[/b] Minatone "Minato" Ayasato
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Position: Neutral, his power makes his attitude a bit unstable concerning light and dark.
Powers: Minato is one giant pacifist. As boring as he is, he only knows how to fence just because it's an activity that gets him exercise. On the contrary, for more personal combat, he takes it to a completely whole new level. The one thing that allows him to fight to the fullest is a small piece of machinery latched somewhere between the frames of his skull and his cerebrum, cluttered with microscopic nanomachines and even tinier, stringing wires. The technology is called the "Transmissioner". Sudden shock to that particular area of his head sends a massive signal throughout his nervous system and brain through the use of the nanomachines and wires. In short, it causes him to go through a personality change. The monotone, laid back, easygoing Minatone Ayasato turns into a dangerous, serious, sagacitic persona that isn't afraid to engage combat or even say rude things. This change process is called "Transmission".
However, it takes a very forceful shock to activate the Transmissioner, which is why Minato uses a gun to "shoot himself in the head" to generate enough shock to Transmission.
The flesh and machinery that surround that certain area of his head that prevent the bullet from completely penetrating his skull, but only giving major shock and denting to the Transmissioner. When Transmissioned, Minato seems to awaken an old strength, one that allows him to be more relaxed in using a weapon, and keeping cool in the face of danger, possibly death. In a sense, he drives his own body to compete with aerobic activity he's not used to.
During the Transmission, not only does he reawaken physical strength, but mental strength, meaning his weapon is not his only usable course of combat. Unfortunately, it's not a very big increase concerning offensive strength, but since he can't use magic without the use of Transmission, it's all he has. To sum it up, he's capable of every single spell at it's lowest level (Fire, Blizzard, Thunder, etc.)excluding the dark versions and magnega. He uses small doses of magic to his advantage. By more mental expansion, meaning he is more capable of extra-curricular supernatural activity with extreme ease. These include magic tricks, fast-paced multi-tasking (gaming), and mind-reading to some extent. To some extent, it means to have a vague feeling of what the persons mood is, a few random and uncollected thoughts and opinions scrambled in their heads. However, as a side-note, he has to be in contact with the person to scan them over, but even that has it's limitations. Just at the moment, a handshake should do the trick.
Transmissioning lasts for 3-15 posts, but can be used consecutively
1-3 times a thread if it lasts so long, and
ends when fatigue or injuries become to straining for his mental capacity to handle, or the post count is up.. When high level magic is in use in substitution for physical strength, the post count is decreased to
5-9 posts per thread.
As a foot note, Transmission is not driven by an alter-ego or a separate portion of the heart, like Hero. Only a more pressured urge to survive and fight.
The reason why the nanomachines and technology is as effective as it is, without disruptions from the body's normal mechanisms and fluids to interrupt to process of Transmission is that he is a clone, as you will learn later. That means certain body parts, DNA, mental strength, even instinct and reflex that do not belong to him become operational, allowing him to do, well, what you just read.
Not a power, but a needed note nonetheless, he no longer has full use of his left arm, shoulder down, although his hand is still functional. Primarily, he is left-handed, so holding the cutter backwards helps, and damage to the arm is a heavy blow concerning combat.
Also not a power, you'll find out later that Minato is not really a full human being, but a genome clone created by his father using DNA and transplanting into an artificial body Even then, his body works like any other (besides the Transmission part), but there is one thin in particular that puts him off. There are strings in DNA called Telomores, which eventually corrupt due to the body aging. The Telomores only keep the body functional and youthful for an extended period of time before they die. However, Minato's artificial Telomores reproduce.
Obliviously, it would be known as "everlasting youth", except it doesn't last forever. However, it does slow down the aging process by one year, making him have to celebrate half-birthdays each June.
Weapon:To tell the truth, he has no weapon. But that's okay, because even if he did, he wouldn't use it. However, during Transmission, he uses one-handed swords. Anything that measures below 4 feet, has a light thickness, and is light in all, is a usable weapon for Minato. Well, that's the style of offense - his actually choice of weaponry happens to be a paper-cutter's ( The mechanism that consists of a flat surface with lines and squares for grid and measurement, along with a curved metal blade that is grasped by the equally bended handle to cut the needed and measured amount of paper, known to cut very well for it's sharpened edge ) unscrewed steel part.
So basically, a heavy, curved-like sharpened steel with reinforced plastic as a handle and covers a lot of area around the blade itself. Coincidentally, it is actually heavy for it's size, but the amount of reinforced plastic and weight of the steel was not taken into account, as it was going to be mounted onto the paper-cutter in the first place. Also, it cannot cut like it used to, as age tugged at it over time. Although he's cleaned it thoroughly, some rusts are notwithstanding, and some stains are irremovable - little chips and breaks in the blade make it more useful for bashing than cutting.
When enough force is applied, it can easily cut through iron like cheese, but against skin, the chances of even a gash contrast to just a large bruise is very unlikely. Because it is so heavy, and Minato happens to be kind of underweight, he tends to spin around a lot - not because it's cool, but to add more weight into his attacks on impulse, like Hero.
From the power section, you may know that he also owns a hand-gun, but he's not very accurate with a gun - after the Transmission, he usually stows it away. However, if - by some chance - his weapon is knocked out of his hands, the bullet from the pistol will act as the defense until he either reacquires the cutter or finds a new weapon.
On the subject of the gun, though. He has a good stock of bullets, but of course, he has to restock every now and then. However, in special circumstances, he might load the pistol without the bullet, and pull the trigger, psychologically in belief that it will give him the same shock a bullet does, due to internal dementia that came from the amount of time's he'd already shot himself. Or extreme paranoia in a round of Russian roulette.
Appearance: Minato's Concept ArtAnd more.Minato is a rather shrewd looking boy, who's appearance completely matches his personality. He has an array of blue hair that looks almost identical to Hero's, and rather pale and weak-looking eyes that share his hair's color. His skin tone is a healthy shade of light, well, skin color. He has a kind of scrawny build that prevents him from lifting heavy objects, but averages as a passable, thin boy with a normal muscle tone. In almost every world he goes to, his old school uniform stays on. It's always cleaned to the point that it is pretty much sparkling ( sometimes, an orange-like aroma comes out of it ). It contains a single white dress shirt tied at the collar with a somewhat elegant ribbon. A thin, black, white-trimmed coat is placed on top. To add some flair to it, Lee added an old pin to it.
The same colors appear on both his pants and his shoes. What seems to be two circular pieces of metal tie in the bare collar of the coat. A rather simple apparel. One thing he takes with him no matter where he goes is his music-playing device, much like his counterpart Hero. It contains clip-on earphones and a cylindrical mp3 device that glows green when it's sunlight sensor notices darkness. When the weather gets a bit chilly, he removes everything but under his torso and wears a either a black sweatshirt or a leather article of clothing similar to a trench coat. Hot weather calls usually for rolled up dress sleeves without the school uniform jacket and a pair of shorts. However, the beach calls for just the shorts.
Personality:Minato is a very monotone looking boy, who's appearance almost completely matches his character. A slacker by nature, he stays very monotone in opinion about a great many things, and keeps an optimistic outlook on life. Rarely on bad terms with anyone ( well, not as much as he is with them as they are with him ), he even keeps cool in the face of danger with his catchphrase, "Everything will be alright in the end." Many would say he's irresponsible, but in truth, he's very mature about what he needs to do. Just not very mature about what he doesn't need to do, but should do. However, he differs from Hero in a great many ways.
For a first, he isn't as polite with people as he is, usually calling them by either their last name or a name without honorifics. One of the only things that are that formal about him is his usual attire, which is what used to be his old school uniform. His hair is a blue, stringy mess, with only the occasional gracefulness. However, a comforting air surrounds the mood that follows him, and he can usually destabilize and calm down an enraged individual. Though he doesn't look it, he has a strong sense of justice and righteousness.
He has a tendency to mistake or unintentionally ignore obvious implications as well. He has a great bond with nature - not much of a freak about protecting forests from fires, but more of a connection to being around it. Rivers, plants, mountains, being under a bright blue sky brings him much happiness, which is one pretty standing out character trait. Besides that, he likes to clean, consume soft drinks, play games and take baths. One of his only true hates is a dish called stewed locust and snails.
Original World: S.E.E.S ( Serenade of Expanded Education Society )
Current World: Travels ( Has a residence in Traverse Town )
History:Minatone Ayasato was a laid back and easygoing teenager ( much like the one we know now ) raised and orphaned - having no parents - in a large, co-ed, educational world that was run by an academy codenamed S.E.E.S, which explains the armband that comes with his uniform. Like the Minato we know now, he was very shy and occupied, deeply involved with his studies and not very sociable. At the academy, around the time he was at his 3rd year there, he re-met his sister, Minako, whom was taking classes in a more distant sector of S.E.E.S, who had recently transferred over. Together, they managed to get through much of their high school career ( Minato's sister progressing into a college course ) when, like many other worlds, S.E.E.S became a victim of the heartless. Moments after, he was assaulted by a group of soldiers and lost consciousness. Only a few hours was he passed out, Minato managed to escape the heartless ridden building with the use of an unscrewed paper cutter blade - for defense of course. Minato saw many die that day, and with luck, he managed to stay alive, though, it came out to be total war before the world's heart could be devoured completely.
Minato barely survived with his life, but he suffered casualties. One of them being a dislocated, though fairly recovered left shoulder, and a weak stature. He still believes that his sister is still alive somewhere, and that is what drives him forward.
He now awakens in Traverse Town, a fugitive of another lost world.
The reason for the Transmissioner has varied over time. Many say that it was implanted when he was born, others say he did it himself and kept it a secret. The reason still stands unknown.
