Appearance:
Pluto is a dog that bears a vague resemblance to a blood hound, particularly in his long, black, droopy ears. He has short, yellow fur and large, close-set eyes. He has three toes on each paw. Pluto's long tail is very thin and black, more closely resembling his master Mickey's tail than that of a dog. Thought he is not as anthropomorphic as the other Disney character though he does possess a face that expresses a normal range of emotions. Though he can not speak, he mostly communicates through body language, barks and howls. He is wearing a loose, green collar but every once and a while decides like he feels like red for the day.
Personality:
Generally a cheerful and adventurous dog, although he can be given to sheer panic when confronted with something unknown. When surprised it takes him a while to calm down. Curiosity often gets the better of him and ends up getting him in trouble. Another great quality is the faithfulness and loyalty he shows to his friends. He is known to show great bravery in times of trouble, willing to swallow his fear and do what needs to be done in times of need. If he every sees someone being abused or bullied he will try to stop it immediately. Finally, as most dogs, the way to his heart is food, though sometimes it doesn't help if he knows enough about you. A major issue that does come up and can be is Pluto's great hatred for cats.

History:
Born to a bloodhound mother and a lab father, who wanted nothing to do with his puppies, Pluto was the pick of the litter. A prison guard had recently lost he own loyal companion and was on the look out for a new pet to fill the gap in his life. The prison guard picked Pluto, recognizing the usefulness of a good nose. Pluto's next few years were not happy ones, as the guard turned out to be a cruel man he only cared about results. After Pluto's training, his first mission was to find an escaped convict by the name of Mickey Mouse. After a long run around and some mischief Pluto decided that the kind convict was far superior to the cruel prison guard and since then Mickey became his new owner. He stuck with Mickey through his fight for innocence and afterward he became family. Mickey and his new pet were then inseparable. When Pluto was left to his own devices he did end up running into issues every now and then. Quite often, he was left with Minnie's cat, Figaro, which only cause Pluto to get himself into more trouble as his distaste for cats he made largely apparent. On some occasions he would damage Mickey's property but due to Mickey's kindheartedness and understanding Pluto was able to come out of his shell and not fear the heavy hand of an abusive owner. His skills were honed as a first class scent hound and watch dog while on adventures with Mickey and the gang. From that point on, Pluto's mischief became a thing of legend and the rest is history.
Role Playing Sample:
As Pluto pranced through the courtyard he realized that something seemed a bit different. The day had taken a sudden turn for the worse and what was a gorgeous blue sky only 2 minutes ago was now grey and cold. Pluto sniffed the wind, detecting a faint whiff of many passersby, his friends, and finally something new and strange. He tracked the new smell for a moment, nose in the air, tail poised at attention. The culprit of the new scent was a strange smudge on the cobblestone that he had not noticed before that day. As he inspected the smudge he was unaware of the impending danger lurking behind him.
Upon final inspection of smudge and satisfaction that it was not worth another 20 minutes he turned to see be startled by another smudge. As he approached, Pluto nearly jumped out of his skin when he saw the smudge move along the cobblestone ground. His first reaction was to spring behind the hedge but with great effort, Pluto stopped himself. Crouching low to the ground, he stalked the moving shadow, staying as far as possible without losing sight. The smudge seemed to to be heading towards the throne room and as this realization dawned on Pluto he realized he had to sound the alarm. With a great howl, Pluto lifted his nose to the sky. Immediately after his howl, the smudge stopped, turned with a purpose and headed straight towards Pluto.
Unfortunately, his howl went unwarranted. Where were the guards swarming to his aid? Why is the alarm bell not sounding? A feeling of dread came over Pluto as it hit him, he was alone. Realizing there was nothing left to do but stand his ground, Pluto left the safety of his shrubs and moved back out in the open to face the moving smudge. It had stayed in place as he had hidden, as if the spot of the cobblestones possessed some sort of intelligence. Hackles raised and growling at the mark, he stood his ground, waiting for it to make its move. To Pluto's horror, the shadow began to grow and contort and gain a 3rd dimension as it materialized itself.
Pluto knew he was outmatched and had no where to go. As the shadow finished materializing Pluto's "tough guy" act faulted as he lost hope. The shadow made a shrill shriek that cause Pluto to cringe. In response to the cry more shadows leaked into the room surrounding and materializing around Pluto's now cowering and whimpering form. As the shadow's closed on him, Pluto let out one last howl.
Pluto woke with a start to find Mickey and Minnie staring at him with concerned. Mickey asked, "You doing OK Pluto?" Gathering himself, Pluto nodded and lay his head back down to continue his nap, hopefully without anymore terrible dreams.
