Unique Features: The Punk is a strange ARI indeed, with a skeletal head, huge gorilla-like arms, and fins on its back. It also has a decorative cod piece. Its color scheme is purple and grey. It has a cloth hood on its head. It is muscular in appearance, though this is purely ascetic. It logic and intelligence unit is contained in a small mechanical snake near the base of its head. It has a tendency to wear a large purple cloak, so as to attract less attention on new worlds.
Personality:Ever since the punk was created, it was recognized as a mold breaker. Literally in this case, as it destroyed the machinery used to create it, and stole the fabrication plans to “remove competition.” This is typically of its thinking, which is combative and slightly evil. It has no concept of honor, but it ironically also has no concept of lying. It will keep information secret for an eternity, but it will not hesitate to admit to possession of secrets. It simply will not say anything unless asked, and perhaps not even then. It is destructive and mercantile in its actions acting only to profit itself. It has no friends, but many allies and many more enemies. It is searching for something, but no one knows what. I’m not sure even he knows what. All he says is that “I’ll know it when I see it.” His reason for searching? “Everything needs a purpose.”
Original World: ARI Construction Satellite
Current Residing World: Radient Garden
History/Background: Punk’s creation was meant to be a grand moment for the ARI construction business. Designed for war and given a high degree of intelligence, Punk was also discovered to have a small design flaw. He had very basic emotion, and a sense of self. This lead him to almost immediately destroy any possible way to make more than one, and to steal his fabrication plans, and destroy the plans for the assembly line, so it could not be rebuilt. Normally, this kind of behavior would immediately qualify an ARI for scrapping, but his creators decided to keep him, and try him out on the field of war. It was there that he made his first kill, and took the skull of his enemy to use as his head. Again, this was erratic behavior, and should have been a ginormous red flag for his makers. But they loved it. Once again the sent him to war. This time, he did not return. He did not like being used, though he liked fighting. He also did not like his current design. He slipped into the underworld and vanished for a year. When he resurfaced, he did so as the Punk. His weapons are his own design, and he keeps a small armory of replacements in his ship, which is also his own design. He has at least two back-up bodies on his ship as well. He has wandered the galaxy for the past three decades, participating in wars, and generally making a nuisance of himself. He has recently come to Radiant Garden, searching for something. What that is, no one knows.
Role Playing Sample:The Punk sat in the cockpit of his cramped ship, running the scanners across the world beneath him. He had seen some strange planets before, but the only way he could explain what he was seeing was that he had flown through a tear in the STC (Space-Time Continuum). It appeared to be a large… clock tower, with a sprawling town around it. His scanners pinged and listed the number of life forms found: 2.4 million. Physically impossible, but so was the world in front of him. He had learned to never accept the impossible, because he had seen more strange things in his life than most people could see in 10 lifetimes. One of the monitors began flashing, and he looked at in closely. It pinpointed multiple teleportation units that could be used by his ship. He tapped a key, and moved into the small hangar near the rear of his ship. He entered his pass code, and the ship recorded his body signature. There was a flash, and the Punk was sent to the world below.
The punk turned his optics back on, and examined the small area he had ended up in. It was a little room, with a couch, a dart board, and other unimportant little things. The doorway was covered with a single cloth, which he slid to one side. He aimed a solar sensor at the sun, to get the exact time. Then he got an error. The sun… wasn’t moving?
“What the hell?” He ran a quick diagnostic on the sensor. The diagnostic told him it was functioning perfectly. He then ran a diagnostic on his diagnostic program, which told itself it was working perfectly. So, if it wasn’t his gear, it really was the sun. “Interesting. A sun that doesn’t move.” This world should be burnt to a cinder, yet… It is not. “Calculating………………
Calculated. This world survives by magic. Good. My weapons will work better here.” Of course, the first thing he thought of was his weapons. The second thing was that clock tower. He wanted to see that, this structure that was featured so prominently on the world from orbit. The third thing he thought about was to wonder if there were any good fights to be had here…
