In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

As he traveled on the Gummi Ship known as Elona, the black haired teenager was extremely bored. He was sitting on a couch, his blue gaze locked in the floor below him. Erika, Max and him were heading to Olympus Coliseum, to rescue Rubix from Hades´s clutches. "Dying should be horrible... but peaceful at the same time." The fire user had thought about it for some time. What would happen if Rubix was indeed dead? Would Hades give him up so easily? What would he want in exchange? Perhaps another minion? The teenager was willing to take Rubix´s place if the Lord of the Dead released him. But who knows, maybe he would want something more.
Mikael glanced once more at the long hallway, which leaded to the Training Room. He had a strange urge to enter the room and train, train to hone his skills. He had been relying on his fire skills lately, but he needed to keep his swordmanship skills in shape as well. Thinking that both of his traveling partners were asleep at their respective bedrooms, Mikael quietly darted off to the Training Room, not making any sound as he crossed the hallway rather quickly. At last, it was in front of him. Mikael opened the door, entering the techy room. Who knows what will await him there...
Max looked at Mikael as he walked past. Max was sitting in a dark corner of the "living room" of the ship, which made him a little difficult to see. Grinning and deciding to have a bit of fun, he snuck up behind Mikael as he was standing at the door.
Then, Pike in hand, he sharply poked him in the shoulder, not hard enough to cause actual harm, but definitely enough to sting.
He actually had to supress laughter. He almost burst out laughing at the top of his lungs.
Just before he could step a foot inside the Training Room, Mikael felt a slight poke at his shoulder with what felt like a sharp thing. He immediately remembered the last time Princess Garnet had traveled on his Gummi Ship, and the attack of the Heartless. Fearing the worst, the teenager quickly closed his eyes while focusing some of his energy at his right foot. Suddenly, his right leg became surrounded by fire before he started to turn around over his left, directing the firey kick at the son of darkness...
As he got a glimpse of the being that had poked him, Mikael managed to stop the attack an inch before it hit. It wasn't a Heartless after all. "God! If you would have been an inch closer to me, your clothes would be on flames right now. Seriously, please don't do that again, even though I know you wanted some payback from the fright I gave you at the Pride Lands." The teenager grinned as he looked at the water manipulator: Max. Heh, that had been a good one. Max had startled him a bit with his joke. Ok, he had startled him a lot with his joke.
"So, I guess you were bored as well. I expected you to be asleep just as my other stubborn guest." He said sarcastically as he glanced at the room where Erika currently slept. The fire user could tell she was really tired. "Oh well, I guess that since you are here I have to show you something. It might pick your interest." Mikael said as he moved aside, leaving the path to the door open. "After you."
(So yeah, the Training Room is basically a white room controled by a female AI known as "Eve". Upon entering, it will identify Max and kind of copy his memories)
Max reacted quickly, grabbing Mikarl's leg, water around his arm to protect himself from the flames. He was grinning at the younger one as he let go of him.
"It wasn't payback at all," he said,"Just a bit of fun."
He kept grinning as Mikael mentioned something about the room in front of them, and then motioned for Max to lead the way. He just shrugged and stepped inside, the room very large and white.
Then, he heard a strange voice from nowhere.
"Scanning memories," The voice said. It was then silent for a few moments before saying,"Rendering Environment."
Max's breath caught as the white room melted away, and was replaced by massive stone walls, one with a pair of massive double-iron doors, easily large enough for a large house to be built within their frame. There was also a massive keep, easily mistaken for a mountain when seen from the horizon.
The strangest thing was, he recognized this place. It was Fort Sentra, the location of the keyhole on his homeworld......
The place where the Drydenian Army had made its final stand against the heartless invading their world. The place where he had been taken by the corridors of darkness to Traverse Town as the Heartless moved toward the keyhole.
He turned, seeing a small blemish in the illusion: the doorway with Mikael standing in it.
Mikael watched with curiosity as the man entered the white room. He was wondering what kind of reaction would Eve have when she realized that it wasn't him who entered the room. He ran a hand through his black hair as he gazed at the white room, from where a female voice emerged. "Scanning memories... Rendering Environment." Suddenly, the inside of the Training Room started to change into... a new place for the fire user. It seemed that they were located on a large fortress, and by looking at Max's face one could tell that he knew their location.
"It seems that you know this place." Mikael said calmly as he closed the door, leaving the simulation flawless. "Well, this seems to be a Training Room, but is not the usual training room you would find. This one seems to copy your memories and recreate familiar places for you to train on. It seems that since you entered first, Eve recreated a place from your memories. Isn't that right, Eve?" He glanced around the place, wondering where they were. It was a quite interesting place, the stone walls were quite marvelous. There was a similar fortress surrounding Elona Village back at his homeworld, but it couldn't be compared with this humongous structure. "That is correct, Mikael. Location: Fort Sentra, Kingdom of Strife." The robotic voice replied. Now, Mikael only waited for the man's reaction.
Max looked at Mikael, a questioning look on his face. He didn't know if he liked Mikarl's machine invading his mind and copying his memories, even to do something so harmless as to create an illusion. He let it go, however. Mikael meant no harm, so he had no reason to be so apprehensive.
Then, he heard the disembodied voice name the fort, getting it perfect.
"Yeah.....this is Fort Sentra...," he said quietly, his voice trailing off as he looked around,"Where the keyhole to my world was. Where the heartless finally managed to overwhem us and win, after three years of hard fighting."
He looked around, drinking it all in. The fort seemed to be in pristine condition, unlike the last time he'd seen it. During the final battle, gigantic heartless had smashed in the walls, opening the fort up to attack by the smaller heartless while the fliers flew in over the walls, harrying the soldiers.
"So, this is a training room, huh?" he said, turning to Mikael as he broke free from his thoughts, a grin on his face,"Up for a little sparring session?"
(AHHHH! My whole post vanished!!! *is very pissed at his laptop* Sorry if it comes somewhat crappy, my muse was killed after this.)
Mikael listened carefully as the water manipulator remembered the destruction and death of his world. He had gotten the chance to defend his world against those sons of a bitch, and even though he had failed, he had been there to help protecting it against them, until it was too late. That could be considered as a thing Max would tell to his descendants. However, the destruction of the fire user´s home hadn´t been like that. While the Heartless attacked his homeworld, Mikael chased an assassin and kidnapper through all the galaxy, only to find out that Mira had escaped her captor just before the fire user could reach the man. Unfortunately, just as the teenager saw his world, he realized it was absolutely not ok. A giant dark portal was sucking the planet, making it disappear before his eyes, and into darkness.
People would say that they would have done the same if they had been in his place, going to save their friend. Besides, how could the fire user been aware of the Heartless´s plan of world domination? However, Mikael´s soul carried a feeling of guilt, thinking that if he had been there, his world wouldn´t have vanished. He thought he had been selfish, only caring for what was important for him. And now for what? Mira could be dead right now, and Hades would be laughing and dancing around her body happily.
"You were lucky... lucky to having attempted and tried to save your world, fighting for it. As for me, I was chasing an assassin through the galaxy as the Heartless appeared in my world. I was selfish, only caring to save what was important to me. We, my people, knew of their existence, but we never thought that they would invade our home. And when I came back with empty hands, hoping to at least find my world ok as always... I saw my home disappeared before my eyes."
Not even a tear came out of his eyes this time. The guilt would torment him for years to come, and there was no peace in his heart; there was only hate and passion. Through them, he gained strength, and through strength, he gained power at last. The power to temporally free him self from guilt´s chains. He remembered the time when he and Fearon defeated that Darkside Heartless at Twilight Town. He remembered the feeling he got when he saw the creature defeated, vanishing back into darkness as a coward. He remembered feeling the pressure over his shoulders being lifted for some moments. A temporal moment of peace. He then heard Max speak once again. Indeed, a sparring session would be good for Mikael, specially since he needed to send those thoughts and memories away. His mind was clouded by them. "Sure thing!" he gladly said, immediately changing into a defensive unarmed position. Of course, he wasn´t going to fight without a weapon. But wanted to see the man´s reaction.
As Mikael talked about watching his world disporar before his eyes. He could only think of one thing: how lucky he was to have not fought the futile battle for three years.
"Believe Me, you wouldn't have wanted to fight the one we had to," he said,"If I had a choice, i'd've prefered to run instead of go through those horrors again."
He grinned as Mikael accepted his offer for sparring. The younger boy took up an unarmed stance, ready for an attack. Max just laughed and shrugged, hoisting his pike and throwing it at him, dead on the mark, the long, wide spear-head aimed right at his stomach.
It wasn't thrown very fast, allowing Mikael ample time to dodge. He knew he was fast, so he wasn't worried.
"Hmm, actually I would; I would prepare to fight the Heartless and defend my world and its people, even if my life is at risk. If we don´t do it, who else will? That´s one of my main reasons for fighting the Heartless, to prevent the further destruction of worlds and the overpopulation of Traverse Town." Mikael would actually prefer to battle those creatures for three years than running away like a coward. Yes, he believed in running to fight another day, but that became invalid in his book when he learned of someone being affected by that decision.
As Max laughed at his initial fighting position, the fire user smirked. He didn´t need a weapon to fight, specially when the opponent was handing it to him, even if they didn´t realize their mistake. "Perfect" the young man thought as he watched the water user throw his pike directly at his stomach. It was thrown lower than he expected, but his plan could work. As the weapon was about to leave the man´s hand, Mikael quickly moved to his left, confident that the wepon didn´t hit. However, he moved his right hand right at the direction of the pike, just a little lower so it wouldn´t hit. Suddenly, as the weapon flew beside him, he raised his hand and caught it.
"Changing battle conditions: Nightime and rain." Damn it, rain! That was not good for the fire user! However, he suddenly had an idea as the illusion around them transformed. Mikael started by summoning a large wall of fire in front of him. Aided by the rain, Max wouldn´t struggle with it, but it wasn´t an offensive play. It was a distraction. Suddenly, Mikael noticed some trees nearby; he threw the pike in that direction, quickly removed his white jacket and ran with speed toward the small clan of trees. Dark clothes plus darkness = stealth boost. As he hid behind a tree, the fire user hoped that Max didn´t find him or the pike: he wanted the man to use only water attacks.
Max put on a very convincing fake scowl as Mikael grabbed his pike and tossed it into a clump of trees as it went dark and began raining. Even though the rain was an illusion, it behaved as if it was real. He could even feel everything it touched.
That was definitely something Mikael hadn't expected, obviously, since he'd shed his white jacket and ran into the darkness of the trees. It was a by-product of the way his magic worked: because he could feel the way he manipulated the water, he could also feel everything it was touching when it was raining.
Using the rain, Max gathered a large amount of water and quickly extinguished the fire wall, steam rising into the sky. Now that that was over....
The fake scowl still on his face, he began looking around as if he had no clue where Mikael was, moving "blindly" in his direction. At the same time, he gathered a small amount of water and grabbed the pike with the water, raising it soundlessly off the ground a little bit, moving it over e right behind Mikael and gently poking him with the sharp tip.
A grin spread across his face as he sent a blast of water from Mikarl's side at the same time, the liquid as solid as stone.
Mikael was already hidden behind the tree by the time the water user had taken care of the fire wall. He silently moved a little, making him able to glance at his opponent a little. He seemed to be looking for him... or the pike. The fire user´s eyes narrowed as the man gathered some water and sent it to another direction. Maybe he was using the element to help him look. However, as he continued to spy at Max, who was now closer to his location, he felt a slight poke in his right shoulder. He quickly turned around to find... the pike? "Wait, who is using the pike?!" The young man thought as he analized the weapon.
Then he noticed it; water. Mikael grabbed the pike once again, but that wasn´t the end of the other man´s attack. As he turned around to look at Max, he realized that a blast of water was headed toward him. "Wonderful" The fire user sarcastically muttered as he moved his free left hand in circles, creating a hard lava shield to protect him. He smirked, throwing the weapon back at the man for him to catch. "There! I don´t need it!" he said as two swords materialized in his hands. This was going to be fun.
Max grinned as Mikael tossed his pike back at him. Max just gathered water around the pike and guided it to his outstretched hand, laughing.
"Won't underestimate Me again, will you?" he said, grinning and coming back into a defensive position. He silently gathered the rain behind Mikael into two blunt discs, only about the size of someone's outstretched hand. Then, still looking Mikael dead in the eyes, he charged, tossing the pike at him point forward and drawing his sword as the discs shot out at him.
"I wasn´t counting on the rain." Mikael shouted back, a smirk on his face. He knew that Eve wasn´t going to change the battle condition just yet, so the man would have to keep up with Max, even though he had the elemental advantage at that moment. He coated Flame´s End with orange fire, a fire which the rain alone wouldn´t be able to extinguish. What probably the water user didn´t know was that the teen could use his element´s heat waves as another eye as well. He didn´t use the ability often, but due to the circunstances and the ticks his opponent could have under the sleeve, he would.
As the fire informed him of the water discs behind him, Mikael grinned. To repel a simple tactic, only a simple defense technique was required. As Max launched his attacks, Mikael simply used the fire sword to cut the blunt discs in half. Afterward, he created another shield of hard lava to stop the pike, which had gotten stuck in the hard wall. "I´m not a weakling either, I can see that this will be interesting and fun." he stated as he moved beside another tree, standing out of Max´s way. Mikael knew that he would break the lava shields easily with his blade.
Max grinned as Mikael countered with ease. That was good. Very good. That would make this interesting.
The water manipulator just grinned and used the water to recall his pike to his hand, grasping it tightly in his hand. He grinned and turned, running into the fort itself, over a bridge over a small moat running through the courtyard between the outer walls and the fort itself, raising a large wall of compressed ice as he did. The compressed ice would take longer to melt than regular ice, so it'd slow Mikael down for a few moments. It'd likely be enough time for him to get in the fort and start his guerrila fighting.
Oh, yes, he intended to use his knowledge of the fort to p articularly good use.
Mikael raised an eyebrow as Max seemed to retreat to his lovely fortress. Great, now he had his surroundings as an advantage plus the rain; Eve was being very naughty that day. The fire user stood in front of the lava shield with haste, touching them with the firey blade to make them vanish. The young man then ran through the bridge, using his speed for trying to catch up with the water manipulator... until he found that wall of ice in the middle of the courtyard.
As he ran toward it, Mikael thought of the different things he could do to get rid of that distraction; he could either attempt to melt it, find his way around it, or make use of the tipical tactic of creating a circle in the middle of it for him to pass through. Even though all of the options would be waste of valuable time, the third one seemed to be the right one. He vanished the blue blade to hold Flame's End with both hands; as soon as he reached the wall, he cut through the wall. It would have been difficult to make the shape with a regular sword, but since fire licked the weapon, the task was made much easier. After he finished making the shape, he quickly launched a fireball to knock of the circle to let him pass. "I need to keep up with him." he said to himself as he summoned Path to Mana back to his left hand and continued toward the fort, this time using Blade's Hope to recover some lost time.
