Name: Reikoku ???
Nickname:"The Dark One" or "The Shadow"
Age: Actual Age - ???
Physical Age - 19
Gender: Male
Species:Humanoid Heartless
Position: Neutral Evil
He is not a part of any organization, but may help someone if he feels it would give him something in return.
Powers/Abilities/Techniques/Skills: Fighting Skills -
Reikoku is very quick on his feet, allowing him to easily dodge and counteract attacks made by his opponents. He has learned many of his fighting skills from his Master, Alzarr. This includes hand-to-hand combat, sword combat, Keyblade Combat, as well as many other melee weapons. He does not have a lot of experience with ranged weapons, but as a Heartless he makes up for it using his dark powers.
Dark/Heartless powers-
Corridor of Darkness: Reikoku is able to utilize the Corridor of Darkness to teleport to different places and worlds.
Summon Heartless: Reikoku has the ability to summon lesser Heartless.
Dark Ball: Reikoku can condense darkness into a ball that he can throw, when it comes into contact with anything it will explode with a large amount of force. The ball can grow to large sizes if he is allowed to charge it for long enough, but generally he will only make it the size of his hand as it produces a considerable amount of force and is quick to make at that size.(cooldown: 5 posts, also if the ball is larger than the size of his hand he will need to charge it for a few posts depending on how large he intends to make it)
Void Charge: Reikoku can charge up his punch, kick, or weapon using darkness in the form of what looks like electricity. This gives him an added bonus in the strength of his blow, as well as it has a small chance to stun his opponent.(cooldown: 3 posts)
Corrupted Fire: Reikoku can create dark, purple-colored fire that he can control in a variety of ways, such as fireballs, a flamethrower, or a flame tornado. This fire is very hot and can only be put out using the power of light or by Reikoku. During the daytime thuogh the flames will eventually fizzle out.(cooldown: Depending on how much fire he creates will make the cooldown variable, using fireballs will probably need 2 to 3 posts before being usable again, but other instances such as flamethrower or flame tornado will most likely have a minimum cooldown of 5 - 10 posts)
Dark Claws: Reikoku can condense darkness into his fingertips to form claws, which he can use to do deadly swipes on foes.
Shadow Shards: Reikoku has the ability to send dark shards at his enemies that travel at fast speeds and can cut like razors (imagine black pieces of crystals that irradiate darkness).
Merge: Reikoku has a special ability that he had just recently discovered how to do, so it is not quite perfected yet. He has the ability to combine lesser heartless into better heartless that can be used in battle or be designed for a specific task. Though, due to the nature of this power he is not able to do this during battle as it requires a lot of concentration, and he does not know how to keep them stable so that he'd be able to unsummon and summon them at will, so once he unsummons a heartless of his own creation it is destroyed and if he wants the same heartless he must create it again.
Weapon/Items:Blade of Darkness- A blade that Reikoku forged using the darkness in hearts that lesser heartless' had while he was in the world of his Master during his first few years as a Heartless. It is about the length of a Keyblade, and is completely black except for red etchings on the hilt and a faintly glowing red line that goes up near the dull side of the blade. He created this blade through anger to create a weapon that could match the strength of a Keyblade. He feels that if he could capture the heart of a Keyblade wielder, he could use it to give the blade keyblade-like attributes (such as unlocking worlds), but he's not entirely sure if this would work. The blade though, is strong on its own due to the dark hearts it was created from.
Picture: (This picture isn't exactly how he looks, it's more so a picture I found that gives a good representation of what he looks like)
Appearance: Reikoku is a somewhat tall individual, around 6'0 feet. He has a thin body type, but has a considerable amount of muscle due to his training with Master Alzarr. His face is usually very serious looking, with bright red eyes that look as if they could pierce into a person's heart. He has short, pure white hair that is usually messy.
He wears a black cloak (similar to Org XIII) that has dark red symbols that go around the end of his sleeves and the bottom of his cloak. He also wears black gloves and black boots. Underneath his cloak he simply wears long black pants and a long black shirt. Underneath his shirt on his chest still remains the mark where the Heartless had tried to fully corrupt his heart.
Personality: Reikoku is a very dark individual, who only cares about himself. He is unwilling to do anything for anyone else unless he sees a true benefit from it. This also goes with backstabbing as he doesn't care if you were his friend for years or a complete stranger, if he sees a benefit in betraying others or even killing others he will do it without the slightest tinge of guilt. But this doesn't mean he never keeps his word , as even though he doesn't mind turning on anyone at any second if it helps him achieve his personal goals, he may also follow through with what he says if it does not interfere with anything he may do. This makes him a very unpredictable character as it is unsure whether or not he will be completely honest or will betray you at the last minute.
Reikoku is a very smart and strategic person as well, due to his well-developed fighting skills and many tricks that he'd picked up from being the apprentice of Master Alzarr as a somebody. He usually will watch battles that he is completely not a part of, simply to take note on both fighters' skills to use against them or against another that he may have to fight. This makes him very tricky to fight as his extensive fighting skills and knowledge make him a tough opponent to overcome, along with his growing dark powers. He usually will only fight people or cause chaos when it can help him achieve his goal, but being that he is a heartless he may enjoy a good bit of simple chaos every once in a while.
Reikoku is also confident in his fighting abilities. He does not necessarily boast about these abilities, but he may throw in a "You dare challenge me?!" sort of saying every once in a while as he looks at himself as an ultimate being (or, at least, he feels like he deserves to be one). He is a relentless fighter, who trains endlessly to gain more strength and power, and hates to lose fights. He has a special hatred towards Keybladers, as he feels they have "taken what is rightfully his".
Original World: Radiant Garden
Current World: He wanders from world to world
History:Reikoku was born in the world of Radiant Garden, where he was cared for by his loving parents for the first few years of his life. Reikoku would always go to the market with his parents during the afternoon, and around the age of seven his parents decided to let him go to the market and back on his own to get any needed supplies or food. When Reikoku was around the age of twelve though, a terrible tragedy occured. During the many times Reikoku went to market, there were these three troublemakers that always bullied him and beat him up due to the fact that he couldn't fight for himself, and most of the time Reikoku would just run away as fast as he could, though sometimes he had the courage to fight back (which, never really worked as they were bigger than him). These three troublemakers planned to scare him by waiting at his house with torches to keep him from running back into the saftey of his house when he ran into them, but one of them accidentally dropped their torch as they were waiting for him and set the house of fire. Reikoku saw the smoke and ran to back to his house, only to see it completely consumed by the flames and knowing that his parents were still inside. He also saw the troublemakers running away from the scene, and became filled with sadness as he watched his house begin to burn to the ground, feeling completely helpless. He began to hear authorities coming up to the house, and he immediately ran in fear that they would send him away to an orphanage, something he did not want to be a part of as he did not want new parents, he wanted his real parents back. The troublemakers were never heard from after that.
Reikoku was filled with anguish and hatred after that event, at first mourning for the loss of his parents, but later funneled it into determination. He wasn't going to let himself die of starvation, and he wasn't going to let anyone make a fool of him again. He begins to steal from local markets, although not for the pure fun of it but simply to survive. He knew he had to be quick on his feet in order to avoid the authorities or the market owners themselves. This went on for about a year or so, until one day he comes in contact with a man who changes his life, Master Alzarr.
Master Alzarr was a Keyblade Master who had retired, but due to the events of Xehanort and his attempt to open Kingdom Hearts, he had decided to go out of retirement to find a new apprentice as he felt that something worse was on the verge of happening. He was an excellent fighter, who trained Keybladers mostly in the area of fighting instead of magic (part of this reason is because his method of transportation is a starshard, and everytime he uses it it makes him sick, and also fighting is his expertise). He not only trains his apprentices with Keyblade combat, but also other weapons of combat as he feels that you shouldn't be open to the elements if your Keyblade ever were to not summon for you. He chose to come to Radiant Garden as his first choice due to a fighting competition that sprang in the area, as well as the fact that he felt many people from Radiant Garden were excellent fighters. So Master Alzarr went to the world in a dark brown cloak to hide who he was, and went there with expectations to watch the competition and choose the best fighter from there, but never was able to do so as while he was in the market area he heard a commotion.
He saw Reikoku , with food in his hands, dodging a market owner's broomstick with the greatest of ease. Reikoku then, as the broom comes down on him, hits it back up into the owner's face and while he's stunned Reikoku jumps on top of the buildings and runs away. Master Alzarr was intrigued by this boy's determination and fast reflexes, but decided to test him one more time. Master Alzarr caught up with Reikoku, and took a loaf of bread from him. Reikoku then began chasing Master Alzarr all around Radiant Garden, trying to get back what he stole, and was keeping up with him fairly well. Finally, near the end of the day, Reikoku landed a surprise attack on him and managed to get the bread back from him, and before Reikoku could get away Master Alzarr yelled "STOP" which surprised Reikoku enough to stun him for a minute as he had not heard this person talk. Master Alzarr then explained who he was to Reikoku, asking if he wanted to become a spectacular fighter, a hero, of which the likes of no one had ever seen. Reikoku contemplated it, but eventually figured that anything was better than scavenging for food the rest of his life. Also, he wanted to learn how to fight, since he could not do anything when those troublemakers bullied him, and that was another variable that propelled him to say yes.
Master Alzarr took Reikoku to a world in-between worlds where his home resided (much like Yen Sids Mysterious Tower) that was once his own Master's place to train pupils. Master Alzarr performed the Keyblade Inheritance Ceremony on Reikoku, and they began training almost instantly. Master Alzarr's way of training was to keep both him and his pupil secluded in the privacy of the training. This was to not only create a strong bond between him and his pupil, but also be able to monitor the process 24/7. They rarely left the world unless absolutely necessary, and this was why very few people heard about Master Alzarr or his pupils unless you were another Keyblade Master. Master Alzarr and Reikoku bonded very well, and Master Alzarr would always talk about his many adventures when he was starting out with the Keyblade, as well as read stories from his large array of books , including the legend of the Keyblade War. They would have a few laughs and goof around. To Reikoku, Master Alzarr was like a father.
Reikoku accelerated greatly, mastering many of the techniques and weapons that were put before him. He was determined by the anger in his heart, remembering the moment when his house went in flames and his life fell to ruin, and it caused him to train harder and harder. Master Alzarr was pleased by the fact he was picking up things so quickly, always telling Reikoku he had so much potential.
About a year passes, and something terrible rises in the mists. Master Alzarr hears of Heartless that had taken over Radiant Garden, turning it into Hollow Bastion. Master Alzarr decided to head over to Yen Sid's tower, since he was a wise and powerful wizard who could discuss with him the plan of action that should be taken due to this incident. He tells Reikoku to stay and train while he goes to see Yen Sid, but a problem arises. Master Alzarr had not realized, or merely forgot, due to always being secluded in that world that his presence in his home world was what kept the Heartless away. Reikoku was busy training, with keeping the anger in his heart to fuel his determination, and his anger began to attract Heartless onto the world. Reikoku didn't begin to realize this until he heard a commotion outside, and when he went out there he saw hundreds of Heartless. He had never really fought that many Heartless before due to their scarce nature at the time, so it caught him off guard at first. Reikoku began to fight away at the Heartless using his Keyblade, destroying masses upon masses. But a Neoshadow caught him off guard and stuck it's hand into Reikoku's chest. Reikoku could feel the darkness feeding away at his heart with pain that was unimaginable, but barely managed to lift his Keyblade up for a fatal swing into the Neoshadow's chest. He began to fight a few more, but the pain in his chest was almost unbearable.
Luckily, Master Alzarr had returned and manage to thwart off the other Heartless. Master Alzarr was concerned for Reikoku, but Reikoku insisted that he was fine ( as he didn't want to show weakness to Alzarr, thinking it would be humiliating) even though he had immense pain in his chest. The pain went away after a day, but after two or three more, he began to have nightmares of being in a black void with a dark voice telling him to open his heart to the darkness, saying that it would give him unimaginable power (this voice wasn't a somebody, but merely the darkness in his heart manifesting a voice in his dreams). What had happened was, when the Neoshadow tried to consume Reikoku's heart with darkness, but was killed in the process, the darkness was still holding onto Reikoku's heart only subdued from taking over his heart due to his strong will. Reikoku didn't give in to the darkness, and so the darkness would keep on trying to convince him every single night. Reikoku never told Master Alzarr because he felt it was a battle that he must overcome himself.
Master Alzarr trained Reikoku for about five more years, and began having sparring matches with him during that time. On the fifth year, he was able to keep up and counteract Master Alzarr with almost any melee weapon, and in fact almost beating him in some cases. This leads Master Alzarr to decide that Reikoku was almost ready for the Mark of Mastery exam. Although, just a week before the exam was supposed to take place, Master Alzarr came down with a serious illness. During this time, Reikoku was feeling so low that he began to have painful headaches and the darkness began to talk outside of his dreams. Master Alzarr soon became bedridden, and eventually he died. He left a note for Reikoku, telling him that he was the best apprentice he had ever had, and he was sorry that he never had the chance give him the Mark of Mastery exam. Reikoku could feel his will breaking, and began crying at the loss of his Master who he felt was like a father.
The darkness inside him took this as an opportunity, telling him that if he let the darkness in his heart he would never have to feel this pain again, that he would become stronger than ever. Reikoku finally caved in, letting the darkness enter into him, transforming him into a humanoid Heartless. When trying to summon his Keyblade, though, his Keyblade rejected him and broke into thousands of pieces due to the darkness in his heart. He became a cold hearted individual, bent on becoming the strongest being in all the worlds.
During this beginning time as a Heartless, he trained his dark powers and continued his fighting skills in the world of his former Master until around KH1, where he began to wander from world to world. He would watch the many battles people had, and take note on their techniques and weaknesses. He would also eavesdrop on conversations to find information that he needed. People began to see a form with red eyes in the shadows, and began wondering if someone was watching them. Some people called this entity "The Dark One" or "The Shadow", not really knowing if what they saw truly existed. Now with it being two years after KH 2, he is finally ready to begin setting his plan into motion.
Role Playing Sample: Reikoku fell to his knees in anguish, still staring at the piece of paper that Master Alzarr's last words layed. Tears began to fill his eyes, as all of the good memories of him with his master rushed through his mind. He looked around the room, at the training area where they'd sparred so many times, to the shelves full of books that Master Alzarr had read with such excitement in his eyes. Reikoku felt his heart break.
"Why...." Reikoku spoke softly to himself. "...Why must everything good be taken away from me....." His tears began to fall onto the ground before him, and he wondered why the world was so cruel to him. It had not only taken his real family, but also the only one who felt that he was worth something. The world had played a terrible joke on him, giving him a taste of happiness and joy, only to be struck down with pain and agony. Reikoku didn't know how much more of this he could take, he had nowhere else to turn, and for the first time since his life at Radiant Garden, he felt truly alone.
"You poor child...."The headaches began to come back to Reikoku, but he didn't care. He wanted his master back, he didn't want to feel this terrible sadness that he had avoided for so long.
"You know, if you had accepted the Darkness, you would never have to feel this sort of pain ever again" . Reikoku stopped for a second, still trembling from the immense sadness he was feeling, "What do you mean?".
The voice in his head merely laughed and said,
" If you were filled with Darkness you would never feel the need to cry, you would be the controller of your fate and the world would have no say in it. You would become immune to pain, and be able to become stronger than ever before. No one could ever hurt you, and you would be the most powerful being in all the worlds..." Reikoku's will to go on was shattered, he had no hopes, no dreams, and everyone who he had ever cared for was dead. Reikoku just hang his head low, with his hands on the ground. His hands began to tense up as he said, "Okay, you win. I don't want to be hurt anymore, just take this pain away from me. Make me stronger from it, let me feel true power, so that I may never have to feel this way again," Reikoku paused for a second as anger began to fill inside him. He lifted his head high and shouted , "DARKNESS, ENTER INTO MY HEART! GIVE ME THE POWER TO DESTROY ALL WHO GET IN MY WAY!" Just then, Reikoku felt a terrible pain surge through him as the darkness overtook his body. He began to feel darkness slashing all around him, destroying book shelves, training equipment, and anything else within its grasp.
Suddenly, it stopped. Reikoku felt as if the anger that once pained him gave him sweet bliss. Power surged through the very core of himself, as if nothing could stop him or get in his way. Reikoku felt as if for the first time his mind was clear, that darkness was the answer the entire time. Once the chaos ended, Reikoku sat there for a long while. A smirk then appeared on his face.
"Hm hm hm hm hm...haha.....HA HA HA HA HAA HA HA!!" Reikoku began to laugh maniacally, feeling as if he was finally free from restraints. He then lifts up to his feet, and begins staring at the palms of his hands as darkness just begins to dance around them. "This power....why did I restrain myself from moving towards its grasp for so long?" he said with an evil grin on his face. He then lifted up his hand to summon forth his Keyblade, and it began to appear in his hands. Reikoku was almost overjoyed until the Keyblade began to shock him, causing him to throw it out of his hand. The Keyblade then shined brightly, and proceeded to shatter into thousands of pieces , then slowly fade away.
A look of disgust crossed Reikoku's face. "Accursed blade!" He shouted, but then simmered down and let out a small laugh. "No matter...I will become stronger than any Keyblader can ever hope to become, they will fall to my wraith!" . As he begins walking out to the entrance of his former master's house, he stumbles upon a book that had been thrown across the room during the chaos that ensued when he accepted the darkness. He picked up the book out of curiosity, and read aloud the title. "The Legend of the Keyblade War.......I remember this....." he then flipped through the books pages until one caught his eye, and he froze on the page. The page showed a picture of Kingdom Hearts, calling it a "Heart of all Worlds".
He grabbed the page and ripped it out, tossing the rest of the book's contents aside. Reikoku stared at it for quite some time, and began to think of the power he could have if he had gained control of such a heart. Even if such a thing didn't exist, what was stopping him from becoming an ultimate being anyways? If Kingdom Hearts was out there, it would bring him one step closer to that goal.
"Kingdom Hearts......" He then lifted the page up in the air, and darkness began to consume it. "......You will be mine..."
Questions/Comments/Suggestions? - Sorry that a lot of it is so long, it all seemed important for my character and I couldn't really shorten it up, thanks for taking the time to read it!
- Fun Fact - Reikoku means relentless, ruthless, coldheartedness, and cruelty in Japanese (or at least when I looked it up that way, the internet could have fooled me =.= lol)
-Just to let you know, because his heart became so corrupted HE CANT use his keyblade anymore, just thought I would specify that in case that was unclear
