In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Name: Lord Uther Pendragon Nickname(optional): Lord U. Organization XIII or Dark XII Nickname(optional): The Trapped Sage
Age: N/A, pre-heartless (appears) 68
Gender: Male
Species: Heartless
Position: Lawful Evil Organization XIII or Dark XII Position: Number ten
Power(s):
Divination: Lord U.'s most important power, he can see the future. All of it. He can tell you everything from what day the universe will be destroyed to the day of his own death. This power comes with a high price: Though he can see the future, he is helpless to do anything about it. He cannot choose what information to give others, nor can he decide for himself who he is going to kill. His entire life is set in stone, a slave to prophecy.
Chess pieces: Lord U. finds chess' intricate nature symbolic of his own fate, and has the power to summon large black chess pieces to do his will. Each can only move the way they can in the game, and while they have no special powers the amount of damage they deal is clearly linked to the strength of the piece.
Weapon(s): A mace, heavily set with gems, with a rich purple handle and a silver head.
Picture(optional): None yet.
Appearance: Lord U. is a large man- not so much in height, but more in width. He maintains the classical monarch look in that he wears a white robe rich in furs, with his mace hanging at his side. His hair is blond, thin, short, and straight, coming not even down to his ears. His face is lined with wrinkles, and his eyes glow black when his emotions are strong.
Personality: Lord U. has power, but no free will. The fact that he can see precisely the path he must walk but cannot do a thing about it has driven him insane. Madly jealous of those with free will, he keeps his rage inside him, preferring to take it out in the form of sharp quips and a deep British voice that's lined with loathing. He would give anything for the power of will, although he knows it is not fated for him right now. The free wills of others can alter fate, and perhaps then he could break away, but he cannot work towards that end. Most of the time he stays in his room, playing chess with an invisible opponent. He maintains a cordial relationship with his fellow XII members out of necessity, but envies all of them. There's no one he hates more than Luxord, who represents the free will and manipulation of fate he wants more than anything else.
Original World: Medieval England (Sword in the Stone) Current Residing World: The World that Never Was History/Background: Uther Pendragon was the King of England before Arthur, Arthur's father, and a friend of Merlin's. Merlin was his trusted adviser, and he was always fascinated with the magician's prophecies. Fate, symbols, divine intervention, the otherworldly...he loved it all. When he became too old to rule, with no successor (as Arthur was hidden away as per Merlin's instructions) he devoted all his time to studying these prophecies and foreseeing the future.
When the Heartless arrived, he was getting quite old (for the era) and was confined to bed for most of the time. He spent most of his time playing chess with various callers, though he rarely lost. The Heartless devoured him, as they did the rest of the world, and he woke up in the cold of the Land of the Dragons. The next few minutes seemed like an eternity- the realization of what he had become, seeing the entire future before him and knowing he could do nothing about it. He went to the XII's Castle, as he knew he must, and took up residence as number ten. The future was set, and he loathed it.
Role Playing Sample: Checkmate.
Another game, this one Uther had lost. He still called himself Uther, though to the world he was the sage Lord U. These chess games were his only solace, for his opponent was fate itself, and that was the only player who could play him and have a chance.
A knock on the door. Uther knew who it was. He had been expecting Myde today since the day he had become this. He was going to ask about the movements of Sephiroth, and Uther would respond with a riddle that would Myde would eventually work out. He hated the piper. A musician, a free spirit! What he wouldn't give to have that freedom, to not give riddles or play games with fate.
Someday, perhaps, he could escape. He knew that. It would take significant deviation from what prophecy had layed out for him, but it was possible. There was nothing he could do about it, though. He couldn't- it was not his fate. All he could do was sit here, alone but for his thoughts, and play the sphinx. Trapped.
