In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Hey all! As I've noticed a bit of a build-up in profiles nowadays, I thought I might post a few tips from an admin's point of view as to how to get your profile accepted quickly and relatively painlessly.
1) Don't make an OC. Staff members are much more likely to look at a profile if they are excited about the person being there, and the name is the first place they're going to look. Who would be more exciting to you: a character you know and love from another source, or a character you know bupkis about.
All other tips are for OCs. Really, if you make a non-OC character, it'll be accepted remarkably quicker.
2) Make their powers reasonable for their age. There's a common issue with OCs, in that every one of them wants to be a teenager with insane (usually destructive) powers. I call this Riku Syndrome. The greater the power to age ratio, the less likely it is to be accepted. As a general rule, anyone with a mid-level spell like Fira should probably be in their twenties. A good way to have a teenager with powers is to take one from a canon source, but I already covered that.
3) Try to keep angst to a minimum. I call this Cloud Syndrome. Yes, angst adds character depth. But here's a rule I'll refer to later:
The Ground Zero Rule: RPGs are based around Interaction, not Reaction. Make a character that other people will enjoy being around.
If an admin says to themselves 'Hey, this guy has a good attitude and can probably really add to the site', they're more likely to let a few other details slide.
4) Spelling and Grammar. Dear LORD spelling and grammar. Incorrect spelling, punctuation, and paragraph usage is one of the quickest ways to get a profile not dealt with.
5) Give them a canon background. Ok, so you have your OC, and he's looking pretty suave, but you need backstory. Try taking one from an old source. Note: NOT Radiant Garden. A character who comes in like Luke Skywalker with their own plot raring to go, trying to kill the six-fingered man?
That's back to The Ground Zero Rule. People want to play the plot of the site and their own plots WAY more than the plots of individual OCs. So try taking a character from London or Agrabah. Plenty of depth and drive, but doesn't detract from the site.
I'm going to put this another way. I'm going to be a game designer, and I once got words of advice from a pro in the field. He told me this "The way to get in is NOT to tell people you have an idea for a game. Everyone has an idea for a game. The way is to help someone else with their idea, and eventually maybe they'll ask you if you have an idea of your own." That's what character plots should be like. Work on helping the plot of the site, and if your character has a chance to work out a personal plot later, then grab the chance.
I hope this helps people! Good luck, and happy playing!
Point of clarification.... (lol house of representatives xD)
if an admin tells you to make some changes and you make those changes within the given time how do you get it noticed that the character is up and ready because posting again doesn't help that much. How would a case like that be accepted
lol. dude, if you wait for a while, about a week or longer, just PM them. My character, Max, hadn't gotten looked at for 10 days, and I PMed them, and within a couple of hours, he was accpeted. *shrug* you've gotta show a little initiative. lol.
lol. well, not necessarily ten days. lol. I'd say wait about a week(staff, please correct me on this, though, if you think thats too short. I'm just giving my personal opinion), and if there's nothing, check with 'em and see what's goiing on. lol.
Seed is very correct on both counts. If it's been a few days and there's been no response, send a single PM asking them to look at it. If that still doesn't do it, PM a different mod.

Seed's right and the mods have lives also they tend to not be on here all the time. They'll get on when they have free time and when they do all that you can do for them is be ready

This kind of ties in with Tifa's rule 2, but this part needs to be reiterated.
DO NOT MAKE YOUR POTENTIAL TO DO DAMAGE INCREDIBLY HIGH.
Not everyone can be a hero. If you have a power on your profile that can form craters, scrap it. Find something else. And the whole "power usage drains life force!" cliché is just that: a cliché. Please, be creative with your downfalls.
Also, more things that annoy *{SOME}* mods. I put emphasis on *{SOME}* because not all mods are annoyed by these (these PROBABLY and MOST LIKELY won't prolong your waiting time, but we're starting to need a bit of variety.):
1) Japanese names. Sure, they're cool and all, but it's getting to a point where every other OC has a Japanese sounding name.
2) Teenaged characters. I am somewhat a contributor to the problem, but still, the worlds need more older people.
3) Various personality/appearance traits that are overused: As Tifa mentioned, angst. That, and death, sadism, and that one (see: 20) character(s) who will do anything for his/her/their friend(s). Also, black clothes, spiky hair.
4) Nobodies/heartless. Woah, woah woah. In the games, there were 13 nobodies who retained a humanlike appearance. In the games, there were no heartless like that. Through the plot, we added 12 humanlike heartless. That's still an incredibly small number. And yet we seem to be seeing humanlike heartless and nobodies by the bushel. It's not a problem yet, but next time, maybe try to something new like heartless/nobody sympathizers, the kind of people who aren't heartless/nobodies, but want to help them.
5) This falls into other categories already mentioned, but please, do not take every opportunity when chatting with other members to just throw in that you're still waiting on your character.
I'm not saying that the people with characters that fall under one or more of these categories should be scolded and slapped on the wrist, not at all, but uniqueness would be appreciated. I know most have at least one character like this, I myself and guilty of that, but I feel the need to reiterate: the term is original characters, so let's actually be original with them.
I agree with Kaze. Japanese names are running a little too high. I've never understood why people do that. In Kingdom Hearts there are barely any Japanese sounding names. Strange ones sure, but generic Japanese names.
As for the Heartless/Nobody problem...I don't see as a BIG problem now, but there should be a limit to them. With my character Seed I originally made him just as a character to mess around with. But now I'm glad I was able to make him into a plot device. Sure not it may be confusing but it helps the Dark XII move their own plot forward.
AS for older characters. YES! I would love to see some older characters running about. Even with Dark XII profiles, you CAN make them older them a lot older. Because we really have no idea how long they were wondering the darkness before Ansem found them. Plus, who knows how fast or slow Heartless/Nobodies age....

I'm not trying to sound like an asshole I'm just going to say some stuff. First, all original characters they used for Kingdom Hearts have a japanese sounding name. Sora is sky, Riku is ocean or something like that, and Kairi has some ground thing. Works the same way for the birth by sleep characters. You're right on the Heartless/Nobody thing though, it's not really a problem so we'll skip that.
And the reason we don't have older characters is that people want to play as a teenager because that's (hopefully) when they felt their best or what age they're at now. I'm also pretty sure Heartless/Nobodies don't age and if they do it'd have to be an extremely slow pace because my Heartless character is 136 (16 human, 120 heartless). Which brings me to my question, what if they were very old but didn't seem to be cause my character still looks 16.

Just to clear that up. And yeah your right..the ORIGINAL characters in the game. Not the Final Fantasy ones. Sure some have Japanese sounding names, but some are not really Japanese.
With the aging Heartless/Nobodies thing. Like I said, we don't know if they age or not, though it seems like Ansem and Xemnas appear to be pretty old. xD
lol. the older characters thing I agree on. Too many RPs have characters that are in their teens. lol. I try to keep my characters about my age(hence why Max is 20. lol. since Im' 19.), but, I do like to make older ones sometimes(I have a dragon waiting for approval right now that would be 124. lol.) And, I also have an idea for an old wizard-type character. lol. I"m thinking about making him a comic knock-off of Gandalf. lol. I'd name him Randolph if I decide to do that. : Plol.
