Video Game: The Lion King II: Simba’s PrideHistory: Kiara was born to Simba and Nala of Pride Rock and is destined to succeed her father. While on one of her many outings, she had accidentally stumbled into the Badlands. There, she met a lion cub by the name of Kovu. After that, Kiara and Kovu had an almost-instantaneous friendship. They ended up running for their lives from alligators in a swamp and then presumed to play. That was before they were interrupted by Simba and Zira, however. Taking their cubs to their respective homes, Kiara and Kovu said goodbye to each for what they thought would be the final time.
As Kovu underwent his training, so did Kiara. She learned how to be a huntress of the African wilderness and was soon ready to go on her own hunt. It was supposed to be done solely by her to prove what she had learned and what she could do as a lioness. Little did she realize, Simba had tasked Timon and Pumba with making sure she was safe. They soon lost her, though, and Kiara continued on her own. She, unknowingly, was slowly walking into a trap being laid out by Vitani and Nuka. As they started a fire in the savannah, Kiara was soon surrounded by the flames and succumbed to unconsciousness. Kovu rescued her and, with the help of Rafiki, she was able to convince her father to allow him into their Pride… at least, until Judgment was passed.
Kiara was thrilled to have her childhood friend back and soon fell in love with Kovu as he did the same with her, after having Rafiki spell it out for him. Coming back to Pride Rock with Kovu, they were met by her father, who wanted to speak with Kovu alone. Kiara, hesitantly, acquiesced. When her father came back, alone and injured, she was shocked to hear him accuse Kovu of deceit. Kovu returned to Pride Rock to beg Simba for forgiveness, but, much to Kiara’s sorrow, was Exiled from the Pride Lands. In heartache, Kiara snuck out from Pride Rock.
She was found by Kovu and, after a loving reunion, she convinced him that they had to go back. They travelled back to the Pride Lands only to find it already under siege from Zira and her Outsiders. The two lovers interceded to prevent any more damage. Kiara proved to her father that there were no differences between the two prides. As Zira’s pride slowly but surely joined Simba’s, Zira leapt to attack Simba in a desperate last-attempt. Kiara pounced Zira, effectively driving her off-course, to the distress of both Simba and Kovu. The pair tumbled down the side of a cliff. Kiara managed to stop sliding on a ledge, but Zira was not so fortunate. As the spiteful lioness clung for her life over a raging river, Kiara attempted to rescue her. In spite of the young princess’ efforts, Zira fell to her doom due to her unwillingness to accept Kiara’s aide.
Returning home, the four lions, Simba, Nala, Kovu and Kiara stood high on Pride Rock, overlooking the Pride Lands. Simba unleashed a mighty roar and Kovu followed his lead with their partners joining in as well.
Role Playing Sample: The sun shone high in the sky as flocks of birds flew through the clouds. Down below, the scenery was vibrant and alive with lush color. A very soft, very light purr-like sound could be heard, but only by a single pair of golden-brown ears. The young lioness was hunting, but not for food; something else lay in her field of vision.
Focus. That was the first thing he’d taught her to do.
Feel the ground shift under your paws. As she remembered his words, her paws flexed and her claws kneaded the earth underneath her. She was low to the ground, something her father had taught her. Her tail swayed mesmerizingly back and forth, as if tempting her prey. Her deep, amber eyes were locked on her targets.
She had, surprisingly, been left alone today. She hadn’t expected her father to allow that. And, as she had some free time, she had decided to take the opportunity to have a little fun… and, maybe, get back at them a bit for always “keeping watch on her.” Yes, her prey was none other than Timon and Pumbaa. They were out hunting for more “food,” as they called it. They were always good for a laugh, after all. Kiara recalled the story her mom had told her of when she had been out hunting for food and Nala had ended up hunting Pumbaa before she had been stopped by Simba.
Her entire body tensed for attack and her pupils dilated, the yellow sclera around her amber irises seeming to grow larger. Just one moment longer… She smiled a bit, her mother’s story still playing through her head. Her ears folded back as her legs pushed off the ground in a grand leap out of the foliage!
Questions/Comments/Suggestions? I thought Huntress’ Call would be a cool and interesting thing to give Kiara. Gave it very high limitations, but I can go either way with it, so just say if you want me to omit it.
Trust me, I’ll be using tooth-and-claw more than any powers she might have. Though, I could make use of Roar of the Pride; after all, what kind of Princess of Pride Rock/Daughter of Simba wouldn’t have such an attack?
