In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

"...Hmph," Came from across the room, though there was a skeptical eye being cast about. It was very much like Merlin to be unconcerned with the matter. He seemed to know what he was doing, even if everyone else didn't.
That was about the only thing keeping Leon from really bothering. Or leaving. It was a matter of faint curiosity as well. He'd otherwise yet to move from his usual position, gaze critical but still seemingly uninterested.
Tifa had run into shapeshifting and shapeshifters before. Whether it be the transformations that occurred on various worlds, the mad witch that Merlin had told her about, or people who simply didn't like their natural form, shapeshifting was far from a rare occurrence. That said, Tifa was amazed that she hadn't noticed earlier. Human intelligence, no human speech, unnatural quantities akin to those of changelings, all were telltale signs of shapeshifters.
So, with one more human amongst their midst, Tifa felt the need to mirror the others' greetings. "Oh. Hello! This explains a lot. What's your name? Have you seen a guy with spiky hair lately?" The standard questions. She didn't really expect an answer to the last one, but on the other hand she hadn't expected a shapeshifter either. Maybe this time she'd be lucky.

So...many...people talking at once...
"Uh, hi! Welcome to Radiant Garden."
"Yes, welcome."
"...Hmph."
"Oh. Hello! This explains a lot. What's your name? Have you seen a guy with spiky hair lately?"
Sage did her best with trying to respond to all of those that called for a response, but it was the girl whose leg she had run into earlier's response that made her head spin. To Yuffie and Merlin she cracked a small smile and softly replied, "Thank you.". Seeing as how her chances of now getting some food were toast--no pun intended--she might as well not be rude. She had nothing to say to the guy, just a slightly visible nod of her head toward him. Finally she faced Tifa. "Err, hi, Sage, what color hair?"
There. She had finally replied to all their responses and now she felt it was her turn to ask Merlin a couple questions of her own. He had seen through her innocent fox act and knew that she was a shape shifter, but she wondered if he actually knew what species she was. "Excuse me," she asked as she looked at the white-haired man, "If you knew I was a shape shifter do you know anything about my species?" Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, all Sage wanted to know right now is if her search for any remaining Firefoxes was really hopeless or not.
Contrary to popular belief, Merlin did not know everything...which is why he read books. Granted, he could rattle off quite a bit of information about the various flora and fauna of Medieval England, Traverse Town, Bermuda, Radiant Garden, Brazil, and a few select locations in South Africa, but he could not could honestly be expected to memorize every species that ever came into existence.
He did know how to obtain information, which, in many ways (he would argue) was just as important as knowing it.
Setting down a plate of ham sandwiches and pouring himself a cup of tea, he spoke, "I regret to say that I do not. But stay a while yet and I'm sure we can find the answers you're looking for. Please, do sit down for a bit of lunch, will you?" Merlin had passed through so many time zones within the last forty-eight hours, he wasn't quite sure if it was actually lunch time here. However, he was hungry from traveling and had to be forgiven.
Huh.... lunch already? Leon was actually pretty good at keeping himself well taken care of. Usually made time for breakfast, even if it wasn't much, a good jog early in the morning, combined with a bit of a work out to keep at peak physical condition. Lunch on the other hand? Eh... that tended to slip. Come to think of it, what was left in the fridge at home? Could have sworn there'd been some stuff that the neighbors across the street had given. Wasn't there when he'd checked this morning...
Needed to clean off the old sticky notes that were covering the damn thing, too.
...hey wait. Leon couldn't remember the last time he'd made a shopping list. Would explain the lack of food stuffs around his home. Thanks to a certain ex-SOLDIER, everything was gone pretty quick. If not for the fact that every on the town tended to share he'd probably be crap out of luck.
Damn, now he was getting hungry. Which was unwarranted; not that it mattered.
Leon was off in his own little world, compartmentalized mind flitting from subject to subject, having lost, some time back, complete contact with the outside would, content to lean against the wall, still.
Yuffie could imagine not knowing about who you were, where you came from, all of that stuff that really mattered; the meat and potatoes of identity in large numbers. It wasn't easy living without it, and it wasn't all that functional of a lifestyle either. Wutai was in the past, but she knew about it, it all worked out in the end.
Lunch was now? Huh... sure didn't feel like it.
All this talk of fire and foxes and... other things sure did make the time fly by.

((Erm, I'm just going to skip Gorrad.))
Well, great. Now that they knew she was a shape shifter, all the chatter immediately died down. She had waited to hear for Tifa's answer, but found it best to answer the wizard's question--well more of a wish--before it was too late. "Lunch sounds great." she offered to Merlin with a small smile. Great would be the understatement of the century.
As he set down the plate of ham sandwiches and poured a cup of tea she could almost taste the food in her mouth. Didn't anyone else want any though? Sage was pretty sure that Merlin would have some, but as she looked to the older guy off in his own little world, he didn't look to hungry. Nor did Yuffie. Did she intrude on something by turning out to not be a regular fox and rather a shape shifter of some sorts? She certainly hoped not.
"I'm a Firefox, does it ring a bell at all?"[/color] She walked over and looked curiously for any signs of emotions that might show when the wizard heard these words. Gingerly she picked up a sandwich and began to fill her stomach as she prepared to hear of the bad news all over again. But this time she was expecting another part of the story on, hopefully it would turn out that the Firefoxes had made a come back and that everything would be OK. But deep inside she had a feeling that it wasn't going to turn out that way.
Tifa sat at the table with the others. "Light blond hair. Kind of corn-colored. He has a big sword, too." She looked up at Merlin, the taste of her trail mix still in her mouth, "Do you mind if I join you? I'm not hungry, but if she's from a new world, I should check it out."
Tifa looked back over at Sage. "What can you tell us about this world? Grass and sky color, intelligent life, that sort of thing. Also, if you have any idea where it is or was, we could use that information as well." As she said this, Tifa scrolled through her mental list of worlds. It wasn't...no...not Sherwood either...it could be...nah...hmm, what about England? No, Merlin would have recognized her. This was a new world, that was almost certain. She may need to call in Sora to help her for this one. New worlds were his forte.
