In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Jack nodded, cheeks slowly returning to their proper color. So a talking animal rather than a normal, not-as-smart one. That explained Max and Horace, as well as a few characters he knew from Traverse Town. It was an interesting concept, however he decided to let it go for now.
As they approached the castle, Jack felt a sense of importance eminating from the structure. It was magnificent, and the only castle he'd ever been to before. White and blue, it wasn't what he expected- grey stone, a lot of turrets and towers, and largely intimidating. To put it simply, he was impressed.
"So where are Mikhail and Horace," he asked, but his question was answered when he saw his pyromancing friend and the cow. He walked alongside Max and Minnie until they were there and he waved slightly, waiting for Mikhail to pick up the ball.

Three years? That was quite a long time to be working on the same mission. Mikhail raised his eyebrows in surprise; now that he thought of it, it had been around three years as well since his homeworld, Elona, had been lost to the Heartless. Taking a deep breath the pyromancer looked away for a moment; the wounds regarding that event, though hardly noticable, still had yet to fully heal.
The young man's thoughts suddenly went back to the conversation when Horace mentioned a key, one that would apparently bring peace back to the universe.
"A key..." Rutherford muttered to himself, his mind racing as he wondered what exactly could this "key" be. Suddenly, images of Sora's and Mickey's weapons flashed before his eyes; could this be the key Max's father and Donald were looking for?
When Horsecollar began to remember the "old, good times" in Disney Castle, Mikhail couldn't help but to smile. This Dream Festival he spoke of seemed to have been an enjoyable event for all the world's citizens, one that had brought hope and joy to them. Perhaps they would be able to have another one... eventually, when the Heartless stopped popping up so frequently.
"I see. If you ever have one of those festivals, I'll sure be glad to stop by and celebrate with you guys." Reminding himself of the "key" thing they had been talking about earlier, Mikhail continued. "Horace, just wondering, is there any chance that your king is named Mickey?"
However, before he could elaborate or get a reply, the man caught a glimpse of a trio coming from afar. His lips curved into a wide grin as he looked at the younger boy, Jack, walking beside Max and a mouse... in a dress. A soft chuckle escaped his lips as he realized what was going on. So Jack had run into the Queen; sad, Mikhail would've enjoyed seeing Styx's nervous expression.
The pyromancer stepped forward, expecting Horace to follow as he walked toward them. As soon as he was close enough to the Queen, he stopped his march and offered her a low bow; being raised in a medieval world had its advantages. "Queen Minnie, it is an honor to meet you at last. I've been wanting to talk to you for quite a long time."

Horace;; "Oh yea-," Horace began to answer, but turned around hearing footsteps after his ears turned towards them. Coming towards the gate was Max, Jack, and Queen Minnie.
"Good evening, your Highness, the scan has been rather smoothly, and it seems you ran into Max and Jack. Heey looks like you two gone about just aaall right," Horace crossed his arm over his chest while giving a chuckling neigh. "Maxie good job son you done finish your first night scan."
He ruffled the Pup's hair and ears before standing at attention towards the Queen, "if your majesty insists I'll escort you and Mikhail and Jack to the Royal Library."
Max;; Yes we're almost hooome Then something dawned on Max as he turned to Jack. "Hey are you still okay from that Neoshadow? I know they're claws can be pretty rough. If you need any I'm sure we got some potions in the castle."
"Hopefully Mikhail won't go into a worrying frenzy about it," Max thought while he headed towards the castle, "protecting the worlds is an occupational hazard, but it's for the good right?"
Minnie;; "Haa home at last," Minnie smiled once seeing two figues approaching them. The first was a hume who she expected to be Mikhail, and Horace was happy to see the pair safe with the Queen. Some night shifts had become quite dark and troublesome, but luckily it wasn't too hard on Max and Jack. Even with the little struggle they had, they pulled themselves together quite nicely.
"Oh yes I found Max and Jack with some fiesty Neoshadows, and they did quite fine job with teamwork. The worlds need more of that you know, and you must be Mikhail," Minnie guested and recieve a bow, "and I've been waiting for some visits for a while as well. I've sent a knight Sir Lucas to Traverse Town a while ago. Did he sent you and is he well?"
Her one connection to the other worlds haven't said or sent a word, so the Queen was naturally concerned, but there was a slight comfort for Disney Castle to finally get a response.
Hearing Horace, she nodded her head, "That would be kind of you Horace, the cold outdoors isn't a suitable place for conversation, and I think we had enough of heartless for one night."
To Max's question, Jack looked at his wound, which was still bleeding quite well. "Eh, I've been better. But I happen to have a potion- my last, though." He pulled a potion out of the bag on his back, taking a swig. He left half of the bottle as he wriggled, feeling the odd effects of the potion as his wound quickly started to heal.
He replaced the cork and then the bottle, taking up the rear as the group entered the castle. It was still fascinating, and not at all old and stuffy. It was large, bright, and extravagant, even in the dark of night. Very nice.
M I K H A I L R U T H E R F O R D "I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF YOU ENDED UP SLAIN BY ONE OF THEM."
Upon hearing Max's statement, Mikhail's eyes fixed themselves on the brunet's arm. The bleeding wound, though not actually serious, did concerned him, at least slightly. The pyromancer was about to move toward him and cast a cure spell when he took out a strange bottle: a potion. He slightly tilted his head, observing the bottle's characteristics and forme. He knew they sold those drinks at Traverse Town but he had never really cared to buy one himself.
A memory flashed through his mind while he pondered, reminding him of his past encounters with Bonnie, the green, alien thief. She had given him one of those potions once, when he had first brought her to Traverse Town. However, for some reason, the pyromancer had never taken the time to test in on himself versus continously casting cure spells on himself.
Finally pulled out of his thoughts, the man listened carefully as Her Royal Highness complimented the younger duo's teamwork. He couldn't help but offering a grin to his protegé in an attempt to congratulate him for his work as well. The boy had plenty of potential within him and it just needed to be found and exploited. Mikhail was sure that Jack would make a fine guardian of peace soon enough.
"You are correct, he was the one that told me about you... and about how you returned to shape this world back to its glorious days. Last time I was here, things didn't look so good..." His voice trailed off as he recalled the conditions in which the castle had been left after Maleficent's and Marluxia's attempt to take over it. And that little skirmish he had had with the Dark XII probably didn't benefit the gardens. "But I agree, it would be best to speak of such matters within your castle, your majesty."

Minnie;; It didn't take long for them to be in the safe haven of the Royal Library. It was liek a study and meeting grounds all together, and since this was a small gathering it didn't need to be in the Audience Chamber. Max and Horace had filed out as a pair of guards to their place outside the Library's door as the new shift began.
"Oh I'm glad Sir Lucas finally came to contact with someone," Minnie started as she bounced around her desk to sit in her chair, while offering the seats infront of the desk for the pair. "I didn't know how long it will take, but there's no time like the present right. So about your campaign?"
M I K H A I L R U T H E R F O R D "I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF YOU ENDED UP SLAIN BY ONE OF THEM."
Their small party proceeded to enter the nearby castle, and Mikhail couldn't keep himself away from admiring its fine architecture. He had never had the time to really appreciate the castle's beauty and, of course, this was quite understandable. The pyromancer had been fighting every single time he had visited the world and, frankly, it would have been foolish to go and look around under those circumstances.
Fortunately, their quiet stroll wasn't interrupted by more Heartless attacks and they soon reached this "Royal Library". A pair of big, golden doors were pushed open and all three of them stepped into the warm, cozy room beyond. Mikhail's attention was immediately captured by the gigantic amount of books in the room, all kept in carefully organized shelves. How could someone read so much, anyway?
The man nodded, taking a seat in front of the nearby desk of wood as their host spoke. Their meeting was going quite well...
"Indeed, I was quite fortunate to meet him. He's quite a brave man, posessing extraordinary skills and talents. But yes, I should focus on the true reason behind this meeting. As your highness probably knows, darkness continues to roam around the universe, claiming as many hearts as possible. I'm afraid that this has gone too far, though."
"I've been gathering good-hearted warriors from all the corners of the universe to push back the darkness; champions of balance, determined to bring peace back to the universe. We currently oppose two ill-intended groups; there's the Organization XIII, formed by thirteen of the strongest nobodies, and the Dark XII, whose members are mainly Heartless posing as fellow humes. Though both organizations are known to oppose each other with frequently, I believe the Guardians of the Worlds are not strong enough to face both threats alone."
"It is time to choose a side and I beg you to help us in this campaign to bring back peace and harmony."

"Of-course I will be amongst your campaign of ever peace throughout the worlds, but I also find something troubling," Minnie paused for a moment not knowing how to phrase all of this for it won't sound too extreme even if it was. It felt wrong to put bad news on already known bad news.
"The Organization has been here and dead before. I'm afraid I have no idea how to keep them permanently at bay. I guess you can say persistence pays, so they are back to complete their unfinished business. They were stopped before by keyblade wielders including the King and two from Destiny Island," she paused looking up at his portrait, "He haven't been home for ages, and I thought it was to seek out other keyblade wielders for help, since they can efficiently finish the Heartless and Nobodies."
"With that said, I feel the most we can do is protect the worlds as much as possible for their hearts would be safe and neither orientation can enter the worlds. Even so that may not be enough," Minnie began explaining the Organization passed activities in how they used a Nobody that wieldered a keyblade and a wielder named Sora to destroy Heartless only to help them to build and construct Kingdom Hearts. That naturally formed a rift for Sora to save the worlds by purifying the heartless, which will in turn add the Organization. They claimed to be motivated by gaining hearts, but it seems they aren't entirely trustworthy. Then she reflected a year back to Ansem's activity in how he sought to reform the worlds in endless darkness, so he kidnapped the Princess of Hearts to unlock the final keyhole to Kingdom Hearts and how he wished to use its powers to fulfill his desire.
"I'm not saying all of this to frighten you, but enlighten. If what you speak is true, then you should know what you're opposing, so it seems the main solution is to cut them off from the worlds. This world once had an efficient defense mechanism, the Cornerstone of Light. Until this day, I don't know why, but its been removed from this world leaving it vunerable." She looked up at them seeing if they could connect the dots together in an efficient solution that seems plausible.
M I K H A I L R U T H E R F O R D "I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF YOU ENDED UP SLAIN BY ONE OF THEM."
Mikhail remained silent, trying to learn what he could from the Queen's tale. So he had been kind of right about the keyblade; it was quite a mighty weapon, able to destroy Heartless and unlock the hearts they kept captive. However he had been quite ignorant to the whole keyhole concept, and this was what really brought some hope to his heart. If the keyblade wielders could lock a world's heart from the Heartless, many lives could be saved. There was still time to save the universe and to keep worlds from suffering the same fate others, such as Elona, had suffered.
It was settled; he would have to pay Sora, Riku and Kairi a visit eventually, even though they had probably forgotten about him already. However, if King Mickey hadn't found them already they probably wouldn't be chilling around Destiny Islands anymore. Queen Minnie and the Guardians had to find a temporally solution to the problem and execute it as they searched for the keyblade wielders.
There was only one thing Mikhail could think of: light. They would have to find, or in the worst scenario create, something similar to this "Cornerstone of Light". However it would need to be quite bigger as they needed to protect more than one world. If only there was an everlasting source of light at their disposal....
"That's it!"
Eyes immediately lighting up, Mikhail was unable to hide the growing grin sported across his face. Why hadn't he thought of it before?! The Princesses of Heart! Their hearts were filled with pure light, light that could eventually be channeled to repel darkness. Finding these maidens and having them aid their cause would give them the upper hand... at least for now.
"We could go searching for the Princesses of Heart and seek their aid. Perhaps there is a way to amplify their light to protect several worlds from darkness... at least until we find the keyblade wielders. Though it is not a permanent solution, I believe we can keep the enemy at bay long enough to have the keyholes sealed."
"Do you know where can we find these maidens? Perhaps something that could make finding them easier?"

Minnie blinked at the idea as she began to think how much good would that do. The Queen never met the Princesses of Heart and no nothing of what they have been doing after being captured and such.
"Well the Princesses of Hearts would be in their own worlds naturally, and if they are easy to find, then who knows if the Heartless or Nobodies have gotten a hold of them already. I know together they can do wonders, but I doubt seperately they would be able to protect a single world like the Cornerstone. Even so, that would be putting their own worlds in danger as well by simply leaving it. But you should be cautious with that as well. Collecting all the Princess of Hearts is what Ansem had done the last time; bringing them together can backfire on you. Also having such strong hearts nearby can attract...unwanted attention."
If either party desire is to collect hearts, a heart of a princess of heart would be a wondrous bounty to add. The main reason Minne was uncertain was because to this could easily put seven individuals in jeopardy, and one is a keyblade wielder. Naturally heartless love to hunt down wielders, because the blade itself is a tracking device, which would lead them to a strong heart to devour. If the Princesses was to loose their hearts (even though they won't create a heartless) it can end to something far more worse. It has been done before, and it can be done again.
"I just fear that the cons may outweigh the pros. You wouldn't want to make moves that can fall neatly into enemies' hands."
M I K H A I L R U T H E R F O R D "I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF YOU ENDED UP SLAIN BY ONE OF THEM."
((If there's something that Minnie shouldn't know [and in consequence, Mikhail shouldn't either] just lemme know and I'll edit))
Mikhail's heart dropped as the Queen spoke, mentioning many of the plan's disadvantages. After all, she did have a point: the cons outweighted the pros. The maidens would probably offer their help willingly, yes, but it was still a quest to gather hearts. Both Ansem and Xemnas tried similar things and ultimately suffered the consequences. Hell, even DiZ perished in his attempt to destroy Xemnas's Kingdom Hearts and save the universe from its uncontrollable power; tempering with hearts was tampering with hearts.
And now that the Organization XIII and the Dark XII were plotting their own ways to try and take over the universe (again), no one would be able to predict their actions. Were Ansem and Xemnas willing to repeat the same mistakes again? The former had learned that Kingdom Hearts was light; it had destroyed him completely. His Nobody counterpart, on the other hand, succeeded on building his own Kingdom Hearts and claiming its power, only to find himself defeated and sent back to darkness by the Keyblade Wielders.
Still, Rutherford couldn't help but to wonder how they had found a way back. To some it wouldn't seem important anymore; after all, they were back, someone would need to face them eventually and there was nothing to be done about it. However, if a backdoor conveniently existed somewhere they would come back once again, and they would keep coming back until that loophole was closed.
And there was still the Princess of Heart situation. Minnie indeed spoke the truth; perhaps the Organization or the Dark XII were aiming to capture and use their hearts full of light. In that case they needed to be protected. Their absence wouldn't really turn their homeworlds into targets; four of them had apparently been claimed by the darkness in the past, even with their respective Princesses present. But of course, the search would take some time and even if Mikhail managed to get lucky and stumble across one in the next ten minutes he would only be able to do so much to protect them. Only until he and the rest of the Guardians managed to find a safe haven, they would be able to do something about the maidens.
"It seems like the only plausible solution in this case is light. But now the question is: where are we getting this source of light? Your Cornerstone has disappeared and using the Princesses is out of question..." He sighed, attempting to think of a good solution to the problem. Besides the Princesses of Heart idea nothing seemed to come to his mind. It seemed like they would be forced to wait and keep looking for this miracle of light but unfortunately there wasn't much time left.
"Do you have any ideas, Your Majesty?"

Minnie wondered as well, since she truly didn't want to use anyone's heart or a world's heart to be a defense,"what do we have around us that have light principles or can harness it? I can conduct light myself and so can the Princesses of Hearts. There light combined rejected the darkness; if samples of their lights are combined and harnessed without having to move anyone, there can be cornerstones everywhere. Our cornerstone worked fine until someone traveled into the past to taint it during its youth."
"Still I'm stumped in how to contain the light; perhaps a moogle can assist with that to make something to collect the lights within."
M I K H A I L R U T H E R F O R D "I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF YOU ENDED UP SLAIN BY ONE OF THEM."
"That's an option, I suppose." The Queen's idea could actually work; it would be like building a replacement for that Cornerstone of Light of hers. However, would the Moogles be able to build something so resistant to keep humongous amounts of light within? Sure Mikhail had heard wonders about their synthethizing abilities, but creating accessories and building such artifacts were two quite different things. "We will have to go and search for the materials they need then. Creating just one cornerstone will sure be a lot of trouble, but it shall all be worth it."
Now, the pyromancer couldn't help but wondering where he was supposed to go next. There were many options presented before him: Destiny Islands, the home of three of the keyblade wielders; Radiant Garden, the current residence of Merlin Ambrosious and a crowded hotspot for all kinds of people; Traverse Town, protege town of Jadis as well as the home for many Moogles and their shop.
"I'll come back here as soon as I have that cornerstone built. Afterward we shall be able to begin our light gathering quest."
