In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

A flash of coins flickered into Setzer's peripheral vision, and he turned for a moment to watch a group of young boys gamble over the remaining Preliminary winners. Too bad I'm hosting this year, he thought in resignation, and he returned his attentions to his task.

Today is important somehow. Wish I knew exactly how.
What's that strange, blue stick doing on my bedpost? ... Wait...

Hero was out of breath. As fast as he was, it took him nearly 10 minutes to quickly wash, dress, eat, and run down to the sandlot of twilight town. Since the company he worked for had him going through a multitude of worlds, his residence in Twilight Town was a camping tent in an abandoned apartment building. Supporting his weight by pressing his hands against his knees, Hero finally caught his breath and walked forward. He heard an announcer shout out:
"Sixth match!"
Okay. Hero recollected his thoughts. This was a struggle competition. A tournament in which contestants are paired and duel each other using foam-like bats and extracting orbs from each others, well, he didn't have much of a clue yet. Luckily, Hero didn't over-nap too much. He had received notification of his entry in the tournament that morning, so he decided to nap to regain his stamina and rejuvenate his consciousness. Now was his turn.
Hero wiped the sweat off of his forehead and walked in to the sunlight. His unkept hair looked fairly odd - the vibrant shade of blue shined rather incoherently. He went, today, with the regular casual clothing he wore to work, a tightly bound black sweater, red jeans, and the cat-eared headphones he liked so much - even when he wasn't using it to listen to music, it provided as a good pair of earmuffs. Hero's violet eyes shone brightly when sunlight hit. A lot of the audience looked at him in disgust, both due to his reputation and his incoherent timing upon arrival. However, he wasn't too fussed. At the company he worked for - whom people believed to be a wide-spreading evil cooperation, Hero was so determined to be useful that he forgot all about the vacation time he had built up. He saved one day for this specific occasion, so he was glad to finally relax in the heat of all the work he tried in his busy life. He casually walked up the steps of the arena's circle with a nonchalant grin.
His opponent would be due to come any moment now. Hero had no intention of winning, but a day spent without doing something active made him unusually restless, especially when it was a day he was given a break. He hoped the Struggle Tournament would pose some fun to him. Hero transported his struggle bat to his left arm and stretched the other, making sure it was in a fit condition for the sport. The crowd buzzed furiously like a giant hive of bees, discussing the match and making bets and making incessant noise.
Hero took a few practice swings and made sure he was comfortable with the bat. It wasn't a crowbar, but all the same, he liked it. Now, all was needed was his Struggle partner.
Wether Hero lost or won, he hoped they could go out for lunch later.

(( Iggy can't get online often enough, and has decided to drop his character from the Struggle. We'll set you up with another partner soon. And. . . you don't have to reply IC to this. XD ))
Setzer's thin silver eyebrows drew together when he heard the news. This put a bit of a damper on the entertainment, but ah well. He'd be able to work it out.
"My apologies," he said, rising to his feet to address the crowd and the lone competitor. "It seems our contestant shall not be able to make it this afternoon. Not to worry, I'm certain he won't be the only one unable to make it to the next round. Herone - as soon as another participant without a partner emerges we'll restart your match."
