This is only for Original Characters.
First profile here? Listen up!If you haven’t posted in the
Arrivals board, please do so before you make a character.
I would really like to stress the fact that your very first character profile is your first and biggest impression on this site. It is
very important that you show us your best RP'ing skills and your understanding of the Kingdom Hearts universe. We are an intermediate to advanced roleplay and are looking for members with those skill levels.
On another note,
effort is a key ingredient to acceptance. Effort displays that roleplay ethic that moves threads along and creates engaging plots. We will always encourage going the extra distance to put as much thought and care into the creation of a character as you can. Think ahead of time about future growth, development, and relations with other characters that you may not need to include in this profile; all of these are vital to a good storyline, as well as the many that make up an RP site.
Be sure to meet the requirements of each section of the profile form below. Use complete sentences, spot for grammar and punctuation problems, and run thorough spell-checks before posting. Spaces between each paragraph are highly appreciated, and don't ridiculously resize or color the text. The staff read many, many of these profiles and would like them to be easy on their eyes.
Acceptance/RejectionOnce your profile is accepted, an
will be in the title and it will be moved to the Accepted Profiles board. If a profile is rejected, then you shall be notified in the thread, and it will be moved to the
Rejected Profiles board.
Common causes of rejection include not editing in the time allotted (without letting us know that you need more time), not following vital site rules, not quite meeting our roleplaying standards, or submitting a profile with a vital flaw/too many problems to fix. You will always be given reasoning for rejection, and unless you break a core site rule you will always be given a chance to post a new or redone profile.
Once your profile has been accepted, we ask that you put a link to it in your signature. A common code for this purpose is:
[url=insert link to profile here]Character Name[/url]
You may post an unfinished profile, but the letters “WIP” must be in the title or it will be reviewed and rejected. (WIP stands for work in progress.) All WIP threads will be given
one week to be finished and then moved to the Rejected board.
Looks a bit overwhelming? This may not be the RPG for you! Explore our link exchanges for a roleplay sites that accept different skill levels.

Name: Nickname:List any and all, feel free to describe usage/origin of nickname if you wish.
Age: Physical age and/or age they appear.
Do not create characters under the age of 10.
Gender: Male, female, no gender, n/a.
Species: Human, Heartless, Nobody, Animal, species of your own invention etc. Describe the characteristics of the race or species of your character in as much detail as you wish to put forth. If it's a species most people would not have heard of (or something of your own creation), please explain it.
Things you cannot create:- Angels / Demons
- Various degrees of animal humanoids. Girls with slapped-on cat ears with no evolutionary knowledge to back up the feline trait are not likely to get accepted. Anthromorphic races are much more appealing when described in a (concise!) manner that displays thought and effort.
- Canons with no Final Fantasy, Disney, or Disney-Pixar origin
Unsure if your character fits into one of these categories? Feel free to contact any staff member (their usernames are green) with questions. If you follow the rules chances are you are in the clear.
New 6/28 We normally don't permit humanoid heartless and nobodies, but we currently have an opening of 3 of each. Below are conditions of the crafting of these beings.
Humanoid Heartless: (Opening: 3)
+ They already need to have a susceptible amount of darkness in their hearts prior to become a heartless.
+ "Light-heartened" or even "weak-heartened" individuals would NOT make a humanoid heartless.
+ The nature of the character
will be Dark - a Heartless exemplifies all the negative attributes of their Somebody, after all.
Sora being a light aligned person, while also not having immense darkness in his heart only was able to become a shadow. Think of it as the strength of darkness in their hearts dictates how strong they would be as a heartless.
Humanoid Nobodies: (Opening: 2)
+ Nobodies generally have their memory intact the only exception is Roxas due to memory leakage to create Xion.
+ Conceptually, one needs a strong will to produce a Nobody period.
Position: Alignment - Good, Evil, Neutral? For information on the nine general classifications, see
here.Part of any organizations, groups, gangs, etc.?
Original characters cannot belong to the Dark XII or Organization XIII unless they have strict permission from either group leader or a staff member.
Powers/Abilities/Techniques/Skills: First and foremost. The magical capabilities of a character has no bearing on its worth. Staff love seeing the rare application of a character that can barely cast
aero, and yet has characterization and depth. If you still tend to lean towards the gamers' list of powers and spells, though, read on.
This section is notorious for requiring the most modifications in order to be acceptable. To most it is a balance between bestowing your character with cool abilities and keeping said abilities reasonable.
Give this area thought. Many things must be taken into account. Skill level should be in a believable relation to the age of the character, training, upbringing, body build, ect. The nature of the powers themselves should make sense with the species of the character, and the world they hail from.
We do not allow over-powered characters without a good reason. (This applies to individual traits, too, such as strength and speed, as well as overall power.) Too much power in any one area leads to god mode-ing and/or powerplay.
Edit: 5/23/13Give detailed descriptions of all of your characters powers, abilities, limit breaks, etc such as:
+ How do they work? Think of it's mechanics.
+ How long does it last/activated? Using a post count system is the most reliable. We do not use real-time, because it's easily manipulated amongst rpers making it inconsistent.
+ How long is it rest duration/cool done? Again try a post count system.
+ Thinking of Limitations, Drawbacks, and Consequences for your character can be more balanced.
If you have OOC (Out of Character) limits (for example, post durations or ‘only usable twice per thread’ rules), you
must also have IC (In Character) reasons (for example, the weapon of choice cannot shoot consecutively, or character will die of fatigue if he/she exerts too much energy).
The staff will be strict here, but please listen to their advice with good grace.
Weapons/Items:Optional. List and describe, within reason, any weapons or other artifacts your character may keep with them regularly. Keep in mind that individuals cannot carry too much on their person!
Be fair when choosing weapons. Describe the appearance, how the weapon is used in combat and any special abilities it possesses.
Weapons you cannot have:- Keyblades: unless you have been granted one or win one of our Keyblade contests, you
cannot start off with one. Please do not ask for one, either. The staff will award a member with them periodically as the site plot requires.
- Gunblades
- Basically weapons that are a CANON character's main.
Picture:Optional. Do not post pictures that stretch the forum. If your picture is large, then just post the link. Link code:
[url=PICTURE URL HERE]LINK TEXT[/url]
Picture code:
[img]PICTURE URL HERE[/img]
Appearance: This must be a
minimum of 100 words. Explain every detail about your character. Describe distinguishing features (such as piercings, tattoos, scars, etc.), describe the clothing they wear on a daily basis and if they ever change their wardrobe, include hair color, eye color, facial features, body type, height and weight, etc. Paint an image for us in words even if you provide a picture. You must describe your character in paragraph form;
do not use a list.
Please refrain from comparing your character to a canon as a reference, and be sure to use your own words.
Personality: This must be a
minimum of 175 words. Explain the method to your character’s madness.
Some questions to consider addressing:
What are your character’s motivations/objectives/desires? Fears/weaknesses/concerns?
What are their preferences, interests, quirks, hobbies, talents, secrets?
What type of person is he/she?
How does he/she work in a group, and/or react to hazardous situations or obstacles? (This shall occur enough times with Heartless and Nobodies running amuck.)
Keep in mind the character’s history, for that is the major influencer of who they are. If the Personality and History sections aren’t in sync, we may ask you to edit.
No lists.Original World: This is the world the character was born; their homeland. If you make a world up yourself rather than using one from the KH universe, make sure to describe it and its culture. Every world has its own traits.
Current World: This is the world the character currently resides in. It can be the same as the Original World so long as there is a board on this site for it.
History:This must be a
minimum of 400 words. Start from birth and go through key events in your character’s life. Describe relations. Explain the events in your character’s life that has made then who they are.
At the very least, these questions must be indirectly answered at some point in the History:
- Where was your character during Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep? Please be familiar with the KH timeline when answering this question. BBS takes place 10 years before KHI. World Destiny’s current timeline is 2 years after KHI (a year after KH II).
- Where is your character from?
- What are some relationships your character has already experienced? With family, authorities, friends, mentors, pets, lovers, ect.
- How was your character educated in the skills you listed in the abilities section? Self teaching can only go so far.
- Where was your character during both KHI and KHII?
- How did your character get from its Original World to its Current World, or possibly worlds in between?
Characters are not allowed gummi ships without good reason, due to the rarity and nature of their creation. Common causes of world transfer are worlds falling to darkness, leaving your character stranded in one of the KH hub worlds. The worlds work in strange ways, so creative methods (such as falling asleep in a cathedral, and waking in Traverse Town) are encouraged. You can also mention hitching a ride with someone –else’s- gummi ship. If you use a real canon or OC character, be sure to get their permission.
You cannot have these things in your history:- Canon Characters without the RPer's explicit permission.
- Unexplained Amnesia. If it's explained, fine. Just don't leave us guessing.
- Unexplained mysterious figures or voices with generous tendencies. You don't have the Organization XIII in your bedroom closet giving you magic swords.
- Manifestations of deities apart from those of Olympus. (It's fine to worship other deities, but these cannot leave the world to which they are bound.)
Role Playing Sample: This section is optional if you have had a character accepted before. (Not optional for first characters or canon characters!) It must be a
minimum of 350 words.
Show us a sample of you role playing
using your character, in a KH world or their original world. Express your character to the best of your ability; this is your time to shine. Remember to:
- Write in paragraph style, as if writing a novel, and
- Write in 3rd person.
Think of World Destiny as a book with many authors.
This is an intermediate to advanced forum, so if your sample doesn’t quite reach our standards, you will have the choice of not being allowed to roleplay or to take part in the RP Academy. There a staff member will teach you the basics of roleplaying and, with a bit of effort, may be able to help get your skills up to par.
If stumped, here are some possible ideas for the sample post. Feel free to use these, combine these, or not bother with them as you wish.
- Your character's Awakening.
- First post in their new world.
- An event in their life (depicting where they were during the destruction of their original world is a common one).
- A dream.
