In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Disney neglects the other princesses? I always wondered about this in KH1. So what was the point of the seven when there were others? What about the others?
Princess/Queen Listing ((that weren't necessarily in the plotline)) Nala - Lion King Anastasia - Anastasia Malina - The Emperor's New School Tigerlily - Peterpan Minnie Mouse
Firstly, seven's a lucky number! So...Seven Princesses of Heart is rather poetic If you want to ignore symbology and the like...mer, too much to think about this early in the morning.
Since Nala wasn't born into royalty, I'm not sure that makes her a Princess until she's with Simba, and then she's a queen. In any case, it seemed that the Squeenix crew wanted to keep the Princesses of Heart human, leaving Ariel out...Also, I don't see why Pocahontas couldn't have been one instead of Alice...
Anastasia is actually a Fox film, not Disney, but it does have a lot of similar qualities!
Is Malina really a princess? I've only seen like five minutes of two episodes of that cartoon.
Ah! Tigerlilly would be teh awesome in the KH series!
Minnie Mouse is most definitely portrayed as a Queen, powerful in her own right.
They also forgot Kida (Atlantis) Maid Marion (Robbin Hood) and Eilonwy (Black Cauldron)
*dances the Disney dance* Oobie doo, I wanna be like you-u-u

I believe they kept the most well-known Princesses.
And I also believe in the poetic meaning, the symbolism behind it all:
The Pure... Oh my gawd, I have just completed the Twilight Theory...
The Princesses of Heart are completely pure, equal in both Light and Darkness, perfectly in between, 50-50. They are the ultimate in every World. The purest is Kairi, or in the KH: FM+ secret video, it was Aqua at the time.

Where on earth did you get that? It was stated that the Princesses of Heart had no Darkness in their hearts, and therefore produced no Heartless. Unless I completely fell asleep at the wheel, I can't remember at any time any of the Princesses being "purer" than the others.
Can you provide a link where it says this?

Actually the Princesses of Heart have no darkness in their hearts whatsoever, hence why Kairi didn't become a heartless when her heart was separated from her body.
As for why Disney neglected the other ones in their franchise, I believe that it had to do with making the game marketable. They picked the 6 (supposedly) most well known Disney princesses to the Disney fandom, so that more people would recognize them and the game would sell better. However this is just my opinion and should in no way be interpreted as fact.
Woah, it's just my thinking. I believe also that since Kairi never really lost her heart, that she could have no Heartless. It was with Sora when she went through him, the moment she was losing it. Sorry to argue, but she is a singular exception. The actual reason was never found.
Eilonwy would be amazing, but The Black Cauldron is a stretch. It's one of the few animated Disney flicks that's actually based on a comparatively recent, popular book series. It also astoundingly got a lot of it RIGHT...
I agree, they just chose the seven most famous princess's. And if they had to be born into royalty that rules out Snow White, Cinderella and Alice!?!?! lol
And I think that they should have metioned Ariel's sisters. I like them!!! ^_^ If Atlantica becomes a world, I am so going to be one of the sisters!!!!
ya like everyone else they probably just found it easier to keep the most famous ones, though i though aerial was going to part of it but i guess she would die if she was out of water o.O
Well technicaly Alice wasn't a princess, nor Pocahantas, who I've seen appear in a few of disney princess' consumer products. Another one is Mulan. Never really a princess at all.
Well, Alice isn't a princess either, really, so it must not be quite the same thing. What with being more a spiritual/magical position that a political one.
Come to think of it, several of them weren't born daughters of kings.
