In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Match: Doogie vs. Kairi Judges: Shun, Zephiris, Sumdood Read here and here for battle information
The milling crowd murmured excitedly among themselves. Setzer lounged against the rule board, chatting idly with the ladies and answering a question or two as they popped up among the contestants. Every once in a while his eyes glanced up to the Station Tower, his violet gaze scanning for time on the majestic clock faces.
The golden minute hand ticked on. A few moments later Setzer grinned, straightened, and around him the crowd parted like water. Murmurs died down as he strode towards the Sandlot's center. By the time he reached his destination, silence reigned.
"Twilight Town citizens, guests - friends," he began. "I, Setzer Gabbiani, am honored to host Twilight Town's annual matches this morning. As all are aware, today sixteen competitors shall battle for the trophy, the belt," at this he shifted his cloak, and said garment gleamed from where it hung from his shoulder, "and the title of Champion. Play fair and good luck to you all.
"Without any further ado, ladies and gentlemen, I bring you this year's Struggle Tournament!"
In a grand sweep of his arms the medley of onlookers were roaring. His next words somehow carried over their excited voices to announce the starting round.
"First match of the Preliminaries - Flint Stonedealer and Kairi Tanaka!"
Setzer stepped back, nodding for the first contestants to be handed their bats and take his place in the arena. For once the attention left him - and the Tournament began.

Looking up at Setzer hearing her named be annouced, she watched him leave the center leaving her alone with a strange and bats. She held hers horizontal in her hands as if craddling it. Her right hand held the handle looking at her opponent. The bat swung in her arm back and forth as she slowly approached the center.
"Hi...," she started uncertain,"I'm Kairi...of-course."
She chuckled nervously, since this was her first struggle match.
Doogie had lately been noooot having good days. Nothin was goin right really, and he was ready to blow off some steam, and a Struggle Tournament seemed the peeerfect way to do it. After Setzer announced his name, he collected his Struggle Bat and stepped onto the arena. "Hey. My name's Doogie, as you just heard. I hope you're ready for this." he said as he swung his bat in front of him a little to test it's weight. He was ready for this fight, whether this girl, Kairi was or not.
As he didn't know what to do, and Setzer had left the arena...he decided that he would start off the battle and have the attacker's advantage. He lunged at Kairi and swung his bat at her torso, hard. He was hoping that the attack would hit, but no matter what the outcome of that attack, he'd either jump or roll away afterwards. He might get hit...but he was hoping that this hit would make the chance of his getting hit a little lower.

Why did he sounded like he was mad? Blue eyes widdened at the feeling of discomfort. Either way, the struggle was starting so she wielded the bat like she would her keyblade, while she got in stance; she had a tendency of being on her toes. Not liking him too close to her, Kairi kept in mind to keep their distance. With the lunge, she squeaked at the lack of warning and jumped back away from the blunt end of the bat.
Her feet staggered before getting together, and she looked up at her opponent as if she got betrayed at the lack of notice. Uuuh I'm not on the islands...I can't expect everyone to play nice. I even felt the breeze from that bat.
Shaking her head, she gripped tighter on the bat. She needs to toughen up or she'll just be whacked around. If she can't survive a mere game, how can she survive the worlds? Side stepping around, Kairi kept her bat pointed a head of her to attack when neccessary and defend and deflect when needed. Remember, with your light you can survive any darkness
That was her little motivation. Envision that her opponent is darkness and whack the heck out of it. Still she doesn't want to run into a fight either.
Unfortunately his attack didn't hurt his opponent, but he still jumped away, not sure if Kairi would attack him or not. Oddly, she didn't, she only jumped away, and acted...scared. She kinda looked hurt that Doogie would attack her, but Doogie didn't understand it, as it was indeed a tournament. "What? You didn't expect me to attack you? Well get used to it! Now come and attack!"
Doogie really wasn't willing to not have Kairi fight him. He was mad, and he was wanting something to hit, and dodge. At the moment he didn't care if he won the battle or not. Sure, he wanted to, but as long as he got to hit something/someone, he'd be good.

Kairi frowned at the rudeness and also no one was going to bark orders at her as if she was a dog. He truly need to dig his panties out of his crack, but Kairi held her stance and ground. It wasn't in her to go charging, she rather wait and react versus run forward and possibly leave herself open, "If you want a fight, you're coming to me."
So with that Kairi began backing away; he'll have to work to get to her. In her mind, her bat became her keyblade, and he was just another taunting figure to take out.
//It's been more than a week and Doogie Doogles hasn't posted in the Departures board and/or asked for more time. Sadly, Doogie has been disqualified from the tournament; we'll find another opponent for Kairi soon//
