Name: Princes Hubert, Harris, and Hamish of Clan DunBroch
Nicknames: The Triplets, Boys, "Wee Devils"
Age: 7 for each
Gender: All Male
Species: Devils Humans
Position: Chaotic Neutral. They all do what they want when they want to.
Powers/Abilities/Techniques/Skills: Their only ability (aside from getting themselves into trouble) is their innate outlook on the environment. They can easily look about their environment and see different paths and hidden secrets, often exploiting them to get what they want. They're also really good with teamwork, possessing a wonderful "Triplet Telepathy". They can practically talk to each other without actually needing to. But they don't possess any particular magical powers or abilities with weapons.
The spell that came from the cake that they ate, however, offers them an unpredictable ability. Due to the nature of the cake turning them into bear cubs, at random times, this spell takes effect again. There is no predicting when this will happen, but every once in awhile they transform back into their bear cub form. And just as randomly, they return to their human forms once more. But, because of the distance from here and their homeworld, they don't have to worry about the permanent effect. It's an unstable spell at the moment which is why the nature of it is so random.
Weapon/Items: Nothing but their own mischievous nature and the clothes on their backs (Which sometimes aren't even present). They know how to, sort of, use swords and clubs, but do not have any.
When the Witch's spell hits them, they gain short claws on their hands and feet that they can use as weapons, as well as sharper teeth.
Picture: Appearance: The triplets look exactly the same, having been born identical. They have the same bright red, curly hair to match their sister. Being young, they don't stand up very tall, standing at just under three feet. Their clothing is a more basic form of their fathers. It consists of two Green shirts, one short sleeve and one long sleeve. The Short sleeve ones are lighter than the other. They also have a plaid kilt that is held in place by a rather large belt for their bodies. Lastly, they have brown shoes to run around on, something they are very quick to do.
Their eyes are blue, another trait that shows their sibling resemblance to Merida. They usually have a mischievous smile on their face. Their skin is rather white, but that comes from moving around the secret passages of their family's castle. They knew how to get from room to room without letting on where they were. It was how they avoided trouble all the time.
When the Witch's spell hits them, the three turn into Identical bear cubs. Their fur is black, except around the eyes where there is a distinct lighter colored ring around them. Their bright blue eyes can still be seen, a sign that they still have their minds about them. And unlike most bears, they are capable of walking on two feet.
Personality: The triplets definitely know how to get themselves into trouble, and often push themselves more to do so. It was always seen as a challenge to them to see just how much they could get away with. Their mother was always too busy training Merida that they never had to worry about her scolding them. And their father, who would yell at them from time to time, usually got distracted for one reason or another.
Their biggest concern is the nursemaid, Maudie. She was the one who always scolded them. But even then, they would still get away with it. The triplets always hung out together, never leaving each other's side. Even when they turned into bear cubs, they still stuck together. They love their family, but they love torturing them just a little bit more. Especially their sister. They tease her because she has to go through all the Princess training while they can roam free and enjoy themselves. Its what they do best after all. Each individual ones have their own quirks. Despite being Triplets, they all still act differently.
Harris is the one who leads the other two. He's the technical oldest of the three and is usually the one who plans out their schemes. Sometimes they aren't perfect, but he's the one in the middle, the one taking care of all the planning aspects, and usually the one to take the most treats.
Hubert is much more reserved. He's a slight bit lazier than the others, but still plays along with their schemes. Strangely enough, though, he's the one who will tell Harris about problems with his plans and offer a suggestion. He was also the first to discover the Castle's secret passages.
Lastly, Hammish is the most scared. He's usually laughed at by the other two, even though all three love each other a lot. At the same time, he'll be the first to dive into things head first, forgetting about his scared nature. And then when the going gets tough, he'll be the first one to run away scared.
Original World: Scottish Highlands
Current World: Traverse Town
Movie/Video Game(s): Disney-Pixar's Brave (2012)
History: The kingdom that the Princes were born in was one ruled by their clan. Their father was the king, their mother the Queen. But when they were born seven years ago, their mother wasn't expecting Triplets. She knew that when she was pregnant, it felt heavier than when she was Pregnant with Merida. When she gave birth to the Triplets, they all looked the exact same. And their names were given. Hubert, Harris, and Hammish of Clan DunBroch.
The years continued on and it was quickly clear to the Nursemaid, Maudie, that these boys were troublemakers. They were always sneaking away from what they were supposed to do and never listening to anything she had to say. Their favorite thing to do? Steal tarts and other delicious baked goods. It caused them to start gaining a belly, much like their father. But considering it was always split between the three of them, it didn't grow too fast.
When Merida was Sixteen, they were still up to no good. They were listening to a story they had heard hundreds of times when Merida came in and interrupted. As she told the ending of the story, they seemed to be much more interested. But as they sat there, their mother scolding Merida a little, she slipped them a plate of tarts, one thing they slid out of their own chair to get.
When their mother was about to talk about the suitors from the other clans coming, they get excused from the table after having tied their father's leg to the table. They take the tarts, or most of them at least, and leave the dining hall as quickly as possible.
Later on, when the suitors arrive and a fight breaks out, the triplets use their knowledge of the castle's secret passageways to cause the fight to continue even more after the king had stopped it. It took the queen grabbing the lords themselves to actually stop the fighting once and for all. And the boys were none the wiser, happy to have gotten away with something once more.
As the test to see who would take Merida's hand in marriage went on, they continued tormenting Maudie by stealing yet another plate of tarts. They ate the food within the secret passages where they encountered the shadow creatures. It was the fighting of the four families that caused them to arrive. The boys thought they were cool at first until they started to multiply. The boys ran as fast as they could, arriving in the trophy room.
Thinking it would be cool to build some super monster with all the different trophy heads that their father had collected, they started assembling it. That is, until their mother, in the form of a bear came in and had them stop and put everything back. Merida came in after and explained that she needed their help in getting out of the castle. After a bit of bargaining, the boys helped them out.
Hubert and Harris played the part of a fake bear, which included one using a shadow of a turkey to play the part of the bear, while the other roared into an urn to make it seem like it was a Bear roaring. The used the hidden passages throughout the castle to escape being found out until leading the raving men up to the top of the tower and locking them out there.
Meanwhile, Hammish led Merida and their mother through the castle and kept a close eye. Hubert returned with the turkey on his head to scare away those in the kitchen. Once there, the two were able to escape with Merida telling the boys to enjoy what they wanted to in the kitchen. It was then that they found the cursed cake and gobbled it up.
All three soon turned into bear cubs, something that was realized by Merida when she was locked in the Tapestry room after her mother escaped the rampage of her father. The triplets helped get the key back before helping get Merida out of the castle and to the standing stones. But it was there that tragedy struck. The shadow creatures from before appeared with Mor'du.
Darkness soon filled the lands and the triplets found themselves on a strange world. The rest of their family was missing and the kids were unsure of what to do next. They quickly hid in a secret passage, discussing their next move. Little did they know that the spell that had cursed them was still present. That they hadn't avoided their bear problem quite yet.
As time continued to pass once they had arrived in the strange new town, they noticed that the spell really had no rhyme or reason for them. It changed them at random, though they had gotten used to the little bout of pain that came along with it. They mostly kept in hiding, taking what they needed when they needed it. They didn't really know much about stealing, or that it was what it was called. They were Princes and were used to everything being handed to them on a silver platter.
The months continued on and the three never heard of their family. They would occasionally ask those who passed by if they heard of those names, or describing the members of their family in order to try and gain some sort of a clue. But no one ever knew anything. And within an instant, the boys were back in hiding. They would pop out and use their expert tactics to steal the food and water they needed, still not knowing that it was truly wrong. But they were hungry and thirsty. They lived within the tunnels, keeping to themselves unless asking for a possible clue.
But finally, they got some semblance of hope. A strange crystal that others have talked about appearing from the local creatures with fuzzballs on their heads. Some called it the "Mog-Net" and they had no idea what it was. They decided to go and check it out one day. It was said that it helped to lead to other worlds, something that they hoped might bring them home, or at the very least, lead them to their family... That is, if they weren't trapped in the darkness. The three knew they would have to work together now more than ever. Especially if they left the comfort of the tunnels they mapped out around Traverse Town.
They did know that they wanted to return here though. Sure, it was a little chilly, but they were used to the cold in the Scottish Highlands. It usually got cold in the autumn and winter months. And it was safe. They had wandered most of the city for quite some time and noticed the lack of the strange Shadow Creatures. The three still wanted to find out more about them and hoped that when they ventured to a new world, they would be able to find the answers they sought.
Role Playing Sample: Within the town of Traverse Town, the triplets found themselves looking around, speechless. The townspeople saw them, what few there were, but said nothing to them. None of this looked like the wooded area of the Scottish highlands and for the first time that they could remember... They were scared. But suddenly, Hammish started searching the terrain. He found a secret passage hidden beneath one of the stones in the street. The three boys slipped inside to discuss their next move.
"Wh-Where are we?" Hammish said, looking at his brothers. As far as timing goes, Hubert was technically the youngest.
"I don't know but... I'm a little scared." Answered Hammish, the Middle child.
"Pull yourselves together, guys. We can figure this out. Have we let anything stop us before?" Harris said, the technical oldest of the group, and always the leader in their pranks. The other two nodded in response as they started wandering the passages. They each figured if they could find out where they led, they would at least know how to get around this strange town.
But Harris came across a note that he took back to the others. It read 'If you've found this passage, use it! But don't tell anyone. Its our little secret. CMJ.' The boys had no idea who 'CMJ' was, but they had dug these passages for the small boys to use.
"First... find the family."
"Second... find CMJ to thank for this."
"And third... Get back home!"
They all cheered as they took off. This town certainly wouldn't know what hit them. These boys were known for being mischievous, and they certainly knew how to get what they wanted. They never really realized just how much they loved their family until now when they couldn't find them. And now they would use the skills they learned to find that family. However, before they could get far from each other, they heard a light groan of pain come from Hubert. Hammish and Harris looked back at their brother, only to be amazed at what they saw.
Instead of the brother who they had seen moments ago, it was a bear cub. A black bear cub. Then they looked at each other and saw the same appearance. The spell that they had been put under from that bewitched cake was still here. It much not have been as powerful, but they were now bears. Hammish was crying a little bit when he saw it, now even more scared. But his slightly older brother Harris smiled at him before patting his back. The three still had each other, and that was all that mattered for now.
Questions/Comments/Suggestions? Zephy in the Cbox mentioned, when I had asked about the three of them, that they sounded like they would be best played together by one RPer. They don't really have any abilities, so I can't abuse them in the event of a fight.
Also, I wasn't sure if they should be in their human form, or in the form of a Bear Cub. In Ren's history for Merida, she vanished from the world before her mother turned back to normal. If you feel it more logical to have them be in their cub form, then I will change their appearance.
