Here we go.....
Name:Kairi
Nickname(optional):Organization XIII or Dark XII Nickname(optional): NA. Though I expect they call her ‘Namine’s Other,’ or ‘Princess,’ or possibly ‘Keyboy’s girl.’
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Position: Princess of Heart
Power(s): As a Princess of Heart, Kairi has immense power, but of a very subtle sort. She is one of the passive forces, a pillar of the Light. She upholds the very world just by existing. She can sense things others can’t. She can see things clearly, no matter how dark, for she is light.
Weapon(s): Kairi has a keyblade. (If it has a name, no one’s telling.) It is reminiscent of home; golden as the sand and sun, the hilt-guard carved of ocean waves, it blooms with the bright flowers native to the Islands. The keychain is a paopu fruit.
Picture(optional):Appearance: Kairi has deep red hair - in some lights closer to maroon, in some nearly pink. It frames her face and brushes down over her shoulders - she rather likes it longer, so she’s been growing it out. Her eyes are blue as the ocean, and as fluid, showing every change of mood. She’s not terribly tall, around 5’4”, and quite slender. Her skin is rose and gold, reflecting the time she spends outdoors on the sun-drenched islands.
She prefers to wear clothing with sleeveless tops and thigh-length skirts, in pink and purple and white.
Personality:There's an unconscious innocence to Kairi. She is fair and sweet, even bubbly. She has kindness and love in abundance, and courage to spare. And when that innocence runs into the harsh realities of life – she may not be the one to shatter.
She is remarkably level-headed and good at coping, though most people would not expect this upon meeting her; neither would they expect the depths of her quiet determination. She comes across as girlish and naïve – and in many ways she is. But she is grounded on the world and whatever the world has to offer will not make her lose herself. What defines her, what she is in essence, is Light.
Mostly, what people will see is that she is happy and bubbly and girlish and open – she cannot hide her mood. She does not seem that far from ordinary. Riku is her dearest friend, and Sora is her light.
Original World: Destiny Islands
Current Residing World: Destiny Islands
History/Background:When Kairi was very small, she was sent away from the place where she was born. She never knew why, and doesn’t remember anything about that place. It really doesn’t bother her - that place isn’t home.
She had an idyllic childhood, growing up on the beaches of Destiny Islands. She and Sora and Riku were inseparable, going back almost as far as she can remember. But - they all were growing up, and Riku was getting restless. And then one night the Heartless came.
Kairi’s body fell into the darkness, but was not harmed by it, for her heart had fled rather that be taken, and was hiding within Sora. She returned to herself only when Sora sacrificed himself to make it happen. She awoke to the sight of Sora falling, dissolving into motes of light, and she tried to catch him where he fell, but he vanished from her arms. Sora’s companions screamed for him, and she cried out defiance against anything that would take him from her. The dark man came then, and Riku held him back, and though she didn’t know quite what was going on, she understood well enough when he told her to run.
And then, there was a heartless, a shadow, and it was Sora. It just…
was. And surrounded by the creeping darkness, she held him, called his name, and there was a moment where everything was light, and then he was holding her.
They still needed Riku back. No matter how much she wanted to go, Sora was right that she and her complete lack of battle ability would only be in the way where he was going, so she stayed in the relative safety of Traverse Town with some friends of his.
But that was alright, because they would never be really separate. Their hearts were connected, and they knew it now. She would always be with him.
She gave him charm made of seashell, and he went.
She saw him for a moment, in a place that probably wasn’t really a place, where he promised he’d find her, he was always with her, too. Home returned around her, and the stars flew back into the sky. She didn’t cry then. She would later, but not then.
Kairi waited. Even when she didn’t quite remember what she was waiting for, she waited. And then - she stopped waiting and when a chance to go after him presented itself, she leapt at it with out a thought of fear.
That didn’t go so well. She kept getting kidnapped. Kidnapped from her kidnaper, no less! Axel she might have felt sorry for, but Saix she didn’t like at all. Saix stuck her in a cell and mostly left her there, except for periodic taunting. She was there until Namine - her very own Nobody, of all things - broke her out. They found Riku, who didn’t look like Riku at all but still was. Sora was in all kinds of trouble, but this time, Kairi would fight, and Riku handed her a weapon. It was all very confused for a while. Namine was part of Kiari again, Roxas (
Sora’s Nobody) was part of Sora again, Riku had his own face back, they fought and defeated the one behind all this and they were going home. All of them, together.
When the portal closed with Sora and Riku on the other side, Kairi - well, she knew she hadn’t lost them forever. But that was all she knew. That may have been one of the worst moments of the whole thing.
When they fell into the shallow water of the beach, she thought her heart might burst with relief and joy.
It hasn’t been easy to return to the life they had before. And of course, the universe doesn’t seem ready to let them.
