In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

Just as the title says, I will be taking an indefinite leave of absence from WD and the internet altogether. Some of you may have noticed that I have not been as active as I had once been; there are various reasons for this – chores, family drama, the “Will Wars,” everything that I have come to expect of “summer vacation” in the House of Lin, but mostly these absences are a result of computing issues.
For the last week my laptop has been, more or less, dead (of what, I do not know - it just died in the middle of me using Word @-@). I have yet to had the chance to bring it down to the help offices at my college, as my father is insistent that I do not bring it down until I have my driver’s license (which I know most certainly I will not be getting this weekend).
To squeeze lemon juice into the wound, my PC (that I like to call the “roadside PC” for a certain reason…), which I have not even used once since getting home from school, has decided to tell me this morning that its got some 1400 viral infections (and that number is not an exaggeration, my jaw literally dropped, and now I curse myself for letting little sister dearest use it when her computer crashed of a virus overload – I should have foreseen this). Google even told me that it couldn’t let me continue because all of the infections.
And my antivirus software? Well, it only scans, not removes. Daddy dearest doesn’t want to pay for that luxury. >>
A little bitter? Yes, quite. Very when it comes into consideration that the college will take months to fix a problem that quite possibly could take a few hours.
In short, I will be poofing on you all of an unknown amount of time. I rather wait for my laptop to be fixed than use my PC – which might be fixed sooner than the former – as I hate my PC with a passion (it’s very, very, very slow). While there are several other computers in the house that I “could” use, they are all password protected, of which I know none, and my siblings do not believe in sharing (my twin, most fortunately for the moment, is in the shower, so I’m Solid Snaking this. >>)
So off I poof.
And apologies for the rant. It was just something that had to get off my chest before it became too ugly. @-@
And in my midnight wanderings I stumble upon an on PC. Not really supposed to be on this thing, and not keen on doing something dentrimental to its functioning, I'm only cheeking in for the moment to see if anyone had any advice to offer. (And I just realized how grammarific that was, but I'm not gonna spend time and spell check - a quick on and off here.)
In regards to your suggestion, Nella, I do have AVG on my PC (something else on the laptop, but I'm going to let the school handle that. It was installed a year ago, just before I headed of to college. Problem is, due to the nature of my PC (I tell my father this often: it was put on the side of the road for a reason), AVG starts running and then just stops scanning, refusing to carry out any other functions regardless what I click. Also, while I was away at school, a second Anti-Virus program somehow got installed on my PC, so when AVG starts up, the second one starts up as well, making getting anything done on the machine a hassel. To pay testament to that statement, it took 30 minutes for me to reply to two activity checks. @-@ I see loading bars in my nightmares now.
It's gotten to the point where I think it's just the machine - a case of one man's trash not being another man's treasure. I think I'm just going to trash the darn thing (in secret so that my dad does not try to save it) and save up my money and buy myself a PC that's not as old as I am.
Besides, you've got your b-day coming up soon, that should maybe give you a PC... or some money at the least. Though, I do know how strapped you are for cash with your college tuition being so flipping high.
My laptop has been repaired -- for the time being as it is -- so web access shouldn't be a problem. The whole fiasco to get it fixed Monday was more stress then I needed it to be. @-@
But, yeah, Lin's now back (commence the people going "Awe man...").
