In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

The limitless dark sky seemed to slowly blanket the setting sun until all there was left was the colour of midnight blue. The past few weeks felt so depressing and lonely... it was unimaginable, she had never felt such an empty feeling without her friend with her or even by her side... it just showed how much she cared... how much she worried...
"Maybe he's never coming back..." a young girl sighed as she sat on an arched paopu fruit tree, her legs dangling over it. She had not long entered her human form, so she still had quite a while until her fin came back. The days seemed to go by slower and slower, like always Crystal waited and waited... she waited for the one person who she had befriended since being here... he understood her... didn't he?
Maybe... he didn't care about her, she hadn't really done much with her life since being here, she only spoke to others and such... but other than that, nothing... she felt so lonely...
Demyx smiled, as he stepped out of the dark void into the wasn't beach of Destiny Island. It had been awhile since he last been here, and still it was as beautiful as when he first saw it. He looked out towards the sea, and closing his eyes remembered what happened the last time he had a mission here.
He met a wonderful girl...Crystal, how she was so beautiful and sweet. Seriously the nobody couldn't have been any luckier, Crystal was pretty much the only person that understood him. She enjoyed music just like he did, and had just a great personality. He was so happy that he would be able to get to see her again, at least this time he'll be able to stay longer than he did last time.
As the Nocturne's thoughts began to rest, he opened his eyes. "Now then..." he said as he took out a notecard from his pocket, "Let's see...reconaissant in the Islands, and see if you can find any valuable information, DO NOT slack off! yeah...like that's gonna happen.." He put the card away, then looking back towards the water wondered. 'I wonder where Crystal is...'
He looked around, walking about the area. Finally after a few minutes, he saw a familiar figure seating on an arched tree. He squinted his eyes, and walking closer towards the figure realized that the figure, was Crystal! His smile widened, he was about to call out to her, when he suddenly got an idea.
He sat down on the ground, and raising his hand high in the air summoned up Arpeggio. He then took his beloved sitar in his hands, and twirling it placed it on his lap, he then got into position and closing his eyes once again, let his hands go to work. He then started to play a random tune, a soft, happy one. He made sure he was just loud enough so that Crystal could hear him, but not so loud that it ruined the chord he was making.
'I hope she remembers me..' he thought, and with that he waited to see if his one friend would come down, and hopefully be happy to see him again.
Crystal had really never felt so sad, in fact... this was probably the only time she had ever been, especially to the point where she was crying. She felt so lonely and deceived, she didn't know what she had done wrong... well, maybe it was just her sensitive nature...
But, it didn't seem he would ever come back, despite his promise. It had been weeks since their first encounter! Being so close to him, it felt more like years.
Just as she was about to sigh, she choked and gasped at the sound of something familiar. Her eyes widened, a sudden leap appeared in her heart as she looked in the direction of where the sudden music was coming from. She wanted to smiled... but then she remembered... he had abandoned her for so long it felt... he was probably after something else, she didn't feel like he cared about her.
Wiping her eyes, Crystal jumped down from the tree and walked away, it was obvious she had been crying. Damn it! Why did she have to feel so sensitive towards any emotion?!
She didn't walk anywhere towards him, instead, she just kept walking away and didn't look back, she was too upset right now. She kept her head bowed as she walked, trying to think of the reasons why he was here... and why he had been so far away from her for too long.
It was only a couple chords, till Demyx stopped playing. He looked up at where Crystal was sitting and saw her gone, he then looked around, hoping she was somewhere nearby, but she wasn't. This made Demyx scratch his head in bewilderment, just where had she gone?
He thought about it for second, did she perhaps not hear him playing? No that couldn't be it...The nobody bit his lower lip, trying to find some simple explanations why she had just walked off and vanished. Suddenly a thought came into mind, which made his eyes go wide, he looked at the tree she was sitting on once again, and dropping the sitar in his lap wondered. 'Did she perhaps...not want to see him?'
The nocturne looked down at the ground sadly, perhaps she figured out what he really was...and therefore didn't want anything to do with him. This made the nobody sigh, it was sad...the only person that could relate to him, didn't want to see him...and now he was alone...
Now usually this would be no deal, afterall Demyx couldnt feel anything, he had no heart! But...for some reason, just the thought of Crystal possibly hatting him, made him grow...what was the word? Sad? He shook his head, 'No.' he thought stubbornly, 'Dont let your head get to ya Demyx...'
This made him get up from the sand, he then suddenly began to run towards the place Crustal was sitting not to long ago, he jumped onto of the roof of a shack, and running to the edge of it, jumped onto higher ground to where the tree was. He then crossed the bridge, and stoping just for a second, looked around to see where she went. He then saw a figure not to far away, walking on the other side of the beach.
The nobody smiled, he then jumped from the tree and followed her footsteps. He had to find out what was wrong, even if it was the case that she knew what he was, that doesn't mean she should hate him right? I mean...what did he do wrong? He ran as fast as he could towards his friend, he could see her bright aqua color hair now. 'Surely there's another reason...' he thought.
Well soon he would fine out, he literally lunged towards the girl, and grabbing a hold of her shoulder tried to stop her from moving. He panted as he stopped moving himself, then getting himself togeather, smiled friendly. "Man...your hard to catch up to." he joked. And chuckling a little, waited to hear her response.
Crystal looked at the ground sadly, sniffling slightly as she let the cool breeze brush past her. She may or may not have been taking all this the wrong way, but stilll... she didn't want to be alone, not anymore. Demyx was the only person she had, of course, she couldn't bring herself to tell him this... he probably no longer cared... did he ever?
Just as she was about to sigh, she halted and froze as something grabbed her shoulder, before she could react, he spoke to her. His cheerful voice just made her heart sink... how could he be so happy at a time like this? He had left her for so long, it may not have been years... but it really felt like it...
It wasn't a week or two either, most likely a month it added up correctly. She spent day and night just waiting for him, but every time he never showed up, it broke her heart even more. Obviously, Crystal was a very sensitive soul, one that didn't like to be alone...
She looked away from him before he saw her cry, though the sniffles that escaped her and the tone of her voice made it all too obvious. "Leave me alone..." she said sadly, pulling away from him as she walked away once again "...I... I don't even know why you bothered coming back..."
Demyx could not expect what would happen, once he had caught up to his dear friend. He could hear her sniffling, as if she had been crying. His voice then became soft, "Crystal?" he asked concerned. "What's wrong?"
He waited for an answer, but what she said was not something the nobody thought he would hear. "Leave me alone..." she said sadly, pulling away from him as she walked away once again. "...I...don't even know why you bothered coming back."
At that moment, the nocturne felt as if he had been slapped in the face. She was mad at him afterall...but the nobody couldn't understand...why? He looked at her in bewilderment repeating, "Why I bothered coming back?" He soon then walked to the side of her, and grabbing her arm asked. "Hey wait! I don't understand...did I do something wrong?"
He tilted his head to the side in confusion, hoping Crystal would tell him what he had done. He whispered, but loud enough so that she could hear. "Please tell me...what's wrong?"
Crystal looked down as Demyx grabbed her arm him constantly trying to stop her was starting to upset her even more. Why couldn't he just leave her alone?
She jerked her arm away from him before turning to face him, seeming a little worn out due to the amount of crying, she just couldn't look at him. With a tearful sigh, she looked away from him, being sure not to make eye contact as she gripped her arm lightly. "You promised you'd come back..." her eyes began to tear up again as she spoke in a soft whispering voice, it was due to the crying that caused it to break a little.
"I waited... just like I promised... every day and night for the past few weeks..." she looked down sadly, unable to control herself as she could no longer take it anymore, her arms soon wrapped around him as she buried her face in him "I thought you had left me... I thought you had forgotten about me..."
Her embrace around him tightened, but not to the point where his back would break, she just didn't want to let go. "I missed you... so very much..." her voice shook as she buried her face deeper into his cloak "I don't want to be alone... I'm not when I'm with you..."
Demyx was taken back by Crystal's words, he hadn't expected her to hug him, the tears she had tried to hold back, the nocturne could feel dampining his coat. He looked down at the girl sadly, "I'm sorry..." he whispered, wrapping his arms around her. "I'm sorry I took so long, but you have to understand Crystal..."
At this he broke away, and tilting her chin up so that she would look at him said. "I could never forget you...afterall how could I? your the only friend I have...surely that means something."
He wiped the tears from her eyes, and smiling softly added. "I missed you too." And with that, he gave the girl a small peck on the cheek.
Crystal sniffled as she looked up at Demyx tearfully, realising how silly she must've appeared for getting upset over something like this, but... she couldn't help it, she didn't like being alone... and ever since eating that fruit, she felt like only half a person when Demyx wasn't with her...
She couldn't even decipher why that was, she didn't think for a second that it could've been the fruit that caused her to feel like this, after all, she had shared a fruit with someone when she had no idea of the legend behind it.
Looking up at him, but with a saddened smile, Crystal held one of his hands and placed it to her cheek, somewhat nuzzling it. "It means everything to me..." she whispered, still crying, but was slightly surprised to see Demyx wipe away her tears, it seemed like such a sweet thing to do, she couldn't help but smile.
"I could never forget you, Demyx..." she smiled, wiping her eyes on her own this time before placing her hand over her chest "you hold a very special place in my heart... I know it must sound silly considering we haven't known each other long... but..." she looked away shyly, feeling slightly awkward for saying it "...I feel like I've known you my whole life..."
What he did next set alarms off in her head, what did he just do? She blinked for a moment before looking at him, her cheeks were a light pink... this was odd... how could such a small yet sweet action create what she was feeling right now? It couldn't have been anything serious, but it did feel nice...
"You'll stay longer this time... right?" she asked him, trying to push away the small kiss as she hugged him again.
Demyx nodded his head at the girls question, "Yeah..." he muttered. He then let the girl hug him once again, smiling a little as she did. He was about to hug her as well, until an idea crossed his mind. He broke the hug, taking the girls hands into his, and giving her a wide smile said. "Hey Crystal, I'm back!"
This made the Nobody then laugh, hoping that she would as well. Though he was a being with no heart, when're he was around Crystal he felt...something. He didn't know what, only that when he saw her, he actually felt like a real person. However, how would she feel if she actually knew what he was? Would she hate him, just like everyone else throughout the universe?
Denys couldn't help but frown at the thought of his only friend hating him for eternity, he would just have to hope that she wouldn't find out, and that some jerk would tell her about the Organization. But getting on to happier things, he looked at Crstal, and giving her a playful grin, bend down and poked her on the nose.
"So!" he asked happily, "How have you been? Have you made any new friends?" It was a simple question, but the Nocturne didn't really know what else to ask. His sociable skills still were not fully developed yet sadly. He straightened up, and crossing his arms waited for a response.
Crystal smiled at Demyx's reply, well, at least now she didn't feel so sad, looking back at it... she felt quite embarrassed to have even felt and thought that way about Demyx... she knew he'd never leave her.
When he pulled away and took her hands in his, she couldn't help but look up at him and smile, giggling at his words. "Silly..." she said whilst playfully shoving him. She really had missed him and everything about him, his smile, his cheerful attitude, and his music, Demyx was one of those people that you just couldn't forget.
It was then when she looked at him once more that she noticed the coat he was wearing, it was the same one he wore when they met. "Humm, do you always wear that?" she asked, looking up at him "doesn't you get hot in it?"
It was strange, really, she had never met someone to dress so oddly in a place like this, it definitely was an odd look... she couldn't help but get a strange feeling from it. But, before she could question further, Demyx had poked her nose and she blinked.
"Umm..." she didn't really know what to say about how she had been, after all, she had been waiting for him for quite a while and it didn't do her much good as it led her into depression, as for friends... "nope, not a single one... I guess I'm just too shy, and scared that they'll be mean to me if they found out what I am..."
She then tilt her head as she stared at him, then it hit her, where had he been all this time? So many thoughts ran through her head, but she couldn't understand why a particular one bothered her, made her slightly jealous even...
"So... what about you? What have you been doing since the past few weeks?" she asked nervously, playing with the hem of her skirt, she wouldn't tell him what she was thinking, one reason was because she didn't want to know if it was true, and secondly, he'd probably laugh at her.
Demyx wasn't expecting the question to be turned back towards him, "me?" he repeated, pointing towards himself. He crossed his arms, and humming a low 'hmmm' sound pondered over the question. What had he done after these last couple of weeks? Not much.
Since he got back to tell Saix the information he recovered from his last visit at Destiny Islands, he had been awfully lazy, and had hid himself back in his room within the castle walls that the nobodies lived in, That is until today. He smiled at Crystal and putting his hands on his hips said. "Nothing really...it's mostly been pretty lonely without you..."
Which was true. Demyx greatly did miss Crystal while he was away, and though he wanted to go back just to see her lovely face again, he knew the rest of the Orginization members would get curious. And he just couldn't have that. For if any of them found out that he had broken usual protocol...they were most likely to do something nasty, and the nocturne didn't want to get Crystal dragged into that sort of mess, more than less get hurt because of his mistake of not keeping a low-profile.
He sighed, his smile turning slightly into a frown. He looked back at Crystal and noticing her nervously playing with the hem of her skirt asked. "Hey, Is something wrong?"
Crystal didn't know why, well... she kinda did, but she felt relieved to know that he had missed her, that meant something at least... right? Still, she couldn't help but worry, but why did she care...? It was none of her business, right? It's not like she-...
She just shook the thought from her head, no, it was too soon, surely. It felt impossible, but ever since the fruit-... No! She had to get these thoughts and feelings out of her, she didn't want them, but at the same time she needed them. Ugh... who was she kidding...? These feelings felt wonderful to her, it's just the fear she didn't like.
Now she couldn't even bring herself to look at him, he asked her if something was wrong, but she just turned her back on him, trying to avoid him seeing the pink in her cheeks, she shook her head quickly. "I-It's nothing..." she managed to get out before walking on ahead, but when she got so far, something happened...
"What...?" she murmured to herself as orbs formed around her, her eyes widened to see flexible white creatures wriggle out and head straight for her, the only thing she was able to see was a strange design on their flat heads before being knocked out.
Crystal grunted as she fell to the ground on her back, her head fell to the side as the odd creatures began to swarm around her.
The nocturne looked at the girl surprised, as she turned and started walking away from him. 'She's doing that an awful lot...' he thought concerned. He was about to run after her, when something caught his eye.
He turned his head to see a small white wriggling creature beside him, making the nocturne literally freak out. "What the-!?" He thought surprised. He knew exactly what this creature was, afterall the Orginization controled them. "Dusks..." he muttured to himself. "But what are they doing here?!"
A thought then crossed his mind, the nobody gasped, and looked forward shouting, "Crystal!" as he did. He saw a group of dusks headed straight for her., surrounding her in every direction. He moved quickly. He summoned up Arpeggio once more, and rushing towards the lesser nobodies threw hi sitar at them.
However, he was too late, one of the dusks somehow managed to knock her out. Demyx glared at the nobodies, then as his sitar circled back towards him, taking down some dusks as it did, he instantly grabbed it and hit the nobody that was closest to him. Then jumping above the nobodies head's so he could get to Crystal, grabbed the girl by the waist and jumped out of the ring of dusks, throwing their attention towards him.
Then landing on the ground softly he laid Crystal on the warm sandy ground, stepping in front of her so that he could protect her. "Alright..." he said looking back towards the dusks. "I dont know what Orginization is thinking...but you guys have to go!"
At this, he held Arpeggio firmly in both hands, and glaring at the dusks started to play on his sitar viciously shouting out loud, "Dance water, dance!" Suddenly water from the ocean started to rise from the ground, forming into different shapes. Demyx smiled.
Then as he continued to play, the water figures attacked the lower nobodies, throwing them into the air and then bashing them right back into the ground. The nocturne looked at Crystal for a slight secound, "dont worry...." he said whispering mostly to himself. "Ill protect you."
It was then a couple minutes, until the water figures finished off the rest of the dusks. Demyx sighed in relief, wiping away beads of sweat that had formed on his forehead. He panted thinking, 'well that was fun.' He then turned his attention back towards Crystal, he bended over the unconscious girl, and putting his hand on her shoulder shook her a little.
"Wakey, wakey Crystal." he said jokingly. "Time to get up!"
Crystal just layed there, silent and still, without a sound or movement, she was completely motionless. Even her breathing was so slow and less that it looked as if she wasn't breathing at all, she had obviously hit her head quite hard. It was quite bad to be honest as her turquoise hair also held something dark and wet within it, a crimson substance, indicating that she had obviously hit her head on a rock or something.
There was nothing going through the girl's mind, how could there be? Everything was black for her and those creatures were to blame...
