" It was a simple statement, but in it was all the hot air of his inflated confidence.
His fingers tightened their grip on the black handles of his chakrams, and his expression told her he had more to offer than fire alone.
The prospect of fighting a dragon got him excited, sure. It would be great bragging rights. But that concept alone wouldn't make him stupid.
If anything, they would have the best chances sticking together, but just where would a dragon hide in this town? There weren't that many options for something so large in such narrow alleys. Maybe she would tell him more: like what her plan was for combating such a sizable foe. Or maybe if she knew where it went.
The moogle previously leading the town hall meeting jetted out of the infirmary building and fluttered hastily through the streets. He was in so much of a hurry that he failed to notice that a couple of the Osmosis Amulets he'd been carrying had quite simply tumbled to the ground.
Though the young silver haired woman was normally quite serious, she couldn't resist a smirk in light of Lea's confidence in light of such a powerful enemy. His reaction to hearing about a dragon wasn't quite what she expected, but perhaps that simply meant he knew his way around a fight. That, or he was simply arrogant, but considering the situation, the refugees could use all the help they could get; especially if a number of them were leaving Twilight Town to go see this 'Castle Oblivion'.
"Very well. I believe the meeting is still ongoing inside, but I'll be staying out here to keep an eye out for that dragon. It might not show its face, but if it does, we don't want to be caught off guard."
As the two of them spoke, the moogle named Whimsy floated out of the building and rushed onward and out of sight, dropping a couple amulets onto the ground. Perhaps the meeting was over then, but she couldn't be sure, and she wouldn't leave her post just yet; if the dragon was still around, her best chance of spotting it would be from high up.
It wasn't his first encounter with the less-than-savory things of the world. There were many Heartless and Nobodies he'd seen take on all sorts of weird shapes. After seeing those things, a Dragon really wasn't so unbelievable.
Lea watched the little moogle flee quickly and took a few paces to see what Whimsy had dropped. He set the chakram in his right hand down, resting it against the wall of the nearest building, and picked up the flashy little trinkets. There were two: just enough for each of them.
As he picked up both weapon grips in his left hand, there was a light metallic scraping sound from where a few of the spikes rubbed against the street as he lifted them. Of course, he never faltered from the conversation at hand. "I would think the most advantageous place to spot a Dragon would be from the top of the Clock Tower. You can see most of the town from up there."
With a few easy paces back into Lorena's proximity, he offered her one of the tiny trinkets. It wasn't a big deal if she didn't take it, but he might as well pass them out: it looked like maybe that was the intention here. His jade gaze rested on her, curious to know where she wanted to go with this.
Lorena glanced towards the clock tower as Lea suggested it as a good scouting location, seeing as how it overlooked the entire city. He certainly made a fair point, but it was one Lorena had to think over nonetheless. "That certainly would be a good start, had we a search party, but its dangerous to wander alone for now, or even in smaller groups. The girl that was attacked by the dragon survived somehow, but the next victim may not be so lucky. We also need a defensible position if we are to keep the rest of the refugees safe; a central location with barricades perhaps. It wouldn't stop a flying dragon, but it may slow down the smaller heartless."
"With likely many of us leaving to pursue Castle Oblivion, those of us remaining will have to do everything we can to survive in the meantime." She didn't blame anyone for wanting to leave this place in hopes of restoring more worlds, but if this was one of the last worlds remaining, they had to safeguard it. And being from a world that was strife with powerlust and war, she was in no rush to get back to her own home; not when she believed the existance of her and Max's world proved to be more harm than good. Being from such a world, on the other hand, may have given her just the tactical mind to aid everyone in protecting the worlds that did remain.
Lorena turned back to Lea as he approached, holding the two trinkets the moogle had dropped earlier out towards her. Perplexed, she took on of the amulets from him and turned it over once, and then twice as she studied it. "What is this? Some form of magic?" She looked up quizically at Lea, curious as to whether he had some insight into the moogle's tool.
Lea of course was a great fighter, but a bit lackluster when it came to the Keyblade arts. Perhaps it would be better to let the others go on without him. But then again, what if they needed more offense? Ehh... maybe he'd just deal with that problem when it came up.
For now it was better to focus on the task at hand. And Lorena seemed like she had a loose plan brewing. Well as far as he was concerned, Lorena could handle the details, Axel never really was much good at those. When it came to finer calculations, he was more of an improv and action kind of guy.
"Well if defensible is what you're looking for, perhaps we oughta head for The Underground. I'm sure there's gotta be a couple of open access points that survived the cataclysm." There was always the option that the Dragon could camp one of the locations, but Lea had been down there a few times, and he knew that the underground network ran along most of the city. It would be hard for even a large flying beast to camp at all of the exits at once. "As long as the internal structure hasn't been damaged, we can get to most of the city from there. And I doubt a Dragon could fit through the entrances. Our only real threat would be whatever Heartless are in there." But between Heartless and a Dragon, the former seemed far easier to eradicate.
Lorena listened as Lea suggested the tunnels beneath the town, and she nodded, ”Yes, provided it is structurally sound that would certainly deter a dragon. It’s greatest advantage is the air after all.” She glanced back at her new red-haired acquaintance, ”You’re familiar with this world then, aren’t you? Is this Underground large enough to house all the refugees do you think? Perhaps we can gather some of the others to go assess the tunnels’ structural integrity.”
She brought a finger to her chin as she considered all of this. It would certainly deter dragon if they all moved underground, but they would still have to appropriately fend off heartless, while also avoid being trapped in on all sides. Not only would they have to set up barricades, but possibly support beams in the weaker part of the tunnels. And with the threat of heartless they would need whatever fighters they had remaining to set up posts and patrols and what not.
It was difficult to say whether this was the best option though until they went and checked things out, however, so she glanced back to Lea, seeing as how he seemed more familiar with this place than she was, ”Shall we go check things out then? Maybe some of the others attending the meeting could accompany us.”
"If we really have a threat that big, we don't have time to waste." He thought on it. "Honestly I haven't really seen the inside since the Nightfall, but judging by how I remember them, they're more than big enough to fit everyone inside. But that's not what worries me." He really didn't have a better option, and on short notice like this, there really didn't seem like very many better options. The Train Station was too small, and too easy a target. The old mansion had a decent basement, but the accessibility and the reality of transporting so many citizens there so quickly really didn't seem feasible either.
"Our biggest problem will probably be food and water. What happens if the dragon decides to wait us out?" They'd have to come out for more -some- time. The best thing they had would be the possibility of going out when and where the beast didn't suspect them. But that could be tricky. They were mere ants in comparison: a dragon could cover more distance much quicker.
After a moment of thinking on it, Lea shrugged. There was a small sigh as he spoke. "But, given the situation, I guess the underground is still our best option." Thinking too long always resulted in frustration and stagnation. He pushed the heavy details from his mind. After all, the Flurry was pretty good at thinking things up on the fly.
A few steps forward and a gesture of his hand suggested he was ready to move on. "Come on, let's go scout out the tunnels. We'll report back to the others with what we find."
