In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Name: Felix Adler
Nickname: Blade Daemon
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Position:Confusing: To place Felix in one alignment over another is rather difficult because his actions fluctuate from both good and evil. While he’s willing to help ones less unfortunate than himself, he will not hesitate to do questionable and destructive things by throwing away his morality, beliefs and codes for the sake of greater good. If he was to kill a villain who is threatening an entire world, and the only way is to destroy an entire city with countless innocents in it, then he would go through with it even if it means he has to kill his closest friends in the process. Felix certainly won’t like what he’s doing and even mourn for it.
At the same time, to those that know him as a mass murderer, Felix presents himself as a villain. He feels that he doesn’t deserve any sympathy for what he had done; in fact, even if he was forced to kill countless innocents due to his curse, he still puts the blame on himself and acts as if he’s a complete, unfeeling monster in order to keep people from forming bonds with him.
Powers/Abilities/Techniques/Skills: Felix, despite being a powerful swordsman rarely plunges himself into battles. If possible, he tries reason his way towards the most peaceful solution to keep the conflict from ever happening. Should the need to use force arise, Felix strikes only with moderation and uses his opponent’s force against them with series of grappling techniques to make them submit. It’s rather rare for anyone to actually see him drawing the sword out from the scabbard and plan on fighting seriously.
This really stems from Felix’s fear of the curse that has bestowed upon him by the sword that makes him slaughter an equal number of innocents for every evil beings he kill. However, if he stains the sword with the blood of innocents, then he also must taste the blood of the wicked in return. That is what the accursed mantra of his sword dictates. Even with his strong will, it’s impossible for Felix to resist the curse’s effect even if he doesn't kill with his own weapon. It should be noted that his personality does not change while he is under the effect of the curse. [Killing heartless and nobodies seem to be the exception to the curse, however.]
Marked for Death: Using the power of Muramasa’s sword, Felix channels his inner rage and killing intent into his body, increasing both of his speed, jumping height, and reflexes up to superhuman levels. The power can be sustained until he has killed or defeated the opponent that he picked to be his target; however, the aura and the cold sensation that this power gives off makes it rather difficult to use when launching a surprise attack against a target. When this is active, anyone within 20 meters of Felix feels his killing intent, usually coming in a form of sensation as if someone has a blade resting against their neck. It doesn't tell the target where he is coming from, but it'll let them know that he's definitely there.
Mana Burst: Felix converts almost half of the magical energy reserves in his body as a fuel to enhance his strength and endurance temporarily to superhuman levels, allowing him to survive what most human cannot and make his blows even deadlier. When this is activated, a crackling blue spherical energy comes out from the core of his body for up to 10 feet radius and dissipates. Anyone caught in it is blown backwards, or even knocked out of their guard. This lasts for 5 posts and can only be used twice per thread.
Railgun - Calamity: To activate this technique, Felix first sheaths the Muramasa blade into its scabbard. This allows the blade to charge up with destructive energies, and depending on how long it’s been charged up for, its capabilities can vary. A single post duration of charging will allow Felix to release a massive wave of crackling crimson beam through the usage of battojutsu technique (art of drawing sword out of the scabbard) that can raise and cleave its way through a small building with a coverage for up to 20 meters with a 20 meter spread. An instantaneous cast would release an energy that is nowhere near as powerful as the first, but enough to seriously burn someone and still blow them away with a coverage distance of 10 meters and 10 meter spread. This attack can also scramble electronics that his opponent may have. [3 post cool-down]
Blade Master: For his age, Felix is an extremely skilled swordsman made through nothing but pure training and effort alone rather than raw talent. In one instance, he actually took on a group of cultists trained in magic and combat on his own with only a longsword in his hand until it broke from a powerful axe blow. His techniques tend to vary from one-hand to two-hand style depending on the situation, but for the most parts one could see him using one-hand. In combat, Felix relies on his aggressive footwork, acrobatics and lightning fast strikes to completely overwhelm his enemies by going for their vulnerabilities such as tendons and arteries from unpredictable angles. If he plans on finishing them, then he would deliver a swift decapitation or other fatal areas that his enemies may leave vulnerable. However, because he tends to focus on offense, Felix also has come up with a form of his own for defense.
Flowing Water Formation: Over the years of training, this is the defensive form that Felix has come up with after a concept of a stepping stone in a steady stream of water. First thing his opponent would notice is that Felix would keep his striking zone tight and narrow as possible, stressing on fast positional transitions and reflexes. The Flowing Water formation also relies on minimal amount motion and energy-efficient defense to essentially frustrate and tire out his opponents to force them to make a mistake and follow up with an immediate counter-attack.
A meter long sword made by the legendary swordsmith Muramasa. Juuchi Yosamu is made from a precious ore which is able to tie a spirit into the weapon itself known as the 'Spirit Steel'. Making it not only encompass powerful abilities, but also possess an extraordinarily sharp edge and durability. The metal itself shows a hint of dark corruption, giving it a sinister look as if blood is constantly running down to the tip on its pristine black blade. The guard is ornate and ancient, finely crafted in order to withstand sword blows and made so that the hand won’t slip during combat. Most of the time, the sword is bound by series of magical chains while in the scabbard, which don’t release themselves until Felix recites his own curse:
“Meet a demon - slay the demon. Meet a saint - slay the saint. Therein lies the way of the sword!”
As sinister as the weapon looks, spirit remains untainted from the corruption of the darkness. Capable of manifesting outside the weapon, she is a beautiful young woman with brown hair and brown eyes. Quite often, she’s seen wearing an oriental dress with a red jacket over it for easy movement. Much like Felix, the spirit has tendencies to swallow her own emotions to do what is necessary, but she certainly doesn’t enjoy it and hates the curse that the dark powers have placed upon her and her sword.
Note: Click the weapon name and the word 'woman' for the picture of their appearance.
Wakizashi [Short sword]:
A short sword used by Felix. Unlike the Muramasa blade: Juuichi Yosamu, which has special properties, this weapon is merely made from your average ordinary metal and has a special locking mechanism to keep the weapon from falling into the enemy's hands in middle of a battle. The overall length of this weapon is 15 inches long and is always kept with him along side with his main sword. He learned from the mistakes in the past being overly arrogant just having a long sword, so in case his weapon becomes unavailable to him, he always has this trusty short sword as his backup weapon.
Picture:
Appearance:
Felix is 6 feet tall young man who weighs about 175 lbs overall. While he doesn't seem to be the most physically imposing man, a lot of the muscles are build towards his core and legs to ensure stable footwork for his swordsmanship. He still has enough muscles to carry out heavier tasks with relative ease though, thanks to extreme training that he has put himself through. Considering he’s always active, Felix tends to keep his jet-black hair at a medium length, reaching down to his neckline and the bangs are swept over slightly over towards the right side of his face to help his right eye kept somewhat covered from showing its slit pupil. However, in terms of way he presents himself, Felix is quite regal and sports a white trench coat with gray wolf fur lining around the shoulders. On the right arm it comes with segmented metal plates and pauldron that goes down from his shoulder to his forearm. Given how it's made, it provides maximum protection without sacrificing any of the movement of the wearer. Under his the coat, Felix wears a sleeveless black zip-up shirt and a pair of simple black trousers to complement it. For shoes, he wears an ankle-high combat shoes with sharped metal toe plates that gives the wearer better footing in unstable areas, but also provide an extra weapon and protection.
Personality:
For most parts, Felix is a type of guy who would rather move around in the background and attract as least amount of attention on himself as possible. To those who meet him for the first time, they are given an impression of a stoic and collected man. A tough one to crack open and get him to start talking, because he will only say what he really needs to say and be done with it. The manner of his speaking is strictly business-oriented and always to the point with what he wants. Therefore, he is rather blunt to a fault, but honest. Only time he'll ever hold back is if he feels that what he might say would either jeopardize the safety of someone that he cares deeply about, or even greatly hurt them.
In addition to that, he is a pacifist by nature. Felix is not the kind of person who actively seek out battles unless it’s truly necessary, or out of self-defense despite being a mass murderer. It’s quite rare for him to actually use his force against another living being in order to subdue them. In fact, he will usually try to reason with them, and come up with some sort of compromise to settle things as peacefully as possible without the need for an unnecessary bloodshed. Overall, he’s a good person, even going out of his way to help those who are less fortunate than himself even if they are strangers to simply be a Good Samaritan.
Despite his calm and tranquil front, one would think that there really is nothing going on about him. It should be noted that this is just the mask that Felix puts on to hide his inner turmoil. The male has a deep self-loathing of himself for what he had done in the past a long time ago. It’s something that he will carry with him into his grave. Therefore, his sanity is rather questionable at best, because he does not feel he can be redeemed for his sins, but rather, intends on making up to the innocents who died by his sword by showing that their deaths were not in vain. Of course, there are times when he gets terrible mood swings and be tempted to end his own life, but to him, death is a luxury, a kind of sleep he does not deserve until he has fulfilled the obligations to those that he had ended. That is what keeps him alive and breathing to this day.
As expected, a mass murderer like him is wanted by his Empire for high price. There are always bounty hunters and enemies that wants his head. In order to keep people he cares about and innocent bystanders out of his harm's way he puts on a mantle of a villain and pretends to be this complete, utter monster who enjoys bloodshed and spreading death wherever he goes. Felix is not an evil man by nature and does not want anyone to be in the same, constant danger as he is. He knows the life he leads is dangerous and often lead him into doing things ranging from questionable at best to making people see him as a complete, irredeemable monster. Considering that Felix does see himself as such, he has no qualms doing villainous tings even if he has to betray his own beliefs in order to achieve his own goals.
Ironically, Felix hates what is evil and even killing another living being. Though he may have no qualms about doing such immoral thing if he must, but seeing another person or thing doing it will earn them his full-blown wrath. Hypocritical? Yes, but he is aware and knows that another person's villainy is another's virtue; however, this only goes to show that his own morality that he believes in and sanity is quite shaky. For him, he feels that he has no other choice other than to go down this thorny path that twists and turns in the madness of his own curse.
Original World: Holy Empire of Ursas: Holy Empire of Ursas is a massive, civilized world of diverse cultures that resembles an ancient Roman Empire not only by their building structure, but also by the way they do things. The buildings and objects are fueled by magic technology, which combines both magic and technology to bring comfort in the lives of people. At the top of the Empire hierarchy, they have senates representing the people and everything is settled through votes, and compromises. Among them is the emperor, who has the final say in just about everything. However, the Empire is on verge of collapse and is slowly rotting away due to constant wars brought by both barbarians and heartless because of how much resource it takes to simply feed and supply a vast army of well-trained soldiers. Poverty in on the rise, and unemployment is rising well above 50%. It’s not uncommon to see a beggars on the streets.
Blacksmithing is a big part of the planet's culture. For a lot of blacksmiths who follow ancient practices, it's a spiritual thing and a magical process. Every metalworker would see as if the weapons they create have lives of their own and are unique to each warrior. As such, a spirit steel was utilized a long time ago before the Empire made it totally obsolete with their superior war machines, tactics and training. However, the barbarians that actively defy the Empire's rule is known to utilize such powerful weapons even to this day.
At the dark corners of the Empire, a cultist is on the rise known as: "Masamune Rising". It is a dangerous organization formed from the dissatisfaction towards the empire; currently seeking to revive an ancient tyrant to restore his rule on this planet utilizing the power of Masamune’s sword. They have eyes and ears everywhere. They are soldiers, every day men and women, and even traders; therefore, they know the inner workings of the empire and with the knowledge they've gained, they are ready to bring the Goliath down to its knees.
However, in order to further understand the cult’s goal, one must take a look at the ancient history of this world. A long time ago, this nameless world was ruled under iron fist of a tyrant that could only be considered as a demon. Everything in the world was his until the two legendary swordsmiths decided to end his rule once and for all. Two of their names were: Muramasa and Masamune and together they created a sword named: Yarawakai-Te [Tender Hands], which embodied absolute, indomitable justice itself.
With this mighty sword, Masamune battled against the tyrant, but he was killed by the villain’s overwhelming power and had his sword shattered in the midst of the fight. The Tyrant, seeing a usage for this sword decided to re-forge the holy sword for his own usage by corrupting both the blade and the spirit. Muramasa was furious when he heard this news. With anger flowing through his veins, he forged a sword of his own to take revenge for his old friend and that sword was named: Juuchi Yosamu [10,000 Cold Nights], which embodied the absolute terror of war and conflict.
This time, when Muramasa fought against the tyrant, he won. Before the tyrant fell, he cursed all of the blade smith’s forged weapons so that whoever took it up and formed a contract will be bound by a terrible curse until death. With that in mind, the smith sealed away the tyrant with a magic spell in an ancient tomb deep down at the core of the world instead of killing him and took the shattered pieces of Masamune’s sword and locked them away in a cave with his sword acting as a gatekeeper to keep its dark influence from getting out. After the event, Muramasa never forged another sword with his hands and went into isolation until the time of his presumed death.
Current World: Currently drifts from one place to another.
History: Felix comes from a rather humble background. His mother died at birth and lived with his father who ran a blacksmith shop at a small, remote village out in the country side. During most of his childhood, he helped his father out with forging weapons and armor by gathering materials and doing by doing some hammering work on his own. It was a peaceful, but rewarding life despite the fact that he didn’t have a lot of time to play with other children at his age. Throughout his years, he gained an extensive knowledge about metals and metalworking, which led his father to believe that he will become a fine smithy one day. Considering the times and situation in his own world, blacksmith is a great job, but it took quite a bit of money to get started due to the costly materials. Before Felix was born, his father took money out from a group of loan sharks without knowledge of them being one, but the interest kept piling up to a point that his father could no longer pay them back.
On Felix’s thirteenth birthday, he and his father was visited by a group of men who said that they were here to collect the loan that they’ve given out. His father, who said that he didn’t have enough money to pay off everything was violently beaten and was threatened with a blackmail in front of Felix’s eyes. For the boy, he was powerless to do anything other than to watch from the distance, hidden away from these men in his own small room. Felix hated the feeling of powerlessness, so he implored with his father on that night to send him to a military school where he can be strong and be able to support him. Of course, like just about any other parent who would care about the safety of their child, he said ‘no’ to the request and promised the child he’ll pay off the bills somehow.
Despite what his father had said, Felix begun to study hard in his own room in private to get into the most prodigious military academy in all of Ursas. Considering he was busy most of the time helping his dad with work, he made the time during the night for several hours with the books that he would borrow from the library. By the time Felix turned eighteen, the blacksmith shop finally closed down and his father went off into unemployment. With almost every blacksmith shop filled and with no money to move to another town, he had little choice other than to live off of scraps by working at construction sites. The boy had enough of this. He was fed up with what he couldn’t do, fed up with poverty and constant threat by these loan sharks, so he left his former life behind at midnight and enlisted into the military by the next morning.
While in the military, Felix was trained in battlefield tactics and on art of swordsmanship. With the checks that he earned, he sent half of his own profit to his own father. Considering that he had little to no connections to the military or the government whatsoever, he knew that in order to rise through the rank quickly, he not only had to train harder than everybody else, but also put twice the amount of effort in his assignment in order to impress his higher ups. Eventually, after several assignments, heroic feats and commendations received, he climbed up to the rank of Major in matter of a matter of five years. Not because they saw potential in him, but because they needed more officers for the wars to keep the soldiers in the line and fighting. Regardless, he was recorded as the youngest officer to reach that rank in the Empire's history and after receiving his promotion, Felix decided to return to his hometown to take time and catch up with his father.
Taking some of his own men with him to the trip, Felix made his way to his old hometown, however, just as he was about arrive, he was suddenly ambushed by cultist forced combined with the barbarians. It was odd enough to see them together, but to think that they were working together baffled Felix and caught him off guard; however, knowing that he wasn’t going to be able to hold out against them forever, he sent out his men to grab reinforcements to help defend the town.
The battle was fierce. Felix along with a small platoon of soldiers at his disposal assigned in the town did their best to defend it from the attack, but as they were defending he noticed a few cultists making their way over towards the direction of the caves. Suspicious of what they wanted, he decided to investigate just what exactly was going on, and perhaps know the reason behind this unwarranted attack.
When he arrived in the cave, he was immediately confronted by his the enemies and all by himself at a tired state, he was forced to fight against the cultists who were not only well-trained, but also well-versed in magical combat. This situation only drove Felix to the corner, not even able to touch them. As the death fast approached, a voice spoke inside his head saying that if he wanted to save his father and others, then he would have to recite the ancient mantra which would curse him. However, he shrugged off the voice and kept fighting, not giving up until his long sword broke from an immensely powerful axe swing.
Once again, the sword spoke to him and offered a chance to keep fighting. This time, Felix took up the offer and spoke the accursed words:
“Meet a demon – slay the demon. Meet a saint – slay the saint. Therein lies the way of the sword.”
Then, out of the blue, a pristine black blade darker than the night sky itself suddenly drove into the side of the cultist’s skull in a flash of crimson light. With the newfound power grasped in his hand, enraged Felix killed every single enemy he found in the cave at a reckless abandon. His massacre continued all the way to the town, no barbarians and cultists – save for one survived to witness the event unfolding before their eyes. By the end of the butchering, his body as if being controlled by some unknown force driving him to kill his own men. Helpless against at what he was doing, Felix tried to stop himself and even slit his throat to stop himself from murdering any more innocents. The very last victim who bloodied his blade on that night was his very own father.
Before Felix had done thing, he tried to resist such thing even going as far as begging his own sword to release control over him and at least let him live. The sword, repeated this once more: "I am the accursed blade of Muramasa. I kill without distinction. You bloodied my weapon with those you hate, now you will stain it with the blood of those you love." And with a swift, but decisive strike, he ended the life of the only person that Felix had dearly cared for and loved.
The calamity was not yet over, far from it. One of the cultist that lived through the massacre was in the cave and managed to release the seal which locked up the broken pieces of Masamune blade. With a streak of white light escaping from the mountains, shattered blade pieces scattered throughout the universe. Counting up to eight in total. The ominous glow of light captured Felix’s attention in the midst of his own despair, and Juuchi Yosamu explained what the ‘light’ was and what would actually happen when they come together. This would not only spell end for the empire, but also for this world and others as they knew it in the hands of anyone.
With such heavy mission like that thrown at him, Felix wasn’t exactly sure what to think – until the reinforcements that he had requested finally arrived on the scene. At first, a lot of them thought he was the only survivor until a cultist came along and pointed a finger at Felix, calling him: ‘Monster’. The accuser technically told the truth, and Felix who was still shaken up by his own actions wanted to turn himself in, at the same time he was afraid of what might happen to him. After coming all this way, he didn’t want to be executed and stand on trial, though he knew deserved justice for what he had done, something inside him told to survive. At that moment, he made the decision to run, to get away from here as fast as he could. With hundreds of soldiers chasing him, Felix didn't stop running and hiding until next morning and by then they gave up their chase.
In mean time, he made a plan to get off of this world and thanks to a few good friends who didn't know about his treachery just yet at the time, he managed to take a small ship and go into exile. To this day, the Empire is still after him and has posted his name up in the bounties for high price.
Role Playing Sample:
Many times, the swordsman often found himself doing things that he didn’t want to do, and that was to take a life of another human being. Tonight, he found himself doing it again, his victim this time was a woman whose path deviated from that of a warrior and took the path of a demon. She took up a cursed sword, in return for the powers, she lost all her sanity and was focused on one thing: To regain her former glory. No matter what he did, he couldn’t save her from the clutches of the evil sword – most of the humanity that was left in her was now gone, both mentally and physically. And so, as the sun set behind him, Felix brought down the blade of ‘justice’ down upon his victim. Even after the body was deprived of its head, it moved a little more for a couple of seconds before finally pausing; along with her, the weapon that she held on her hand stopped functioning altogether. Behind her was a teenage boy, tied up in chains against a concrete pillar behind him.
Felix knew how this went; he repeated this mistake all too many times before in his life time. His sword was tainted with the blood of both evil and innocents altogether. Tonight, this child’s life would be taken as the curse dictates. No matter how noble it might’ve seemed to people who could witness this battle, a murder was murder. To take a life of another being was nothing more than an art of cruelty. The swordsman walked up to the boy with the bloodied sword firmly grasped in his hand. He figured a clean cut to the head should do it, since he was not moving it made it that much easier for him to get this act over with. Just as Felix leveled the sword over his head, something made him stop momentarily from acting out any further.
“Wow, you were so cool back there! I wish I can be a great hero like you one day, fighting off bad guys!” The boy yelled, his eyes beaming with delight from spectacle of the blade daemon that he saw earlier. “People say that you’re from a mass-murderer or something, but… you really don’t act like it. Ah, I know, people are spreading wrong rumors about you, aren’t they? Well, I believe in you, the Blade Daemon! The wrath of justice!”
… A hero? The words this boy said was like rubbing salt into an old wound. It pained him that someone would think of him as such.
“Well, you know how it goes, Felix. End him.” The words from his swords rang inside his head.
The swordsman felt his arms shake like the entirety of his being. How could he possibly bring himself to kill another child? But his will was not his own. This body was not his. His sword was not his. Nothing, none of which he thought he owned was his. His body was a puppet, it became one ever since he picked up this bloodthirsty sword. “I’m sorry. I am... not the person that you make me out to be. Feel free to despise me in death.”
“Eh?”
Once again, his sword tasted the both blood of the innocent and the wicked tonight. At that moment, the head from the boy’s body rolled over towards Felix’s feet. His eyes were staring right into his as if asking ‘why’? Unable the answer the question of the dead, he wrenched his eyes away from it and turned his back against the two corpses as he walked out to the exit of the building.
Questions/Comments/Suggestions? In my opinion, I believe links and fonts should be in separate color and we should have a place where we can post up our app links to let staff know that we're done. That way, it makes the work for staff a lot easier rather than rummaging through the apps, but that's just me.
