In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Jack nodded and looked at Mikhail. "I suppose I'll see you in a bit, then, Mikhail. Stay safe- both of you," he said. He turned towards Max and jogged to his new friend. As they walked, Jack considered him. He may have been young, and somewhat scrawny, but his skill was notable. Jack himself wasn't much bigger, though he had a considerable amount of muscle on him since he started fighting Heartless. Even so, it went to show- one's fighting ability was based on skill, and not purely strength or size.
After a moment of thinking about his home world, Jack asked Max a question. "So, you're from this world- er, Disney something, right? What can you tell me about it. And this 'Queen'- who is she, exactly? Who's the king?" he asked. It came out a little fast, but Jack gave him a moment to answer his questions. He listened curiously to the answers.
Mikhail remained silent for the rest of the trip out of the Royal Gardens, thinking about... well, everything! He really doubted this adventure was coming to an end and something was telling him that they wouldn't be going back to Traverse Town anytime soon. A soft sigh escaped his lips as they continued their stroll, which would come to an end quite quickly. He nodded as Horace proceeded with his explanation but he was somewhat... reluctant to leave Jack.
Even though Horsecollar's plan made sense, the pyromancer still wondered if the younger hume was ready to be left on his own on such an unknown world for him. Of course, Maxillimion would be there to guide him but the possibilities of him being... lost were quite high. However, after Jack expressed his desire to go along with the plan Mikhail was left with no choice but to agree as well.
"Of course." he said, nodding at the horse before turning to his own apprentice. "Indeed, let's not lower our defences. There are probably more Heartless around." With that he turned, turning left to join Horace once more. Rutherford remained silent for a while, worried about the other boy's well-being. He wasn't sure if he was ready to fight a mob of Heartless yet, but at least Jack wasn't alone.
Eventually, he broke the silence.
"So... what kind of person is she? Your Queen?" he began, shifting his thought back to the purpose of their arrival. He was hoping she wasn't one of those crazy tyrants; Mikhail wanted diplomacy to go as smooth as possible.

Max;; Max looked at as if he grew a third eye socket with an arched brow, but he decided to drop his judgement of his ignorance. Max chuckled though before answering, "Well we like to call it Disney World to be exact, but this area is called Disney Castle for a reason. With the Queen and the King we get out of tight fits pretty well...you know with the Heartless and all."
As he walked, his armory clanged together, but they started to slow at nostalgia, "With them, they made it possible for this world to be pretty safe. In my childhood, I don't remember seeing a single heartless. We were panic free."
Although Max can be greatful for what they have done, it came with a price. His father was the head of the Royal Guard. Because his job required him to stay in the castle for long hours, Max lived in there with them. Also with his father being close to both the king and queen, he had more than what most civilian did.
"As for their highness, they are like family too me. My dad is the head of the royal guards, and he's been on his mission for...years." Being a soldier in training, he held back his emotions and continued, "Despite him being gone, the Queen was like the mothery aunt I never had. She and Daisy were always there for me, so..."
His sentence jumped as he tripped on the cobblestone ground. Once regaining his compolsure, the Dog chuckled nervously, "you see why I'm so grateful to her...I don't want to disappoint."
Horace;; Horace was quite laid-back stage for his age; although he had every reason to be tense, Horace just never adapted the quivering bone. Actually the heartless is keeping him in shape and youthful in action. When they split ways, he began to hum lowly to himself, while his tall ears turned to listen out for heartless lurking in the shadow.
His humming ended in a low amused hum at the question, "Your majesty is very strong kind hearted Mouse. With her leadership alongside Miss Daisy, we've been able to restore our town, the kingdom, and hope. Only a dedicated Queen will join the Royal Guards on daily town scans for heartless."
"So how goes everything in the other worlds? We haven't gotten any news from anyone; you can say we're kinda seperated when it comes to help, but we suuure gets the trouble," the horse remembered the day they returned to the castle. The Town looked ghostly dead, but the castle looked like a horrendous battle field charting a historical unknown chaos.
"And I assume that the King has something to do with your dad's mission?" he asked. He was silent for a moment afterwards, in an awkward period of contemplation. Though he had no parents now, Jack had grown up with both parents plus a sister, who had done everything his parents couldn't. Between the three, Jack had grown up with everyone he needed. Only having a father would be difficult.
After another moment, he asked, "So what sort of things is your dad supposed to do? What is the mission he's doing?'
"I see..." Fortunately enough Queen Minnie seemed like a noble and just ruler, one that would surely seek her people's well-being before anything else. If what Horace had said turnec out to be true, negotiations between the Guardians and Her Royal Highness would go smooth and pleasantly. Mikhail and his group needed a safe place to organize their forces and if Queen Minnie could give them her support they would be active and running in no time.
The soldier had some queries of his own, mainly concerning the universe and its well-being. It was quite understandable: having to rebuild and protect a country at the same time hardly left people with free time for gossip and adventure. Horace probably longed to know how the other worlds were doing... perhaps if they could lend Disney Castle a hand. Still, however, the answers the horse awaited weren't -that- hopeful.
"Unfortunately, it's not any better for most places. Heartless and Nobodies continue to lurk and roam around as well as their... superiors or "leaders". They need to be stopped but in order to achieve that goal we all need to work together, as a team. Most people are not willing to do so, though..." Sure enough, the Heartless had not ceased their happy road trip throughout the worlds, bringing sorrow and pain to the innocent. Many worlds were offering them their last twinkles as the two walked through the streets of Disney Town and they would all be consumed by the darkness.
That was mainly why he fought against the Heartless, to protect the innocent. He had seen his own home flash and vanish before his eyes and that was something he did not wish anyone to see. It was quite painful to realize everyone he knew had perished, and though he had apparently healed those painful wounds the scars were still there.

Horace;; "Nobodies?" Horace repeated the name with a contemplative expression, "so I guess those be the white things huh? At first we only had the heartless to deal with starting when the Maleficent paid us a visit a couple of years ago. Now with our main defense gone, we got the heartless and them nobodies."
The old horse shook his head. It seems besides more good news there was always bad that nearly overshadow it, but he couldn't loose hope so easily; the town and this world depended on strong leadership and support, and a worrisome guard will not be the best for anyone. "Well atleast there's fellas like you and Jack about, or there would hardly be a chance. Also I never got why people aren't willingly to lend a helping hoof. Afterall if they don't stop them heartless and the nobodies, then what are they gonna do when it all caves in on 'em? When it comes to life nobody wants to be trapped in a 'too little too late' scenario."
Horace's ears turned hearing some chattering close by, walking feet, and clanking armery, "Hey I think they're almost done. The Royal Guards scout the town then come back to make sure it's all cleaned up. Hey fellas!"
The Horse waved his gloved hand alerting attention of other royal guards. Horace Horsecollar ran through each of their names for introduction, "Mikhail, the Royal Guards, Guards meet Mikhail. He and his bud Jack had helped me and Maxie with some heartless back at the castle lookin for an audience with Queen Minnie. Did she scouted with ya?"
"No," one of the Guards named Gremlin Gus replied, "she took the right side alone thinkin you and max with catch up with her."
The Horse hummed to himself, "Well then that means that Jack and Maxie will run into her. I guess we should head back to the castle then.
Max;; "Mmhm," the dog nodded, "well years ago the king left to find out the disturbance of the world. Back then Disney Castle was the safest place ever with the light and all. My dad and Donald went to help him; they were doing the same thing you and Mikhail are doing, stopping the darkness and the bad guys."
"They had to seek out this key, the solution to all of this problem," Max looked doubtful for a moment," but it seems they will never get a break. They saved the worlds twice already, and something is still wrong. I don't know if they will ever come back...the king, Donald, and my dad."
The heartless and nobodies had caused a common problem such as stealing hearts and world destruction, but they still affect those they never touched. Here was Max who never encountered the heart of the villianous escapades, but he gets the blunt end of the activity. He looses his dad in the process of it all.
"I am proud of them you know; someone have to do something about it, but it seems everytime good comes along something bad just have to happen...as if enough bad haven't happened already."
A few blocks away from the chattering pair a neo shadow lurked in the shadows squirming between houses sniffing for prey. The houses were protected by light not allowing any heartless or nobodies to enter. If the heartless was lucky it will find prey roaming the streets, and to its luck it smelled a pair of hearts coming its away. Jumping up it dived into the ground before leaping up a few paces in front of them spinning like a helicopter.
Minnie;;
"Hmm I'm surprised Horace and Max haven't caught up just yet," she muttered out loud. She never did enjoyed the company of eery silence; all it ever did was increased the anxiety of being watched and stalked. The Mouse began to hum to herself, while her hand glowed with an orb of light.
As she walked it darted away striking a shadow. Its heart was finally purified as it floated to kingdom come. The light curved back from its flight back into her palm waiting to track down any nearby fiend.
Jack stopped for a second and looked skeptically at Max. A key? This was about a key? It must've been different than he assumed, considering how stupid it sounded. He kept going, wondering what the heck his new friend could be talking about. 'A key...' he thought.
Not a minute later, the pair was ambushed by a pair of Heartless the likes of which Jack had never seen. They looked like Shadows... on steroids. They looked much scarier than the kinds Jack had seen. However, he decided that they would die just as any other would.
He leapt back, grabbing Max in an attempt to get him out of harm's way. Jack was grazed with one of the claws, but it felt ten times worse. He grabbed his wounded arm, trying to ease the pain. He drew his sword with the injury-free arm, luckily his sword arm, and swung in a wide arc to try to hit the Neoshadow, with the second still waiting in the wings...
"Yes, those ones are the Nobodies. Mere shells of their former selves, forged from the soul and body left behind after the heart is taken. They are nothing, oblivion." Mikhail said, reciting the words he had heard long ago. A soft smile graced his features as his mind became flooded by memories of his friend, Fearon Aris, who had told him about the children of nothingness. It had been quite a while since he had last seen him and the pyromancer couldn't help but feeling a bit worried about him.
But anyway, Fearon was capable of taking care of himself.
Rutherford nodded as Horace added more to the pyromancer's own rant, totally agreeing with his thoughts. People could turn into full hypocrites sometimes, asking for help against a threat while they were not willing to oppose it as well. Sitting around and acting as a damsel-in-distress wouldn't really benefit the universe in any way and it would just force those willing to restore balance to work harder. Though it would sound harsh, such ignorant people would be nothing but a burden.
The pyromancer turned his head upon noticing the other guards standing nearby. Apparently, as Horace had said, they were done with their royal night patrol. The man looked around, looking for a mouse among the guards but was quite unsuccessful.
"A pleasure to meet you. This world seems to be recovering from the blows it has endured and I am sure you've been protecting it with your lives."
So it seemed like the other duo, Jack and Max, would be the one to run into Queen Minnie. Mikhail grinned, remembering how nervous the younger man was moments earlier. Rutherford could just hope that his apprentice didn't have a nervous breakdown of some sort as he turned around, following Horace and the rest of the guards back to the Castle...

Max;; Floppy black ears perked up making them sway as he heard a soft whistling in the air; his eyes snapped open once realizing what it was, "Neoshadow."
He was tugged away before he could react, and already he saw a flash of back tred passed them. Blood filled his nose as the neoshadow's claws raked against Jack. Gripping his spear, he thrusted at it, but it had manuevered away from him like a boomerang before it reversed back. The tip of the blade cut it along its abdomen before it landed infront of it with twitching antennas.
"Get em," Max muttered as he stepped forward to charge, but he heard a ripple seeing another Neoshadow making it two in total. One lept up at the dog with slashing claws, but the youth rose his spear horizontal in defense before throwing the weight off of him. The next was shadow jumping with a leap it jumped in its own shadow before rippling up being Jack. His arm reached out to grab and tug him back,"Hey, watch out! You can never turn your back on these guys...they can shadow jump from one place to another."
Ironically his own back was turned to the Neo Shadow behind him, who took the advantage to pounce. Feeling an icy tingle down his spine, the dog turned before meeting a pair of glowing yellow eyes; naturally he brought up his spear hoping to pierce it. With an injured comrade, their strength together had dropped a bit, and the hunger of the neoshadows was allerting other heartless to come towards them.
Minnie;; Her pace quickened as she strolled back towards the castle going with the breeze of rustling leaves. Seeing a ghostly black blur, she whipped her head quickly causing her ears to wiggle and flop. The bundle of light attacked a shadow on the wall, but more black figures were moving hastily along the cobblestone floors and the walls of house. She frowned not seeing any be attracted to her as they rushed in the direction she was heading.
Heartless don't gather without a reason. This struck concern in her thinking a resident had stepped out of their protected household for a moment sending the heartless into a feeding frenzy. The Mouse Queen began running following the spawn of darkness towards their hunting grounds. Forming a triangle with her hands, the light shined brightly before streaming faster than her sprint like a comet.
"LIGHT!"
Horace;;
The old horse stopped for a moment as tall ears perked, "Didja hear anything?"
The other royal guards looked at him slightly confused, but only shrugged not seeing a change in their area, the castle gates. "Maybe I just imagined it."
Jack did his best to defend Max against the Heartless, but the two Neoshadows were too much for the two teenagers. They'd need some help if they were going to survive this. He glanced at his arm to confirm that it was, indeed, bleeding, and quite profusely. If he didn't do something quick, he'd pass out.
"Of course, the first new Heartless I take on, I'm overwhelmed and am close to dying," he muttered, while poking at the Heartless with his sword to try to keep them at bay. He was about to go for an attack when a ball of light streaked from the side, crashing into one of the Neoshadows. It staggered for a moment, damaged heavily by the light. Jack lunged forward and stabbed to finish it off, forcing it to retreat back into the Dark Realm.
His hopes were raised as he tried to spot their savior. It had to be one of the guards or something; it was quite powerful. It being night, the source was hidded by darkness. In any case, he started to slash and hack at the Neoshadow, intent on destroying it with blunt force.
Hearing a disturbing sound from afar, Mikhail turned his head to glance back, suddenly stopping his walk. He stood there for a moment, just as if he was expecting something to happen. The pyromancer narrowed his eyes, shaking his head; he probably had just imagined it. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he turned away; apparently Horace had heard it as well.
The man could just hope Max and Jack were doing okay on their own...

Max;;
Struggling to push his spear against the Neoshadow, ears flopped at a voice or a whisper of one. His eyes blinked seeing a beacon of light hurtle nearby. For a moment he froze knowing who it was, and he snapped out of his daze when hearing the neoshadow's claws scrap against his armory. With a low grunt, he used as much energy to push the heartless away.
Minnie;;
"Light!" Another sphere of light rippled through the air to penetrate the darkness at its heart. Heels clicked as the Mouse sprinted waiting for the light to die down to see the heartless and Max's condition. As the light faded, she could see the dog whack the weakened heartless over, but before she can purify the heart it vanished into the Realm of Darkness.
"Oh, are you two okay, Max, Ho-," eyes blinked at the mistake she had caused. The old Stallion wasn't with Max, but a boy a human boy; they weren't native to Disney Castle, so he must have landed her, but the queen was concerned whether he emerged due to heartless global destruction or by gummi.
Milady, this is Jack Styx. He came with Mikhail Rutherford on a compaign for world connections with you. They helped Horace and I with heartless when we were leaving the castle for scouting ma'am. Mikhail is with Horace, and they may have joined up with the other Royal Guards.
Max had a mouth full to say, but he stopped after finishing with introduction, "Jack, this is Queen Minnie of Disney Castle."
The Queen nodded for confirmation, "It seems you two had quite an adventurous day, and seeing you two lured out the last heartless, the town is safe, and we can return to the Castle. So Jack what world are you and Mikhail from?"
Minnie ushered them along for they can talk and walk.
Horace;; "Woo, here we are back at the castle with no heartless hassle. Tonight wasn't a bad night; great job everyone Captian Goof would be happy to here that the Royal Guards have everything in top shape. Now your shift is over, so go and take the rest of the night off," the horse annouced hearing some sighs of relief and common chattering amongst the retreating royal guards.
"One shift down and another one is back on." the horse chuckled, while looking at Mikhail, "to keep this world protected we're always on a cycling shift, but I won't go off-duty until Maxie and Jack come back. He's a good kid, Max; he's been doing great just to say his father is still on his mission."
Jack breathed hard after another orb of light, along with Max, finished off the last Heartless. He straightened up to meet the Queen... who was apparently a talking mouse. Having not met royalty before, he bowed to her slightly, blushing out of nervousness.
"An honor to meet your Majesty. Actually, Mikhail and I are from different worlds. I'm from a place that we called 'The Great Storm,' on account of the constant bad weather. I'm not so sure about Mikhail, but we met on a world called Traverse Town, where he recruited me to help with his group. But I guess that's why we're here," he explained.
As they walked, he formulated a way to ask a rather strange and hopefully inoffensive question to the Queen. "No offense meant, your Majesty, but if you're.... well... not to be rude, but it's true- a mouse... Then is the King..." he left the question hanging, hoping for her to catch his drift.
M I K H A I L R U T H E R F O R D "I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF YOU ENDED UP SLAIN BY ONE OF THEM."
Now back at the castle's gardens of green, the man couldn't help but feeling some relief; they had made it back without any Heartless surprise attacks. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he glanced at the other guards, who had just been sent away to get their deserved good night rest by Horsecollar. It sure sounded tiresome... to keep those shifts cycling around. But the pyromancer probably understood their reasons: they would do anything protect their home.
"I can tell... he is quite strong. I'm absolutely certain that he'll make a great soldier one day." Mikhail could perfectly understand the young man's situation; he remembered back when he himself was a mere child, waiting for his father to come back from war when he had been summoned to fight. You could say that he wasn't -really- there when Rutherford had needed him the most. "I don't know if this is supposed to be a secret but what exactly is Max's father doing?'
M I K H A I L R U T H E R F O R D "MAYBE I'LL TAKE YOU THERE... SOMEDAY..."

Horace;; "Oh he's doing the same thing your doin', tryin to bring prosperity to the worlds. The sad part is he's been at it for uuuh 3 years now. He's been sent by the king to find this key, the key to the solution of all of this problem," Horace nodded before sighing. "Actually Donald, Disney Castle's Magician, he's been on the same mission to. I have no idea where they may be at, but hopefully all of this mess will end soon. It takes a toll on people after a while, ya know."
The Horse just took a moment to browse the area, "You know I remember when this place had no heartless and no nobodies. It was quite jolly here basking in the realm of Light. We even had this Dream Festival, the highlight of the year. It's kinda hard to have one now, especially when the Heartless or Nobodies can ruin the party, and we don't need no Maleficient here either."
Minnie;;
"Oh Traverse Town," Minnie repeated remembering that world, "that world been a home to many people for a long time now. I just hope the worlds' will stop dissappearing."
She wondered if the world ever began to get over crowded. Hopefully if the worlds were to be restored like they were before everything could go back close to the norm. Although in the darkness there's light, the darkness can still leave a deep scar. Stopping her trail of thought, her ears and attention perked hearing Jack's voice and giggled at the question.
"Well yes I am a Mouse, with a capital M; it seperates us from other mice, and yes King Mickey is a Mouse as well, but never let that fool you, great strength can from for quite small packages," the Queen wiggled her fingers before giggling at his youthfulness.
Max;;
"Mmhm, because we are a bit...anthro, anthromo..," Max struggled with the word that described the townsepeople well.
"Anthropomorphic," Mickey pipped in helping the Dog.
"Yeah, Anthropomorphic, there's a capital letter to everything being called Animals," he spoke with emphasism," rather than animals. I doubt you want people calling you a monkey."
The Dog said it as a joke and emitted a classic Goof laugh, but it ceased immediately once hearing what he did. A gloved hand covered his mouth in shock and embarrassment. His cheeks tinted once hearing the Queen comment, "Well you certainly are Goofy's son."
To remove the spotlight off of him he exclaimed, "Hey look the castle gate, I think that's Horace and Mikhail are waiting for us."
