In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Mordecai had heard the warnings about the dangers of the other districts, but he didn't really care. He had just lost his world and, by extension, everything he ever knew or cared about. He donned his armor and, drawing his broadswords, stepped through the doors to the second district. The large amount of anger and hate in his heart quickly drew out several heartless, mostly shadows, though. He fluidly moved his swords and, with a yell, eliminated them. But, as quickly as he had finished them, more appeared, some more powerful. This carried on for quite a while, with Mordecai yelling at the heartless, regardless of whether they understood or not. "My only purpose in life was to kill the greatest warriors of my world. It was the only way to regain everything I had lost! Then, you had to take away what I had left! What am I supposed to do now?" he yelled as he attacked some more.
He was getting a little tired, but his adrenaline was keeping him going strong. In his mind, he was trying to figure out what Althea or Marcello would be telling him to do, what they would be saying. By then, tears wear streaming down his face and he continued to scream as he attacked more and more heartless, as more continued to appear.
Tallìe observed the young man from her perch in a tree. She had been waiting for something interesting to happen. She was in the Second District alone at the time, because her friends were preoccupied by the market. Long claw-like fingertips digging into the bark, she dropped out of the tree, landing not far from the other teen. She giggled, looking at one of the unrelenting Heartless in the eye, before jumping back as she lured the Shadow into Mordecai’s flailing blades. Still wearing a silly, out of place grin, she called over the sound of ringing iron blades, “Seems like you can’t handle this much longer, mind some help?”
Obviously, she wasn’t fit for fighting, her claws being next to useless. However, she was still able to use her magic. She was hesitant, and instead lured more Heartless into the way of Mordecai’s blades. She would have talked more, but with the state the other persons heart was in, it would be useless to try and hold a conversation anywhere in the Second District until he calmed down.
Pausing as her legs grew tired, she glanced up at the tree she was previously perched in. Turning, she decided that the guy would be able to hold out on his own for a couple moments longer. Tallìe jumped up, grabbing a branch as a hold and swinging her feet to hold onto the branch as well. Crawling to a sitting position on the branch, she watched for a moment.
Tilting her head and crossing her arms, she threw off her balance, hugging her legs to the tree and hanging upside down. Head bobbing in front of Mordecai’s for a moment, Tallìe gave off another silly grin. It was reasonably stupid to be so happy at such a time, but she seemed unphased. Again, Tallìe pulled herself to the top of the tree branch again.
She cried a muddled chain of words, a bright blue sphere of energy disintegrating many of the Heartless attacking in the vicinity. Those who managed to be outside of the blast radius stumbled to a stop for a few precious moments, before attacking again. Growling in distaste, she glared at the guy, “Smile… the Heartless are more likely to go away. And I am not planning wasting another spell like that."
Being that the Second District was her dwelling place, Antique had been disturbed from her cup of hot cocoa in the lobby of the hotel. Setting the cup down on the coffee table before her, and laying a little bit of munny, Antique grabbed her claymore, and ran outside.
The Heartless out here were swarming!
Normally they popped up here and there, and could be little more than pests, but for them to swarm here like they did in the Third District...was indeed a bit strange. From her vertically challenged point of view, she spotted two human forms--who seemed to be fighting off the Heartless. Unsheathing Clarent, the red-haired girl ran right into the swarm, knocking Heartless to the side like one would do if they were hitting a golf ball. Sure, that was not nearly enough to get rid of them...
The one boy she saw in the middle was shouting out in frustration.
"H-hey! Are you okay?" she said, taking to his side as she swatted away more shadows.
Mordecai hardly noticed the redhead that came over to help him fight the heartless until she talked to him. "H-hey! Are you okay?"
He looked over at her and immediately got distracted. He dropped his guard for a second and a Large Body knocked him to the ground. His broadswords escaped his grasp and skidded across the ground. He rolled over onto his back and jumped back onto his feet. He dodged shadows and soldiers as he waited for another Large Body to run at him in the direction of his weapons. Then, one did. He jumped over the Large Body and rode on its back until it got him close enough to one of his swords to leap out and grab it. Once he had one of his swords back, he held it in his right hand and aggressively fought his way back toward the girl.
"What are you doing?" he asked her. "It's dangerous. Do you know where we can go that's a little safer?" He had calmed down a little bit upon seeing the girl. He thought back to Althea and her kindness. He would not let this girl fall to the heartless like she had.
Perhaps she hadn’t spoken. In hindsight, it would have been a better idea not to talk during a skirmish—afterall, the young man had obviously lost his concentration, and was pushed to the side. She heard the falling of swords, and was just about to run to his aid as any good knight would have done…but the sheer number of these Heartless alone was a bit overwhelming.
She had to at least reduce their number for the time being. Whispering a few simple magic words, she charged at a couple members of the hoard, ice collecting on Clarent. With a blade of ice, she sliced easier through the shadows and Soldiers, while the ice butterflies that peeled from Clarent stuck themselves onto the Operas.
It did not take too long before the boy showed up again—she was clearly holding her own, though her smile suggested she was relieved.
A place that was safer?
The First District, obviously!
With a hand motion, she beckoned him to follow her as she bulldozed her way through the posse of Heartless with Clarent. Though lithe, she had the obvious makings of a future tank.
Mordecai noticed the girl motion for him to follow her. "Hold on! I've got to get my other sword!" He wanted to stay by her, but it seemed that she could fend for herself well enough, so he hurried over to his other weapon laying on the ground. He snatched it up and killed as many heartless as he could as he chased after the girl. "First District?" he yelled after her as he got closer. "I'd rather not. It's pretty boring there." He slowed down and eventually stopped. "And there are too many people. Screw that." He turned back around, ready for the heartless to come back at him.
