In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

When Arthas felt the taps on his side, he held his free hand underneath the falling orbs, catching them and reattaching them to his body, then mindlessly shifted his weight and rushed at his opponent, who was just jumping to the side. He gave a hard swing at her side while she was in the air, at least knocking her off balance when she landed, then followed up with another rush, this time with a side-to-side swipe at her midsection.
Then, he brought the bat back in front of him and stood ready.
As arthas swung at her side, the girl instantly jerked back; causing her to go off balance. "Woah!" she shouted, as her back made contact with the ground. "oof!" she let out, feeling a small sharp pain. 'well that was good...' she thought, reopening her eyes that closed during her fall. V then gasped as she saw her opponents bat rushing at her. She rolled to the side, and avoiding his attack jumped back on her feet.
Perhaps lying on the defensive was not the best stratedgy in this case...maybe...some offensive was needed. She smiled at this thought, and holding her bat out towards Arthas; V dashed towards the man. She zig-zagged to the side, hoping to distract him. And as she reached him, did a short jab at his side. She then held out her hand, and collecting the few orbs that fell jumped back. alright...now then...your move Arthas!
He was hoping the girl would drop her guard, and he wasn't disappointed. As she gave a small jab, he let her hit him, but then took that opportunity to swing over her arm as she began to retreat, brushing an equal amount of orbs as the girl had just knocked off of him. As she ran away, he scooped them up, then went at the girl with a run, looking like he was about to swing.
But he didn't swing, and instead jumped in the air, doing a high jump over his opponent's bat, and gave a hard swing at the lower part of her swinging arm as he passed it, landing and sliding back a couple feet. His bat was ready for a counter, and he grinned at her as he landed, one hand on the ground for balance.
There was a lull in the action as both participants finished their move sequences, and were evidently gearing up for another. Setzer suddenly stood. The crowed hushed, and a ref held up a hand to stop the two finalists from continuing their brawl.
As Setzer stepped forward, a wave of whispers and excitement broke out among the crowd. In one hand he held the Struggle Trophy, in the other the Medal. The Champion Belt gleamed from where it draped across his shoulder.
"And that was a fine match from the final two of the sixteen!" Setzer called out to the Twilight residents. "But as we know, only one will bear the title of Champion and bring home the Trophy, wherever that home may be. Sir Arthas, my lady V, if you please - lower your bats and step forward."
He walked forward as well to stand before them. There was a pause, and quiet. Then -
"It is my honor to present the Struggle Trophy and Belt to our Champion of this year's Struggle Tournament - Arthas Kinohorin!"
As a roar ripped through the spectators Setzer presented Arthas with the Trophy and Champion Belt. He then turned to V, and ceremoniously placed the Medal around her neck before turning back to the crowd. Somehow he managed to make his cool voice heard.
"Both finalists will receive rare summon gems for their efforts. Kinohorin, for you a bird of fire and strength," from his pocket Setzer revealed a beautiful, red-orange gem in the shape of a feather. This he handed to the young man and then turned to V. "And for you, m'lady, a creature of patience and skill." To her he gave a small, blood-red, faceted oval stone.
"Congratulations to all!"
---
"It was quite an odd lot this year," Setzer contemplated to himself when it was all over. Most proved their worth on the Struggle field, but it was obvious more than a few of the foreigners were not accustomed to Twilight Town's traditional game, and many had to be disqualified for some transgression of the rules or another. Nonetheless, he had enjoyed himself. And the young man and woman deserved the cheers and admiration of the small world.
