In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

So, yeah, I've been waiting a while, and I figure by now, maybe I should just let the admin decide whether or not to award me characters for coming back. Take it or leave it. I won't be offended if you say, "Sorry, Aryn, no characters for you until Thanksgiving, when Roxas comes back."
Here are some profiles! And guess what? You've probably read them before!
Name: Merlin
Nickname(optional): None
Age: There are some who say that Merlin is ageless, for he has lived in the past, present, and future and there are none now live who remember his birth date. As for Merlin? He would merely smile and tell you he was “old enough”
Gender: Male
Species: Human Wizard
Position: Good
Weapon: Magic (and wits)
Appearance: Merlin takes the form of a wizened, old man, with a long, snow-white beard ending just below his belt. He generally wears blue robes and a pointed hat of similar color. His pockets are large and filled with all sorts of magical charms and spells, though which one he left the keys to his cottage in, he couldn’t tell you. His wild eyebrows give him the appearance being only half-awake most of the time, but his eyes were bright and alert to the world around him.
Powers/Spells: Merlin is well-verse in the defensive magical arts, powers including, but not limited to: basically anything he can teach Sora, he can also perform adequately. However, he does not use these powers often, if at all.
His greatest strengths are his ability to time travel, portal, and transform into any creature at will. He can also shrink and enlarge objects, animate them, otherwise manipulate them.
I believe it is appropriate that Merlin have other less regarded powers, such as enchanting a quill to take notes for him, and such. I will base these powers directly off of what seems plausible from both the games, and the movie he comes from, “The Sword in the Stone”
Weapon(s): He has a wand of sorts to help him direct his magical energies, but that’s all.
Inventory:
1 feather quill 1 copy of the New York Times 3 owl treats 1 bottle of aspirin ½ hi-potion 5 tea bags 1 ring of brass and silver keys 1 eye of a newt 1 packet of 16 four-leaf clovers Lint 1 packet of parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme 1 bottle of lotion 5 fire-hops 1 USB cable 1 Thumb drive 1 Unidentified Experiment.
History/Background: In medieval times, Merlin had took on a boy named Arthur as a pupil, preparing him for his destiny as King of the Britains and bringer of peace to the divided and warring nations. Unfortunately, during the same era he had been trapped by Morgan le Faye, Morgain of the Faeries. He was trapped for several hundred years within the heart of an oak tree, until his world fell apart and he was forced to relocate. Once again he is using his skills to teach the chosen few how to wield their powers and guide them on their path to greatness.
Personality: Merlin can sometimes come off as a bumbling, old fool, who is easily distracted, but this is only because there are so many thoughts running through his mind at once that would be difficult, nay impossible, for a normal person to comprehend. His mind is always buzzing with facts and riddles, though he can’t always explain them properly the way he would like to.
He believes that swords are no match for the power of the mind and wisdom of the ages and is quite willing to teach anyone who is willing to learn.
He loves chamomile tea, Trading Spaces, and National Geographic magazine.
Role Playing Sample: Here are two excerpts from my rping as Merlin, which may or may not be found on WD.
One: "Intelligence and wisdom, my dear boy, are entirely subjective. I value learning and knowledge for the sake of contributing to the Worlds when they need it, and for the mental well-being of my person." Were children not taught to respect their elders these days? Though annoyed and perhaps the tiniest bit anxious to get these young people out of his study so he could work in peace, he did not show it. Still, he felt no desire to correct the boy by showing him his true power as wizard of the magical arts. He never used magic as a means of commanding respect unless it was absolutely necessary. He believed that respect was privilege, not a right. "My name is Merlin. Is there anything I can do for you?"
Two: Merlin glanced up from his crossword puzzle, snow-white eyebrows knit. Well the nerve of some people! Arriving a whole fifteen minutes earlier than expected. The wizard checked the clock. Yes, a whole fifteen minutes early! In a moment, he went to the window and opened it, "Can I help you? Ah, it's you! Well, now, you know you're early, don't you? Well, don't just stand there, come inside. It's nearly time for luncheon. And ah, that goes for you too, lass." He bustle to put on some tea, conjuring some plates with biscuit, which happened to be Mickey-Mouse shaped . He had been prepared to receive visitors that afternoon, due to a little premonition he had had last week, but was the tiniest bit annoyed at the timing. He was just filling in a four letter word for "curse" in his crossword and was mildly miffed that he had not gotten to finish it. Still, there were other, more pressing matters at hand, "And do put away that keyblade, won't you? Don't want to attract stray Hearltess, eh?"
Questions/Comments: I just want to say…RIGHTS FOR NOBODIES!
Name: Sora
Nickname(optional): None
Age: 16 (Birthday is June 1st)
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Position: Good
Weapon: Keyblade
Appearance: People often say that Sora is practically defined by his unnaturally spiky, chocolate brown hair, but it just isn’t true.
Though his boyish face, small nose, and lips always a hairsbreadth away from a smile, are often a dead giveaway, it’s Sora’s eyes that truly make him stand out, for Sora’s eyes are blue.
Not a dark grey masquerading as blue, nor a watery, sky-blue, but a true, dark cerulean blue that can only be seen by staring into the shallow part of an ocean on a perfectly clear day. They blaze brightly, full of the light in his heart, reflecting unending optimism and unshakable confidence. One look into those eyes and one knows that there is still good in the worlds. Unfortunately, because they tend reflect everything in his mind and heart, Sora has never been much good at the art of lying.
His honey-brown skin speaks of long days in the tropical, island sun, swimming and surfing and sparring. He is lean, but strong from countless battles against the Heartless and the Organization. Of course, it was a bit of a shock for him to wake up after his slumber in Namine’s care, several inches taller and his voice considerably deeper than it had been before, but he soon adapted. Though swiftly approaching adulthood, Sora still retains some of the puppy fat of boyhood, and of course still clings fast to his youthful enthusiasm for life.
Sora’s clothes were gifts from three Good Fairies, consisting of loose, black pants, stopping just below his knees, fitted with large red pockets for various potions and items. Yellow straps and buckles loop and criss-cross his lower half, securing his pockets and…yes, adding a bit of a fashion statement. Having always been fond of the primary colors, Sora was glad to have a least some yellow on his personage. His black half-jacket was worn over a navy, sleeveless top, accented with more red pockets. Black gloves and, large, comfortable sneakers finished the outfit…And, of course, Sora never was never fully dressed without his silver crown-pendant secured about his neck by a chain.
Abilities: High Jump Glide Dash Aerial Dodge Dodge Roll
Attacks…
Trinity Limit
Sora works closely with his friends. Their strength is his strength. Their limits are his limits. A sort of “I’ll hold him and you punch” concept, if you will. I realize this isn’t very specific, and leaves a lot of room open for creativity, but Sora adepts to new situations and strengths.
…Honstly, we’ve all played the game right?
Weapon(s): The Keyblade. You want a list of keychains? I’m sure someone has them listed somewhere. For rping purposes, I will primarily use the Kingdom Key, as I feel it is more symbolic of who and what Sora is, and is more aesthetically pleasing. The difference in strength between one Keyblade to the next is rather difficult to track on text based rp.
Inventory:
15 serenity stones 1 Ball point pen 1 Dark Anklet 1 packet of Kleenex 12 Lucid shards 1 Plastic Spider Man ring (from one of those little vending machine things at the super market for like 25 Cents) 2 Mysterious Goo 3 Elixers 800 munny 3 ethers 2 paper clips 2 Orichalcum 1 Honorary Membership card 10 Tents 5 Mega-potions 1 Power Band Thundaga Trinket 1 Master’s Ring Draw Ring 1 pretty blue stone Keychains, keychains, keychains
Personality: Sora’s personality is like a warm, sunny day that’s just beginning. Eternally positive, Sora is always ready with a smile and an encouraging word. He does not merely believe in the Light, following its bright beams where they may lead, but, in fact, is Light, shedding it where he walks. The heart of the worlds respond to him, calling him for help and the help of his keyblade.
His strength comes from his ability to make friends. He has a keen sense of justice, never hesitating for a moment to help someone in need. Because of his outgoing, friendly nature, people are naturally drawn to him, and because of his desire to help those around him, people can’t help but love him.
Sora has a competitive spirit and just a hint of teenage cockiness that could easily spell trouble if it weren’t for his uncanny ability to meet and defeat all challenges thrown his way. He never believes for one second that he will lose, and because of that…he doesn’t.
History/Background (Abridged): Sora was born on Destiny Islands. His best friends were Riku and Kairi, whom he spent every moment possible with, playing on the beach, in the sand, and in the waves. At 14, he began to have strange dreams, foreshadowing his adventures to come. His world was soon torn apart by the heartless. In one terrorizing moment, he lost his friends, his home, and his island. In the process he discovered he had the ability to wield a mysterious weapon known as the keyblade.
He found himself in Traverse town, where he met Donald and Goofy, soon to be his companions as he traveled the worlds, determined to find his friends and set thing right.
After many an adventure, Sora was forced to leave both of his friends behind once again, in order to save the worlds. He took a detour at Castle Oblivion, where his memories were taken apart one by one, and then chained back together again by a witch named Namine. Once again he continued his search for his friends, eventually returning to his island safely, with his Nobody in tow, Roxas, a result of taking his life to save Kairi in earlier adventures.
Role Playing Sample:
Now, more than ever it was easy to tell where Radiant Garden had been given its name.
Lush greenery lined the streets, all around were pink and red blooms pushing their way from the stony cracks of the castle’s foundation. Small but sturdy trees spread out their branches, timidly, testing the new soil, and putting out soft, green leaves. The life that had once been absent from the world was heaving a sigh of relief as the Dark grip it had been subject to relinquished its hold.
The castle, stripped of its emblem, still stood tall and menacingly, clawing at the sky. Still, it was a far cry from the terrifying threat it had been to a short, 14-year-old boy, who hadn’t had time to grow into his shoes before he was wrenched from his home to save the Worlds from certain doom. Now, the water’s harsh flow was curbed by controlled waterways and waterfalls. Small houses skirted the building, bravely filling the empty spaces.
Sora, under the pretense of scouting for stray Heartless, was ambling through newly paved streets, hands resting comfortably behind his head. His black tennis shoes whispered softly against the ground, while his bright blue eyes gazed outward at the world; he walked the streets with the confidence of someone who owned the place, knew every nook and cranny, and could call every citizen by name.
Radiant.
Purple and gold crocuses clustered at the base of a spring. Those were Radiant. The sun beaming down on them. That was Radiant also. A bright, Saturday morning. Friends to share it with. Kairi’s smile…
Sora blushed faintly at the though. He could hardly think of a better word.
