In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

Okay, here's the jist. I made a semi-freeform Kingdom Hearts game a while back and even went and developed a whole system for it. It originally had a Destati Dream Sequence you had to go through, which served as both Character Creation and as your RP test, though I think instead I'll just list the various choices available to you, you pick them out, and I tell you what class you got.
Yes, class. I was pretty strict in this one - your characters would have an appearance chosen by you, but they had to strictly follow one of the final fantasy classes, which was determined by the choices in the dream. Class wasn't the only thing chosen, either. Both your starting point and special abilities were determined by these choices.
As such, make your decisions, and I'll post what'cha got.
Gender - determines... well, gender...
Male
Female
Alignment - determines subclass
Light
Darkness
Twilight
Nothingness
Affinity - determines starting point (doesn't have to be hometown, though)
Fire
Water
Earth
Air
Focus - determines class type
Physical
Balanced
Mystical
Specialization - determines class
Attack (at cost of Defense)
Defense (at cost of Skill)
Skill (at cost of Attack)
Balance
Classes and Subclasses will be explained in the replies.
Destati*? You mean the Station of Awakening tutorials? Interesting. I kind of wish the site here would implement that in the RP Academy. It would be a neat twist to learning the mechanics and fundamentals of the site.
Indeed, that's EXACTLY what I meant. Each thing is chosen in sequence:
Gender before it begins You are surrounded by all sides. What is it you see? (Choice of: Blinding Light, Shrouding Darkness, Evening's Sunset, Endless Void) You are falling, but it's slow and not dangerous. There is a platform below you. What color is it? (Choice of: Red, Blue, Yellow, Green) What is your focus? (Choice of Sword, Staff, and Scales) What is your specialization? (Choice of Sword, Shield, Daggers, or Scales)
Of course, it's much more descriptive than that, but that's the general gist. Afterwards, they have their combat RP test. If they don't keep the rules and restrictions in mind, they fail and are told not to come back.
I do not tolerate godmodding, after all.
By the way, I call it the 'Desati Dream Sequence' because of the music that plays in them, and the fact that, well, it IS a dream of sorts... The location may be the Station of Awakening, but the actual Event would be called a 'Desati Dream Sequence' as far as I'm concerned.
Your journey begins at midnight in Radiant Garden. You believe in fighting fire with fire, but beware, as that fire may consume you. As you embark on your journey, you can feel a sense of overwhelming warmth aiding you. Your journey will be a difficult one, so don't try to fight it alone, as this is a time when even Light must come to your aid if the worlds are to survive...
Gender: Male Class: Gladiator Subclass: Dark Knight
Gladiators utilize both Magic and the Sword. Their trademark ability is to apply spells to their blade and strike with power. Statistically speaking, on a scale of one to ten:
,-----------------------------------------. | HP .| MP .| STR | VIT | MAG | SPI | AGL | |-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----| | .7 .| .6 .| .7 .| .3 .| .7 .| .3 .| .7 .| `-----------------------------------------' HP = Health Points MP = Magic Points STR = Physical Attack Strength VIT = Physical Defense MAG = Magical Attack Power SPI = Magical Defense AGL = Speed/Rate of Movement
Examples: Gladiator Class (FFTA, FFTA2)
Dark Knights are those whom choose to embrace the darkness, and use it as a weapon against their foes. As they grow stronger in the darkness, they are able to utilize more Darkness Skills unique to this class. They are not necessarily evil, though they must be wary that their darkness not consume them, or else they may become a heartless themselves...
But what if you want, say, a chaotic good character, with an alignment to life? Or some other off the wall character, like my crazy summoner?
And where do technomancers fit in? People who use tech instead of magic or muscles? Or are you just keeping it restrained to the few classes that you created?
@locue: Wrong alignment. In this game, that alignment helps determine your subclass. The Good/Evil/Lawful/Chaotic alignment stuff still kind of applies, though in my games I've stopped trusting people to apply as villains and then NOT leave. Nothing sucks worse than having the main villain suddenly disappear in an important part of the game, thus killing it, simply because the player got tired of the game. Also, there IS an alignment that'll give you the Summoner sub-class. And as traditional sense of alignment is separate, you definitely can pull your character off. My thief, after all, was Chaotic Neutral with good tendencies.
@avalon: Okay, here we go.
Your journey begins in midday in Twilight Town. You believe in the strength of your own heart, but beware, as just your heart alone won't be enough. As you embark on your journey, you can feel the wind flowing around you, as if giving you its blessing. Your journey is a difficult one, so don't think you can do it alone. Unless you can set aside your differences with the darkness and fight side by side, all may be lost...
Gender: Male Class: Paladin Sub-Class: Keyblade Bearer.
Paladins utilize both healing powers and the way of the sword. They are known for defending those in danger, sacrificing their own safety in order to protect an ally, as well as their competency with their swords. Statistically speaking, on a scale of 1 to 10:
,-----------------------------------------. | HP .| MP .| STR | VIT | MAG | SPI | AGL | |-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----| | .8 .| .5 .| .5 .| .7 .| .5 .| .7 .| .3 .| `-----------------------------------------' HP = Health Points MP = Magic Points STR = Physical Attack Strength VIT = Physical Defense MAG = Magical Attack Power SPI = Magical Defense AGL = Speed/Rate of Movement Examples include Frimelda (FFTA2), Paladin Class (FFTA/FFTA2)
Keyblade Bearers are capable of utilizing the legendary keyblade. Depending on their class, the Keyblade will take a form suitable to them. in the case of a Paladin, this is a Knightsword, along with a Shield. Keyblade Bearers are able to pull of attacks that are unique to them, such as the Ragnarok and Ars Arcanum. They can't get too overconfident, though, as a Keyblade Bearer alone cannot handle everything on their own - even Sora had friends to back him up.
Examples: Sora
Oh, just to let y'all know, in campaigns that take place in the realm of darkness, the position of Keyblade Bearer and Dark Knight (called White Knight in the Dark Realm) are reversed, as the roles of light and darkness are reversed.
@sephiroth: I kindly explain to them that there are FOUR elemental crystals, corresponding to the four elemental crystals the plot revolved around in the first five final fantasy games. It determined a few things, such as your starting location and what element your Trinity Limit would be with your group (unless multiple elements were present, which would have been Light elemental had the plot ever progressed far enough to where they were able to inter-mingle and... well, LEARN trinity limit...)
@klaus: I'm so sorry I'm late! I didn't even realize someone had posted in my topic! Blame Suikoden, I've been playing it nonstop the last few days... Needless to say I can't wait until next month. Anywho, here we go:
Your journey begins at dusk in Twilight Town. You believe in the strength of your friends, and will call upon their aid when needed. As you embark on your journey, you can feel the wind flowing around you, as if giving you its blessing. As you progress in your journey, don't forget to keep your old friends close as you gain new ones. You will find that it is the strength of that long-lasting bond that keeps the darkness from breaking through to you.
Gender: Male Class: Templar Subclass: Summoner
Templars utilize both indirect magic and the spear. They are quick on their feet and are able to cast a wide variety of spells, such as Magnet, Haste, and Gravity. Statistically speaking, on a scale of one to ten:
,-----------------------------------------. | HP .| MP .| STR | VIT | MAG | SPI | AGL | |-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----| | .5 .| .7 .| .4 .| .6 .| .4 .| .6 .| .8 .| `-----------------------------------------' HP = Health Points MP = Magic Points STR = Physical Attack Strength VIT = Physical Defense MAG = Magical Attack Power SPI = Magical Defense AGL = Speed/Rate of Movement
Examples: Templar Class (FFTA, FFTA2)
Summoners utilize summon charms to call upon the strength of an additional ally in battle. Unlike the other three subclasses, they can call upon more than just story summons (i.e. Dumbo, Bambi), but through many other summon charms that only they can use, such as the Corsage of Corruption, or the Diamond Dust Charm, they can call upon many other summons such as Mateus and Shiva. These summons will arrive temporarily on the battlefield as an additional ally, until canceled by the caster or time runs out.
