In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

Okay, with the new skin, I've had to edit my signature images to fit with the new layout, that way they avoid page stretching. Here, I've been having my signature be exactly as long as line separating posts and signatures when there is no page stretch. According to my screen ruler, that size target I needed to hit was 530 pixels wide total (it was 730 in 4.0, which is why I had to edit my images). There was NO WAY I could shorten the width of my images by 100 pixels and have them look decent, so instead I went with a new design, one that was 530x50 as opposed to the prior 365x100. In otherwords, the height would be halved so that the images wouldn't be too big, and the length of the images would be equal to that "signature separation line".
Took a couple of hours, but I finally fixed it, uploaded the images to tinypic, then went and swapped out the pics in my sig.
Upon refresh... it looked WAY off. In fact, according to my screen ruler, it was scaled down so that the width was 505 pixels wide...
Which confuses me. It seems fine in my profile page, but when I go to my posts, it looks off, and some of the text is harder to read due to the resizing. I could understand limiting the width, I'm all for that... however... using the width 530 would make more sense in this layout. That way a single image can be as long as it can be without stretching the page.
The other option, of course, is to actually show people what the signature limits are, for as of now I've not been able to find out what the limits on the size of images in the signature is.
Edit: Uggh, even IF you don't keep it from resizing, could you at least not have it open up the full-sized image in a new window?
Huh, I'll give it a try, but it never had this problem before. If it IS tinypic, though, then I'll be in full agreement with you in not liking that site.
Edit: Ugg, doesn't seem to work. I'll post the code for it, tell me if you see any mistakes? Of course, increasing the character limit for siggies would help alot, that way I could just post the photobucket links directly...
I must say, though, the reason I think it's the forum doing it was because the images were normal size in my profile, but were reduced in size in the actual signatures following my posts... and now I've lost my tiny pic links... It's not a total loss, though, I finally found an image I've been looking for for a while that I want to put in there, so I'll be working on the images again in the meantime.
And hey... ever just thought of using one image? I mean... put all your profiles into one link like so many of us've done? >> Then you can post the direct PB link
Hey, Yuffie, do you know what the image limits are, so that I know in the future not to break them? I know now that the Horizontal limit is 505 pixels, but what's the vertical limit, so I can keep it in mind? The only reason I'm complaining is because I didn't know the limit, so two hours of work kinda just became pointless. Shortening the images is easy, though, so I'll just keep the limit in mind when I edit the pics.
Edit: Ah, have you seen my profiles? I go in depth with each character, and the final ones have multiple posts. That's why the profiles are separate, so I can add info if needed.
Ah, so you don't know the actual limit? I can make a ridiculously tall image and take my screen ruler to it to check for the actual number if you want, that way you can post it in the future.
The horizontal value seems to be 505 pixels max, but just to be safe, let's say 500 is the max width of images on the site.
EDIT: Holy-- Well, so far, 500 tall seems perfectly fine. I'll try to make it taller...
EDIT 2: Wow, 500x500 is the absolute limit. Anything larger either way will be resized.
Oh, no, I have no problem with the resizing. I just would have liked a heads up, a place where it mentions what the size limits are. It wasn't in the rules, I'd checked, and nobody knew what it was when I'd asked before, so I wound up finding out before hand. But I approve of the image resizing so long as you let people know what those size limits are so that they can plan with those in mind. ^-^
