What was the inspiration for them / do they embody a particular feeling or emotion? My Original inspiration for playing Kailyn was to try to make it a dual character with a friend where we each played the Heartless and Nobody forms of the character. Beyond that the character herself seemed really interesting and like something I could see myself trying to pursue more to expand more on her story.

History: When she was growing up in Levitara, Kailyn was a happy little girl who took after her mother. At a young age, she developed the ability to heal the wounds of others. She was very young when Levi snapped and killed her mother and father, and Jin was quick to place her in the care of Perothun before starting the fight. Jin never came back for her, though. After that, she was quickly found out as a Gifted and cycled into Perothun's foster system for abandoned Gifted children - though it wasn't that uncommon for these orphans to have been created by Perothun in the first place.

Her talents to heal were noticed by Mathias - the head of Perothun and the thirteenth seat of Tamnia's High Magistrate - very quickly. The similarity in nature and potency of the girl's healing to her own daughter's had him trying to instil as much skill in her as possible to hopefully replace Maria as the lead of Perothun's medical division. The first step of her training beyond simple first aide alongside the Research and Development division was her assignment to the Colosseum. The targets to heal there weren't essential to Perothun's goals, so any mistakes she made lacked any real consequence.

There she met Jin, and the long-repressed memories of Levi and her time in Levitara started to resurface. Mathias had made one miscalculation, though. During her time in the Colosseum, Kailyn had grown to despise fighting of any sort. She'd seen too many lives claimed and healed too many injuries to agree with her adopted father's (and unknown to any of them at the time, her grandfather on her mother's side) views on the necessity of war.

Levi's attack on the Colosseum - drawn out by Jin's continued display of power - reaffirmed this for her, and after deciding that Jin's mission was the correct way to solve things - to stop the violence by fixing Levi's mind and extinguising the flames of aggression on both sides of the equation - she agreed to travel alongside Jin and heal him when he was too injured to do so himself.

On the way, they encountered a boy from the Aeverus family named Trey. He had hidden both his albinism and his control over air and wind from the world with the help of his family, but nothing escaped Perothun for long. In the end, Kailyn was able to help encourage him to run away with Jin and herself.

Before the Heartless attacked, Kailyn was adamant that Jin should have no part in the second wave of the Resistance, and his indecisiveness about got her very angry with him. She didn't see why refusing to fight was such a hard thing for him, especially when it had next to nothing to do with his goal. The argument didn't have time to play out before Levi attacked alongside the Heartless.





Current Primary Objective:
Kailyn's current objective is to find her brother and Trey again and have them all return back home together. Wherever Tamia may have disappeared to when it was swallowed by the Darkness.

Learning type:
Kailyn is a combination of Observation and Tactile based learner. What this means is she learns best through observing what others are trying to teach her and then performing the task on her own in practice.
