Name: Isamu Hotishi
Nickname: 'Sammie'
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Position: Neutral
Powers/Abilities/Techniques/Skills: Isamu's magical abilities are extremely limited and only has the natural MP to use of of the below spells every 20 posts:
Cure: Can heal small wounds or bruising, ie) A sprained ankle. Cannot heal deep or infected wounds or broken bones.
Illusions: Isamu can create a phantom image of objects and project this for about 4 posts at the most. The more the object has to move and the size of the object greatly effects this time limit. The mirages are just optical and can be past threw and cannot speak. He is constantly trying to improve on these limitations.
Weapon/Items: The small rodent sized monkey
Chichi has deceptively sharp teeth and claws, as well as being surprisingly fast. Though naturally docile in nature, when feeling threatened the small monkey can definitely defend itself, using the prehensile limbs on its back to distract and confuse. It got its name from a combination of the Godess of Peace's name Chinchai and the chattering noise that the Pawiera makes.
Isamu has very fast hands and when this is paired with the sharp dagger at his waist, they can turn deadly. The dagger has an aqua blue handle encrusted with small blue jewels around the base. With a typical steel blade the sharp end is nothing special. The jewels can hold small amount of energy (the equivalent of about an hours slow jog), and can come in handy if Isamu needs a sudden burst of energy as the stored energy can only be used in one go, not over time.
Has a small wooden flute that he plays to drum up some munny and is quite skilful at. The flute has vines carved into its length.
Picture:Appearance: Though his hair is not particularly long, Isamu wears a blue patterned bandanna across his forehead, which pushes his amber coloured hair up a good couple of feet from his skull. The hair tends to flop to one side or the other and Isamu just let's it, as long as it doesn't fall into his golden eyes he does not mind. His left ear is pierced with a simple golden hoop on his upper ear.
He stands at a reasonable height of 5''9 and ways around 156lbs, not that he has weighed or measured himself recently. He also tends to prefer baggy clothing so it's not easy to guess his weight. Despite his preference he is actually very in shape, with reasonably muscled arms and legs and with a defined chest. He doesn't particularly work out but his constant travelling means that he keeps himself in shape.
Other than the aqua blue wave patterned bandanna across his forehead, Isamu is clothed in a high collared outer jacket which covers his chin and mouth, however, he usually wears this unbuttoned at the bottom to allow better movement as the jacket reaches nearly to the ground. The jacket has a bottom trim in the same pattern and colour as his bandanna.
Underneath this beige jacket he wears simple black trousers and a reasonably tight sleeveless black shirt. On his feet he wears a pare of comfortable travel worn black boots. Around his waist Isamu wears a dark leather belt where he stashes his trusty dagger in its plain looking hilt.
Chichi usually either rides on Isamu's shoulder, hidden underneath the flowing jacket, or sleeping in the drawstring canvas bag the traveller is never seen without. It is in this bag that Isamu stores the rest of his meagre belongings, such as his flute, tent and any munny or food he has on him at the time.
Personality: Though always up for a laugh, Isamu has an aura around him that seems to attract people. Warm and smiling, he loves to talk to people about what he has seen on his travels and in return learning about what's new in town. Despite this, he is quite secretive when it comes to himself, often guiding the subject onto some new piece of gossip or a knowing smile. This seems only to add to his air of mystery and in turn more questions. All in all he is very patient, though he won't stand fools lightly ... unless they have something of value, such as important information or a warm bed for the night.
A little bit of a swindler, he doesn't think twice about taking advantage of a situation for his benefit. However, he refuses to take money or food off of people who cannot afford it.
A story-teller at heart, Isamu has told many a tale of his journeys, tales that only get more embellished the more and more he tells them. When not speaking, he can often be found playing his small wooden flute or playing with his 'travelling partner' Chichi.
When left alone, Isamu can get very moody, often resulting in him talking to himself or Chichi. His biggest fear would be total isolation, though he can cope with being on his own for large periods of time as long as he is heading towards a goal. Though incredibly curious, which has resulted in a fare few scrapes, anything that Isamu can't talk himself out of, Heartless rarely wait to listen, he relies on the few tricks he has picked up over the years.
Original World: Marji- Mountainous world that is quite wary of technology
Current World: Radiant Garden
History: Marji Marji is a relatively small world covered almost entirely by large mountain ranges and patches of intense forest. Over time small villages have sprung up dotted about the mountainside, none usually with a population over 300 people. Due to the terrain, people living in Marji tend to gain a great respect of nature and are relatively hearty in nature. Large festivals have sprung up to celebrate the different seasons, with Summer being the main event.
The largest village,Zanpt, is located at the foot of one of the great mountains, allowing it to expand more than some of the more isolated villages further up the mountain. It is here that the Summer festival takes place, with singing, storytelling and displays of magic, as well as the trading of important supplies for the smaller villages. If Marji can be said to have a capital 'city', Zanpt would be one of the best bets.
Though isolated from each other, the villages communicate via fire signals to each other. However, once the Heartless turned up this isolation, previously celebrated, became their greatest downfall. Unable to signal for help in time, whole villages were wiped out before neighbouring villages could arrive on the scene. Not to say that the villages were defenceless, most of the largest villages had at least one mage and children are taught to protect themselves with a dagger from a young age. Despite this, they were overwhelmed by the constantly growing Heartless populations, thousands of surviving villagers, moving to Zanpt in order for protection.
Isamu's family was one of these refugees. He, his mother, father and grandmother, packed up their few portable belongings and travelled the sizeable distance to the safety of Zanpt. At the age of 9, Isamu had to leave his home and help his family survive the harsh snowstorms, avalanches, and hungry wild beasts. If this time had any positive it was that Isamu learnt how to take care of himself in the wilderness.
On arrival in Zanpt Isamu and his family lacked the coin needed to build a respectable house, and so they continued to live in their large tent on the edge of the village. Isamu also could no longer afford to go to school, instead running whatever errands he was given in return for a few small coin which his family used for supplies. After a few years of this hard life his grandmother could no longer take the strain and was buried in the midst of a nearby forest with only a smooth stone to mark her grave. His grandmother had been the one to teach him the ability to awaken his simple magic, and how to summon illusions, and he often went to visit her grave spot when he wanted to be alone and too practice. It was as if he could still feel her presence, encouraging him onwards, it was if he could almost hear her voice coming from the jewelled dagger that she had given him on her deathbed. He had originally wanted to sell the dagger for the munny it would go for, but on his parent's pushing he decided to keep it. It had been a family heirloom and was all they had to remind themselves of their previous well off life before the Heartless.
The rest of his spare time was spent listening to the tales that the various other refuges and traders told. Learning the songs that they played on the small wooden pipe that his father had carved for him for his 8th birthday from the trees that grew outside their old village. Isamu soon found that he could earn a few coin by busking at the side of the road, whether they enjoyed the music or they just felt sorry for the young boy in the ragged clothing.
It was during one of his visits to his grandmother's grave that Isamu, some 4 years later, met one of his closest companions. He was practising making illusions of small objects such as the fruits he had gathered to bring home to his parents, when he heard a rustling from the bushes behind him. Instantly on the defensive, pulling his trusty dagger from his belt. Imagine his surprise when, instead of a blood thirsty beast, a small Pawiera blinking down at him from a branch overhead. Stunned by the presence of the naturally timid animal, Isamu froze to the spot. The Pawiera yawned, displaying its sharp teeth before chattering softly, eyes darting from Isamu to the ripe fruit in his hand.
It was rare to see a Pawiera all on its own, well it was rare to see them at all since the Heartless turned up. The beasts had previously been celebrated as messengers of the God of Peace Chinchai and so it was not exactly surprising that they had vanished a long with the peace. Knowing that he had gathered more than enough, Isamu was about to roll one of the gathered fruits towards the monkey when a blur of motions caught his eye. The Pawiera had grown tired of waiting and instead had chosen to help itself to the food on offer, gorging itself on the ripe fruit. Surprise was quickly overtaken by laughter at the sight of the tiny monkey stuffing itself with the fruit, covering itself in the juices. Saving the image to memory, Isamu prepared himself to leave and gather more fruits, however, the chattering sound arising from the Pawiera made him pause.
Tilting his head in confusion, the 15 year old tried to work out what it wanted. It had the food. The creature was gesturing towards the dagger Isamu still clutched in his hand. Seemingly frustrated with the boy's lack of understanding, in another burst of unseen movement, the Pawiera launched itself at Isamu, jumping onto his back, using its sharp claws to climb up onto his shoulder and then along the arm holding the dagger. Isamu froze, unsure what to do, frightened that any sudden movement would result in the monkey digging its needle-sharp teeth into his unprotected hand. However, it seemed that the beast was much more interested in the dagger itself, tiny hands pressing against the blue jewels encrusted in its handle. Chattering all the time, the Pawiera was entranced by the shiny gems, tail curled around Isamu's wrist.
Eventually, with its curiosity fulfilled, the monkey turned itself round to look up at Isamu himself. In all this time the teenager hadn't dared to move an inch in case he spooked the creature, but, and even to this day Isamu does not know what caused him to do this, he slowly reached forwards with his free hand, hovering above the Pawiera. In return the monkey reached forwards and placed his tiny paws either side of Isamu's ring finger, chattering happily.
[Time Skip of 3 months]The two made an unlikely pare, with the time Chichi didn't spend hidden in Isamu's pack, the monkey spent playing within the trees or along the boy's body.
When Isamu was 19th he could no longer hold off his urge to visit other worlds. His family had finally saved enough to build a small wooden house on the outskirts of the village, running a small shop from the front of the house, with Isamu and Chichi drumming up additional custom by performing from outside. Feeling that his parents no longer needed his help, Isamu explained to them his need to explore and after many long conversations and bitter arguments his parents agreed that it was for the best.
Leaving his village in order to head towards the other small villages further up the mountain, with his home village being his ultimate goal. The journey was difficult, with Isamu having to heavily rely on the resources he found along the way to feed himself and his 'travelling companion'. It was on this journey that he found out that all the stories of the traders had been true. The countryside truly had become overrun with the dark beings that had caused his family to evacuate all those years ago. On many occasions, Isamu had to fight off these strange beasts, often using his illusions to confuse them and make his escape .... until one day his luck ran out.
Having found no way to progress onwards but to scale a sheer rock face, the somewhat weary traveller, was slowly making his progress upwards. Chichi was jumping from ledge to ledge with ease, Isamu wished it was as easy for him. Too busy focusing where to put his feet, he didn't hear when the tiny monkey gave off a cry of alarm until it was too late. Two large clawed hangs grabbed a hold of his wrists, halting his progress. Acting out of instinct, Isamu sent the illusion of a pouncing cat at his attacker. It worked as a distraction his his wrists were freed, giving him time to pull himself fully onto the ledge.
What he saw there made his quickly beating heart still. It was a creature
army. He was outnumbered at least 20 to one. Chichi ran up the length of his body so that he was perched on Isamu's shoulder, baring his sharp teeth at the monsters ( Shadow Heartless). He drew his dagger from his belt just in time to counter and attack from one of the creatures, only for the beast to then sink into the ground, protected from his blows.
Despite his best efforts he was soon overwhelmed, the last thing he remembered was the shadowy claws heading towards his face. It was no consolation to know that he had taken out most of the monsters during his fight. When he next awoke, much to his surprise, he was in a bustling town (Radiant Garden), Chichi's bright eyes looking down worriedly at him.

Isamu often hitch hikes where he needs to go, using his charismatic nature in order to convince others to bring him with them. He often makes up for it in stories or musical performances accompanied with Chichi. The Traveller tends to turn up wherever there are large crowds of people or some sort of festival about to occur. Isamu is drawn to crowds as he loves company and learning about new and interesting cultures. He also delights in unique food recipes, living with the motto
'you've got to try everything at least once'. Isamu earns a living by putting on busking acts, playing his flute whilst Chichi 'dances' or putting on short shows with his illusions. He is also somewhat a trader, selling your usual potions or the occasional 'special item' if he can get his hands on one. Though he never has large stocks as he is unable to carry large loads.
