In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Setrio stood in the Castle in The World that Never Was, still on his quest to find some kind of military like group to become a part of. maybe it was his past life that called for it or his own need to belong. either way it was still ringing in his mind as he saw a man with long blond hair and green eyes walk past him, holding a pen and paper and writing down what Setrio could only guess were notes on something. Being the ever curious person he was...Sertrio decided to Follow him to try and get his attention.
"Hey! Are you in charge here?" Unbeknownst to Setrio, he had just said hey to Vexen. what was worse was that Vexen was in a bad mood about Demyx breaking something of his recently. Vexen turned swiftly and made a portal of darkness under Setrio's feet, teleporting the nuisance out of the castle and his hearing distance. "Who lets these people in....."
As Setrio fell he stayed calm, if not a little annoyed. "Great...where in the bloody heck am I going now" he grumbled as darkness pushed him along its path. soon he was shot out of the portal, looking around and slightly rubbing his bruised behind that he had landed on. Setrio sighed and began walking, his halberd on his shoulders "Might as well find a bar and figure out where i am......Blood and bloody ashes i hate getting thrown around like this"
Setrio sat in the pipe smoke hazed tavern and watched a barmaid he was flirting with, the woman beginning to accept his advances with small touches. Setrio took a swig of the ale he had and twirled a gold Archadian crown, weighing about a third of a pound, from his old life. "Things sure have changed....well...everything but me." he took another swig and called the woman back over for another refill, thinking to make his move.
Now, here was the thing about Traverse Town-- it accepted things. The people around here were a medley of off-worlders and travelers. Sinthia wasn't the first odd one they'd have around, and certainly not the last. She herself traveled quite a bit on her own.
Although there was a great deal she was worried about...
Either way, the werewolf had done what any self-respecting militant would do; found the busiest place and mingled, blending in with the crowd. It was a remarkable skill, that. She had a tendency to hide right in plain sight as it was, despite her appearance. Although the bar didn't have a name she cared to remember, and she'd declined service several times before the other had arrived, but it wasn't until Setrio walked into the tavern that she'd even considered anything remotely interesting.
A Nobody. She knew the smell. Had hunted and thrived off Dusks and Shadows alike, enough to know the scent and feel.
A human-bodied one. Something Sinthia had never seen before.
Her good eye slid over and her head tilted at the man's words, having been watching the guy every second. He didn't act dangerous. Just flirted with the woman that was tending the bar. Odd behavior for a Nobody. Did all human ones act like that? What were they like? Curiousoty got the best of her, and Sinthia scented the air one last time before bodily turning to face Setrio.
Changed? Really now?
When she spoke, her voice was as rough as it always was. Not that it mattered-- it often had the werewolf mistaken for a smoker or male. It mattered not. Their minds didn't comprehend-- "Friend, I don't think she wants your advances. She's been trying to politely decline the whole time."
Setrio turned to the voice and smiled "Yeah....but you can't blame me for trying. A man could easily get lost in her eyes, her ankles and even that sweet smile." He shrugged slightly taking another swig and letting the coin spin on the table for a while. As he watched it spin, another Memory assaulted him.
The coin spun and spun until Gabriel's hand landed on it, his blond hair shaking as he shook his head. "I don't want to call it...I know I'll be wrong again" Scion sat there and laughed staring down his friend "Well your going to have to call it or you owe me fifty crowns either way." "Then ye won' 'ave teh worry about them maids givin' ye teh eye" Krelzen laughed through his mug. Gabriel's hand stayed put as he thought of what to say "....Plain side facing." Scion nodded and looked at Gabriel's hand, seeming like he was peering through it "I'll say crowns facing." Gabriel took his hand off of the coin slowly and left out a loud groan at the Crown showing on the coin. Krelzen bellowed out laughing at the misfortune while Scion took his winnings and shouted "Another round for everyone!" raising cheers from all corners of the tavern.
Setrio stared at the coin that had stopped, a crown showing. He shook his head and put a hand to his temples. Why must my mind be haunted by the memories of that guy.... He took another swig and looked to her curiously "So whats a girl like you doing in a place like this?"
Nobodies had a very peculiar scent. She can't... read him. Even while he's speaking, she couldn't... sense anything. The scent was soft and hollow, a hint of something deeper, but there was nothing to indicate emotions, mood swings, nothing.
He was like a blind spot to Sinthia's radar.
Like when the rain washed everything away, leaving nothing behind.
But there was still that undercurrent of darkness, beside the emptiness. Her one eye regarded him, the other brow, scarred, lifting up. Her knife-sharp features smoothed to something like thoughtfulness.
"To tell you the truth, I've no clue."
Sinthia wasn't much of one for really giving anything away. Never let anyone under your guard.
For a moment, she saw the flashing of the coin. Instead, the werewolf looked Setrio over... Simplistic. Old-fashioned compared to herself. Interesting.
"But this is a traveler's haven, so who can honestly say?"
Setrio picked up the crown and stuffed it away in his pocket, not wanting any more memories poping up. His eyes however searched her, took in every bit of what she was. Her frail form under the armor and leather. Setrio had to wonder why he was even here and why she was here. Its best not to hash into old things...If she doesnt wish to share with me then i won't goad her into it "Probably no one here, is the sad truth...." Setrio took his mug again and took a large swig, calling the barmaid back "I'll have a refill!"
As he sat there he looked over Sinthia again a slight smirk on his face. She's not half bad looking....a little scared here or there but still not bad....now if she might add a few pounds then she would fill out nicely "You ever dice before?" he said before turning his attention back to the barmaid, winking slyly at her and getting the return wink from her. Then again....That barmaid seems to be willing and right in all the right places.
On the other hand-- there it was. Sharp. Stark. A scent that nearly knocked Sinthia into a surprised stupor. It was an odd thing. Something Sinthia almost couldn't place.
Almost.
And shook her head slightly, tilting it and taking in the low light. She almost felt like she was sitting, having a drink with an old friend. Save that Sinthia abhorred alcohol. Or anything that she couldn't get herself. The place was quaint and loud, even for her, when she was rather good and drowning out unneeded distractions.
Odd, how Sinthia's mind had gotten so blank in the quiet calm of Traverse.
"The term isn't particularly familiar," the werewolf stated simply, her gloved palms resting against the bar as she glanced around again. It was difficult-- many smells and sounds at once. Her eye could only process so much. It rested on the vague splash of color on a bottle-filled shelf. "Pardon. I have not introduced myself..." Her she paused, a smile pulling at her lips, the one side a little sloppy from the scar, an almost sneer. But who was she to hide her title? For months now, it was getting harder and harder to keep attempting to leave it out.
It wasn't in her anymore.
"Sinthia Anne Owens, former General of what had once been the ANNEX Hunter and Tracker Devision. And you are...?"
Setrio tried to quell down the memory that was beginning to form but could not. He cursed himself mentally for it. "Scion Debreganth, General of the Archadian Army and Leader of the Red Hand." He shook his head violently and smiled "Sorry what I meant to say was I'm Setrio Abara just a gambler and all around mercenary" He smiled he knew most mothers would know as something their sons would do if they were trying to cover up a screw up in their lie.
Blood and bloody ashes you dead moron! Stop making me remember! I'm not you!!! I'm Setrio not Scion! He took another eager swig of his now refilled mug and took out some dice. "its a simple game of toss the dice...whoever has the higher faces wins....if its a tie and if we were betting then the money from the tie round would go on to the next round"
A former general as well? Heh. something in her wondered, far off, if the Nobody had been that or that had been the Somebody. Wondered a great many things... Granted, there wasn't a lot she knew about them, but there were rumors.
That smile. So hollow. Did no one else see it?
Sinthia tilted her head again, dark hair messily trailing in her face, a hand coming up to brush them out of her face, and her hand trailed her scar for a second-- the only remembrance that she would allow herself. But it didn't last. The memory of that heartless was lost and gone. She forced it down, her smile tilting up a little more. Knowingly so.
"A pleasure, Setrio Abara. However, I will have to decline." Sinthia nodded slightly at the dice. "It's against my religion, dear."
Setrio forwned wondering why she looked so contempaltive. Trying to understand an oddball like me?....Maybe "well that no fun....Dont you ever go out on the town and have a good time?" he turned his head and made a few subtle jestures to the barmaid who giggled and nodded taking off her apron and wlaking upstairs to the rooms people could pay for, Setrio having paid for one for three nights worth. Well at least I wont be bored tonight.
He took another swig and stared at her, another memory coming up but this time it didnt esscape his lips.
The battlefield was barren with bodies randomly piled here and there while the rest of the batle progressed. Scion sat atop his gelding and yelled out to his troops "Los! Los caba'drin! Muad'drin tia dar allende caba'drin rhiadem!" The soldiers knew this old language as Scion had taught it to them so the enemy wouldnt know their plans. All the soldiers knew he had just said 'Forward! Forward horsemen! Footmen prepare to pass cavalry forward!' The enemy was caught off guard by this manuver and fell soon after. Scion just shook his head and sighed. He was lucky....but the fight just now was nothing compared to past wars.
Setrio shook his head again and muttered "Sa souvraya niende misain ye." which roughly translated to 'I am lost in my own mind."
Who was this man? Who has his Somebody been to invoke such an attitude? What made his actions? His current self?
Funny. It was something that had never been thought of in a long time...
Sinthia thought of Cyble. Sweet, gentle Cyble, who completely the other half of her entirety. But it was something so vague. It made her chin drop down into her palm, her armored elbow resting against the counter top, waving off another attempt at service. Her darkly tanned face lost the smile, her lips pressing into a line in firm determination.
He was a Nobody.
A powerful one.
His scent was almost cloying now, and there was... no heartbeat. None.
Like he was a corpse.
Heh. The remnants of an old self. Of course he was nothing but a corpse. Almost from a time long past, judging by the weapon he kept near by. This was the only bar that didn't outlaw them from the premises in town. Then again, Sinthia had never really needed a weapon other than her fists most of the time. But, oh, she missed, in some way, the rush of the old... cities falling at her feet, victory on her tongue, a blood-sweet thing.
"I think you are attempting to apply a frame of mind to someone who understands not, good sir," she commented, tucking some wild hair behind an elongated ear, fingering a piercing. Attempting to place, yet again, a frame of psychology to someone who didn't need it. Appreances were deceiving. Always.
Setrio fingered his naginata lightly as it rested against his side. It was only one of the things that made him who he was. well that and the memories of that Scion. "well whatever the case...im going to head on up to my room. I have a feeling someone's waiting for me....if you wait...i'll be back down in a few minutes" Setrio hefted the naginata on his shoulder and headed up the stairs.
In the room.....
As Setrio entered he smiled at the maid who forcefully took him down onto the bed, Setrio smiling at her forwardness. "My arent we eager" the maid said nothing and smiled as she turned away from him, trying to get something. Setrio thought about the woman he had met downstairs trying to figure out why she had studdied him so. He was rudely awakened when he started hearing the dice in his head rattling Why do I have a bad feeling about this.... As he looked to the maid, she turned with a wicked grin and a knife, her chest more exposed now showing the symbol of a heartless. The only words out of Setrio's mouth before he rolled off the bed were "OH BLOODY HECK!"
Naginata... now that was another thing she hadn't seen in a while, either.
If I wait...
"Hmph," Sinthia grunted as she turned more fully to the counter and finally accepted a glass of water, paying for it with few words exchanged, looking at her reflection in the glass for a moment, sipping it.
If she waited, then maybe the curiosity would abate.
What were Nobodies anyways? What made them? That was something she wanted to know. After all, knowing too much...
The werewolf shrugged the thought off, immersed in the too-loud chatter, the warmth of the room. So old fashioned. So quaint. And she was unnoticed, no one cared. A comforting thing.
Setrio rolled out of the way of the woman's....no....the heartless's knife again trying to get to his naginata. The woman stood over him, her eyes turning the luminescant yellow of all heartless as he rolled under her and got up with his reclaimed naginata. "So you must like it rough huh...well I can't disapoint a lady now can I?" He retorted as he started attacking her to get her far enough back. the dice rolled feveretnly in his mind not wanting to stop quite yet. Bloody ashes...if I get out of this im going to watch before I flirt.
He got the heartless woman's arm with his weapons tip, making her stager back slightly. It was then that he took his chance, spinning the blade feverently around him, saying in hushed tones that would not cause a rucus "Bladed assault". The woman stood there and too the hits, being torn to shreds, Setrio kept his naginata on him and tossed a single exploding die back on her and closed the door walking back down. As he reached the bottom of the stairs he snaped his fingers and said under his breath "Grand Archanum" a loud bang being heard from upstairs. He sat next to Sinthia and smiled "So care to take a walk out of here?"
Sinthia hadn't been paying attention, and the loud bang-- her whole body had jolted, the sound of war and gunfire not to far behind it in her mind. It was one of the few things that, in a large way, that never left her. War never would.
And when Setrio sat down, she looked him over, the people around suddenly very quiet...
Relaxing her body and smoothing out the snarl that wanted to crawl up, the werewolf pulled herself to her feet, boots scarping along with stone of the floor, looking around at the slight confusion and the bartender motioning to take a look.
An explosion.
Sinthia didn't like this. The scent and pull of darkness was gone.
"If you so wish, perhaps," she murmured to avoid attention, and smoothly made for the door, her tall, willowy frame nothing but animal grace as she pulled it open and left, simple as that. Not even tossing a look over her shoulder.
Setrio followed Sinthia quickly, tossing a bag of munny back at the inkeeper for the drinks he had had. So far one of the women had tried to kill him. He looked over Sinthia again and wondered if it would be two women. "So how did you get here?....I got thrown through a dark portal by some guy in a black suit" He shrugged slightly and looked around wondering where she was heading.
