Name: Luistorg Mogfield
Nickname(optional): Luis
Organization XIII or Dark XII Nickname(optional): N/A
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Species: Moogle
Position: Neutral-Good, Defender of the downtrodden
Organization XIII or Dark XII Position: None
Power(s): Sheep Count – A skill that Luistorg picked up in his younger days as an animist. This lullaby puts those that hear it into a deep sleep. The enchanted slumber only lasts a few minutes and takes a few seconds to actually work, but it is well worth it to a small creature that wishes to avoid a confrontation.
Moogle Attack – With a great battle cry, Luistorg’s weapon is wreathed in bright flames and glows white hot as the young knight takes a powerful swing at his target. If this connects then the opponent may be forced back by the flames or the impact.
Moogle Rush – Luistorg’s blade is consumed by a purple haze and turns jet black as the tiny warrior takes a charging leap at his foe and lashes out with a very damaging, but very predictable and inaccurate attack.
Moogle Aid – This ability causes a gentle, cooling wind to swirl around Luistorg and mend some of his lesser wounds as well as alleviate him of any harmful foreign substances in his body (poison, something in his eye, etc). It won’t heal very big injuries or keep him from bleeding out because of them, but it can give Luis a vital second wind in a fight.
Weapon(s):Mog Sword – To humans and bangaa, this is a knife or dagger at best but to moogles it is fine sword indeed. Every one of the twelve inches of this steel blade has been sharpened to near perfection and the hilt is decorated with precious stones. Though the weapon is intended for slashing, stabbing and pummeling a foe with the pommel, it has often been used as silverware by larger races.
Mog Shield – What those foolish tall races call a serving plate, the clever and inventive moogles know to be a powerful shield. Made of wood, plated with steel and with two sturdy leather straps on the back, this is the signature defensive weapon of the Moogle Knights.
Winged boots – Though not a true weapon, the winged boots allow anyone that wears them to walk on liquids over short distances (about ten feet). This is very useful as Luis doesn’t know how to swim and is deathly afraid of deep water.
Picture(optional): Appearance: Luis is a moogle and because of this many people would simply describe him as “cute”. He stands at about two feet and seven inches tall if you don’t include his long ears (making him three feet tall) or pom pom (making him three and a half feet tall). His whole body is covered in soft, white fur except for tips of his ears (which are black), his pom pom (red) and his small, bat-like wings (red) which oddly enough don’t allow him to fly. Long whiskers grow from either side directly under his small nose not unlike a cat and his head seems disproportionately large to his tiny body.
He wears a purple coat that has large white cuffs and a long, white color that covers his neck. His small hands are adorned with fingerless leather gloves and his feet with grey boots that feature small wing patterns on the side. On his hip, he carries a sheath for his blade.
Personality: Luistorg is a curious young moogle and has often been described as inquisitive. He seeks not only to know “What?” but also “Why” or “How?” and there are those that view his constant questions as somewhat annoying. As curious as he is, Luis knows better than to pester people too much.
Other than simply being full of questions, Liustorg also seeks to provide answers to certain problems and/or perceived injustices. Unfortunately he isn’t very patient and most of his solutions are legally questionable. While he usually tries to avoid a fight, if it is the fastest/only way to resolve a problem than Luis will not hesitate to draw his sword.
During battle, Luis is brave but reckless. His youth and inexperience sometimes get the better of him and he makes mistakes that more seasoned or level-headed warriors wouldn’t. If he doesn’t feel like he’ll be able to defeat his opponent, Luis will at least try to defend his allies and innocent bystanders.
Overall, Luistorg Mogfield has a well developed sense of right and wrong, but sometimes allows his emotions to cloud his judgment. His inquisitive nature is either cute and charming or annoying and childish depending on whom you ask. Luis is insightful and likes finding solutions to problems and injustices, but his lack of patience makes his solutions somewhat rash.
Original World: Ivalice (ffta2)
Current Residing World: Wonderland
History/Background:Luistorg comes from the city of Goug in Ivalice. He was born to small family of merchants and since his boyhood has had great love of music. All was going quite well for Luistorg’s family and he really couldn’t complain about anything except that he wanted to explore the world. When he was a teenager, his parents gave him some money and sent him on his way to join an adventuring clan so that he could live his fantasy and travel the world.
After a little over a year of traveling, Luistorg received a disturbing message from home. He left the guild and rushed back to Goug only to see that the message he got was true and that a band of raiders had attacked his home city and killed nearly all its defenders. Unfortunately, Luistorg’s father had enlisted to defend his home and met that most horrible end.
Luistorg put away his old animist gear away and picked up the noble weaponry of a moogle knight that day, vowing revenge against those that hurt his family. Journeying into the desert he located their lair and with the help of a local clan snuck into their camp at night. After a gruesome battle they emerged victorious, but Luis found no satisfaction in revenge.
He promised himself not to let what happened to his home happen to others and set forth once again into the world to right the many wrongs he would come across. This decision would lead him into direct confrontation with a wicked mage that was trying to summon something into Ivalice. Something called “Heartless”
After defeating the mad mage, Luis looked at his notes and, after reading parts of them out loud, was transported through Gummi Space and wound up in Wonderland. Now he seeks to return home while righting as many wrongs as he can along the way. He’s a moogle on mission and determined to succeed.
Role Playing Sample: Luistorg stumbled through a shadowy forest. He was in a strange new place that was still somewhat familiar to him. Something about the way the wind howled through the trees reminded him of his adventures in the Targ Woods back in Ivalice. He found the familiarity comforting, though nothing else about the forest was from its thick canopy to the odd noises he followed as they echoed from deep with the foliage.
Soon, the moogle came to a sizable hole in the ground. Keeping true to his inquisitive nature, he looked in and tried to see what was dwelling there. Unfortunately, he leaned too far and found himself plummeting down the hole and growing ever closer to the strange noises he had been hearing. He hit the floor of the hole with a soft thump.
The young knight rose to his feet, mysteriously unharmed, and looked up. The walls looked too steep and smooth to climb out of this place and he rubbed his head in thought. It was then that he realized he was not standing on the dirt floor he expected to be at the bottom of the hole, rather it was a checkered tile floor. Looking in all directions, he found that there was a path that led to a door.
“Well,” the moogle commented as he approached the portal, “That’s interesting.” Grabbing the doorknob, he suddenly heard a tremendous crash and a purple and black creature wearing armor barreled through the doorway and knocked the moogle off his feet.
“Ouch!” Luistorg exclaimed, “Hey, what was…” the knight looked and saw the strange creature that had run him over looking back at him. “…it that spawned you?” he finished his question. The creature didn’t answer; it only squared its feet charged toward the little warrior!
Quickly rising to a fighting stance, Luistorg drew his blade and raised his guard. The monster swung its arm hard down upon its prey only for the blow to be deflected by its shield. Luistorg saw an opportunity, pulled back his sword and thrust it forward with more strength than the monster thought existed in his little body. The blade sank deep into the mysterious being’s belly and in a shower of sparks, the creature disappeared.
“What was that thing?” Luistorg pondered allowed, sheathing his weapon. He turned back to the door and walked through. As he crossed the threshold the only conclusion he could come to was, “I’m definitely not in Goug anymore.”
Questions/Comments/Suggestions?Yeah, the sample was a bit long. I know. Luis is a bit more of a reactive character than a proactive one, so I had to give him something to react to. How am I doing so far?
