The Beginning of Chaos [finished]

"Time for a little Chaos."

The Second District of Traverse Town. The second most dangerous place in the city. Darkness began to gather in the middle of the courtyard. This in and of itself was not unusual, as that was often how the Heartless formed up to attack. The unusual thing was the darkness itself. Instead of spreading out, and forming many shapes and forms, it drew itself up into a solid black orb. Red electricity sparked across the surface, and dissipated along the ground and up the walls. The orb contracted and then exploded out wards, vanishing quickly. Where it was, a young woman stood, holding a staff. The red energy danced across her frame, but she seemed unconcerned.
This woman had pale, sickly skin, a black trench with a very odd-shaped collar, deep gray-blue shorts and matching shirt. Her shoes were red with yellow and black stripes. Her hair was black, poofed up and frizzy, yet seemingly perfectly controlled, with three perfect red stripes run through it. She opened her eyes, revealing a blue so light it might as well have been white. She lowered her staff, which had a beautiful burnished blue metal finish, with intricate patterns, and a large emerald on the tip. She smiled, a look devoid of happiness. "Looks like I survived. Oh, goody. Heheheh... No more competition, no more starving, no more thieving to survive... Looks like I made it to a new world... Now... Where am I?"

A woman was running through the big space in the Second District with a look of pure terror on her face. Why she was running was unknown till a fire covered frisbee was flying right at her. It hit her in the back and caused her to fall to the ground writhing in pain at the burns. A black portal opened in front of the woman and a red-headed boy stepped out of it and stared at the woman in pain.

"Sorry 'bout that lady, but I told you to catch it." Lea said with a smile as he aimed his open palm at the lady and fire began to gather and form an orb in his hand. The woman screamed as the fireball hit her and she was soon lit on fire, as her body burned a little pink heart came floating from the fire. Lea reached up and caught it and gazed at it with a smile "Well, guess that ends my little snack hunting." He said to himself as he plopped the heart into his mouth and swallowed it whole. "Man oh man, that was tasty." He said as he licked his lips in satisfaction.

She tilted her head to the side as a woman appeared, screaming. Suddenly she fell, and caught fire, some strange weapon sticking out of her. A the fire consumed her, a dark bubble appeared, and released a man. She chuckled slightly as he took something from the body, and ate it. Odd, but who was she to judge? She examined the man... well, teen... Actually, there was something off about the red head. Plus his seeming powers with fire, which was pretty rare amongst the Chaotics at home. Oh well... Something about him appealed to her psychotic side. Maybe it was his infectious smile, or his murderous tendencies... Whatever. She crossed her arms, smiling, and said, "Hi."

"Hi."

Lea turned around to see another woman with...big poofy hair. He looked her over and could sense something in her. Something...dark. "Well hey there lady. You know it's kind of dangerous to roam here around here, you know the Heartless like to come out and snack around here." Lea said with a smile on his face. He didn't know who this lady was, but something about her was just too...familiar. He swore he could sense some kind of darkness off of her, but it was a different kind of darkness.

She blinked, a look of confusion crossing her face momentarily. Heartless? She had never encountered that term before. Meh, who cared? It wasn't like she was a helpless maiden. "I can handle myself," she said, playing just a little red electricity over her hands. "And, besides, weren't you just snacking? I would think, if you ain't hungry anymore, I should be fine. So, what is this place? Besides your hunting grounds, I mean."

Lea watched as the woman played with a bit of red electricity in her hands. He couldn't help but smile at her when she said she could take care of herself, "Well I'm sure you can."

"...So, what is this place? Besides your hunting grounds, I mean." Lea looked at her, was she really asking him stuff if she saw him eat a heart? Oh well, she's probably either brave or crazy. "Well this place is called Traverse Town, you could call it your second home, since if your new here then it means your homeworld is gone. By the way, the name's Lea. Got it memorized?"

"Heh. Second home, huh?" She liked that. Start over. Make the people fear her for HER, rather then for her birth. "Lea, huh? Yeah, I can remember that. I'm Xaoc. So, tell me, how is it a teenage boy is so powerful? I mean, you can't really be as young as you look. And your little performance there... Well, let's just say, I'm doubting my eyes," she said, tossing a careless glance at the burn mark on the pavement, then moving her eyes back to his.

Xaoc huh? So that's what this lady went by, and she seemed to be completely comfortable with being in a new world. Lea just raised an eyebrow at her, she really is a strange one. Then she asked about him, Lea just chuckled to himself, "I could tell you, but that stays a secret with me. Although, you could say I'm just someone who lives in the dark." Lea looked at her with a grin, did she really think he'd tell her anything or everything about him? Nope, she wasn't about to one speck of info from him.

"Really now. You could say almost the same about me. Only I don't live in the dark. I live in Chaos," she said cryptically. A secret keeper, huh? She had the feeling wheedling at him wouldn't have the desired effect. So, she tried a different tact. "Then at least tell me what Heartless are. I'm assuming you aren't talking about people here, right?"

She lived in...Chaos? Well that was new, oh well, it didn't matter to Lea anyway. Then she asked about the Heartless, Lea wanted to smile but didn't, she had saw him eat a heart already. So he needed to be careful with her...aw what the heck. "Well miss Xaoc, if your wondering what they are then I'll tell you. Heartless are little monsters of the dark, they creep around pretty much anywhere they feel like. They come in a shapes and sizes and only live on one simple thing...hearts." Lea stood and watched her waiting for a reaction from her, wondering if she put two and two together.

"Really? You mean like you just did?" She smiled. So he wasn't human. That cleared up a few qustions, like his fire based abilities. "Heheheh. Didn't you just say you weren't telling, sweety?" She grinned, and leaned on her staff. she asked, laughing that creepy little laugh again. "If these things are black with yellow eyes, then, I think I do know what you're talking about. I'm reasonably sure they destroyed my world. Good thing, too, otherwise I might still be stuck there."

Lea face palmed himself as he just realized it. She had seen him eat that woman's heart. Guess it couldn't be helped. "Okay okay I get it. You could say I'm a special breed of them. And yeah, they are those black things with yellow eyes are Heartless. You know, your the first I've meet who is actually okay with having their world taken away. Any specific reason for that?" Seriously, someone who's okay with their world going poof? Now that was a first for the red-headed Heartless.

"Is 'because I despised it there' a good answer? If so, I'm totally going with it. I hated it because by it's laws and customs, I am a monster, a freak, something best ignored and forgotten. All because of circumstances outside the realm of my control." Her eyes narrowed, and dimly glowed red at the memories, then the glow faded. "But I'm here now. I can make a new start. Well, I wish I could. I'll probably have the whole city fearing me in a week. Oh well. Fear I can deal with." She sighed, and shook her head, her eyes closed. Some people just didn't understand. "I'm cursed, kinda."

"Special breed, huh? You mean you were strong enough to retain some semblance of humanity, whle the others are just mindless animals?"

Lea listened to Xaoc's explanation of why she hated her world, So she just hated it? Eh, her world must've sucked real bad then." He heard her say how she would have the people here in town fear her in a week, he couldn't help but smile, "So you think you can really have the town scared of you in a week? Might take you a bit longer, some people here aren't easily scared."

"Special breed, huh? You mean you were strong enough to retain some semblance of humanity, whle the others are just mindless animals?" "Yep, you got it lady. I'm a bit more powerful than the regular bunch, and since I am I can do a few other things than just look human." Lea replied to her question.

"I'm guessing you've never seen a Chaotic berserk before, have you?" she asked him. "Most people have trouble surviving such an experience, let alone living to tell others about it. I would be surprised if every permanent resident hasn't heard about the woman with the black aura in three days time. Hey, I'm getting tired of standing. Wanna sit?" she asked, motioning to a bench.
