Canon or Original: Original
Name: Lucian
Nickname: Luke
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Species: Somebody
Position: Neutral
Appearance:
Lucian is an average looking guy, not really slim, but at the same time not muscular. He has shaggy, dark brown hair, along with emerald green eyes, with his bangs swooshing to the right, almost covering up his eyes. His face gives off a rather innocent side to him, with no sense of aggression or remorse, only giving off a “happy go lucky” feeling to others.
His clothing is rather simple, with nothing too extravagant, preferring to keep himself light and nimble. Having a zip up, black hoodie, with the top of it zipped down slightly to reveal a white shirt, his jeans being a normal, blue color, a black belt wrapped around this jeans, with his black shoes with red soles tied tightly onto his feet. On his thigh is a small holster that can hold his weapon in its wand form. Attached to his right, back hip is a small, brown leather, pouch that can hold a total of twelve, small bottles with six filled with potions and ethers.
History:
Lucian had a brother who was born a few seconds after him, named Alfred. The two couldn’t be torn apart growing up, training every second they could while fantasizing about their adventures they would have when they were older. While Alfred was the one who was a gifted swordsman, Lucian was a gifted mage, being able to cast higher level spells daily. Alfred was perceived to be the “cool guy”, being popular with most of the kids and adults on their world, with Lucian secluding himself, living in his brother’s shadow. Throughout watching Alfred’s interactions with others, Lucian began to pick up on some of his traits, and slowly began to connect to people, but not on the level of his connections to Alfred. While growing up, the two would accompany their father,
a former warrior, where they traded among worlds for supplies for their own world, going towards a world known as Hollow Bastion. Upon entering the world, Lucian met Fey, a young girl who was the daughter of a local merchant. While his time was short, his father and brother having already traded and ready to leave, Lucian managed to connect with Fey. Over the next couple of years, Lucian always accompanied his father in his path towards Hollow Bastion, spending all of his time with Fey. However, one day, his father stopped going to Hollow Bastion, refusing to explain why. One night, Lucian decided to venture off on his own onto the path, wanting to know what had happened to Hollow Bastion. After only minutes of walking, Lucian discovered himself in Hollow Bastion once more, but the streets were empty, with the sky being darker than usual. Continuing to walk, the shadows seemed to seep out from the ground around him, taking a solid form as Heartless. Pulling out his weapon, Lucian began to fight off the Heartless, only to be overrun with them. Before he was absorbed into the darkness by the Heartless, his father arrived, saving the young boy and bringing him home. After that day, Lucian vowed to become stronger, and find out what
happened to Hollow Bastion, and his friend.
Once they hit the ripe age of 17, the brothers went off towards a random direction, leaving their lone island in order to go on their adventure. However, destiny is never left to chance. Upon walking for miles, their surroundings changed into pitch black, the road crumbling as the brothers continued on. “I have a bad feeling about this…” Lucian told his brother. “Don’t worry. We’ll find shelter soon and we can rest.” Alfred assured his brother, carrying his two handed steel sword on his hands. The duo continued, till their surroundings looked very familiar, darkness surrounding them as they continued on. Eventually, the duo came across a large, white castle, perhaps a place to rest?
Walking into the castle, the two brothers were immediately separated, having no idea where each of them had been teleported to. Going throughout the castle, hoping to be reunited and going through their memories (imagine it as the Sora/Riku parallel in Re:CoM). Going through their memories, Lucian found himself back at home, having to overcome his inner darkness of staying within his brothers shadow, and defeating various Heartless that took the form of his family and friends. Once he finished going through the memories of his home, he began going through the memories of Hollow Bastion. Lucian managed to fight his way towards the top floor. However, once he was on the last floor, he found his
brother, Alfred, somehow consumed from the darkness.
Taking out his Archaic Force in its wand form, the two brothers began to duel, each one getting in good hits here and there. However, throughout their fight, Lucian began to realize that the castle itself was manifesting the darkness in each of their hearts. Alfred, harboring a large amount of darkness, was taken over by it, the castle amplifying his dark powers.
Throughout the fight, Lucian learned that the reason Alfred had a large amount of darkness inside of him was due to the fact that Alfred was always looked upon as the spitting image of their father, who was a great warrior at one point, while Lucian had the freedom to choose what kind of person he wanted to be. As the two brothers fought, Lucian managed to reach out, connect to Alfred’s heart, attempting to purify it. All of his attempts to purify his brothers heart failed, leaving him with only one option. Connecting his heart with Alfred’s, the brothers fought in a fusion of their Station of Awakening. With the darkness corrupting Alfred too much, the brother turned into a pure Heartless. Defeating his brother, Lucian assumed the fight was over.
Managing to escape the castle, Lucian continued on the path he was previously on with his brother, with his resolve to visit every world he could, wanting to fulfill his now lost brothers wish. On his journey, he came across a world that seemed to be in space, guarding various aliens, a world that seemed to be full of scary festive, and a world that only housed an island. Throughout these worlds, Lucian fought against the Heartless and Nobodies of many shapes and sizes,
training so that he could continue to see other worlds, while also leveling up his abilities.
Current Primary Objective: Visiting all of the worlds he can.
Learning Type: Visual
Personality:
Lucian has a cool, and somewhat playful demeanor around new people, however, he’s very introverted, being shy and quiet around those he
does not trust. However, Lucian does have a short temper, normally getting frustrated easily whenever something doesn’t work out the first time. Through this temper, Darkness normally seeps from his heart, making his magical attacks and melee attacks a dark variation of them (i.e. Dark Blizzard).
Lucian also deals with some Survivors Guilt, knowing he should have been the one to perish in Castle Oblivion, and not his brother. Due to this, he makes it his primary reason for saving others, wanting them to fulfill a full and happy life.
However, due to this guilt, he often puts himself down and puts himself in places where he might not make it out alive. Along with this, he suffers from extreme anxiety when battling large amounts of Heartless and Nobodies, in addition to recurring nightmares and sleeping troubles.
Being creative with his attacks, Lucian is also known to be flashy,
using a sleet of ice to slide on to traverse the enviornment during battle. While he deals with a cool demeanor, Lucian is deathly afraid of spiders and snakes, anything that even resembles them has him jumping, and running off in fear. In his spare time, Lucian enjoys walking around various worlds, taking in the views of each one. When he isn’t traveling throughout the worlds, Lucian finds himself practicing his spells, wanting to have better control over it, along with his temper, or enjoying a nice cup of tea, or some sea salt ice cream. Lucian cannot stand narcissistic, and self-entitled people, seeing them as spoiled. He also can’t stand others who have to lie and manipulate their way in order to obtain something, being a firm believer that hard work must be put in to gain something. However, if someone is in dire help, and he believes that said person deserves it, they will leave them, letting them take their punishment rather than save them.
In battle, Lucian is creative with his spells, using the environment to help him out. Being rather slim, Lucian is able to jump and run around, firing off his spells in quick succession. However, if he fires off too many spells too quickly, he will be burnt out, and not able to use any of his spells for two hours. If he’s left without his magic, Lucian can easily extend out his wand, turning it into a staff. While he isn’t the strongest in melee, Lucian can easily keep his distance while dealing out quick attacks to his enemies, along with wide attacks. Being a single kind of guy, Lucian prefers to be in battles alone, as being with teammates that he doesn’t know can often cause him to miss, or injure someone else, or even get injured himself.
Home World:Travelers Trail: A world that sits at the cross roads of every realm and world. In this world, people are free to stay, find work in the many stores and cafes, or they can go out and venture to the different realms and worlds outside the barriers. In the middle of the world lays four crossroads, each one leading to a different realm or world. The world is generally neutral, with many people crossing the thin line between darkness and light. It is rumored that those born on this world
are blessed with the ability to resist the darkness that travels throughout the Lanes in Between for a limited time before they must stop and rest. If stayed too long, their magical protection will begin to fade, allowing the darkness to seep into them.
Natural Affinities/Abilities/Skills:
Blizzard: Throughout his travels and life, Lucian has developed the ability to control the element of Ice in his attacks. Extending his hand outward, he can charge a semi-large block of ice on his hand. Once released, it can reach outward in a straight forward shot of 8-inches before melting into water. Whenever the Blizzard spell is cast, it leaves a trail of pure ice for anyone and anything to trip/slide on. Whenever casting Blizzard at a lower level, Lucian can direct sleet towards the ground. Being able to slide on the sleet, Lucian can direct the direction of sleet, allowing for quick movement. Quick Blitz: Lucian takes his weapon in its staff form, and delievers several quick attacks, with each attack getting faster than the last one. On the final attack, he swings back his staff before using all of his strength into one last attack, swinging the staff in a large sweeping motion.
Standard Three-Hit Combo: Lucian uses his staff in a normal, three hit combo. Swinging his staff in a wide arc, he then follows it up with another wide arc coming from the other direction, before swinging his staff over his head and down onto the opponent. -
(In-Air): Lucian grabs his staff in the middle of the shaft, shoving the end of it into the opponent, before twirling it quickly, grasping the shaft of his staff with both his hands, hitting the opponent his staff, and then taking his foot, and slamming it into the opponent, sending them towards the ground.
Throughout his studies of the magic arts, Lucian discovered a way to magically bond his weapon to him, the spell being called
Ritual Bond. Whenever Lucian is separated from his weapon, he can easily call it back to him in a flash of light and darkness, the effect being similar to a Keyblade being summoned. The only way to break this Ritual Bond is either breaking the weapon, or killing the user.
Limitations and Drawbacks:
Lucian’s main drawback is his overuse of magic. While he does realize his limits of only being able to shoot off so many spells at once, which is around
three spells, he sometimes gets carried away. Whenever he shoots off various spells, he must take time to recharge. Each spell takes around ten seconds to recharge. Whenever he continuously cast spells, ignoring the recharge and tapping into his own energy to cast off spells, he must take two hours to regain his energy and magic.
(The three spells being if he continued to fire off Blizzard again, three post in a row. Ex. Blizzard -> Blizzard -> Blizzard -> recharge for thirty seconds, with each second being a turn. This also applies to his Ice Sleet.)Lucian also isn’t strong, only being able to lift 125 pounds. Along with no being very strong, Lucian is also known to take a lot of damage from attacks, thus why he attempts to increase his speed and dodge attacks. While Lucian is known to analyze his opponent during combat, he can also overthink, and overload his brain with too many thoughts. With all of this, and his temper, Lucian is known to lash out without thinking, allowing the darkness to seep into his magical attacks whenever he’s angry.
Passive:
Heartborn Fractal
Weapon:
Archaic Force: -
Form 1: In this weapons first form, it’s the size of a standard wand, with a strong, wooden, rectangular shape and size, along with arcane runes etched onto it. In this form, the Archaic Force can amplify the range and power of Lucian’s spells, while allowing free movement around the battlefield. However, once Lucian is depleted of his MP, the wand becomes almost useless.
-
Form 2: When expanded, the Archaic Force becomes a seven-foot staff, becoming an almost pure melee weapon. Being able to expand his weapon does not cost him any MP, as this is a feature of the wand. While being proficient in using the staff, it can also continue to use magic, although not at the level of when the Archaic Force is in its first form. However, it is still a blunt weapon, and along with Lucian not being that strong, it doesn’t do that much damage.
Role Playing Sample: The battle was over, wasn’t it? Then why did it feel like it had only begun to Lucian? All around the white room, the walls were decorated with slashes and patches of ice, the floor was scarred with scorch marks and stab wounds. The only noise that could be heard was the loud panting of Lucian, who was covered in cut marks and sweat, gripping his staff in his hand tightly. In front of him, laid his brothers body, motionless. “Al…Alfred..?” Lucian said hoarsely, staring at the body. Slowly, Lucian began to drag his body over to the body. Standing above it, he couldn’t believe what had happened. He
couldn’t believe what he had done.
Dropping to his knees, there was a loud “clunk” as his staff hit the floor. Sitting in front of his brothers body, he grabbed his brothers head, putting it in his lap. “Alfred….Come on man…Wake up.” Lucian said, shaking his brothers head gently. As he did so, Lucian couldn’t see a response. This couldn’t be real…it just couldn’t. As he sat there, Alfred’s head in his lap, Lucian heard a familiar sound. The wooshing of the darkness surrounding them, with the crawl of a nobody. Dusk and Shadows began to surround the pair, their intent clear.
“Stop…” Lucian began to mumble, as the creatures grew closer, as if they were in a dance together. “Stop it…” Lucian said again, feeling the dark presence they carried. As several Shadow jumped up, their claws out and ready, the Dusk began to curl up, before leaping in with their brothers. “STOOOOP!” Lucian screamed at the top of his lung, as Lucian felt an icy grip at his gut. Suddenly, ice pillars began to shoot up from the ground, caking the floor below them in a sheet of ice, freezing the Heartless and Dusk that were still on the ground, and impaling the others that were in the air. Holding his brothers head to his chest, Lucian began to sob openly, as he hugged is now deceased brother tightly.
