In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

A violent tremor shook Maya's body as she felt her staff be pulled away, then she almost lost control of herself when the other viera's claws wrapped around her. Mentally, she tugged at her sanity, barely holding on. But then she found something within herself, something familiar...
The Wood. As she plunged her whole being into it, and felt the Mist dissipate. Her vision cleared, and she nearly collapsed, breathing heavily.
"Damn Mist." she spat out, shakily getting to her feet. The earth around her settled, and she took a deep breath as earth tones rose. That sweet scent completd her calming, and she looked the other viera in the eye.
Ienzo was taken aback. What? She couldn't control it? Damn... What the hell kind of power was that? Was it even her own? His silver eyes sharpened on them. The Dark XII would like this information. A natural resource that amplified power at loss of control. Some form of magic berserk.
No, he thought. He wasn't going to give that knowledge to Ansem. Wherever this Mist was, it was on her World. It was gone. And he would make sure it never came about again. He ran over to her, pushing his raven hair out of his eyes.
"Hey," he said, moving closer. From past experience, it was safer to let them vent that power. But hers didn't seem to vent. "Are you alright? He turned to Coffee, his gaze severe. "Does it not vent? What kind of magic is that?"

Feeling her weight increase in her hands, Coffee redistrubuted her by shift her hands to hold her up. She had let go of her arms to hold her upper body finding it safer to leave her claws free. Luckily she had awakened from it, and her claws ceased its black tint and returned to its normal painted shade of green. This runt was messed up to a degree, which had altered the other viera's mood.
Hearing the question, she hummed for a moment, "You got a lucky break. You must have hit a mother load before coming here."
Her eyes glanced at Ienzo. It seems towards heartless she had the same stand-offish interaction as typical vieras to humes, "It's none of your concern...unless you get in the way."
"Can you stand on your own runt?" The viera questioned as her foot went after her fallen staff.
As she left the support of the other viera, she stumbled a bit, then picked up her staff and leaned on it. Looking to the man, she said, "I appreciate your concern, even if she doesn't." A small chuckle escaped from her, and she looked at the elder viera. "When I hit the Mist, there was so much that I couldn't see a foot in front of me. I guess...I brought some back with me." With a few breaths, she managed to stand with very little support on her staff, and flicked her ears a few times in response to the scent left over from the mist.
"Well, if this isn't Ivalice, then where am I" she finally asked, curious.
Ienzo realized what Mist was almost immediately. He had only an abstract idea before, an inkling of its effect and ability. Mist must have been some form of raw magic. In the Worlds, magic was created from the mind of an individual, but it was often related to what humans called 'willpower'. While this term wasn't perfect, it was similar and nature and got the point across.
This Mist was literally the rawest form of magic, able to adapt and expand any branch of the magical arts. That had to be it. And if that was it, it was incredibly dangerous. One small spell could be a catastrophe... If things had turned out differently, he could have died. Ienzo looked between the two. Ivalice, huh? That was definitely the World Note had talked about.
"This is Traverse Town, where all the survivors eventually come to." Eventually meaning that Ivalice had been destroyed a while back, and this girl had floated through the Lanes Between for quite a while. The Darkness itself often creates sensations of confusion in timelength, and this girl had to be an example of its work. "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Ivalice is probably gone."

Seeing that she was standing on her own two feet Coffee wondered if she should leave to her own dispense or not. Still she rather give the kit a stable ground of things before pushing her off the nest. Then again who know how stable this kit is, she was trusting a heartless, something that acts heartlessly, because he's so kind. The thought made her snort in disdain.
"You should rest it off. Your nose isn't even acute to the mist present now, so there's still some mist in you. I would say that isn't the last of it, since things like him brings more. Such thing probably over took Ivalce and devoured it whole. I would continue hunting the thing, but you don't need more expolsure to mist."
She slung her halberd across her shoulders, "You had enough for one night."
Looking from the older viera to the man, her ears started to twitch. The man had been kind enough to help her, but the viera obviously wanted to help her too...she knew who she had to trust, and stepped towards Coffee. Looking at Ienzo, she gave him a small smile and mouthed the words "Thank you" before turning to Coffee.
"This may seem like a bit much, but is there a place I can stay? I really don't feel like sleeping in the street."
Ienzo watched the two walk away, talking. He saw the smile the girl had given him and gave an acute wave before turning away. Thoughts ran through his mind, most of them focused on the empty feeling in his chest. The smile he wore on his face was merely a mask worn to hide the lack of feeling within him. Heartless... They weren't heartless at all. They had a heart, engulfed in Darkness, and as much as Ienzo tried, good deeds would not bestow the feeling known as 'happiness' upon him. Instead, they only deepened him in sadness as he realized what he was lacking. The Heartless walked towards a nearby alleyway, his mind turning like ocean waves as he thought of a way to regain what he had lost.
He had done many good deeds, hoping to find contentment in the vision of the Light, but the only time he ever felt at peace was when he was planting a garden with Note, or drinking tea in the Frosted Flame. When he had talked to Tifa...
The silver eyes disappeared beneath dark hair as Ienzo held his chest, his expression and demeanor hidden from the girl he had helped previously. Times like these... I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle. Or perhaps I'm trying to move a mountain. The Heartless felt the shadows rise and his "body" fell into its natural form. #6 disappeared from the district of Traverse Town, onto a new destination in the path to recover what he had lost.

The elder viera hummed to herself as she gazed at the kit. What had became of her just now? Looking at her too long made her head soar as the crooked ears straightened in her view and the long white hair became braided. At that the viera looked away. Her head nodded onward, "Follow me."
Her heels clicked against the cobblestone, and her ears were keen to hear when the heartless had left them alone, about time. She wasn't weary of it, but she didn't like nosiness, especially when one wasn't wanted or needed. The huntress was used to walking in silence, but she had the desire to break this one, because she had new company. Also there was a question she had, "Why did you chose to come with me? You seemed so adament that he was friendly...trustworthy. What made up your mind runt?"
With a shy wave to Ienzo, Maya folllowed Coffee, her ears flicking back and forth shyly. As she turned away from the man--if man he was--she heard Coffee's question and shyly looked away. "Well, I guess that I had to...you are my elder." She glared at the ground as she walked, poking her fingers together.
Finally, she looked up and said, "But, the question is...how do I trust you?"

A brow arched at the question, quite peculiar and yet an interesting one, "You tell me runt, because you're doing it now. Another question 'have I done anything to make you question yourself?, do you feel the least comfortable around me to begin trusting me?' I guess by those is how you judge your trust."
She wonders why she trust her as well. After all Coffee is legitally no viera. The woods do not touch her as it touches Maya.
"Regardless...you are not alone if that puts you at ease. There are others...of us you can say," she wasn't going to take the kit to the gummiship where Creme dwelled. She rather not test a viera's territorial sense of nature also that viera had to focus on patching up the ship versus wondering how to disect their company. Then again Coffee wondered of Creme's reaction, since she never seen her interact with another viera excluding herself.
"Tonight we'll be in the hotel. You can sleep off the mist."
A blank stare was all that Maya gave Coffee as she mentioned something called a "hotel". Obviously something hume, but she had never heard of it. Never the less, she looked to Coffee and nodded, still walking. After another short period, she sighed and said, "I guess I can trust you because you tried to protect me from whatever the man was. Even though he seemed harmless...and I need someone to watch over me...since I'm still young."
Even though she had been on her own for some time, she still felt she needed a sort fo protecter, to teach her of this world.

Hearing the confession, Coffee's head snapped and whipped to gaze at the kit intensely with dark marroon eyes trying to read the kit. From her voice and tone, she knew she could take her seriously, and the worlds had calmed her to this odd stasis. Generally Coffee wasn't this warm or inviting to others except Creme, another viera, and here she was picking up a kit, a kit who needed a guardian.
Normally for foolishness, she would beat or whack a whelp to take it back, but it seemed Maya's confession was like a silent whimper. She could feel the kit had been through something, but had no idea of the details. In a sense, she could relate and normally Coffee wouldn't like that, but at the moment, she was calm. Deciding that the kit had enough, she relieved her of her intense gaze, "That's quite bold and mature to acknowledge that especially for one so young."
With a few more strolls, they were in the courtyard; the viera's ears continue to turn listening out for HEartless; ever since the other heartless appeared, she couldn't sense any of them, this made her uncertain. In the meantime, she would try to get to no more about the kit,"It's right up there. So where from Ivalice are you from?"
"Honestly, I don't belong to any specific area of Ivalice." said the girl, looking forward instead of at Coffee. "I drifted throughout the world most of my days. Eventually I went back with the other viera, but it wasn't great." With a sigh, she looked at the hotel and yawned, rubbing her eye.
"Guess it's time for sleep here. Where exactly will I sleep?"

"...In a room," Coffee replied a matter a factly as if it was obvious. Croutching down, she jumped her way towards the hotel. It was so much quicker than just walking especially if the kit was that drained, "come along."
Her palmed pushed the door open going through expecting her to closely follow. With a drop of munny and a grab of a key, Coffee was heading to the green room without much words with the service at the front desk. "You can stay hear for the night."
The locked clicked, and the door swung open. Coffee didn't pay much attention to the room as she strolled passed the green and gold comforter that covered the plump bed, the dark mahagony dresses, and headed straight for the balcony, "I won't be far."
