In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

A chill ran through Malum's spine with each step he made. Each one bringing him a little closer to the icy tower before him. The snow was thick here and he could barely see his shoes within it. The snow and ice were in stark contrast to the midnight and if it weren't for flecks of white coating him, Malum would be almost invisible. About 15 ft away from the tower, Malum tilted his head up as he examined it. He couldn't be certain but Malum felt he may find why Traverse had it's somewhat recent change of whether.
Unbeknownst to Malum though, this was Charn, The White Witch's throne and monument and was dangerous for those who's curiosity got the better of them. Malum took several steps closer, still examining the tower. Walking up to the one of the sides he placed his hand on it but quickly took it away as the chill it left was enough to leave his finger tips blue. He continued to move around the base, not daring to step inside without looking for possible second entrances or exits.
"Fatal fascination breeds a bloom of misery, or something to that thought," Malum said, talking to himself, thinking there couldn't be anyone listening.
Stopping in front of the tower, his search to no avail, Malum closed his eyes for a moment, seeing if he could hear anything around him, though the only thing that spoke was the chill breeze, snow swimming across itself around him. He approached the door cautiously, his heart beating quickly and as he came to a stop he lifted his arm, rapping his knuckles against it, somewhat hoping no one would answer.
A dark green eyes snapped upon at the soft sound; when it came to her own house or better yet this world she had embedded herself with, her senses were like a hound. The slightest sound would be an agitating disturbance. A slick brow furrowed wondering who an earth would decide to trot up to Charn in this time of day. Despite blanketing the world in her protection, she had obtained infamy amongst some of the people; not many appreciated the winters that came with her guard. Fortunately for her, they could be easily silenced; none of those slackers came forth to even protect their own world. So if anything than should be bloody grateful and showed bestow her gratitude. Once being a queen, a ruler, an empress, she hardly had a bone in her body to seek out acceptance of others. One may call it arrogance to over-look them, but with her age and power it came with a sense of superiority. This only intrigued her more towards the stranger at her door.
The Lady of Traverse was sitting in her chambers; given her tastes it was expected everything to be pale white; marble floors made her room even chillier, but the snow white fur rugs and comforter did give a homey warmth. The bed was obviously forged with ice; even the walls seemed to have an icy translucent decor at every corner as well as the threshold of the door. There was one window in her room leading out to a balcony. She made frequent use of the balcony when she lived in the nearby Inn in the Second District.
The wolves outsider her door in the hall rose up with a questioning glance. One head was tilted in curiosity with a twitch of his ears noticing his mistress hesitation. They felt ignored as she strolled pass the door in her stardust dress. They had to peak in to see what she was doing. For a woman who had a cold heart, she had odd tendencies such as: marveling at a mere snow globe that sat next to her vanity mirror. It was a gift to another whom she may never see again, "How fragile life could be..."
With a whimper, the canines finally emitted a response out of her; she snorted without concern, while her eyes rolled back in annoyance, "Leave him be and let him enter. Be sure to be out of sight. If he came this far surely he can seek me out himself."
Gracefully, she waved her hand in a sweeping arc and a small gust traveled throughout the castle. It reached the door giving the knob a gentle turn permitting the door to slowly be ajar.

Malum sighed as he saw no sign of the door opening and turned around, starting to walk back the way he came when he heard a soft creak. Looking behind him he saw the door slightly ajar. Turning around once more he approached carefully, unsure if anyone was there. He took a peek through the crack in the door and saw no one. While Malum was not one to believe in spirits and ghosts, the door seeming as if to open on it's own left a chill in his spine. Steeling his resolve he gripped the handle and pulled the door further as he gazed at the citadel's interior.
"Wow..." His voice only just above a whisper. The pristine and regal interior was quite out of place in Traverse Town, and he felt quite out of place in the room as well. Malum shut the door behind him as he took several steps further in, trying to note anything of suspicion in it. He could find nothing though, aside from the chill, though even that had nearly vanished after stepping inside.
"Hello?" Malum said, hoping for a response, though there was none to be found. He couldn't possibly believe that such a place was abandoned but from what he could see and hear, that was the case. Malum started to wander about Charn, hoping to find something of interest, or whoever inhabited the icy castle. After spending a short time searching he saw a door, ever so slightly cracked open. He approached it cautiously, his body almost shaking in fear and anticipation.
"Hello?" He repeated as he knocked softly on the door, not wanting to open it all the way on accident. He felt a presence on the other side, one that seemed to dwarf his own and Malum was already starting to think of leaving, immediately.
"A little lost bird as finally found his way. Have you found the pond you seek or are you still looking for your flock?" A voice cooly replied Sitting by a vanity mirror was a giantess; with her sleek limbs she marveled of a skinny tree, but as always looks could be deceiving. Despite the un-lively paleness of her skin, she was far from sickly; her eyes still held a vigor of vitality. Her hair was a pale yellow like wheat; this time it was bound in a high ponytail, while dressed in a stardust night gown with her robe swaying open. She didn't bother to doll herself up for company; this was her house.
A pair of wolves turned the corner of the hallway he stood in and emitted a low grumble. Her canines stood out from the rest of the castle with their charcoal brown shaggy pelt. They didn't move any further as the squatted down to sit, and one went further to laying down passively before lolling out its tongue in a yawn. For a lax pair, they still were far from pets just guards doing their usual routine, "You've already walked through the front door, so don't be a stranger now."
Malum stumbled back as he heard the voice, startled at finally hearing someone in return. He then heard the soft shuffling of feet, this time off to the side where he had entered from. It was a pair of wolves, sticking out almost as much he did. He started to regret even entering Charn, and tried to think up a plan of escape immediately. That is if the wolves barely seemed to acknowledge his presence, one even let out a yawn. Keeping his eyes on them he slowly shuffled to the door.
At the voice's beckoning he opened the door, taking only several steps in. His attention was immediately drawn to a woman in a chair, towering over him even while sitting. Asking for his name he gathered what little resolve he could muster. "M-malum Nihil mam," He managed to stutter out. Trying to remember all his manners he gave a slight bow, not wanting to appear disrespectful.
"This may be a stupid question, but are you the Master of this castle?" Malum could already guess that she said yes but there's always the chance he could be wrong. He took a short look around and much like the other rooms, this room possessed the same feeling of royalty as the others but he couldn't help but feel a small sense of comfort.
She hummed curiously before folding a leg over an other. She looked him over with a general sweep of her eyes; the witch wasn't surprised to see a mere child before her. He was young in multiple ways; he dressed like a scholar and yet knew hardly anything about her to even identify her. She drew the conclusion that the world had a new lost sheep in the herd. From that perspective, Jadis could guess in regards to what the boy wanted, but she preferred hearing it from the horse's mouth.
"So I take it you haven't met the Master yet...overall overseer of Traverse Town," there was a small miniature cushioned table at the end of the bed. With an usher of her fingers it slid across the marble in front of her, "Sit. So you never met 'em so what is your business here?"
Her eyes flicked over to a capsule sitting by her vanity mirror on the iced tabled. With a pop of its top and a few drops, a pair of tea cups blossomed. Her free hand gestured him to indulge himself, "I must admit there aren't many visitors here let alone curious souls to venture.
Overall overseer of Traverse Town? Within a second of her saying that, Malum's brain would have seemed to light up like a stadium. Questions bounced around in his head, though he could only keep quiet as he tried to make what sense he could. It was with very little doubt in his mind that the woman was the cause of the wintry winds that now hung over the town, but surely there'd have to be a reason. And was that reason for the good of the world, or her own selfishness. He wouldn't dare ask that though, not out of respect, but for fear of what consequences it would bring.
"No, in truth, I didn't even know someone was watching over this world..." Malum said, exasperated mentally from how often he had to figuratively bite his tongue to avoid saying anything rude or upsetting her. With what seemed like magic a table which had been off to the side seemed to move on it's own. When beckoned to take a seat, he did so, neither slowly nor with haste. He at least had an answer to why the door had opened on it's own earlier.
"Why I'm here? Well, I have been here for..." Malum started to speak but then realized he had no idea how long he'd been on this world, as it was nearly impossible to tell time here, the days often bleeding into others. "Guess I can't remember when I got here... but for the first month or so, there was no precipitation here; just a dark sky, littered with stars. Since then though, well you probably know where I'm going with this, but I was curious as to why there was such a drastic weather change and I felt this castle may hold the answer."
What he saw next really could only be described as magic, something he had lacked any belief in as well. But what else could one call forming not only tea, but the cups themselves with nothing but a drop or two of liquid. Even for Malum that was very abnormal. As she gestured for him to drink he took a sip; it was wonderful. "Thank you very much." Malum said, bowing his head slightly in appreciation.
"No visitors, that's rather surprising. I mean with such a structure, I'm surprised people aren't gathered here everyday, even if just to admire it." Malum was rather shocked though and felt a sense of dread, perhaps the reason they didn't approach was because of the very woman sitting across from him? He sipped at his tea, trying his hardest to not shake.
"For someone who's been here long enough, you know so little; unfortunately that's not surprising. This world isn't well known for intricate networking. People come and go rather easily and quickly; one can say it's one of the consistent inconsistencies this world has," that was part of the reason why she had to act the way she had. None of these common-folk cared to defend this world or felt overall hopeless. When she summoned people to attend to Charn, she had more people seeking self-gain rather than being apart of a community to help this meek star that dangled around darkness and light.
"As for the drastic changes, it's a side effect of the Master of Charn. To oversee the world, the Master had to be in-tuned with it; with such connections bridge, you can essentially say the pair mingled together. In exchange for having eyes practically everywhere, the world was introduced to winters." Her lithe fingers curled around the delicate ceramic handle before sipping a spot of tea, "If you haven't noticed the heartless greatly diminished; little pop up left and right, yet it all came to a price of adapting to the cold. Not many wander out for too long, so not many stop by here."
"No matter, we are built to evolve, correct?" Taking another sip, her sharp green eyes watched his every move as if he was the only other living thing that existed.
Malum started to open his mouth to speak up but shut it not half a second later. Another mental check note crossed itself off though, he had always half wondered why despite the constant income of people who were lucky enough to survive the parting of their world, this world hadn't flooded over. He continued to think this over but a very important question rose to his mind immediately.
"Wait, so are you saying there's a way to go to travel to the other worlds? I mean, I know travel is possible, or else how would I even be here having this conversation? I guess I should be asking, there's a way to go to another world without destroying the current one?" Malum's anticipation was thick enough to cut through. It's not that he wished to leave, quite the opposite as despite the weather, he like Traverse Town, much more than his original world.
Eyes everywhere? Malum visibly shivered, and his cheeks had reddened somewhat in embarrassment. Trying to cover this up he averted his gaze slightly as he took another drink of his tea. Though with that he had obtained the answer he was looking for, despite that there was obviously a lot more for him to learn here. He still didn't know as to why she did such a thing. Gathering his courage he tried to phrase his next question delicately. "So... why did you connect yourself to this world?"
Evolution... it was a rather touchy subject for Malum. If it weren't for it he wouldn't even exist. But it was because the people on his world evolved that he couldn't live a normal life like them. "I suppose, but it's not always a good thing to change, I mean what if that change hurts someone, or causes a great amount of strife and sadness. Is it worth it then?"
Jadis snorted in amusement and looked at the boy incredulously, "Of-course there are ways to traverse. The most reliable is by gummi ship, a craft made by this disturbance of world order. After all at one point the worlds didn't knew the others existed. World Order prevented us from just landing in on one another. With those who knows way of magick will tell you Realm of Darkness is another route, but it isn't safe for the faint of heart. You step in and you may not come out as you were; you can become a heartless or worse...your own heart would be devoured."
"And with what I told you, it would be obvious why I linked with this world," with her sips here and there, her cup was empty. It clinked lightly on the table, then she gave the lad her undivided attention, "this world like all the others are vulnerable...exposed. Many probably like your own has fallen due to heartless. Multiple times this world been threatened and without I...you wouldn't be sitting her before me."
"Fortunately here I happened to meet some promising individuals, Guardians of the Worlds; while they took the initiative to stand up for the feeble, they couldn't stay here forever. Their bravery and chivalry didn't leave much of a legacy here; not many who just pass days by just to live...oppose against these dark matters. So with their blessing, I linked with this world."
Looking out her window, she could see a league of evergreen trees, and a few lamp posts of the Old Traverse Town sparkled here and there, "The cosmos won't be kind and with the tides rolling how they are...change is inevitable. It all depends on what you do with it."
