Name:Taiaz Urson (tie-AZ Ur-Sahn)
Nickname: n/a
Age : 17
Gender: Male
Species: Druid (One type of hume with magical capabilities on his home world)
Position: Good
Powers:
Blessing of Nature (Cura): A potent healing spell, Taiaz raises his staff upright above his head, causing a green leaf rune character to appear Taiaz then utters the incatation “Verisara” causing the rune leaf to explode, the magical dust surrounding its target.
The spell is powerful enough to heal skin deep cuts of all sizes, small broken bones (fingers, toes, etc.), almost all common maladies (colds, stomach aches, and headaches), minor second degree burns, and most common poisons (e.g. Animal induced toxins). Takes two post to recharge, and can only affect one friend.
Druid’s Shield: A basic protective spell, Taiaz raises his hand and causes a platinum kite shield rune character to appear, and says “Contega.” The rune fades, but then reappears instantaneously in front of the target and becomes a solid enthrall kite shield, expanding roughly to the size of a body pillow.
The shield will shatter no matter what hits it, but it will reflect weak magic (i.e. fire) and soften stronger attacks. The target is thrown back a bit after the shield shatters, and it takes one post to recharge the spell.
Druidic Familiar: Taiaz’s spirit animal, a female grizzly bear by the name of Artiona (ar-TEE-oh-nah) is always near him, whether in spirit or in familiar form. Taiaz summons Artiona into a physical form whenever a battle begins, she being his fighter.
The bear is capable of communicating through telepathy with the boy, due to the deep connection between the two. However, Artoina’s spirit shares the same life force as Taiaz, thus, if either dies, the other will fall. However, they both draw magical power from different places. (A separate profile will also be on this page)
Weapon: Taiaz wields a staff as his weapon to help focus his magic and make it more potent. The staff is made out of cedar wood, due to its specific magical properties and symbolism, and the staff itself is about 4’9” tall. The staff is unadorned, and is not at all smooth: It is basically a walking stick, carved straight from the tree.
Despite the presence of the staff, Taiaz mainly relies on Artiona to do the battling: He tries to play the support role, of healing and protecting.
Pic: N/A
Appearance: Taiaz’s choice of clothing is a two part robe , both parts pure white and made of cloth. There is no decoration on the robe, and a leather belt with a buckle made out of bone. Taiaz wears brown sandals, which, coincidentally, had been enchanted to never wear, or to ever give foot pains to its wearer. For accessories, Taiaz keeps an herb pouch on a sling around his back like a single strap backpack, the pouch about the size of a normal aluminum lunchbox.
Taiaz has darker green hair (He dies it with leaves and such), that is often shaped due to all the time he wears his hood. While his hood is down (Which is normally inside a building), the majority of the hair on the top is flattened with the occasional fuzz from the hood-hair. But near the front, Taiaz has grown the right side of his bangs long, a good chunk of it covering most of the eye itself, the tip of the extension reaching just above his right eye’s brown iris. The hair in the back reaches to above his neck, in which you can actually see traces of his natural brown hair.
The eyes of the young druid are a wooden hazel, occasional green spots being found, but the eyes filled with intelligence and playfulness. Taiaz does often smile, but no dimples are to be found on his face. His lips are surprisingly well moisturized, as well as his elbows; but he has long, dirty fingernails, due to all the time working with herbs and dirt. He also has a pale tattoo of a heart with a shield around it on his heart, in the exact same place his familiar’s spirit bond is.
He (Taiaz) is about 6 feet and 5 inches tall, weighing about 168 pounds. He is skinny, and a bit thinner than most humes, but what he lacks in strength he makes up for in agility.
Personality:
The druid Taiaz is a confusing person: He often acts sarcastic and tries to be funny or friendly, but is also very protective of his friends when threatened. Due to the fact his nature is protective, his strength focused on guarding what he cares for, whatever the cost, Taiaz’s spirit animal formed a grizzly bear.
Being a Druid, Taiaz is automatically engaged in nature, thus, he has much respect for it, and often does his best to remind others to thank nature whenever it is kind to them. As well as that, living in the wilderness has taught Taiaz many survival skills, such as herb and berry gathering, which plants are good for food, and which for poisons, good uses for materials from the forest, starting controllable fires, and many other facts.
Taiaz extremely likes quiet: Heck, he worships it, due to the fact he can go through all the thoughts in his expansive mind. Taiaz also is a big fan of herbs, whether collecting and gathering them, or using them with cooking . On that note, Taiaz is an omnivore: He will eat meat from DOMESTICATED animals (Taiaz finds them stupid and worthless descendants), but anything that still is a feral beast, you can forget about it. Taiaz tends to get quite uptight when he sees someone hunting a wild animal, and often goes to thoughts of ironic revenge.
As for dislikes, Taiaz despises irresponsible fires, hunters, and people who talk too much. Beings that toy with nature and end up getting hurt just outright annoy Taiaz, as well as bad cooks, and guess what; People who talk too much. Whenever faced with his dislikes or annoyances, Taiaz will often leave a snide and clever remark, though truly it’s infuriating him, and will go to work on solving the problem.
The druid has a Scottish accent. So of course, when most would say “Yes”, Taiaz would say “Aye”. Taiaz is also fluent in what is known as Latin, so there is some use there (those are the words he draws upon for power). But those who mock his accent will probably have hives from the toxic herb he slipped in their sandwich, and/or he’ll start going on a rant. He is very sensitive to his accent. But otherwise, Taiaz is a pretty happy guy.
Taiaz dreams of saving his home world, Celtia, after seeing it destroyed by the darkness. He loathes the darkness, and has vowed he will not let whatever is still precious to him be destroyed. He also wishes to learn to become a master Defensive Druid.
Original World: Celtia
Current World: Traverse Town
History:
Taiaz was raised his entire life in the world of Celtia. The entire world was a natural paradise, full of magical energies, spirits, magical beings; To Aizzack Lutras and Taiyah Pecora, it was the perfect place to raise their child. The parents were both druids, mages and protectors of nature, and intended their babe to follow in their footsteps.
He was born in late Summer, around the end of the hume month of July, and the name Taiaz was bestowed upon him due to customs of the druid’s.
The newborn had then been brought to the Spirit’s Dwelling, a form of rocks, similar to the Stone Henge, used by the druids of this world to decide the chosen animal guardian of the druid. When laid down in the center of the rocks, a nearby gate-way glowed, and out stepped a pure-white mother grizzly bear. The animal growled, but the child did not quiver in fear; instead, Taiaz made no fuss as the humongous spirit animal strode over to him, nuzzled him, and then disappeared in a swirling of runes. With his spirit animal chosen, Taiaz Urson’s fate was sealed, destined to become a protector.
As soon as he Taiaz was about five, his parents began teaching him about the lore of the Celtic Gods, the magic within life, and how to harness nature to his ability. While still learning his ABC’s, Taiaz was also learning about which berries were good to eat, and those dangerous for consumption.
By the age of seven, Taiaz knew his way around the forest, and would often ask to be tested on his knowledge by his father whenever the family was at home in their small cottage near the lake. The boy was curious, learning more and more each day about how a druid should act, react, and how to use nature’s bounty.
On his 10th birthday, Taiaz finally asked his parents if they would teach him to perform magic. Both laughing, they assured him in due time he would learn to use magic, and it was true: About five months later, in the frost of winter, Taiaz received a cedar staff as a present for Yuletide, a holiday similar to Christmas. “With this staff, you’ll now be able to harness and manipulate magic. I think we can probably get started tomorrow!” Promised Aizzack. Taiaz, joking, replyied, “If I’ll be able to carry this thing. It’s huge!”
But as his father promised, Taiaz began to train in the ways of protective magic. He first began by going to the Spirits dwelling, as instructed, and called out to his spirit animal “Fortis ferre auxilium meum intende. Esto robur meum, et ego protector tuus sicut una (Mighty bear, come to my aid. Be my strength, and I be your shield, together as one)” And suddenly, a life sized, grizzly bear with startling green eyes stepped out from the columns of the rocks.
“I have been watching you Taiaz; I am your spirit familiar, Artiona, and you have now awakened me, and yourself as a true druid. I hope we will be able to become best friends.” The great mammal spoke with a female voice, the friendly voice also touched with a Scottish accent. Taiaz replied, “This is amazing; Your beautiful.” And with that strode over to the bear and hugged her, “And we’re already friends: You know my name and I know yours.”
Ancient runes then circled the bear, and she became ghostly white, her eyes staying green however. His father later explained that she had entered a spirit form, as to allow for easier travel and not to scare people with a bear walking right beside Taiaz (after all: not everyone on Celtia was a druid)
For the next seven years, Taiaz trained in the art of Moene magic (Defensive magic), learning to heal and shield his loved ones. But he also had trained with Artiona, learning her fighting style so they could both benefit from each other’s specialties; Taiaz, knowing his healing herbs and magic, Artiona, with her strength, wisdom, compassion, and instinct.
These skills were needed when the “Shadow Beings” caused Ragnarok. Taiaz and Artiona had been strolling through a nearby hume town when the boy stopped and saw a sight that would forever haunt him: A young girl, a villager Taiaz knew well, was strolling along the path when these shadow came up from the ground: They moved like insects, their appearance like a pure black monkey with claws and antennae. Except for the eyes; the yellow piercing eyes showed no emotion. The girl could not even scream before they were upon her, and she instantly disappeared. The shadow beings rounded on Taiaz, and he summoned Artiona to protect him.
The great bear ravaged the beings, they dispersing as soon as they came, and Taiaz, with a heavy heart, shed a few tears and apologized, “I’m sorry Rose: May we meet again as spirits.” But his sorrow was not to last: A huge vortex appeared in the sky, dark clouds covering every inch of the expanse. Artiona, through telepathy, told Taiaz, “Ragnarok! Taiaz, you must try and escape to the spirit realm if you are to survive!”
Too worried to retort with humor, Taiaz made a dash for the Spirit’s Dwelling. Every so often, he would shout, “Contega!” To protect someone or himself from an assault from the shadow beings: They had now begun augmenting in number, and the world itself was being torn, seam from seam.
Finally, Taiaz reached the structure, and Artiona encouraged, “We’ve made it!” And she stepped to the door way she had once come out, but then the shadow beings appeared once again, and they toppled the stone monument. “ARTIONA!” Taiaz cried; The beast was being overwhelmed by the shadows. He knocked some aside with his staff, and then had a glimmer of hope: He saw a portal in-between two of the fallen stones.
“Artiona! Pull it together! That’s our ticket out!” The boy said pointing at the dark gateway. Though having an uneasy feeling towards the portal, the familiar and the boy dashed through the portal. And then they were falling… falling through the darkness as their beautiful world, Celtia, winked out of exsistence. “I promise… I’ll save you Celtia” Taiaz promised before he passed out as the duo fell into the unknown…
