In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.
The icons you see across the site are from FontAwesome, an amazing icon library.
All images on this site belong to their respective owners or creators. Kingdom Hearts: World Destiny does not claim ownership of anything except our unique story.
All Original characters are the intellectual property of their respective RPers. Do not steal any characters or other creative works.
All Canon Characters belong to the Kingdom Hearts franchise, Square Enix and Disney.
This is really about the site's rules and the ''you have to be an advanced role-player to rp here'' thing. Lots a noobs are leaving with either red faces or broken spirits.
I like all the staff and I believe their doing a good job, honestly. I hate it when someone insults the site. It really pisses me off.
What I'm trying to say is that when checking profiles most staff are kinda blunt. Yes they help but is the help really enough? For noobs it's like you gave them a paint brush, a paper and tell them to paint Sora fighting Roxas, with no paint! I'm saying this due to this profile¬worlddestiny.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=unaccepted&action=display&thread=14258&page=1
It pretty much say's ''Your profile is illogical. Start from scratch(By yourself) and since your not an advanced role player, look for another site'' Seriously, that's really harsh.
I know lots of people might will be angry at me but seriously. I'm only 13 and I'm opened minded. If a staff(preferably Ellie or Zephris because I'll actually listen to them) could please explain this to me I would really appreciate it. I know Ellie gave really useful guidelines (maybe too useful) but not everybody can use them.
I totally misread, dude. And I can be a little..."blunt" at times. I won't try to make apologies or excuses, because you're right-I shouldn't have accepted that profile.
I'm not staff, but I would encourage you to look at it from this perspective: when you try out for a baseball team, you have the choice to try out at a recreational league level, or a club team. The club team has probably been together for a while and has plans for future games. If you have never played before, would you expect to be picked up by the club team? They might say, "Work on your throwing. Go get a hitting coach, etc. or find a league that is more suited to your level." It's not meant as an insult. They're simply maintaining a standard.
There might be a better way to define what exactly WD's standard is, however.

*clears throat*
Let's ...begin
Yes the site is an intermediate to advance rpg, but the site also have leniency to assist those who want to learn. That should be on the homepage on the tabbed boards. So no, there aren't a lot of noobs do not leave with red faces and broken spirits. Seriously if we abide by that 'standards' to the teeth, some members wouldn't be permitted here.
Also ...no it isn't like leaving someone out to dry. Yes Ellie gave a lot of tips, enough tips that the member can have enough paint to paint a new profile. So what's truly harsh...a staff member trying to be helpful or a member who didn't even try to do better?
She replied 9 days afterwards without even a proven attempt to make reformations until she started to bad mouth the site, THEN we told her that she should find ELSEWHERE to go. There's nothing harsh about showing someone the door when they lacked spirit or tenacity to stick through the committment of our profile process, especially when the staff are only HELPING HER.
So it was more like this + Your profile is illogical + Here some tips to fix the kinks + Oh since you really don't care to stay...and you really can't 'handle' fixing a character even when you have assistance and help from a mentor....go find another rpg.
She had nine days to process all of it...and squandered it. Also Zepho was being far from harsh; she's typically polite throughout any chaotic situation that I have witnessed, which is a lovable and respectable characteristic about her.
So I will boldly say that we weren't being harsh nor I do not feel any remorse for that member, since she have to be immature and return nearly a month later to 'express' her disdain for a site she's hardly active in...because she was inept and inadequate. And I disable her account for 666 days.
What was the problem? She couldn't handle our standards...of 'common sense'; our sense of continuity and realism were deemed as 'rules' not 'logic' or 'something that made sense'. She's probably more comfortable with rpgs...that are fanfiction worthy, because enough lacks a stable ground of reality...things are what they are solely because the person wants it...not because the character was made that way. With that said, Kingdom Hearts: World Destiny wasn't the best option for her.
AND I QUOTE...MESELF with some revision
THIS RPG is more than just a place to dump your creation. It's a story, and a story can't be a story without characters to guide it, and a character is more than just a personal outlet to dump cool things on. The character needs TLC and thought about thoroughly for she can make and be apart of a good story. Sucky characters...can make a sucky story.
o3o I hope that clarifies it and I apologize in advance if my 'voice' sounds 'harsh'. I just find it quite ... iritating and disturbing for one no to 'see' what's there, nor do I admire entertaining that child by making a hoopla over her 'drama queeness' ...just saying...it's been a month and she's happily at other rpgs and she STILL can't get over it.
Perhaps...she wants to join and can't stand it DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN
While I agree with the critiques on the profile, I can understand the applicant's frustration. The process was very drawn out. She went through a process, lead to believe she would be accepted soon, and then shot down. I think the solution is in defining the criteria for applications more clearly, or streamlining the process a little bit more.
One answer might be to stage fast-paced trial rps or Q/A's over instant message. Or maybe the process might include responding to a specific pre-written rp starter, that would require the applicant to satisfy certain questions...or, perhaps if there was a very detailed list of EXACTLY what the staff is looking for in the application.
In summary, I agree with the decisions on the accepting or rejecting of profiles, and I also think there is room for improvement.

Like I thought...heh heh heh, you have totally convinced me and I see your side more clearly. Forgive me if it's impolite or something, I'm not known for my manners. I must ask about encouragement. She was begin a real ass but I can't help but shake the feeling that she had potential. I actually enjoyed found her profile amusing.
Sure she didn't have common sense or maybe didn't try to use it. She had clay but couldn't mold it into what she wanted. Her character just lacked life, but given another profile as an example could have shown her how things are done here. I'm not telling you how to check profiles, I just want to know what you think.

Suppose she was annoyed when everything seemed sunshine and daisies, then suddenly a huge load of corrections was dumped on her. However, she seems to lack patience or/and understanding because of her second post there -
Forgot it. I'm done here. I thought this site was going to be fun, but there are too many rules in my opinion. See ya!
Then finally she gets pissed and runs off. I'm surprised she even returned, when she said she was leaving, she came back to flame the site somemore >.>''
Her return really doesn't mean anything. She's trolling. Those are to be expected on the internet, and this site has it's history of them. But I don't know why I'm bothering to answer your question, though. After all:
If a staff(preferably Ellie or Zephris because I'll actually listen to them) could please explain this to me I would really appreciate it.
Lovely sentiment to leave with the rest of the staff. I'm just saying.
Back on topic, I've had a problem with the application process for a looooooong time. For like, the 4+ years I've been here.
As the character app process stands right now, just how it's set up is guaranteed to take forever in many cases. The word requirements annoys me to no end - as we will be getting quantity over quality - and it aggravates both the people writing it, and those reading it. I know the character process changed, but I feel it has become to complicated now. There is no efficiency. I need to talk about with the other staffies sometime. =3=
This was a really interesting thread and I got what I wanted from it. To everyone that replied, I thank you.
@the member above me: Don't take it too seriously. The only people I listen o are those I respect. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before you gain my respect. Because I'm interested in the post you've just made.
You still should listen to all of the staff regardless such abstract sentiments as respect. If you have a valid question, any and all on staff will be willing to give you a valid answer. Don't pick your help, it's unhealthy and unwise; the more readily you are willing to accept help from any facet of the staff the more readily will your situation be resolved.
Some of us can't help but take such comments as "I'd prefer x and y because I'll actually listen to them" seriously. The staff is a team: we for the most part share the same sentiments and communicate regularly. Saying you'll only listen to x and y or z discredits others on staff that could quite possibly give you the same answer.
Some of us get enough grief as it is trying to ensure the rules are upheld and member's issues are saw to, so showing preference doesn't help us nor does it help you.
Annnnnd this has gotten ranty. I need to work on that, but certain BS as of recent has made that difficult. But that is a rant for another time. >.> /rant
TL;DR
When comes to questions and the staff: Availability > Respect. We are all here to answer your questions. It's part of our job.
Amen, Cadey. You don't pick and choose who you get to listen to when it comes to those who have authority over you. That kind of attitude and it's ensuing actions are what can get you banned from a board for being an asinine and uncooperative member. No one on the staff wants to deal with that, whether you respect them or not.
And in response to the OP; The site is aimed towards advanced RPers. It's stated all over the place. If you can keep up to that level, then you've no problem. If you can't, WD isn't the place for you. It's that simple. If you aren't advanced enough to put forward a logical profile, you don't meet the most base qualification for this board. Are there less direct ways to say it? Sure. But everyone who joins this site needs to be honest and ask themselves if they hold to a level and standard that is on par with this forum.
A lot of people get their profiles turned away at least once. A lot of new members see this, leave and don't come back, to which I say "Good." I like to interact with all sorts of characters and personalities on this site. I don't like to deal with people who can't churn out a post or use basic grammar, punctuation and/or spelling, or stop posting in the middle of a thread. I prefer committed and legible RPers. Who doesn't?
And this isn't to say we won't take people completely new to RPing.
People who are new to RPing are welcome to join the site. We won't force them out. We just have a standard that we wish to upkeep - character interaction of well, thought-out content with literacy skills to match. People new to RPing can meet these standards easily if they've ever read a book of a high school reading level or above; RPing, in essence here, is writing in such a style. If they fall to meet these standards, we offer them help - it's up to them if they take the help and work towards improvement, or reject the offered critique and aid and leave.
If anything, it's up to the individual if they are up to snuff, not the site. Persistence and determination towards bettering one's self are admirable traits not only valued here, but in various aspects of life.
